Think of it this way: the crowdfunding is all for the show. It’s to buy props, and set pieces, and costumes, and even to reserve the venue, and stuff like that.
The digital ticket is for the actors. This pays the actors for their time and effort, so that they can keep a roof over their head and food on the table and so that they want to come back to do more shows in the future.
They can’t use crowdfunded money to pay the actors because they need as much of it for the show as possible. Not only for cool props and stuff but also for if anything breaks, or if there’s any other last minute things they need to worry about.
If starkid put their stuff straight into YouTube without doing things like digital ticketing they would start losing money fast, and future shows would be harder to create.
I know it’s hard, but have faith that these guys aren’t just putting up paywalls for no good reason :)
Just in case anyone was hoping to watch Star Baby on the 8th without a digital ticket, you can't <33
this is so sad, alexa play going through changes by eminem
for @lautski-week day 5: change
Our man Tadius really had one (1) conversation with someone who wasn't obsessed with the royal family and immediately went "oh my Gods, we should kill the King" completely unprompted.
AND THEN HE ACTUALLY DID IT! Legends only! No one is doing it like him!
one thing i love about cinderella's castle is how it's a dark retelling of cinderella, yes, but it doesn't needlessly insult the original fairy tale. every beat of the fairy tale is woven into the show wonderfully without there ever being a joke about something being weird or not making sense
Cinderella ella ella ella ella
All Cinderella adaptations can be enhanced/improved by the addition of Bryce Charles spread the word
Each dress reference in order from left to right: Cinderella (2015), Into The Woods (1987 cast), Cinderella (1950), Rodger and Hammerstein's Cinderella (1997), Ever After (1998), A Cinderella Story (2004)
Every now and then I’m absolutely baffled by actors and what they can do.
Especially starkid actors.
Like, you’re telling me that:
This is a set of three people who are not related to each other???
This is voiced by a guy with a mic off stage???
This woman isn’t having the most horrifying day of her life?????
You’re telling me this is not a pipe??
Thank you but I don’t believe it
day 2: party ⚔️🪄📖
get it it's like an adventuring p
@lautski-week
Aww why can’t we share? How about this, I’ll buy every doll in the shop. On weekdays they’ll be mine, and on weekends you can look at one for five seconds through the front window of my house! Seems like an fair trade off!
Happy Black Friday everyone! Just a quick reminder that if you see a little green doll that resembles an under water creature from out of this world, to leave it on shelves! For me. Because that doll will be FUCKING MINE.
Lautski Day 3: camp 🕺💃💅💅💅✨✨
@lautski-week
I call this one camp at camp. I’m imagining a full met gala show to the absolute horror of all of the camp counselors 😂
I had meant to draw Nick-Pete but went into some kind of trance and when I woke up I had draw Joey 😭😭 idk what happened 😆
a much deserved, big chonky cheese for the world's best lil squire
If I had a nickel for the times Starkid musicals had a "Jekyll and Hyde" moment for a character I'd have two nickles which isn't a lot but I just realised it happend twice
The question is whether this nobler in the mind to be well liked but ineffectual or moral but malignedShe/herThis is just gonna be a musical blog at this point
