Warnings: None!
A/N: hey guys 😛
He’s definitely a tough love kind of guy
He focuses on your needs and what’s good for you, even if you don’t like it
Katsuki pushes you to be better, but in the eyes of other people it sometimes seems like he doesn’t treat you well
Acts of service is how he shows his love
He cooks for you, he’ll sometimes do and fold your laundry, he’ll tidy up your room..
You never have to worry about changing your sheets because he does it whenever he changes his
Sometimes if you’re not around, he’ll go into your sock drawer and match up all the pairs
He’ll iron your uniform, too.
He’s honestly big about boundaries-if he does something that you say you don’t like he won’t do it again unless you say he can
He’s not too good with love, so he’s just trying not to mess it up
He’s not the touchiest person, but he’ll let you cling to him if you want to
He’ll hold your hand in public if you want him to but typically that’s as far as he goes
Other people assume it’s because he sees PDA as weakness, when in reality he just thinks affection is something that should be private
He’s much more open to it in private. When it’s just you two he’ll gladly hold you and kiss you
He gives those really painful massages that have you writhing in pain (it’s worth it)
You and Katsuki have the worst arguments..when it happens the entire dorm can hear it
He didn’t grow up with gentle love (just look at his mother) so he has to learn how to disagree calmly
Katsuki not having some super sad backstory does not mean he has a healthy relationship with his feeling
But, truth be told, he hates yelling at you. Especially if you’re not the yelling type of person
There’s a lot of patience required on both sides of the relationship
It gets better with time though!
[comm] sasunaru you will always be famous
You heard voices.
Voices that sounded terrified.
"Omigod! Is she okay!?"
"Get her sitting up, Bakugo!"
"I know, dammit! I am, I am!"
You blinked blearily, lights coming through your cracked eyelids. You let out a breathy little noise, as if you found your breath again. You saw Katsuki's face first, a look of worry etched on his features. He was kneeling, holding you up.
You then saw Ochaco, Mina and Izuku along with a few other unrecognizable people standing around. Some were obviously looking at the spectacle. Your head still felt like it was stuffed with cotton, and you looked around. "...wha?" You managed to ask.
"De-...Izuku found you sliding against the wall." Katsuki said, sounding slightly pissed. "What the hell, (y/n)?? What's going on?"
"Kacchan, be nice." Izuku kneeled down to your level, reaching out a hand. Katsuki drew you closer. "Kacchan. I'm gonna check her pulse. Nothing else."
He clicked his tongue, and loosened your hold. As Izuku slipped two fingers against your neck, Mina spoke up.
"I'm gonna see what's taking the medics so long." She said. Ochaco went with her, throwing you one last worried look.
"Kacchan." Izuku finally spoke up. "Shes got a high pulse. Like...really high."
You felt Katsuki's chin move to look up at his rival. "What?"
"Like, 120 beats per minute." He looked at your half conscious state, and back at Katsuki. "She needs to go to the hospital."
"...What?" Katsuki echoed again. "...No,she's, shes fine-" he brought his own fingers to the pulse of your neck. His eyes widened after a few moments. "Holy shit."
"Yeah." Izuku nodded.
Katsuki never panicked. He prided himself on that. He didn't even panic when you went into labor.
But this? You never fainted. You never had any health issues. Hell, even when you were hurt in battles or training, you got back up with a shit eating grin, ready to go out and fight again.
This was...different.
He looked at your face. It was perspiring, your eyes half lidded as you breathed quickly. You trembled slightly.
Mina suddenly was heard, telling people to 'make way, or I'll make you make way!' And you noticed three medics. Izuku made room, explaining to the one medic what he witnessed. Katsuki continued to hold you, still in disbelief at what was happening.
You saw a light being shone in your eyes and you squinted, and another feeling of something being slipped over your arm, and squeezing. "Ma'am, can you tell me your name?"
"...(y/n) Bakugo..." you said, your voice tired.
"Great, and the year?"
As you answered basic questions, Katsuki cut in. "Oi, what's wrong with my wife? Can I take her outta here??" He asked, his voice sounding a tad bit unsure.
"We don't know sir, but we really think she should at least stay in the hospital for a few hours-"
"What the hell!?" Katsuki cried out, Izuku holding his shoulder.
"Kacchan, let them do their job!"
You didn't have the energy to scold your husband. But you could tell he was worried. And when he was worried, he acted out.
You finally felt the pressure in your arm go away. "Her blood pressure is a bit high-and she's post partum. We'll take her in the ambulance-"
"The hell!? I can take her-"
There was bickering, and your eyes fluttered. You heard one of the paramedics calling your name, and Katsuki's grip tightening. You couldn't seem to keep awake.
That was fine.
This was all fine.
You let the darkness take ahold of you, and the sweet silence of it all.
You awoke about an hour later, the smell of a sterile environment stinging your nose. Bleach and alcohol.
You slowly sat up, the small blanket draped over you fell to the wayside.
What happened??
You looked at the I.V. in your arm, and the heart monitor you were attached to. Your chest ached, needing to be emptied. You were alone.
The steady beep of the monitor grounded you as you sat back.
Great. Some comeback you made. The make up on your face felt cloying by now, and the several pins in your hair irritated your tired scalp. You reached up, taking the pins out one by one, depositing them on your lap.
Your sinuses and eyes burned with unshed tears, each Bobby pin bringing you closer to collapse. Your hair came out stiffly, crunchy from the gallons of hairspray it was in. You licked your lips, the waxy taste of lipstick heavy on your tongue.
You felt like you hit rock bottom.
"....Shit." you muttered, bringing a shaking hand to each earlobe, taking out the pearl earrings, along with the necklace. They hit the Bobby pins, and a small clatter sounded. You ruffled your hair, your scalp finding relief in the action, despite the gallons of product clinging to it.
You should've stayed home.
Forget about being a hero. Forget about your image, the media, the public...
Suddenly, a wash of rage seeped into you.
See? This is what happens when you go out. Your body aches. Your boobs ache. You're weak and-
A knock on the door interrupted your thoughts. A nurse came in, smiling softly. "Hi, Bakugo san. Or, did you want me to call you (h/n)?"
"...The former is fine." You said quietly. (H/n)...wasn't you.
Would that ever be you again?
"Okay. Bakugo san." She sat on the edge of the bed. "How are you feeling? You gave alot of people a scare." She said kindly. You looked up at her.
Truthfully? You ached. You were sore. You wanted your baby and you wanted to stay in your home and never ever show your face again and-
"I'm...okay." you then added, "could....I have my hand pump in my bag? I'm breast feeding and-"
"Oh, of course. Let me get that for you." She went to the side where a sink was, with your things. She handed the clutch to you, and you smiled politely in thanks.
"Is...it alright if I..?" You trailed off, and the nurse nodded.
"Quite alright. You're fine."
As you covered yourself while you pumped, she began to explain what was wrong. "It seems your blood pressure skyrocketed for a little while. We're ruling out all the factors like hypertension and pre-eclampsia-"
"But I'm four months out." You said. She nodded.
"Right. But sometimes it can happen after pregnancy ends. Your body is still recovering. Alot of changes have happened to your body, and now it's trying to regulate itself again. Spikes in blood pressure can occur. Pre-eclampsia can happen after birth, but usually after six weeks you're in the clear. What we do think," she paused, trying to find the right words, "is that you aren't getting enough rest. From what your husband has told me-"
"Is he here?" You asked quickly. She gave a small smile.
"Yes, but he's talking to a doctor right now about your condition-"
"Condition? If it's just stress-"
"We don't think its just stress." She said quietly, her hand placed on your thigh, "we think you need to be evaluated for post partum depression."
Your world stopped.
You? Post partum depression? But....no, that meant you weren't capable. That you couldn't take care of your baby. And Katsuki-
"No, I don't think so. I just was tired-"
"Ma'am-"
You began to tremble. She looked over at the monitor, the beeping a little faster now. "Try to take some breaths-"
"Heroes don't get-they don't get post partum depression. *I* don't get depression of any kind, and I'm capable of taking care of my child!" You stated strongly.
"Of course you are! No one is saying-"
You interrupted her, "I just...need to sleep this off." You said. She nodded.
"Well...if you'd like, we can prescribe you some medicine, and a psychologist that specializes in this sort of thing." She gently handed her a paper from her chart. "Here. You don't have to do it right away-but think on it." She was kind.
You shouldn't have lashed out. You stared at the paper in your lap. "...Okay." you said softly. As she left, she smiled.
"The first year is always the hardest. I'll let your husband know you're awake." She said quietly, and left. The door clicked shut, and all you were left with was the sound of the heart monitor and your hand pump.
It was a quiet drive home. Katsuki's tie was undone, hanging on his neck. He looked like he was thinking too hard, one hand on the wheel, the other propping his chin up. You felt shame and anger, worry and sadness all at once. The care packet they gave you on taking care of yourself and mental health after birth mocked you, and the hot brand it came with.
