The one reason this is a yes from me is because she was able to pull the trigger on pete. She’s able to do what has to be done.

Jason Jepson is literally everything the fandom wants Max to be (kind of dumb, gets redeemed and turns out to be actually really sweet, cares a lot about his friends, makes up with the nerds he bullied, hell he even likes Grace). But yet the fandom still favours Max more. I wonder why that is! Hmmm, I wonder what the difference between these two could be!
I’m sorry, I may just be a bit oblivious but I don’t actually get what you’re trying to imply here 😅 especially because in my mind these are two very different characters.
Mainly because from point one it’s obvious Jason doesn’t want to be doing the things he’s doing which contrasts with max who seems to revel in it and so has a much more stark difference between his terrible behavior and his redemption.
I think it should also be mentioned that (imo) Jason isn’t really a character who gets “redeemed”. (Hear me out!) From my understanding redemption is when you do something truly truly bad, make up for it, and learn to be a better person. Jason barely fulfills the truly bad thing by hanging with max and doing his bidding (but as I said above he doesn’t want to be doing any of it in the first place) but his “redemption” is a bit overshadowed by the fact that he tells Richie that if max ever came back he’d go right back to bullying. Now even though max’s redemption is also overshadowed by a return to his evil doings I think it’s really important to mention that Jason just randomly says he’d return to bullying if max ever came back. Whereas max has a more character reason to make his decent back into evil (mainly getting hurt, and pissing his pants. Which are both embarrassing things and we know he has a problem with his dad humiliating him)
In your tags you mentioned that you didn’t think screen time had to do with this, but I actually think it does. And the reason I think this is because of Kyle. Now idk about anyone else but I often don’t remember much about this character. (I had to look up his name just now.) and to me that’s because he hardly does anything in the show. So it would make sense to me if Jason, who is in the show less than max but more than Kyle, would get less attention from the fandom than max, but more than Kyle. And while I know that people love taking random background characters and making them the fandom favorite. I don’t actually think that Jason really fulfills what a typical fandom wants to see which is mainly toxic sad boys. (Which Jason is not imo. Other than the whole “we’re gonna return to bullying” he’s pretty healthy and happy)
I’m sure there are more in depth reasons but that’s the one that came up to me.
Sorry, not trying to be rude or anything. Just kinda hoping to start a conversation because I’m really curious about this topic! 😊
(edit: I looked back at your tags and saw that this is about race, which is totally fair. I’m not going to claim that isn’t what’s happening here since I haven’t really looked at the fandom from that point of view. Feel free to disregard this entire reblog 😝)

Cinderella ella ella ella ella
All Cinderella adaptations can be enhanced/improved by the addition of Bryce Charles spread the word
Each dress reference in order from left to right: Cinderella (2015), Into The Woods (1987 cast), Cinderella (1950), Rodger and Hammerstein's Cinderella (1997), Ever After (1998), A Cinderella Story (2004)
I pushed myself with this one. Starkid: Cinderella's Castle
Based off the song "Neon"
“Strange… When I picture her in my mind I see naught but fire and starlight…”
Omg I just realized!!
Ella still got her first wish!
This is the same paper that we see her get back in this scene, in which we can see this was a large essay too.
There's nothing rushed to her handwriting, this was not an essay done at the last minute, and still, it shows several signs of a learning disability and/or dysgraphia.
Misspells her name in the second line
Wrong and inconsistent pronoun usage
Her margin spacing is consistent with someone who can't do proper syllable division
Immature transcription (see: writes her "um"s)
Limited vocabulary
Shows signs of: difficulty expressing ideas in writing, having a limited vocabulary, mispronouncing words or using a wrong word that sounds similar, and having trouble organizing what she wants to say. Those are all symptoms of a learning disability.
Less of a checklist sign, but her handwriting is very round and careful, while still not being consistently sized (see unfashionable). This and the margin sizes are very common in kids with bad dysgraphia who are made to take rigorous calligraphy courses to "fix the problem". Courses that work on the visual without remedying its underlying issues and causes. Form over content if you will.
