Redesigning my main OCs (1/4) !! love my lanky gal :]

the more finished-looking/colored doodle is pretty much her final design for now! also i did decide that she will be keeping her iconic floppy ears eehee

under the mask she has mandibles (lore junk) and so me and my bff she's based on made the goal of really pushing that bug motif, and so we went the obvious route by slapping on some extra limbs and antennaes! Shes always drawn the heaviest inspiration from pearl of steven universe which i loved capturing in her orb motif, and the extra limbs will be a fun way to get her expressive nature across as she talks with hand gestures, is dainty and flowey in her most slightest of movements, and is probably the best set of organized helping hands out of all of the main OCs. I also found relief in giving her the antennaes as it not only allowed me to add more of those pretty, pearlescent, Esca-like orbs, but it also let me save room for the other two OCs to have more horn-ish head peices. :)

placeholder name is still indigo but is gonna change to something of a mix between her original name and something more floral if that makes any bit of sense lol 😭

I wanted to clarify this for no one but myself since I’m the most active on tumblr but if r1ver’s skin ever looks desaturated or ashy it’s because my tablet’s display is off color (mostly with oranges conveniently. Yay.) I’ve tried to mess with it’s color settings multiple times but to no avail so I just try my best to edit the photos on my phone so that they match my tablet’s screen. Hopefully gonna take it back to get it fixed soon since the display being off-color was only a recent problem that I found when I got the tablet back from being fixed the first time around, so I’m pretty sure that the people who fixed a tablet that was involved in an accident (me) so brutal it looked like the thing got shot, I’m pretty sure they’ll be able to fix the same tablet’s slight display problem 😭😭

It literally bugs me so much and every friend I’ve asked said he looks fine but I canttttt he looks like he was drawn by a “it’s just the lighting!!” Twitter artist 💔💔 I promise I ain’t like dat guys my son is healthy and saturated on my iPad I promise I understand color theory 😭😭😭😭😭😞😞😞💔💔💔💔💔💔💔

Serious (happy) post but this is the happiest I’ve ever been in my life. ever. I’m creating art with the same ease and wonder as I used to when I was a kid. I have this carefreeness deep in my soul that I feel like nobody can take away from me no matter what they try to do. Dude. This is life man. This is what it’s all about. I’m untouchable. I love myself and what’s ahead of me. I wanna say I haven’t felt this happy since I was a kid but even that’s not enough. I’ve never felt this happy period. I didn’t even know something has been off about my whole life until this year and that’s crazy. Like I’ve just woken up from a bad dream but can now breathe easy knowing I’m awake and safe in a body and mind that I love. I love myself. I love life. Every day I wake up so happy that I’ve been gifted another day to live.