After a bit, he pulled off into a combini parking lot. You didn't look up as you heard the gear shift into park. He sat back in his seat, staring ahead.
"...What can I do?" He asked quietly. You still didn't look up.
Sure. There was plenty. He could take less patrols. He could take less nights. He could do alot, alot you couldn't even think of.
You couldn't ask him to do that. Give up his work? No.
"...I dunno." Your brain answered on autopilot.
"Then dammit what is it?!" He slammed his fist on the steering wheel, making you flinch. "I feel like an idiot because half the people I talk to that see you say you're not yourself, and now I have doctors telling me to get my ass in gear and open my eyes-"
"I'M FINE!" You suddenly screamed, and startled the blonde. You rarely screamed.
It was like a cork popped.
"I'M FINE. I CAN DO THIS! WOMEN ALL OVER THE FUCKING WORLD CAN DO THIS, EVEN WITHOUT A SPOUSE OR IN-LAWS OR WHATEVER AND THEY'RE FINE! SO WHAT IF I DON'T KNOW WHO I AM ANYMORE!? SO WHAT IF I CAN'T SLEEP OR CAN'T THINK STRAIGHT!? SO...So....so what if..." you're screams turned to sobs. " So what if I'm not myself anymore? I don't even know *how* to be myself anymore. I'm...I don't even feel like I'm a person anymore. Do you know what that feels like!? The....there was a photographer who literally told me I wasn't the demographic they wanted in their magazine. On *women* heroes. I'm not a hero in anyone's eyes anymore! I'm...I'm *no one* but the woman who gave birth and now can't even go out with her friends! All our friends don't get half the shit I'm going through!" You couldn't stop the word vomiting.
"I can't even explain it to them! They all looked so....and...." you hiccuped. "I....Katsuki, I can't-" you wailed. "I just wanna be the woman I once was!"
He got out of the car. You thought he was leaving you to sob privately, but he opened up the door to your side. He unbuckled you, and held you, kneeling on the pavement as he hugged your midsection. You just sobbed.
"This...this ain't normal baby blues shit, is it?" He said quietly. You shook your head, hugging his head.
"I-I guess not." You said in between wet hiccups. You felt awful. "M'sorry. I'm...I'm just awful, huh?"
"No." He stated bluntly. "No, you're not. You're....you're going through it. Alot of it...I'm...not there for. I know it, you know it, everyone knows it. I thought..." he hugged you tighter, "I thought I could just keep doing what I'm doing. That you could handle it on your own and...I could tag in when you asked."
"But...you never asked. So I thought you just had some dumb baby blues shit and I could take care of it easily. Get my parents to watch Katsumi, and you do shit. But I guess that wasn't the whole answer." He said quietly. "I guess...I gotta just do, instead of waiting to be needed. It's not like hero work, is it?"
You shook your head. "...No. I think...hero work might be easier than this."
Another silent moment. Then;
"Baby blues is such a fucked up term." You found yourself saying, followed by a sniffle. He sighed.
"I guess it is." He looked up at you. You looked down. "...Babe."
"Katsuki."
There was beat of silence between you both.
"...What do I gotta do?" He said. "Cause...this seems bigger than me. Than you."
"Its....I don't think I'm-"
"You passed out in front of everyone and you literally just crashed out. Don't tell me you ain't some kind of way. If you have post partum depression or whatever, we're gonna fix it. You *and* me. I'm a pro hero, dammit. But I'm now a dad. And a husband. Those two come first now. And I'll be damned if I'm caught slipping again and letting you down." He got up from the hug, and went back to the driver's side. "Look. We're gonna get you help. You're gonna beat this, and you're gonna be fine."
You swallowed. "...I'm sorry."
He grunted. "Don't gotta be sorry for shit." He started the car. "You're my wife. I want you back, happy and healthy. But you're also a mom now. It's like I said before. You can't be the same, but I'm just gonna love you more." He said, voice gravely.
Like he was holding back something. You looked over at him he gripped the wheel.
"...Katsuki."
His eyes flicked to you. "What?"
"...Are....you okay?"
He flexed his fingers on the wheel. "...I'd say yes. But you'd catch onto that shit. You..." he sighed. "You scared me. Thought I was gonna loose you tonight. It's my fault you were there. I let-I let the damn media and other people pressure me to get you out there and-" he gritted his teeth, jaw flexed. "And I told you it would be fine. And it wasn't. You weren't ready and I *knew* that. But I thought it was mind over matter shit. I thought it was gonna be fine. You'd look beautiful as usual and we'd have some time away from it all and..." he pressed his forehead into the wheel. "And I let you down. I didn't think. And that's my slip up. And look what happened. You pushed yourself and ended up in the hospital because you're exhausted and your brain's fried." He sighed. "...because I thought everything was fine."
You looked away.
"If anyone should say sorry...its me." He looked at you fully. His eyes looked...
Worried.
Scared.
Like he almost lost something and was about to loose it again.
"I'm so sorry, (y/n). Please..." he swallowed, his Adam's apple bobbed. "I'm...not asking you to forgive me right away. I know I dropped the ball, big time. But...dammit. If you're hurting...tell me."
You stared at him. "...Yeah. I-I am. I...I hurt alot." You admitted quietly.
He let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. "Okay..." he said softly. "...Okay. Let's...let's get you home. We'll get my parents to drop off Katsumi and I'll handle her for the night." He put the car in drive. "And I'll be there. When you feed her. I'll change her. I'll do this right." He slid out of the parking lot smoothly. "I'll do right by you."
You pressed your head to the cool glass of the window.
"Okay, Kats." You said softly, closing your eyes. "...okay."
As the engine hummed, you realized for a moment something.
"How'd you get the car? We took a limo to the event."
"Had one of my sidekicks grab it from the apartment." He said, and sighed. "Dumbass nearly scratched it at the hospital, almost ran it against an ambulance car."
You snorted, then chuckled. Then laughed. And he found himself laughing, too.
Maybe.
Maybe things would be okay again.
It was a step. But it was there, and that's what mattered most.
((Had to reach inside my guts for this one. Funny story, (but not really) I crashed out in a 7-11 parking lot with my husband after not sleeping for a week. And then he kinda was like....'oh shit you aren't okay'. And I was like...'please help', and vomited in his car! Yay. Postpartum depression and anxiety, everyone! God I love meaty stories. I love it when they don't shy away from the reality of it all. Sorry, I rambled again! Let me know what you think! Story isnt over yet!))
((TW: post partum issues, body self esteem issues, talk of breastfeeding, negative talk about self. Minors DNI.))
Katsumi was *adorable*. At 4 months, her carmine eyes had come in beautifully, and her full head of (h/c) hair, the same as yours swirled and spiked on her pretty little head.
She cooed as you fed her, for the 3rd time that night. Being an exclusively breast fed baby meant you were a milk machine 24-7.
Which also meant Katsuki was free to do his pro hero work at any time.
When he went back to work (a week. The workaholic went back on patrols a week after Katsumi was born. You were less than pleased.), you obviously had taken the brunt of...everything.
Sure, Mitsuki and Masaru visited and helped where they could- but you were the food source, the comfort, the *mother*. And at her age? Mom trumped everyone else.
However, the big day was about to happen. You were going to have a day to yourself, and Katsuki was going to take you out to dinner. Katsumi could take a bottle, thankfully-so she would be watched by Katsuki's parents.
You had taken a maternity leave from your pro hero work, so you hadn't really been outside (aside from Katsumi's doctor appointments) since her birth.
And it was nerve wracking. As you put her back in her bassinet, you couldn't help but worry.
What if you got engorged?
What if Katsumi was inconsolable?
What if she got sick?
What if she-
The door clicked open slowly. You sat up quickly, a hand hovering over Katsumi's sleeping form, ready to protect her.
"Relax. Its me." A familiar gruff voice said, unusually quiet. You let out a soft sigh.
"Katsuki. Geez." You sighed. He began to peel his costume off.
"I got about three hours of sleep I can get in before next patrols. So can you make sure the brat doesn't wake me up?" He asked, and you withheld your tongue.
As if you had gotten any consistent sleep the past months.
"Sure." You said quietly, settling back into bed. He ruffled your hair.
"Thanks. Night." He slipped in, and soon enough he was out.
You wanted to cry. Scream. Wring that stupid neck of his.
You took a breath. Maybe you shouldn't go out. Katsumi needed you here. Right?
No, you needed this. Everyone insisted.
So why did you feel so bad about it??
A few hours after Katsuki left for his agency, Mitsuki and Masaru came by to pick up Katsumi. As you adjusted her carseat once more, you began to explain things. You reached over, taking the bag you had packed that early morning.
"So here's three bottles and some frozen milk in case she wants more. Every three hours she gets like, about 5 ounces-so a full bottle, but she can eat more!" You said, handing Mitsuki her diaper bag, packed to bursting with everything you thought she might need. Mitsuki eyed the bag.
