i really enjoy the romantic subplots of metal gear because sometimes it’s the hypothetical scenario in which it was adam and not eve who was most vulnerable to the snake and the snake was simply seductive and never intended to give anyone the pivotal apple and thus it was humanity’s own folly and ability to love that eventually destroyed the world and sometimes it’s a metaphor for the titanic in which jack and rose are perfect for each other and the ship will sail on forever but an unforeseen danger such as an iceberg leaves permanent cracks and in the end rose cares more about surviving than loving and then sometimes it’s “I met my husband because he peed his pants in a locker and then talked to me about anime and we’ve been in love ever since”
