i got into mp100 recently aaand
so i'm in this backyard chickens group on reddit and someone just discovered their hen is transitioning and everyone is stoked
anyway in case you didn't know chickens will sometimes spontaneously f2m and it's pretty cool
we are in a media literacy crisis
little does he know that that's what all teenagers think about
a comic where serizawa and reigen get into a tense conversation about counsellors and moms (and maybe actually about other things, too).
this is a bit experimental, and may be a bit rough around the edges. i mostly did it bc 1) i wanted to explore reigen and serizawa's flaws and relationships, 2) try to make smth out of serizawa mom's OVA drama cd gag, 3) explore the idea of courage, again. (i think it's also hilarious that reigen just insists on not telling seri abt his lack of powers despite telling mob and tome(after like a month??). and seri just knows and rolls with it. despite sincerity being his whole thing, i think he's good at accepting lies.) some dialogues are also intended to have extra weight with context from reigen separation arc and final ???% arc. i'm not sure if they came across well. but if not, i hope you enjoyed it anyway!
thank you for reading! edit: now also on ao3.
the implications of tiny kid mob seeing spirits and not understanding how Horrifying it would be to a normal person is so freaking funny I just picture like
shigeo, nine years old: look!! i drew you this!!
reigen: aw that’s nice let me see
the drawing: crayon kid-penmanship of reigen sitting at his desk with a massive Eldritch Horror of a spirit looming over his shoulder
reigen, white-knuckling it: oh! ……. how nice! Is that behind me, then?
shigeo, nodding: yeah!! it likes you!
reigen: o h ! that’s great mob!
reigen internally: h oohohhlly sh i t
finally finished fmab so i thought i’d redraw some cursed stock photos,,, as one does,,, 💀
I'm thinking about this idea a bit more, and I think instead of Shigeo enrolling into UA, even if the General Studies course, I'd like to see Teru take a crack at it actually. Shigeo's off in a non-heroics high school just working on bettering himself while Teru goes straight for UA's Hero course, after all he's worked with Seasoning City's totally legitimate hero and psychic Reigen Arataka.
Teru's already had his development in middle school, and now he gets to impart this wisdom upon the kids of UA, he's an amazing fighter with excellent control over his powers (are they still psychic powers or a Quirk here I haven't decided yet) but most importantly he's a great rescue hero. He always makes sure to get civilians to safety and does what he can to subdue threats, he's gotten plenty of practice in after all the stuff that's gone down in Seasoning after all.