"This is....really heavy!" She chuckled, a bit suprised at the heft of it.
"Better overprepared than under!" You smiled. Masaru and Mitsuki looked at eachother.
"Right, well. We'll be off. Don't worry about a thing, (y/n)! She's gonna be just fine!" Mitsuki said, tapping the hood of their car.
Katsumi made a noise, and you flew to her side. "Oh, it's okay! You're gonna spend time with grandma and grandpop!!" You cooed, and Katsumi looked disgruntled. You frowned. "M-maybe...I can get her to calm down if I'm there-"
"(Y/n), relax!! You're running yourself ragged! Katsuki told us you barely even bathe! That's no good!" Mitsuki pushed her back to the door of her and Katsuki's apartment. "Just leave it to us! Katsumi's in great hands!"
"Okay. But my phone's on! And if I need to feed her instead of the bottle-"
Mitsuki closed the door. You stared at the door blankly, and heard the engine of their car roll away.
Well.
You stared down at the genkan, then shuffled a little. You gave a sniff in the air.
Oh. You smelled like milk, sweat and diaper cream.
Maybe...a bath couldn't hurt...
You hadn't really *looked* at yourself in the mirror for a hot minute. You stared at yourself in the bathroom mirror. Your eyes looked tired, baggy and slightly red. Your skin had dry patches all over, and was.. that a pimple?? Your hair was dull and dry, but that wasn't the worst of it. You backed up, looking at your torso.
Oh god.
Where there was once a toned stomach, now was soft. Squishy. And...what were those lines?!
Stretchmarks!? Well. That made sense. And your boobs?? Once decent and perky, now like pancakes, nipples cracked slightly. Breastfeeding did a number on them, that was for sure.
What had happened to the sexy, pro hero (h/n)?? You barely recognized yourself. You felt like a pile of flesh, flabby and used up. You found yourself squatting down, flopping on the small shower stool. You felt the rolls squish and undulate as you sat down, and you felt worse. You quickly showered yourself off, avoiding looking at the mirror. You didn't even want to look at your...nether regions. It probably wasn't too good-looking either.
As you set yourself in the tub, you couldn't seem to enjoy it. You felt like a cow, probably smelled like one, and you were certainly producing milk like one.
No wonder Katsuki worked constantly.
"No, stop that." You said to yourself. Katsuki wouldn't be so vain. And he *cried* when Katsumi was born. There was no way he wasn't happy with his new little family.
You tried to think positively. As you got out of the bathtub, you dried yourself off quickly, going to the bedroom.
You had been wearing pj's and lounge clothes for months. You wondered if you could fit into your regular clothes now.
You stared at your jeans. "I'm sure I can fit into these..." one leg in, and the other followed.
Tight. You struggled with the button. Did....did your hips get wider?? You were careful during pregnancy with what you ate, and stayed active. And even though you still had to eat more calories due to breastfeeding, you hardly ate junk.
But here you were, barely fitting into your old clothes before the pregnancy. Once you squeezed yourself in, you grimaced.
Muffin top city. Population? You.
You immediately shucked off the offending material. You threw open your closet.
Soon, piles of your pre-pregnancy clothes were piled on the unmade bed. You had slid down the closet door, naked and feeling even worse than before. Nothing fit right. You didn't even want to think about how your hero costume would fit once you came back from maternity leave.
Would anyone even take you seriously?
You felt awful.
You swallowed back tears, and slowly got up. You went to your dresser, picking out a nursing bra and your maternity underwear. You felt like a leaky grandma, with the granny panties covering your pooch, and the bra wasn't exactly meant for a sexy lift, either. You slipped in some nursing pads, and grabbed some maternity pants and one of Katsuki's tshirts.
You threw your hair up in a messy bun, and went off to pump the milk now making your breasts feel tight.
Katsuki found you on the couch, snoring away. He kicked off his boots in the genkan, looking up at the clock. 5:39. "...Babe?" He looked down at you, leaning onto the back of the couch.
He sighed. He knew you needed the break. You probably hadn't slept right in months. He went to pull over a blanket over you, until he saw two dark spots on your chest.
Uh oh.
"...Oi, (y/n), wake up. Yer leakin'." He said, shaking your shoulder a little. Your eyes fluttered open, and he smirked. "Hey. You got a situation." He pointed to your chest. You looked down.
Crap.
You felt your boobs and sighed. You were full. Again. "Let me...go pump. I'll be back." You sighed, throwing off the now soiled shirt and bra, turning away to go to the bedroom.
Katsuki looked. He smiled softly at you.
There was the woman who he fell in love with. The woman who was the mother of his child, who he watched become something even more amazing than a hero. A mom. He remembered it like it was yesterday. You, giving birth to his child-sweat, tears and blood, shouting only once or twice in exhaustion. You had held onto his hand like a vice, he had never seen such determination from you. Not even when you did your pro hero work.
You were a goddess. You were amazing. You were *his*.
Not once did he see the flaws as flaws. Stretchmarks were like his scars from his high school years. Badges of honor. Your softer form felt warm and so *right*. And your boobs? Well...he had often gotten unusually jealous of their daughter once or twice, let's just leave it at that.
You felt his eyes staring at you. You turned. "What?"
"I love you."
The room went silent. Katsuki usually only said those words when something big was going on. Like their wedding. Or when she told him she was pregnant. Or when Katsumi was born. It wasn't because he didn't love you, no-far from it. He was a man of action and little words when it came to romance.
You found yourself crying. You crouched to the floor. He went to you, wrapping you up in his arms.
You found yourself word vomiting.
You found yourself admitting to him all your pains, your dark thoughts, your feelings of inadequacy and self loathing. He didn't shush you. He just rocked you back and forth as you cried.
You didn't think motherhood would be so lonely, so...sad. You didn't know if your old self would come back or not.
"What're you saying? Of course it won't." Katsuki suddenly said. You blinked away tears.
"H-huh?" You stuttered.
"I mean...You're always gonna be you. But...you also changed. You have to. People change all the time. You just....changed in a bigger way. You're a mom now. You can't stay the same. But..." he sighed. "Youre...You're beautiful. You keep getting more and more beautiful, and I..." he rubbed his forehead, his other arm still holding you to his chest. "...I feel like I'm falling in love with you all over again." He mumbled, ears turning red. You found yourself blushing. He swallowed. "Look, I'm shit at words-you know that. But where you see all that crappy stuff, I see a warrior. The woman I fell in love with all those years ago back in U.A . I see who you've become-and I still don't get how you can make me act like a lovesick idiot, even now. Dammit, woman!" He huffed. "You don't even know what you do to me, and here you are, thinking you're some sort of fat cow?! That's not just insulting to you. That's insulting to me." He suddenly narrowed his eyes. "How dare you insult my wife and my child's mother."
You trembled. Suddenly, you felt that hot, gooey feeling in the pit of your stomach. He scooped you up, and you squeaked. "K-katsuki! W-wait! I'm top less and I gotta pump-"
"Oh. Don't worry about that, babe." Katsuki smirked. "I'll take care of that...". You blushed. As he walked into the bedroom with you in his arms, you suddenly realized what he meant.
Oh dear.
((Okay. This is purely self-indulgent. As a mom with a now 15 month old, I really poured myself into this. What reader is experiencing I totally felt, and still felt. I actually cried a little when I got to the self depreciation scene. Because that was me. It's still me. Post partum is a bitch. Motherhood tested me so much, and still does. It probably won't make much sense to you till you actually go through it, but it's crazy. Ironically, I was breastfeeding my kid while I wrote half of this. So...maybe this is also a love letter to myself and to any mom's on here still trying to find themselves. Also, you can't tell me Katsuki wouldn't be crying silent tears while holding his kid, you just can't convince me otherwise. Should I do a part two?))

a/n: REUPLOADED FROM OLD BLOG. A comfort Drabble…
“Katsuki? What’s wrong? It’s three AM. This better be important,” Mitsuki’s voice is heavy with sleep and annoyance but under the tone is worry.
Katsuki sighs. “No uhh…nothin’s wrong. I’m safe and stuff it’s fine,” he mutters into the receiver.
Mitsuki is a lot of things: stubborn, loud, aggressive, determined, fastidious. But one thing she is not, is an idiot. Which is why she knows, despite her son calling her at three AM and saying he’s ok she knows he’s not.
“Katsuki?” She repeats, gentler this time. She can’t remember the last time she spoke this gently to him. Perhaps when he was two and learning to walk. She’d spoke softly “It’s alright Katsuki. Come on get up, try again.”
She hears him sigh again, hears his bed creak, hears him lick his lips and if she’s not mistaken the sound of light snoring in the background.
So he’s found someone. That’s nice. She’d be lying if she said she didn’t worry about that. About him being too undesirable. She’d have taken full responsibility for that. But he isn’t and she makes a mental note to thank whoever it is that chose to be with her boy.
