I'm reading posts that talk about a rewrite of G3 to make it look like G1? Honestly... Why? Let the newcomers have fun with G3. Let children and adolescents feel identified with characters that adapt to new generations.
Instead: why don't they demand a continuation of G1? What do I care about the life of a teenager between 14 and 17 years old? GIVE ME EXISTENTIAL CRISIS OF YOUNG ADULTS BETWEEN 20 AND 30!!!!
Give me a Deuce who feels stuck because he doesn't know what to do with his life!!! Give me a Gil who is looking to move out of his parents' house because he can't stand them anymore!! GIVE ME FRANKIE GOING INTO CRISIS BECAUSE SHE KNOWS HOW TO BE AN ADULT!! IT COST HORRORS FOR HER TO BE A TEENAGER, BEING A FUNCTIONAL ADULT IS KILLING HER!!!
Show how Clawdeen strives to be a dressmaker! What the world of modeling is like!! IT'S NOT AS EASY AS IT LOOKED WHEN I WAS A TEENAGER! Show how Jackson and Holt try to balance their lives so that each one fulfills what they dream of! Show how you organize yourself so that Holt has rehearsals and goes to concerts!! While Jackson manages his college study schedule!! Show Cleo struggling to grow up. This girl was a princess from ancient Egypt and probably had a pre-written life. Now that is not possible. She is grateful but horrified in equal parts because she no longer knows how to continue. Damn, show Toralei trying to achieve a better future but with a background that complicates her life!! OH MY GOD!!! SHE WAS IN A JUVENILE PRISON!!! THAT FILE IS BITTING HIS BUTT IN THE WORST WAY!!
I want characters I can identify with too. But I am no longer a child or teenager, I am an adult. I want adult characters that I can empathize with, identify with, and want to hug because I know how hard it is to try to be a functional adult.
Please leave G3 alone and give me a big sequel to G1.

no oracle, priest/priestess, medium or witch faithful to a serious spiritual tradition can foresee the future, nor can they enter the minds of men with tarot cards. tarot is a language meant to decipher the PRESENT, as in what your CURRENT trajectory in life is and how ur actions can create potential outcomes. it is a tool meant for self-discovery and shadow integration, NOT stupid shit like whether ur favorite idol or artist has this amount of anime figurines in their room or whether they've met someone or not. the cards can indicate hints at experiences that will come to pass, but they are not set in stone because we're freewilled thinking creatures and every single action we take creates a new future. stop talking to readers who only deal in fandom culture, that's not a reader, that's a fanatic.
fandoms are really weird because why the hell I just saw this post of someone asking this “tarot card” reader if hyunjin met a certain person and she reply “yeah they definitely did met”. Fandoms from all types have weird people but I have to say that kpop is a different level of weird, from assuming their idols are dating someone just because they wrote a certain song, or if they go to the same gym as someone or even asking online alleged tarot readers about their personal/sexual life.
i’m not really into tarot, but i do think it can be interesting in its own way. but yeah, people acting like they know really specific stuff like that is wild. i’ve also seen tiktoks of people using astrology and whatnot to talk about skz members being dominant or submissive in the bedroom like. what are we doing
as an skz and kpop vet in general this, this is everything - regardless of fandom headcanons on these people, which again must be reiterated bc some folks just dont seem to realize that yes these are real live human beings who were once as much a grain of sand on the beach as we all are, these boys specifically hold a very special place in my heart BECAUSE they're self-produced, BECAUSE they insist on breaking the status quo of the industry, BECAUSE they show support and possible relation to all corners of their audience, queer folks POC folks weird folks etc. etc. etc.
(so sorry if any of this comes out as sarcastic/mean its not)
So like I've never been into kpop or celebrity stuff or anything (aka my blorbos are only fictional characters) but youve shown up on my dash a couple times recently and you seem like a chill person to ask so like- What's the like *vibe* with fandoms like these? Like whats the interesting part about these people to u thats enough to make a whole blog about them? Ive heard about people shipping them like theyre characters so it is that?? Is it the people themselves? Is it just the pretty factor? I'm assuming its not just the songs cuz ive seen a lot of fanfics n fandom stuff that are about the *people* instead n its made me really curious cuz i dont think I get it?
well, as someone who’s been in fandoms for real people for like 15 years at this point, i feel pretty qualified to answer this lol. the music is of course a big factor, at least for me. i wouldn’t closely follow anyone if i didn’t love their art. but i do love them as people too.
in the case of kpop, the industry puts a big emphasis on fan interaction and fanservice, and as a result there’s a lot of content that revolves solely around getting to know the idols (variety shows, vlogs) and forming a parasocial bond with them (fancalls, direct messaging, public forums that idols can comment on). which of course can be a bad thing, and kpop fans can get uniquely extreme about it, but my personal philosophy is always to treat artists as human beings and not assume that i know everything, because i obviously don’t.
anyway, with stray kids specifically, i really admire that they’re one of the few self-produced kpop groups and they all seem to have a genuine passion for making music and performing. they have a strong familial bond; they’re all very unique, strong personalities, and yet they come together so beautifully to pursue a common goal. the common goal being making really fucking good music that spans multiple genres.
they’re extremely funny and it’s a riot watching them bounce off each other. they’re literally all weird and insane in the best ways possible. they’re not perfect, they’ve messed up, but i think they’ve demonstrated that they have good hearts and they genuinely care about others. they try their best to make everyone feel welcome in their space, and they have a deep love and appreciation for their fans. and yes, they are outstandingly beautiful and just looking at them is gratifying in and of itself lmao.
in terms of shipping and fanfics, well. stray kids is a goldmine. lots of constant homoerotic tension between various pairings, which of course they play up in a fanservice way, but underlying all the messing around are very real bonds of love. and that’s all in addition to some very intentional and repeated queer-flagging from some members. but like generally they just love each other so much and it’s so palpable in everything they do that it’s just fun to explore the possibilities i guess. i can’t really speak for other idol groups, but that’s the deal with skz.
ultimately, i guess i would say the vibe of stanning idols is just… gushing over vlogs and ig posts and photoshoots and messages and getting really hyped about new music. but also worrying that they’ll fuck up because they’re human. and worrying about their wellbeing because the idol industry and fandoms can be absolutely brutal. and seeing a million fanwars a week about which group charts the best and sells out the most stadiums, but also about even stupider, more inconsequential things. but overall, if you curate your experience, it can be a lot of fun. i hope that answers your questions even a little bit lol, that kind of became me just raving about stray kids.