Looking at this very blatant sign that she has a learning disability and immediately defaulting to calling her names (yes calling her stupid and saying Elphaba is a moronsexual for this counts), asking how she got into Shiz, or defending Dillamond in doing the very first thing teachers are told NOT to do with disabled students (re: calling attention to it in front of the entire class) is ableist!
Quick, don’t think about the fact that the Baker was told he had a sister right at the beginning of into the woods, and maybe when all of the destruction was over he might have put the pieces together and realized that he lost someone before he’d even met her.
Don’t think about the fact that Rapunzel died before ever knowing she had a brother and that a relationship like that (the kind that didn’t want anything out of her) could have majorly helped her in the long run.
Don’t think about the fact that the devastation in the play doesn’t just tear apart already existing relationships but also relationships that could have been.
Open your eyes, daughter of fire.

Starkid’s new musical is HERE and I’m already OBSESSED!!!
There's always empty space in their bed, for one more person.
There's always a third plate on the table, with no food because they're not there to eat.
There's always the way they look between them as if there was someone there.
There's always the longing for the flash of pink or a hint of golden curls in the forest.
They couldn't go where she was.
She didn't know where they were.
They were stuck.
And it'll have to be that way forever.
It won't change.
Not until someone moves.
Alright, I misphrased, that’s my bad.
I was trying to figure out how to explain this before but I was having trouble. Hopefully this is the better explanation
The goal of the crowdfunding is to break even. The goal of the digi ticket is to make money.
What I mean by this is that crowdfunding is done with the goal to use every single scent that you receive. You’re not saving any of this money, you’re using every single penny. And unfortunately a lot of times even what you get from crowdfunding wasn’t enough to do everything you wanted to do for the show, and pay everyone. digital tickets are done with the intent to actually make the money. This is the money that lets you not scrimp and save, lets you go buy the new shirt cause your old one ripped, this money can actually be put into savings for future use! (Aka the money that you can dip into when the crowdfunding wasn’t enough lol /j)
The actors are paid during the crowdfunding. Everyone is. They can’t be living for months without getting paid. (Again sorry for misphrasing, that’s my bad)
the whole point of the crowdfunding tho is to be able to have money until you can make money. It’s just enough to pay the actors enough to live. Pay the props department enough to get the props, etc. if this was all the money they receive during the run of the show they’d be bankrupt in weeks. It’s not going to be enough to maintain long term financial stability.
And this isn’t some random business plan that Starkid cooked up. This is just how the entertainment industry works. It’s the same tactic that’s used in mainstream Hollywood. Except that usually in Hollywood people will get a sponsor for their movie. Like some bigwig exec who is willing to give them money until they are making money from the movie.( then usually these executives have the ability to change up the movie to fit their ideals better. Which is why executive interference is so prevalent.)
Just in case anyone was hoping to watch Star Baby on the 8th without a digital ticket, you can't <33
Think of it this way: the crowdfunding is all for the show. It’s to buy props, and set pieces, and costumes, and even to reserve the venue, and stuff like that.
The digital ticket is for the actors. This pays the actors for their time and effort, so that they can keep a roof over their head and food on the table and so that they want to come back to do more shows in the future.
They can’t use crowdfunded money to pay the actors because they need as much of it for the show as possible. Not only for cool props and stuff but also for if anything breaks, or if there’s any other last minute things they need to worry about.
If starkid put their stuff straight into YouTube without doing things like digital ticketing they would start losing money fast, and future shows would be harder to create.
I know it’s hard, but have faith that these guys aren’t just putting up paywalls for no good reason :)

Hey guys after NPMD if Steph and Pete ever have to walk single file, Steph has to go in front because she can never look at the back of his head again without feeling the weight of a gun in her hands 💖
Immediately bought the new VHSCCs album cause I’m obsessed with the new version. Ngl I kinda wish they’d release a version with A.J. As Scrooge cause I like to make playlists that have the same songs different singers side by side, but beggars can’t be choosers so I’m going to be blasting this playlist until new years.