If he ever brings them to meet her that is.
“I uhh…I just wanted ta say thanks,” Katsuki grumbles and Mitsuki audibly gasps. This is very new.
Who is this man and what has he done with her son?
“You called…at three AM to say thank you? For umm..for what exactly? I don’t remember sending anything in the mail. Your birthday is still a few months away! I still have time to get a gift I’m not late like your father sugge—“
“No it ain’t…” he takes a deep breath in and out and again Mitsuki gasps. He’s trying to calm himself down. That’s also new. “It ain’t that. I just wanted to say thanks for bein’ my Ma.” He finishes the sentence in a rush.
And then it’s quiet on both ends of the line as mother and son sit in disbelief on the phone. And then Mitsuki clears her throat.
“Oh well…umm…you’re welcome. Thanks for being a dynamite kid…” she chuckles and when he doesn’t say anything she tacks on “Get it? Cuz your hero name?”
She’s gracious when he finally chuckles. “You’re such a dork Ma,” he says through a tired whispered laugh.
“If I’m a dork, then so are you. That’s how genetics work,” she fires back.
It’s quiet again before she swallows a lump in her throat and plucks up the courage to ask him.
“Where did this come from Katsuki?”
He sighs again, the bed creaks again and this time the snoring is louder in Mitsuki’s ear. He must’ve moved closer to the sleeping person.
“Just…I got someone…someone who’s really fucking good and I got lucky when she chose me but uhh…tonight she told me somethin’ and I don’t know…after she told me and I saw her…saw her kinda crumple into herself or something. Like she uhh…like she broke. You ever see a person break?” He asks.
Mitsuki nods as she listens intently, then fumbles when she realizes he can’t actually see her nodding. “Yeah uhh…loads of models during fashion week. It’s a nightmare for them. I’ve had to talk a few off the edge,” she explains with a dark chuckle.
“Yeah…well picture that but like watching it happen to Dad,” Katsuki mutters. Mitsuki’s breath catches in her throat. Just the thought of seeing her husband, the light in her life, her Masaru, broken like that makes her put a hand over her chest as it aches.
“I see,” is all she replies back.
“Anyway, after she told me I just…knew I needed ta call ya. So yeah… I just wanted ta say thanks…or whatever.”
Katsuki finishes his sentence and Mitsuki hears a soft smack of lips as he kisses the woman he’s sleeping with. She sighs, and Mitsuki can hear her murmur his name sweetly in her sleep. Her voice sounds lovely, sweet enough to melt her prickly son’s demeanor.
Mitsuki smiles to herself, and then she hears Katsuki yawn. “You should get some rest Katsuki,” she says motherly.
“Yeah yeah I will. Sorry for wakin’ ya,” he grumbles.
“Before you go…” Mitsuki says quickly.
“Yeah?”
“Bring her for dinner, next weekend. Your father will make your favorite,” she requests.
Katsuki stays quiet for a while, no doubt he’s contemplating whether he’s ready for his partner to meet his mother but then he sighs.
“Yeah…yeah ok fine. I mean…she could use some motherly love.”

『♡』 Post-Partum urinary incontinence is the bane of your existence, ruining everything, but Katsuki kisses you like it doesn’t matter.
『♡』 having a baby and all that comes with it, post partum anxiety, urinary incontinence, comfort, suggestive scene, insecurity, healthy relationship, pet names : bunny, angel, baby, f!reader
You keep peeing on yourself and it’s fucking infuriating. The stitches have healed and you’re coming along nicely but you just keep peeing on yourself.
You love Hana, her pretty little blonde curls and red eyes. You love her giggles and her cries, even when she makes you cry. But you keep peeing on yourself and it’s the most embarrassing part of having a baby thus far.
Katsuki doesn’t mind, he laughs a little with the baby in his arms when you shove her to him. He watches you waddle to the bathroom grumbling and muttering curses.
It really doesn’t bother him, but it bothers you.
Hana stretched your pelvic floor to hell and back and now, as the doctor said it, you have urinate incontinence.
You change your pad in a haste, wiping gently with a baby wipe and look in the mirror. A cry comes from the other room and you shoot out, darting toward your husband.
“What happened?!” You bite, rushing over to the pair.
Nothing. Nothing happened. Hana is happily sucking down a bottle of breast milk in her fathers arms. She’s getting milk drunk, happy as can be, and he’s bouncing her and humming.
“What’re you talkin’ about baby?” Katsuki mumbles, head tilted to look at your eyes.
“I-I thought I heard her crying..” You mumble and he gives you a pitiful look.
Katsuki moves to sit on the couch, flicking on some random shoujo anime he swears he doesn’t watch. And you follow suit, sitting next to him on the black leather.
His spare arm wraps around you, pulling you closer to his body. His other thick, muscular arm holds Hana and the bottle. He’s gotten amazing at that, multitasking.
Plush lips come down to the top of your head and he murmurs reassurance. You turn and curl into him, breathing in the familiar scent of him.
It’s interesting, smelling the mix of caramel and baby powder all at once. It isn’t something you though you’d find comfort in until now. You feel with your arm for the throw blanket and drape it over the two of you.
“What’s wrong angel?” He ponders, watching the way you close your eyes slowly and sigh in response.
The anime girls on the show are confessing their undying love with roses and bento boxes. It’s kind of cute.
Hana let’s out a satisfied noise and he pulls the bottle from her mouth with a pop, setting it to the side. You lick your thumb and wipe the excess milk from her face and giggle at her features scrunching up in disagreement.
“Just.. worried? What if something happens, you know? And and i- I can’t stop freaking peeing on myself. Even if it’s just a little. I don’t see why you’d be interested in me when I’m constantly- just- yeah.” You let out, breathless and frustrated.
Katsuki hums, leaning down to kiss your forehead. He unwraps his heavy arm from around your middle and turns, lifting your face using his thumb and hand. And he kisses you.
He kisses you deep and slow, sighing into it. And he breaks away when Hana makes a noise, bouncing her momentarily before going back in.
His lips are so soft and remind you of the first time you ever kissed. It reminds you of the day he asked you to marry you. The day he found out you were pregnant.
And his tongue is hot and heavy in your mouth. Patiently exploring and soothing the deep need in your bones to feel wanted.
“I don’t care that you’re peeing on yourself. I don’t care that you need to wear pads cause of it n’ I damn sure haven’t lost interest.” He breaks the kiss, forehead pressing to yours.
You open your mouth, then close it again, then speak.
“But you haven’t touched me..” You whisper, tears pricking your eyes.
“Oh bunny, is that what this is about?” He rasps, worried and kissing over your cheeks where tears begin to spill.
You nod and tremble in his grip.
“The only reason I haven’t fucked you on every surface in our house, haven’t licked every inch of your body, is because you’ve been tired, baby.” His thumb brushes over your lip and he kisses you again, softly.
“I’ve seen how much work you’ve been doing with Hana n’ all. And you’ve been so upset with yourself cause of the peeing situation I thought’cha weren’t ready, angel.” He explains.
Relief washes over your features and you sigh, weight lifted from your chest. You grab him by the jaw and kiss him as hard as you can. He deepens it, and only breaks when Hana begins to make noise.
“Is that- is that really why ?” You murmur, eyes wide and full of hope.
Katsuki nods, crimson eyes boring into your own. His arm bounces your daughter over and over, keeping her snoozing against the fat near his pec.
You spend some time watching the anime, drinking water and lightly snacking. Mundane things, domestic things. Everything that makes life worth it.
He gets up, walking through the house and into the nursery and places her in the crib for her nap time. When he gets back, Katsuki all but slings you into his lap.
You don’t have sex, but the shoujo anime is drowned out in the back regardless. He takes his time with you, exploring new ridges and curves of your body.
Momentarily, you worry about the pad pressing against him. Just how embarrassing it is, at least to you. But that goes away when he kisses up your throat and groans out a praise.
“You’re the sexiest thing on this planet.” He declares, nipping at your jaw, fingers digging into the plush of fat above your hip.
“So glad I made you a momma..” He murmurs, kissing your mouth. And you look to find him staring at you with love struck eyes, looking over your entire body.
He looks between you and let’s put a breathy sigh watching your hips rock into his. Satisfied, he tries to take it a little bit further.
And you forgot about all the water you had. You forgot about the fact that you’ll pee on yourself a little too easily.
So he jostles you, pulling you down so he can get a little more friction. And when he tries to adjust himself by scooching up more, your thin pad gets soaked through.
You screech, embarrassed that you just wet yourself while making out with your husband. It reminds you all too well of every little awkward thing you’ve ever done.
And he doesn’t care, he just ignores it, for a moment. Grabs you by the back of the head and kisses you nice and deep, squeezing your ass. He pats then, telling you to go ahead and change.
