oh hello my time has come !! here have some random thoughts on the mondstadt crew (im not a writer in the slightest so these are probably ooc but shhhhh. canon is fake)

amber and kaeya are both bi & will occasionally exchange notes on who they think is cute -- like, sitting outside while they're eating at good hunter and people-watching, pointing out the more attractive citizens in the plaza. amber's equally attracted to all genders, but kaeya leans towards men/masc ppl, so they often bond over cute guys (and kaeya occasionally gently/affectionately bullying amber for her taste in men lmao). one time she got stood up on a date and kaeya saw her walking home while he was on patrol & tried to cheer her up. at one point he said something to the effect of "girl you are literally crying over a guy who is cis. pick your head up queen, your bunny ears are falling." (do i think he said those exact words? no. would it be funny if he did? yes) and she snort-laughed through the sniffles. as she should, bad bitches have goofy laughs

on that note i headcanon kaeya as a trans man !! the titty window came about post-top-surgery bc nobody pays that much money just to keep their chest in a shirt lmao (kaeya doesn’t, at least). i think he's one of those people who's known his identity from a young age, like, even before he was adopted. since jean is so busy, i like to imagine he's one of the people who helps organize & pull the strings for mondstadt's yearly pride celebrations - which is quite possibly the most extravagant in teyvat, given it's the city of freedom & the whole community has very accepting/chill energy.

lisa is a trans woman and kaeya is a trans man and if someone ever says something rude or misgenders one of them, the other will be a sneaky little shit and stir up trouble for the offending party. transmasc & transfemme solidarity, we love to see it ! lisa is another person kaeya will chill with outside good hunter, comparing notes on who's attractive as they people watch (i hc lisa as pan with no preference, but she'll joke abt only dating women). they'll also talk about whose genders they want to steal lol. they're the type of friends who flirt with eachother platonically & have probably hooked up too ngl. just besties being besties yknow

i like to think of diluc as a demiboy (he/they), & think he wouldn't really put a label on his sexuality. for the longest time he ignored the part of him questioning those things bc he doesn't have time for that!! he runs the whole wine industry, he's too busy for an identity crisis dammit!! he acknowledged his gay thoughts(tm) at one point, said "that's a problem for another day," and shoved them in a box in the corner & promptly forgot about them for several years. mans literally procrastinated on figuring out his gender & sexuality

also about diluc: since in-game, characters can be damaged by their own fire once it's lit something else (see: me burning to death in the swath of destruction that follows xiangling's ult in open grass), diluc has lots of heavy burn scars on his hands & arms. he'd never judge someone else for their scars, but he's insecure about his, which is why he always wears gloves & long sleeves. speaking of, he's bad at taking his own advice. "what are you doing up so late? it's bad for your health to be awake at this hour; go to bed," he says, forcibly tucking you in, before promptly going back out to attend to his darknight duties for another 2 hours. mr ragnvindr please get some sleep

Diluc always wondered why you wore clothes that covered your arms, and, even on hot days, you wore things that would completely cover you. He also was prone to wearing long clothes, so he didn’t pay too much attention to it, really - maybe you were cold?

The first time he caught a glimpse of your arms was when you were helping clear out the weeds around the vineyard. You had pulled your sleeve up your arm and wiped the sweat from your forehead 

He’d seen scars on people - especially those in the adventurers guild or the knight's order, but yours seems to be strange. They were uniform and only on one side of your arm instead of places where a normal blade might cut 

The second time he saw them you were helping out the owners of the Floral Whisper. They were trying to set up their displays for the day and had grabbed you as you walked by. Again, he noticed the scars, but this time on your other arm - their same strangely uniform placement 

The third time - he asked you about them 

“Hey, I’ve almost got all of this put-away, can you let them know they should be ready in a few minutes.” You lifted the final crate of wine bottles onto the cart and slid them against the others. There was a satisfying sound as they slipped into place. 

The warm sun had started to heat up your shirt and you wanted to cool off. You made your way to the back of the winery and pumped the water from the reservoir. The cold water felt good on your hands. Slowly, you rolled up your sleeves before you cupped the water in your palms and threw it over your face. It was so refreshing, especially after all the work you got done that morning. 

“Dang it.” You expressed, your eyes closed and filled with water. You had forgotten to grab a towel, and even though you could brush the water from your face, you wished there was a way to dry off. 

“Here.” You hear a voice next to you and feel fabric rub against your face. 