I forgot to post this back when they were delivered, but ohmygod look at these!!! I can’t wait to try to find a spot on the walls to put that massive map lmao
Aww why can’t we share? How about this, I’ll buy every doll in the shop. On weekdays they’ll be mine, and on weekends you can look at one for five seconds through the front window of my house! Seems like an fair trade off!
Happy Black Friday everyone! Just a quick reminder that if you see a little green doll that resembles an under water creature from out of this world, to leave it on shelves! For me. Because that doll will be FUCKING MINE.
Solomon Lauter is so underrated. I know we all hate him because he’s horrible to Steph, and he does suck for that, but he’s also such a compelling character, especially for the limited screentime he’s had. I want to know more about his backstory, I want to know the specifics of his deal with the Lords in Black, I want to know WHY he’s so desperate to keep his position as mayor because it seems like it goes deeper than just wanting to stay in power and he doesn’t seem to have any aspirations beyond it—at least so far, he hasn’t expressed interest in, say, running for governor or the senate, which I feel like he would if it was just about power and ambition. I think he needs to keep watch over Hatchetfield specifically (stand sentinel at the gates of hell, as he phrases it in NPMD) and he can’t ever leave his post. Something is keeping him tied there.
The way he immediately, blatantly directs everyone to start pointing fingers at each other in Hatchet Town and it works. The way he doesn’t seem to care about individual people very much, but is still invested in saving the world from Max, to the point where he’s willing to dig up the black book and trust Stephanie with it. The way he’s still unwilling to touch the book himself. The way he KNOWS Max cannot be reasoned with, but is still desperate enough in his final moments that he tries to plead with him and offers to buy him beer of all things. And the way Corey delivers his monologue right after he makes Pete Steph and Grace dig up the book?? The way the Nightmare Time leitmotif comes in on “to survive this night, you’ll have to strike a bargain with the Lords in Black”?? Fucking immaculate. So good, so chilling, I think it might be one of my favorite serious/non-comedic moments in the entire Hatchetfield trilogy.
In conclusion: he’s such a fascinating character and I really hope we get to see more of him at some point in the future.
Every now and then I’m absolutely baffled by actors and what they can do.
Especially starkid actors.
Like, you’re telling me that:
This is a set of three people who are not related to each other???
This is voiced by a guy with a mic off stage???
This woman isn’t having the most horrifying day of her life?????
You’re telling me this is not a pipe??
Thank you but I don’t believe it
Everytime someone spells Richie Ritchie a part of me dies
OKAY
SEVERAL PEOPLE NOW HAVE REBLOGGED MY SPOILER HEAVY CINDERELLA'S CASTLE POSTS WITHOUT SPOILER TAGS
The wait is almost over! Cinderella's Castle Digital Tickets Available 9am PST / 12pm EST on Friday August 16th
I come bearing grim news. The old king, at last, has died.
one thing i love about cinderella's castle is how it's a dark retelling of cinderella, yes, but it doesn't needlessly insult the original fairy tale. every beat of the fairy tale is woven into the show wonderfully without there ever being a joke about something being weird or not making sense
Ella and Tadius from Cinderella's Castle give very similar energy to Curt and Tatiana from Spies Are Forever. Both not interested in each other romantically but are absolutely best friends and probably kiss each other on the cheek when they meet up and everyone sorta thinks they're together and they never deny it but they know they're not together and never will be
Our man Tadius really had one (1) conversation with someone who wasn't obsessed with the royal family and immediately went "oh my Gods, we should kill the King" completely unprompted.
AND THEN HE ACTUALLY DID IT! Legends only! No one is doing it like him!
Coming out as a Hey, Melissa! defender, she’s just girlie pop and I think catboy Paul and dogboy Ted are great additions to the lore ✌️🐈💖
I’m literally going on a trip starting on the 16th!! I’m gonna be in the car the whole time T^T how am I gonna live knowing everyone’s watching tbe digital ticket and I’m not???