When you come back, you don’t notice that he’s changed his sweats to the most similar he could find. You don’t need to know that it got on his pants.
hi!! i really like your work and i was wondering if you could do like a katsuki bakugou x reader where bakugou is putting the reader at risk of being harmed because of her being one of his loved ones and then bakugou purposely fights with the reader and then just walks out on her thinking it’s for the better and then a couple weeks later the reader finds out she’s pregnant and keeps the child a secret for a couple years until she runs into bakugou and then he wants a do-over or something like that 🥹

Getting with Katsuki Bakugou was a dream come true. You two had been through thick and thin, and you had it all. Great jobs, a home together, and a strong relationship. Everything seemed perfect in your eyes, until one day Katsuki decided it wasn't enough for him.
Well, it was enough for him. It was more than enough actually. He loved you with all his heart and wanted a future with you, but doing that would put you at risk.
Ever since he was a little boy and dreamed of being a hero, he was warned of the risks the job came with. Not only would he be in great danger, but his loved ones too.
For a long time he believed he was strong enough to take on the world and every villain it had, no matter the threats they made towards him.
In his entire career, no villain had ever threatened a loved one of his, until recently. A damned villain had brought you up in the midst of the fight, spewing all kinds of bullshit he'd do to you that Katsuki would never want to even imagine.
For the first time in a long time, Katsuki reached a breaking point.
The disgusting things that villain said about you made him realize that he couldn't continue putting you in danger like this, so he had to find a way to end things.
He knew you wouldn't accept the real reasoning behind the break up, so he had to come up with something else.
You sat across the kitchen table from Katsuki with tears filled in your eyes. Seeing you like this hurt him more than ever, but he had to stay strong.
"How could this not be enough for you Katsuki?" You cried, "How could I not be enough for you?"
He looked down at the table to avoid your broken expression, "How else am I supposed to fuckin' say it huh? I don't wanna be with you anymore."
You shook your head, "Stop looking at the table and look at me when you say that. If you can look me in the eyes and tell me you really don't want to be with me, then you can leave."
It took everything left in Katsuki to lift his head up and look you in your eyes. He tried his best to put on a poker face, but you both knew it wasn't working.
"I don't want to be with you anymore."
Your face scrunched up slightly as you held back tears. "Okay Katsuki. If that's what you really want."
...
Having to hear Katsuki move out of your apartment was just another reminder of your relationship crumbling right before you, and it felt like the end of the world.
You don't know how long you laid in bed crying silently, but suddenly you heard Katsuki's voice from the door of your bedroom.
"I'm leaving now." He said quietly.
You played with a thread on the pillow next to you, choosing to ignore him.
He shuffled awkwardly at your silence. "Um, Bye. I guess."
"Bye Katsuki." You said quietly.
You stayed quiet until you heard the front door shut behind him, then you let yourself cry.
...
It was almost two months later, and you were starting to feel a bit better about the break up. It was hard sometimes, but you had a good support system and kept yourself busy.
Now though you were feeling better emotionally, you weren't really feeling well physically.
When you confided in your best friend about this, she told you words you really didn't want to hear.
"Maybe you're pregnant?" Uraraka suggested after hearing your symptoms.
You shook your head, "No way! And if I am, that's horrible! I can't raise a baby by myself. That's a two person job..."
She stayed quiet, now feeling a bit awkward when she remembered the messy breakup between you and Katsuki.
"I'd be here for you, you know that right?" She said and wrapped her arms around you. "I should have a few tests in my bathroom, do you wanna go take some?"
You bit your lip in thought. "I dunno. I'm scared."
She leaned her head on your shoulder, "I'll be with you every step of the way. You're my best friend okay? You should take the test sooner than later so that way if you are pregnant, you can start taking care of yourself and the baby."
You leaned your head on hers, "You're right. I'll do it."
Moments later after peeing on three sticks and looking at the results, you felt your heart drop to your stomach.
You opened the door and faced Uraraka, who was pacing in anticipation.
"Well? What does it say?!" She asked.
You held up one of the tests, "Looks like I gotta start eating for two."
...
5 years later
After finding out you were pregnant five years ago, you decided you weren't going to tell Katsuki. Maybe it was wrong, but you didn't care.
He had made it very clear he didn't want to be with you anymore, and you weren't going to hold him back from whatever plans he had.
You had also decided it'd be a good idea to move out of Musutafu, at least an hour away from him and anyone else that knows him. You didn't want the word of you having his child spreading around and eventually reaching him.
The only person you told were your parents and Uraraka, who promised she'd keep it a secret from Katsuki and everyone associated with him. The two of you kept in touch and she would occasionally visit you when she wasn't busy with hero work.
So now here you were with your 4-year old little girl, Keiko. She had some of your features, but of course her father's genes overshadowed yours despite him not even being in the picture.
The biggest resemblance between them was their eyes, which you hated temporarily, but grew to love again because of her.
"Mama! Mama!" Keiko called from the top of the slide, "Come play with me!"
You stood up from the bench with a sigh and made your way over to the bottom of the slide. "Okay Koko but be careful up there! I don't want you to get hurt."
She shook her head and scrunched up her face, "I'm strong! I don't get hurt Mama!" and then slid down to meet you at the bottom.
Once she got there, she slid into your legs and got surprised at the light impact but giggled anyways.
You reached down and picked her up, "What are you laughing at huh Koko?" You asked and tickled her.
She continued laughing her little heart out and you smiled at her, loving to see your daughter in such a good mood.
A few hours later, you found yourselves at the grocery store, shopping for new snacks Keiko could take to school.
You held up a pack of yogurt cups to your daughter, who was sitting in the basket.
"You want some of these baby? They have blueberry and strawberry flavor."
"I want blueberry!" She said.
You nodded, "Good choice."
The two of you continued shopping around for a few more minutes, until you felt your heart stop.
Down the same aisle, you saw none other than Katsuki Bakugou.
Just as you tried to quickly turn around, your precious child couldn't help but yell -
"Dynamight!"
Groaning in frustration at your daughter, though you knew it wasn't her fault (He just so happened to be her favorite hero, despite not even knowing he was her father), you tried your best to keep walking away but it was already too late.
You heard him yell out your name, and you quickly grabbed Keiko, abandoning the shopping cart in the process and you began making your way out of the store as fast as you could.
Katsuki, who noticed you and your daughter, did the same and began following you.
Once you were outside, you looked over your shoulder and called out, "Get away from me!
Keiko fussed in your arms at your loud voice, wondering what was happening and why her mother was running away from a hero.
Finally getting to your car, Katsuki was hovering over you as you put your daughter in her car seat.
"Is she mine?" He asked, out of breath from walking fast.
"No."
"You think I'm an idiot or somethin'?" He asked, "She looks just like me and you expect me to believe that?"
You kissed Keiko on the forehead, "I'm gonna talk to the crazy man real quick okay baby? Just wait here."
She nodded and played with her fingers. You shut the door and leaned against it, facing Katsuki.
"Leave us alone. I don't want anything to do with you, okay?" You said sternly, trying not to cry.
His eyebrows furrowed, "When we ended things... were you pregnant?"
You stayed quiet for a moment before answering.
"I didn't find out until a month later."
He let out a breath and put his hands on his face. "Why the fuck didn't you tell me? I would've been there for you, even if we weren't together."
His words angered you, "Why does it take me being pregnant for you to think about being there for me? I still needed you there when you left, but you wanted nothing to do with me!"
"I had to do it! You don't understand, okay?" He yelled.
You put a finger in his face, "Stop raising your voice at me like that. Keiko can probably hear you."
He grew quiet, "Her name is Keiko?"
"Yeah."
He looked at the ground, "Can I get to know her more? Please. There's no way I can live my life knowing I have a kid that I'm not there for."
You felt a tear slip down your cheek. "Okay, fine. I'll give you my number and we can talk about the details later."
"Thank you." He sighed, "Thank you so much. I'm gonna do my best for her, and for you too."
"This isn't about me."
"I don't care. It's what I want to do. It's what I need to do."
"Just give me your phone so I can put my number in."
He fished his phone out of his pocked and unlocked it, handing it to you. While you added your contact, he asked "What does she like? I want to get her something."
"Well she likes heroes, her favorite animal is a seal, and she likes crowns, because she wants to be a king." You said with a smile.
"Not a queen?" He smirked.
You shook your head. "Nah, she says 'king' sounds cooler."
He laughed, "That's definitely my kid."
...
After the accidental meet up with Katsuki, Keiko asked a million questions but you answered as if you didn't know him, and eventually she lost interest.
You decided not to tell anyone about what happened, just incase he decided to leave again. You also didn't want to tell Keiko yet, because you didn't want her to grow attached to him.
She knew her father wasn't in the picture, but she didn't fully understand why yet. You would explain it to her when she got older and grew more curious about who he is.
You had also found out why Katsuki was in your city, and apparently it was because he was visiting some family members (by force of his mother).