“Ah, thanks!” You take the towel in your hands and dab the water off your skin, your neck, and your arms. “Oh, I thought that was you, Diluc.” 

“I saw you head this way.” 

“Yeah, I needed to cool off. Thanks for this.” You gesture with the towel before draping it over the spigot. You were about to head back to make sure everything was in order when he grabbed onto your wrist. “Uh?” 

“I’ve noticed these several times now, and I am curious as to how you got them.” He held your wrist up to the sunlight, and your stomach drops. 

Desperately, you try to come up with an excuse. “Oh … uh, these are from fighting slimes by the river.” 

“You know I can’t believe that.” He doesn’t let go of your wrist. 

You wish he would just leave it alone. You pry his fingers from you and quickly pull down your sleeves. “Just don’t worry about it. It’s not that big of a deal.” 

“Then why are you lying to me?” His eyes bore into you, they are heavy and you wonder why there isn’t more air outside. 

“I’m … not really. It’s just you don’t need to concern yourself.” You try to play it off. You let out a little laugh as if it really is just a simple thing. 

“Fine.” His tone is sharp and you knew your attempt to lighten the mood failed. He walks off and the pit in your stomach grows bigger. You chase after him. When you catch up you place your hands against his chest and stop him from moving. The two of you stand by the rock barrier separating the winery from the road. 

“Hold on … I know you’re irritated.” 

“Why would I be? This doesn’t concern me, does it.” Again, his words hit your heart and sink into the dark pit. 

“I’m sorry. It’s just, I haven’t talked about this with anyone in a long time. I didn’t think …” you’re trying to find the words to explain, it’s all just very hard. 

“You didn’t think I could care?” 

“No …” 

“You didn’t think I would understand?” 

“No, I don’t know. Hold on.” You push your hands against his chest to press the point you need him to stop. “Look, I want to explain to you, but you have to know that this was something I did a long time ago. I don’t … I don’t do this now.” 

He just stares at you. 

“A long time ago I was really struggling. I needed to figure out some things and it was all just so much to bear. So,” You roll up your sleeves and show him your arms. The light warms your skin and reminds you that these scars, while always there, had healed a long time ago. “I felt like this was the only thing that alleviated everything that was building up. Like they released the hurt. Do you understand?” 

You look at him with a pained expression. You want him to understand you. You want him to see that you are better now and that these things don’t define you. When he doesn’t say anything you return your gaze to your arms and back to the scars. 

When you see Diluc’s hands covering them, you look back at his face. He is giving you such a soft, compassionate expression. 

“I know what it feels like to be in pain. To want to block it all out and find some way to break through it. I understand.” He tracks your gaze as he speaks, if you look down, he dips his head, if you look away he pulls you back. “Thank you, for telling me.” 

“Mhm,” you respond, giving him a small smile. 

“And you don’t feel the need to do this anymore?” 

“No. Like I said, I found other ways to cope.” 

“Good.” He wrapped you in his arms, not caring at this moment if others saw you. He just wanted you to know you weren’t alone. 

“I will be here if things ever become painful again. Don’t forget that.” 

“I won’t. Thank you, Diluc.” 

Now that he knows, he doesn’t pay them any attention. He doesn’t linger on them, he doesn’t kiss them more than he would any other part of your body

He doesn’t bring them up

He doesn’t want you to feel reminded of your past, instead, he wants you to look forward to your future

I feel like Kaeya would be, like, hyperaware of how pretty you are. But not in a bad way! Like, he’d constantly catch himself thinking about how attractive he found you, and he’d always find himself admiring the details of your face and your body (respectfully!!)

I don’t think he’d make such a big deal about you being ‘too pretty for a boy.’ I mean, Kaeya himself is a prettyboy himself, so if anything he’s probably jealous of how pretty you are.

In a pre-relationship scenario, he’d flirt with you a lot. Like, every time you run into each other a lot. Honestly, even after you’ve gotten together, he’ll always meet you with a compliment.

“Hey, prettyboy, looking stunning as always. Anything you’re planning to do today? No? I would be honored if you were to accompany me for a walk around the city, then. With you by my side, I’m sure to attract envy from every citizen of Mondstadt.”

If he gets you flustered and embarrassed, not meeting his eyes and toying with your fingers, he’ll think you’re so cute. If he gets you with your arms crossed, frowning (or pouting) with an adorable furrow in your brow, he’ll think you’re so cute. 

