(Unusual) Study Tips For Professional Procrastinators™ - Like Me ;)

(Unusual) Study Tips for Professional Procrastinators™ - like me ;)

Happy Pride month!

1. Make studying fun by learning something extra

Learn something new - something you WANT TO LEARN

• a language

• start a relatively easy online course (make sure it’s interesting but also not too time consuming - remember that your actual school/uni work is the priority)

• learn a new skill like sewing/cooking/baking/painting (I recommend Bob Ross tutorials!)

You should do this extra learning during breaks or whenever you feel demotivated - this should bring you back into a study mood.

2. Don’t listen to music

You may think it helps but if you’re a terrible procrastinator like me you will 100% be distracted (if you think music helps continue listening to music - this is just for people who are easily distracted cough cough MEEEE). An alternative is white noise; Tide is a great app with lots of sounds (and other amazing functions! It’s also a nice extension on Chrome)

3. Wear headphones - even if you’re not listening to music!

Block out some noise + create the illusion of a focused atmosphere. Well, for me at least. Try it and tell me if it helps. If it doesn’t… Sorry :(

4. Shower (don’t waste time though, have a quick shower)

I find that showering can really improve my mood and make me feel motivated… Although it also makes me feel relaxed and makes me want to sleep. So yEaH, there’s that.

To everyone learning a language, who is getting frustrated and impatient and maybe even thinking of quitting: remember how far you have come (not how far you have to go), remember why you started and remember how fantastic the end product will be. Learning a language is difficult and the journey can be long but it is rewarding and it opens so many doors. You are capable of doing this, you can do this… don’t quit now

Here Are A Few Study Tips On How To Learn A New Language 💻☺️:

here are a few study tips on how to learn a new language 💻☺️:

1. start speaking as soon as possible. even when you haven’t learned too many words yet, the most important part of studying a language is not being afraid of using it. so download apps like hellotalk to get in touch with natives! of course, it’s even easier if you already have friends or family members speaking your target language.

2. study the most frequent words! there are tons of free so-called “frequency lists” online that prevent you from studying vocabulary you don’t need in the long run. with only 500 of the right words you could already have basic conversations!

3. get a lot of native exposure - through podcasts, videos and movies. there are so many recommendations on the internet, no matter what language you’re learning. the earlier you start immersing yourself in native material, even if it’s children’s books, the faster you’ll find yourself having fluent conversations!!

4. keep a weekly or daily diary to practice writing in your target language. even if it’s only composed of basic sentences, it’s the best way to use the vocabulary you’ve learned!

qotd: what language would you like to study next? i really look forward to studying Italian once I have a little bit more time!! 💕

So, today was a really productive day. I studied for more than 4 hours in a row, without considering the lectures that I had in the morning, there's my forest at the end of the post, it helps me to feel productive when I see the trees, someone else feels the same way?. Also, I started a future learn course about dementia today and I'm super excited about it. A miracle happened today, I had a psychoanalysis group test in which for the first time this semester my group help me to answer instead of being mute on the breakroom. In the other hand I didn't sleep too much last night but who cares, I'm proud of myself.

I hope every one of you is safe and have a nice day💫

Some people don’t understand and/or recognize the immense amount of strength it takes to pull yourself out of a dark place mentally. So if you did that and defeated depression, anxiety, or self-hate I’m so proud you.

How to Help a Friend See they’re Not a Failure

1. Remind them of all the kind and thoughtful things they’ve done for you, and for the other people in their life.

2. Remind them of times when they’ve pushed ahead, and kept on going, even though it was hard.

3. Remind them of the times when things worked out eventually, and their efforts were rewarded, and they reached a personal goal.

4. Remind of the funny things they’ve said and done, and the times when you’ve laughed, and shared some awsome memories.

5. Show them they are worthwhile and are valuable by doing something special that makes them feel they’re loved.