It was now a few days later, and you and Katsuki decided to meet up, along with Keiko. You wanted to meet him in public, but he said that was a bad idea because he'd get recognized, so you reluctantly agreed to allow him into your home.
"Keikooo" You cooed, "We have a visitor today."
She looked up from her toys and brushed her hair out of her face, "Who Mama?"
Just then, the doorbell rang. "There he is! Do you wanna go open the door?"
She nodded and skipped down the hall and to the front door, looking back at you for the okay before opening the door.
When she did, she gasped "Dynamight! What are you doing at my house?"
Katsuki laughed, "I came to see you and your Mama, if that's alright with you little lady."
She smiled and opened the door wider, allowing him to walk in. "What's in that bag, Dynamight?"
"It's actually something for you." He said and handed it to her.
She squealed and dragged the large bag behind her to the couch, where she quickly dug inside of it and pulled out a large seal plushie with a crown on it.
"It's a king seal!" She said in awe.
You smiled and sat next to her on the couch, "What do you say Koko?"
She hugged the seal, "Thank you so much! I need to name him..."
Katsuki laughed and ruffled her hair, "You're welcome kid. Maybe we can come up with names later." He then handed you a small bag, from who knows where, and urged you to open it.
You raised a brow but opened it anyways. Inside, there was a jewelry box, and inside that there was a necklace with three small flowers aligned together. It was simple, but pretty.
"You didn't have to get me anything..." You said while admiring the necklace.
He shrugged, "I know, but I wanted to."
You smiled.
...
For the next few months, things continued on that way. The three of you would meet up, Katsuki occasionally bringing you and your daughter gifts no matter how many times you said you didn't want one, and actually enjoying time together.
Currently, Keiko was being carried to bed by Katsuki. She was all tuckered out from today's session of hero and villain (she was the hero, of course).
When Katsuki came back to the living room, he slumped onto the couch next to you and sighed. "Damn, that kid has so much energy."
You laughed, "Tell me about it. It was even worse when I was actually carrying her. She was a kicker."
Katsuki looked over at you, "I'm sorry I wasn't there."
You continued looking forward, "It's fine. You didn't even know, Katsuki."
He smiled slightly at you using his first name, just like he did every time you used it.
"Y'know, I was thinking-"
"Uh oh." You teased.
He tsked and continued on, "I wanna start over again."
You froze, what the hell was he saying?
"Look, I know you're hesitant to and I understand why." He said and slowly grabbed your hand, holding it tenderly in his. "But I'm being serious when I say I haven't been with anyone since you. I still love you and I always have. And now that Koko is here, I love her too and I want to be in her life everyday."
Your lip began to shake, "If you loved me, why did you leave me?"
"Baby I was being stupid. I-I got into a fight with this villain, and he threatened you. I thought that my job was putting you in danger and I didn't want to take any risks, so I broke things off."
The tears were now falling, "You're such an idiot, you know that?"
"I do know. I'm sorry." He said and stroked your cheek, "I'm so fucking sorry for hurting you and not being there for you and Keiko. But please, please let me be here now."
You cried harder and leaned into his chest, and he wrapped his arms around you. That wound he left behind all those years ago was now a scar that still hurts. But so far, being with him these last few months has eased the pain.
"I love you" You cried, "I want you to be here now. For me and for Keiko."
He let out the biggest sigh of relief in years.
...
3 years later
"Keiko! Stop putting cheese on your brother!" Katsuki yelled across the kitchen.
Your now 7-year old daughter pouted and bit into a slice of cheese, "But he likes it!"
Your son, who was a year old, laid on the floor of the living room and laughed at his sister while chewing on his fingers.
After that talk you and Katsuki had, you began seeing each other again. It was hard at first, but he proved himself to you in every way he could.
You two also told Keiko he was her father, and she was confused at first but after a long talk and even some tears, she understood and quickly accepted he was her father.
She also loved being able to say Dynamight was her dad.
She also manifested her quirk, which was of course, the same as Katsuki's. When it first manifested, there was a random boom! that came from her bedroom, and when you two ran in, she was covered in soot and her doll was blown up.
Though instead of crying, she cheered in victory, which Katsuki found extremely funny.
Now for your second pregnancy, that was a surprise, just like your first one. Despite this, you two were still happy about it and decided to move into a bigger house together.
Hiroki looked a lot like his father, of course. But this time, he had your eye color which you were thankful for considering you carried him for almost 9 months.
"Keiko why would you put cheese on Hiroki?" You asked as you walked into the living room.
She shrugged and ate another slice.
"That kid is crazy, that's why." Katsuki said.
She quickly turned around, "No I'm not! You're crazy! Poop face!"
"Hey!" You said, "Don't call your dad poop face. That's not nice."
She grumbled a 'sorry' and went back to eating the cheese slices off of Hiroki.
You smiled and shook your head at your families antics. They could be a bit much, and they had explosive personalities (literally) but you loved them either way.
Maybe second chances weren't so bad.

this was so so fun! again, thank you for requesting 🩷 if anyone else has ideas or requests, feel free to send em!

katsuki is trying really hard to maintain his nonchalant act throughout the day.
as soon as it hits 12am, he frowns at being woken up by texts from many of his friends wishing him happy birthday.
in the morning, his parents video call him to show the embarrassing childhood pictures they've kept. "congrats brat, you're old. let's have a proper celebration during the weekend," mitsuki grins. katsuki flips her off before ending the call.
walking through the halls, he hears "happy birthday, senpai!" "happy birthday, bakugou!" every few seconds. he merely grunts in response.
in the afternoon, he's stopped by all might, who asks to eat with him. they spend their lunch talking about katsuki's progress and well-being. "i'm very proud of you, bakugou-shounen. i wish you a wonderful birthday," all might utters softly. katsuki nods and excuses himself first.
he's the first to stand up when class ends, about to leave when he suddenly feels someone ruffle his hair. "happy birthday, problem child," aizawa sighs. "take better care of yourself, huh?"
when he reaches the dorms, he's surprised by confetti and cheers from class 2A, 2B, some students from shiketsu, and some of his alumni. they bring out a big cake and sing really loudly on purpose to embarrass him. everyone comes up to him and thanks him for all he's done and how much they've inspired him. katsuki leaves barely an hour into the party.
he rushes to his room and locks the door, ignoring denki's complaints of him being a 'party pooper'. he turns around and jumps at seeing izuku sitting by his bed with a present.
"oh," izuku blinks in surprise. "hi! i didn't expect you to be up here so early."
"izuku," katsuki jolts. "what the hell are you doing here? weren't you just downstairs?"
"well, i wanted to give you my gift personally," izuku laughs, "and your room seemed like my only chance of finding you alone." he walks up to katsuki, gives him the box, and envelops him into a tight hug. "happy birthday, kacchan. we've been through a lot together, haven't we?"
katsuki pauses before hugging back just as tightly, his vision clouding. "a bit overwhelming," he mumbles.
both of them know immediately what he's referring to: the genuine attention, affection, and admiration he's getting today. in the past, the wishes he'd get would be along the lines of 'you're going to grow into someone with the strongest quirk,' only ever noticing his capabilities and future potential, but never him.
this was his first birthday after the war, and also one of the first birthdays in a while where he's around people who truly care about him.
"everyone's just happy they could spend kacchan's birthday together like this," izuku hums, closing his eyes with a grateful sigh as he rubs katsuki's back soothingly. "me too. i'm really, really happy."
omgg baby’s 1st birthday!! 👏
Happy birthday Katsuki Bakugou, our number one hero💥💥💥
I think about them a lot
"we should have brought bread," your boyfriend signs to you with a frown, his eyes on the ducks waddling just a few feet away. you and katsuki had left the house just before sunset to relax by the lake on a wooden bench and enjoy the view as the ducks ran around.
you hum, latching onto his arm. "next time." you mouth to him, pecking his chin.
katsuki exhales, nodding lightly. he wraps his beefy arm around you, pulling you into his warm figure. he feels the breeze whisper against you both, some of your hair blowing into his face. he scrunches up his nose at the ticklish sensation, pushing your hair back down as you grin up at him.
you readjust yourself a bit so you can raise both hands. "the ducks are loud." you tell him, mouthing the words as you sign.
he rolls his eyes, actually thankful he's unable to hear. he knows he can speak to you verbally, he doesn't have to stay quiet. it's an odd thing though... he prefers to not say anything. he's comfortable the way everything is. especially in moments like these, where words aren't even enough to describe what he's feeling.
katsuki turns his head to look back at you, not even a bit surprised that you're already staring at him intently. he can't even fight the little grin that makes its way onto his face. he brings up his fingers, doing the "cmere" movement as you lean forward and he grabs your chin, pulling you into a gentle kiss.