If you openly embrace being a pretty / beautiful boy, Kaeya would totally bring you things to make you look even more pretty, like flowers that you can place into your hair, a flower crown, on slower days, or a set of gorgeous drop earrings.

He’d be so proud to be seen around Mondstadt with you, and his dramatic ass would probably flaunt you everywhere just to see people glare at him, wishing to be in his place.

If you get shit from any females or males who are envious of your beauty, who try to instill insecurity within you and try to fester within you a hate for your own prettiness, Kaeya would laugh in their face and call them out for their absurdity. He’d smirk at them, mirth in his eyes as he glances at you. To him, these people aren’t even worth acknowledging. Not when they spout such stupid things.

Overall, Kaeya would be such a good boo to his pretty boyfriend, and if you’re not particularly confident in how gorgeous you are, that’s fine. He’ll be confident for the two of you.

Oh, this man. Let it be known, i firmly headcanon that despite his aloof and cool persona, if Diluc is interested in someone, he turns into an absolute timid virgin. Like, yeah, he’ll still retain some coolness, right, but his inner dialogue is him slightly panicking whenever something has to do with you.

Among all of the characters here, i think that Diluc would underestimate your strength as a prettyboy the least. Like, the others wouldn’t view you as weak, of course, but i just think that Diluc would be the most hyperaware of how you’re incredibly gorgeous and simultaneously strong/talented/smart/etc. 

I feel like DIluc would always subtly watch out for you and would hear about you from others, but it would take him sometime to approach you. Not because he doesn’t want to talk! But because he isn’t sure if you wanted to talk to him. He probably think that because you’re so pretty and he’s,,, not, that you two wouldn’t be a good fit.

You’re probably the one who has to initiate the conversation, otherwise he’d just continue pining from afar. 

“Ah, it’s a pleasure to meet you. I’ve heard of your attractiveness–– er, effectiveness from all sorts of people around the city.”

Over time tho, Diluc’s image of you being a pretty (and talented, smart, etc.) person would be replaced by a more realistic version of you that he doesn’t hold on such a high pedestal anymore. Nevertheless, he thought with each passing day that you were more gorgeous than the last.

Diluc’s got that wine tycoon drip, so rest assured that he will get you anything you want, and that he would always compliment you on whatever you wear, whether it leans more to the feminine side, masculine, unisex, or just about anything, he thinks you look absolutely stunning in all of it.

Would not take any shit about you being ‘too pretty for a boy.’ If anyone dares to insult you with that idea in mind, he’s either going to throw them out of the bar or throw his hands. 

Male, female, either, or, neither, or what have you, noone will let you feel bad about how much of a pretty boy you are–– not on his watch. Diluc even finds himself frowning when he wonders when prettyboy started being an insult. After all, you were the prettiest boy he’s ever met, and he’s so grateful to be with you.

To be fair, i think Childe is himself also a prettyboy who’s aelf-aware of how attractive he is, so he can appreciate your beauty in ways some other people might not be able to.

The MOST bold oh my god. He even outdoes Kaeya in the outright flirting, i think.

Childe will undoubtedly approach you ASAP, complimenting you immediately. Depending on how your react to his clear interest will determine how hard he goes in asking you out to dinner. Your beauty isn’t something that should be tainted with uncomfortability, after all. 

“Oh? If I may be so bold, what might a man as pretty as yourself be doing all alone? Well, if you have no plans, would you allow me to take you out to dinner? Surely someone as stunning as yourself is right at home in the most opulent of restaurants.”

Child would be similar to Kaeya in the sense that he’ll compliment you a whole bunch. However, while Kaeya’s compliments can come off as poetic most of the time, Childe’s often comes off as more... cheesy. Endearing, of course! But definitely cheesy. 

If you agree to go out with him, congrats: you’ve got yourself a sugar daddy.

He’ll bring you out to the most lavish places, and he’ll let you run wild in designer boutiques all across Liyue. And the clothes and accessories that are available there are nothing to sneeze at, either.

Although he still has to be on good behaviour due to the strained diplomatic relations the Fatui and Liyue have had due to the whole Osial incident, he would not miss a beat in approaching the offender, maybe clasping their hand in a too-tight grip, a cold smile on his face and an even colder look in his eyes, ‘politely’ requesting they apologize with faux cheerfulness. If they do, great. They’d better leave, though. But if they don’t apologize, he’d not let his facade slip, but he’d escort you out of the place, your wellbeing more important that seeking vengeance at the moment, but he would not forget this transgression.