I love your writing style smm, so I was hoping you could write one where the reader is like an insomniac, staying up late to be chronically online and stuff and Katsuki tries to help her ₍⑅ᐢ..ᐢ₎
I struggle with insomnia quite a bit, and I just stay up, scrolling through my phone or computer even if I don't have anything to do on there. And it's not like a one time thing either, it's like every night, and the only way I actually go to sleep is holding my plushies or listening to ASMR/or calming music, but it still takes quite a long time for it to kick in.
So I would love it if you could convey that in one of your oneshots!!
If you don't wish to go through with my request for any reason, no worries and I hope you have a good rest of your evening! (ㆁωㆁ)
I wish you tons of love and good times all around, thank you for listening (∩˃o˂∩)♡
katsuki trying to help his insomniac partner
katsuki was writing down what was on the board, listening to what mister aizawa was teaching when he turned his head to see you nodding off. he glared, and checked to see when the teacher wasn’t looking, then reached over to push your shoulder.
you slowly turned toward him and pouted, quietly grumbling, “what?”
“pay attention. you’re not failing this test, idiot.” he scoffed, changing his attention to his paper and trying to solve the equation in front of him.
after a few minutes, he heard a loud thump to his left, and he sighed once he saw what happened, your hair was splayed out everywhere, your head lay on the desk, and your arms wrapped around your head, protecting it in some sort of way. he reached his arm out, not caring about the equation anymore, and wrapped his hand around your bicep, squeezing it, and small explosions landed on your arm, causing there to be a black mark on your uniform.
you swatted his hand away, seemingly wide awake when he whispered, “we’re talking after class.”
you retorted and laughed, “no shit, katsuki, we always talk after class.”
he rolled his eyes and scoffed, done with your antics. but when the time came, and the class was done, school was officially over for the day, he dragged you by your hand into your dorm.
once you set your bags down and yawned, he asked, crossing his arms after he took his clothes off and changed, “why the hell are you always so tired during the day? do you not sleep or some stupid shit like that?”
you shook your head and then nodded, a little confused about how to explain it with just signals. you spoke, “i have insomnia.”
his eyes widened. well, now he felt like an asshole.
he mumbled, “first off, you need to sleep quicker and easier. what do you think makes you calmer and more sleepy?”
“i think being around people i like makes me sleepy because i feel relaxed around them, like a comfort person. then i like listening to asmr, i love listening to soft taps and crunchy sounds! it’s so cool!” you exclaimed.
he rolled his eyes. he didn’t know what the fuck asmr was, but he assumed it helped, so he spoke, “sleep with me tonight, and we’ll put that asmr thing on.”
“really?” you asked, eyes shining with admiration. all he was worrying about was your phone, as you managed to check it around a hundred times a day, even when you weren’t supposed to. who knew what you would be like at night?
so when it came to be around eight at night, you found yourself in katsuki’s dim room, with his large television screen opened up to the youtube app. you complained, “why are we here so early, kats?”
he answered, “because i’m guessing you take a long time to sleep. put on your favorite channel and get in bed.”
he stripped off his shirt as you took control of the remote, typing in the letters of your favorite asmr channel before clicking on a video. you climbed into bed with katsuki and crawled closer to him, wanting to feel his warmth.
after a couple of minutes, you reached over to the nightstand to grab your phone when katsuki forced your hand down. he argued, “no phones past eight.”
you immediately tried to argue as well, “but—“
“go the hell to bed. no phones.” he kept his word, and eventually your eyes started to feel heavy.
you mumbled, digging your face deeper into his side, and around two hours later, after conversations, and switching through multiple videos, he finally felt your breathing evening, and he sighed.
although you had to wake up early in the morning, two hours preparing to sleep was better than many more hours. he smirked to himself, katsuki had to make this part of your nightly routine.
hi i hope this was realistic enough! i’m so glad you love my writing, you have no idea how much this affects me
People who argue against deaf Bakugou and Present Mic headcanons because "their body is built for their quirk" are actually kinda obnoxious.
Firstly: let people have fun, it's a headcanon for a reason.
Second: Bakugou's quirk literally killed him. Clearly, there can be ways that your body isn't perfectly optimized for it.
Third: What if them being hard of hearing IS their body being optimized for their quirk? If it's lower volume for you, it isn't as much of a bother.

a week passes and things have been . . well, to put it lightly, awkward. katsuki’s texts are dry, he makes himself scarce in your presence, and when he actually talks to you, he sounds almost strained. you’re not sure whether or not he still wants you to attend the dinner party. when you text him about it, he sends a quick,
03:43 [ kats ] : yeah
it’s almost nerve wracking knocking on his door later that evening. the party starts at seven, but you show up at five. partly to give yourself time to get ready, and partly because you want to know what the hell is going on with katsuki.
“hey,” he greets curtly, nodding once. he looks past you, like he can’t meet your eyes. “you’re early.”
you blink at him. once, twice, before taking a deep breath. “i showed up early last time, too. i came to hang out with you, update you on my life. you know, since you haven’t bothered to check up lately.” you know it’s a little bitchy, but he deserves it right? he’s all but ignored you this past week.
he winces at your words and you feel a little bad. “yeah, i’ve been, uh, busy.” there’s a pause, then he steps to the side. “hungry? my mom made a cheese board thing, so there’s shit left over.”
you shift your bag on your shoulder—the one that contains your dress, makeup, and other various items you might need tonight—and shake your head. “not hungry.”
“cool.” you walk inside, brushing his shoulder as you do so.
this is so weird. you feel like a first year again, treading lightly around the angry blonde who wasn’t there to make friends. except this time, he’s not angry, just uncharacteristically quiet. without his guidance, you make your way to his room, sitting down on the edge of his bed.
he follows, shutting the door behind him and taking a seat at his desk. your eyes drift from him to the vivarium sitting on said desk, where his snake is perched in a log. you get distracted for a moment, staring into the seemingly mesmerizing eyes of viper. a cliche name, you think, but katsuki got the snake when he was a wannabe badass twelve-year-old, so you can’t really judge it.
katsuki clears his throat and you snap your head over to him, meeting his carmine eyes. “did you pass the test?”
“test?” you repeat, brows meeting in the middle.
“the one in mic’s? i helped you study for it?”
“oh, right.” you nod a couple times. “yeah, i passed it. it was actually easier than i thought it was going to be, i don’t know.”
he smiles, weak and not full of pride like you’re used to. “probably ‘cause i helped you, huh?”
you nod again, tight-lipped. an awkward silence settles over you, reminding you of silence from last week, when he wanted to say something, but didn’t.
“okay,” you say frustratedly, throwing your hands up. “what’s your deal, katsuki? you’ve been acting really weird for the past week and it’s really confusing. did i, like, do something wrong? because you’re normal with kiri and mina, but when it comes to me you’re . . . standoffish?”
he stares at you like a deer stuck in headlights, unblinking, unmoving. he stays like that for a long, drawn-out moment. it feels like years, but can’t be more than a few seconds. “you didn’t do anything,” he mumbles finally.
“cool, so you’re just acting like an ass for no reason?”
“i’m not acting like an ass!” he exclaims, fists clenching where they rest on his thighs. “i’m-“ he cuts himself off, sighing, and stands up, chair rolling behind him. “i’m not acting like an ass, i’ve just been . . .”
“busy,” you finish for him, a dejected tone to your voice. “right. too busy to text me, too busy to not walk away everytime i enter a room, too busy to talk to me like a normal fucking person. right, no, yeah. that makes total sense.” you roll your eyes and stand as well, fixing your bag as you sigh. “listen, if you didn’t want me to come tonight, you should have said so. i have schoolwork to do anyway.”
you make a move for the door, but he sidesteps, now planted in front of you. his eyes bore into yours, face flushed, jaw set. to an outside party, he’d seem pissed. to you, however, this is pure frustration.
“katsuki, move.”
“no.”
“jesus christ!” you say in an incredulous laugh, letting your bag fall to the ground as your arms go limp. you spin on your heel and press your palms to your eyes. “you won’t talk to me, and you won’t let me leave.” you turn back to him and glare. “what do you want from me, katsuki? you can’t keep acting like this and expect me to go along with it?”
without a moment's hesitation from him, he surges forward, cupping your face, and plants his lips on yours.
you’re frozen in your spot, eyes wide, nervous system going haywire. you’re unsure of what to do. is this why he’s been acting so weird all week? because he likes you?
as soon as your mind catches up with reality, and you let your eyes fall shut, he makes a grunting sound and pulls away, not meeting your eyes. he brings a hand up to his ear and snaps a couple times, brows furrowing in frustration.
“what the fuck?” he mumbles to himself, pulling his hearing aid off and turning it over to look at the battery. you can vaguely see a green light flashing and realize his hearing aids have died.
just your luck. of course his hearing aids would die in the middle of the most telling moment of your guys’ relationship. and of course your sign language is still shitty. and of course you would start to cry, because why wouldn’t you?
he must sense a disturbance in the air because he looks up at you, eyes softening as he clocks the tears welling up in your eyes. “i’m sorry,” he says quietly. you can’t tell if it’s because he’s scared of being too loud or if it’s because he’s trying to be soft, but it makes you cry even harder.
“you kissed me,” you whisper, running a hand down your face. his brows furrow in confusion, gaze dropping to your mouth. “you kissed me,” you repeat, this time trying to make it more intelligible.
“stupid fucking hearing aids,” he curse, more to himself than to you. he scowls, then looks at you and sighs. “i’m not good with words. i was hoping that, uh, kissing you would explain it for me. did it?”
you let out a small, wet laugh and shake your head. “does this mean you like me too?”
“wait, go slower.”
katsuki fully lost his hearing in second year, meaning he can still say words properly without his hearing aids, but has trouble reading lips. he’s improved a lot since then, but it’s still shoddy.
you chew the inside of your cheek. “do you like me?” you repeat, this time slower, more articulate.
hesitantly, he nods. “that’s why i’ve been acting like a douche. because i didn’t . . .” he pauses, tongue darting out to wet his lips. “i didn’t think you liked me back. and i was trying to distance myself. you- you do like me, right?”
a grin splits across your face, and you take his face in your hands. you lean forward, stopping just before his lips, and whisper, “i think i might love you, katsuki bakugou.” you close the distance between you too.
his hands find your waist, pulling you closer to him, and your hands slide around his neck. for a moment, you get lost in him. in the way his lips slot against yours like they were made for each other, in the sounds he doesn’t know he’s making, in the way his fingers dig into your skin. you could stay like this forever, you think.
eventually, you have to breathe, so you pull away, resting your forehead on his. there’s a seemingly permanent smile placed on your face. his chest heaves and he returns the smile, quickly picking your lips once again.
“you know i have no idea what you said to me before that, right?” he asks softly, eyes flickering between your eyes and your mouth.
you just laugh.

i cried katsuki i love you
“i can do the alphabet in sign language!” eri chirps to you one night, tugging at the bottom of your skirt as she gazes up at you with that sparkle in her eyes she gets when she's about to show you something important.
the city hums softly outside your window. cars in the distance, someone’s dog barking, the occasional clink of a bottle hitting pavement. you’re curled on the couch with your legs tucked beneath you, fingers grazing the hem of the throw blanket, and eri’s settled close, knees bumping yours, her face lit by the soft blue flicker of the tv screen.
your mouth parts into a soft gasp, eyes going round with surprise, delight catching in your throat. “that’s so cool!” you grin, reaching for her instinctively, brushing a hand through her snowy hair. “you should show suki, he’d really like it.”
she nods, mouth stretched into a proud little beam, her arms winding around your leg in a hug, like she wants to melt into your side and stay there forever. “okay! where is he?”
you glance up, eyes flicking toward the hallway without much thought.
“i dunno,” you hum. “i think he’s getting your bedsheets.”
“i’m gonna go find him!” she cheers, letting go of you and running off without another word, small feet padding down the hallway before you can call out a reminder. to be gentle and cautious.
you sink back into the couch with a quiet wince, already imagining the startle that’s coming. katsuki doesn’t wear his hearing aids at home. he says they make him feel alienated, like he’s underwater in his own home. says he prefers the quiet, even when it means he misses footsteps behind him.
down the hall, eri’s palm skims the wall as she turns the corner.
“suki?” she calls out, forgetting he can't hear her.
she finds him with his back to the room, broad shoulders blocking the light from the closet as he reaches for the folded sheets on the top shelf.
she slowly steps over to his spot, tapping his bulgy arm and looking up at him with pride. he jumps, and almost blasts whatever it is coming near him. he knows it's not you, you make sure to knock on the wall or anything just to make yourself known before getting close to him.
it’s not dramatic, not loud, just a sharp inhale as his muscles twitch beneath his skin, the sheets nearly slipping from his hands, turning his head to look down at her in surprise.
“you scared me,” he mutters, voice low, words shaped more from breath than sound.
eri just grins up at him, undeterred. she lifts her right hand, fingers curling and tucking until they make a neat little H. katsuki raises a brow, the closet door creaking as it swings shut behind him.
immediately after, she forms an I with a soft grin
then she follows it with an I, fingers small and steady, her eyes never leaving his. her smile is proud. soft. expectant.
the moment reached him slower than it should have, but she keeps going.
her fingers move carefully, like she’s practiced this a hundred times in her room, mouthing the letters silently as she went. she starts spelling out the alphabet, grinning with pride.
by the time she gets to K, katsuki's kneeling, bringing himself to her level as he sits on his heels so they’re eye to eye. his expression softens in a way only a handful of people ever get to see.
his hand rises— not to stop her, not to fix her hands, not to take over. just to mirror her. to do it with her.
his lips are twitching, not into a smile yet, but close enough. something fond, folded under layers of gruffness and disbelief.
“you learn all that just for me?” he asks, low and rough.
eri nods, both hands flying up now, fingers tangling as she shows him N, then O, like she doesn’t want to waste time answering him out loud.
katsuki exhales like he’s been holding it in since she tapped him, then reaches forward and cups the back of her head gently, thumb brushing through her hair.
“your hair needs to be brushed." he murmurs, like he's trying to escape from the feeling inside of him. he's not even sure what it is, it just feels nice. to have her, this little girl, learn a language for him.
he reaches for the fallen sheets with a smile, a real smile. the kind that pushes up into his eyes and softens all the hard lines around his mouth.
hi! could you do bakugo x reader and she gets pregnant while they're in UA? (college au)
Unplanned
Your hands tremble as you stare down at the tiny test in your grip. Two pink lines. It’s faint, but there. You check the instructions again, as if you haven’t already memorized them, as if the result is going to change.
“Oh, shit.” The words fall from your lips before you can stop them.
The sound of the bathroom door creaking open makes you jump. “Oi, what the hell’s takin’ you so long?” Bakugo’s gruff voice echoes in the small dorm bathroom.
You don’t respond immediately. You can’t. Your pulse is hammering in your ears, drowning out every rational thought. How are you supposed to tell him?
“Hey.” His voice is closer now. He must’ve stepped inside. “You sick or somethin’?”
You whip around, nearly knocking over the soap dispenser in your panic. “Katsuki!” You hide the test behind your back, swallowing thickly. “What are you doing in here?”
His eyes narrow. “What the hell do you mean? This is my dorm too, dumbass.”
Right. You’re in his dorm. You hadn’t even realized your feet took you here instead of your own.
His crimson eyes scan you, taking in your nervous stance, the way your shoulders are hunched, how your grip behind your back is so tight your knuckles have gone white. He scowls. “What are you hiding?”
Your heart lurches. “Nothing!”
“Bullshit.” He steps forward, faster than you can react, and before you know it, his hand is snatching the test from behind your back.
“Wait—”
But it’s too late. His gaze drops to the small stick in his grasp. A thick silence follows.
For once in his life, Katsuki Bakugo is speechless.
You watch his expression shift—confusion, realization, then something unreadable. His grip tightens around the test, and his breath comes out in a slow, controlled exhale. “The fuck is this?” His voice is eerily calm.
You swallow hard. “I… I just found out. I was going to tell you, I swear—”
He doesn’t move, doesn’t speak. He’s just standing there, staring at the test like it’s a grenade about to go off.
“Katsuki?” Your voice is small, and you hate it.
His gaze snaps to yours. “You’re pregnant?”
You nod.
Another silence.
Then, his shoulders sag. He rubs a rough hand down his face and exhales sharply. “Shit.”
“I know.”
His hands go to his hips, and he paces the tiny bathroom like a caged animal. “How the fuck did this happen? I mean, I know how it happened—” He stops and glares at you. “Were you not on the pill?”
Your jaw drops. “Excuse me?”
“I’m just askin’!”
“I was!” You throw your hands up. “I don’t know, maybe it failed! Maybe you have super sperm! I don’t know, Katsuki, I didn’t exactly plan this either!”
He groans, dragging both hands through his hair before resting them on his hips again. His jaw is clenched so tight you think he might break his teeth.
“I can’t believe this,” he mutters.
Your stomach sinks. “You think I can?” Your voice wobbles. “Do you think I wanted this? We’re still in school, Katsuki.”
His head snaps up, and the way his gaze sharpens makes your breath hitch. “What? You think I’m just gonna ditch you?”
You blink. “I—”
“The hell do you take me for?” His voice is rough, but not angry. Not exactly. “I wouldn’t fucking do that.”
You suddenly feel small, vulnerable in a way you’re not used to. “I just… I don’t know what to do.”
He exhales slowly. When he steps forward, he’s cautious, deliberate. His hands land on your shoulders, firm but gentle. “Hey.” His voice is softer now. “We’ll figure it out.”
Your eyes sting. “Yeah?”
He nods. “Yeah.” A deep breath. “We’re gonna be fine.”
You don’t know if that’s true. But for now, you let yourself believe him.
