About your au. I’d like to think Good has a bit of an easier time accepting that Agatha is Good because they heard about this Reader who journeyed from beyond the woods to their school for Sophie (who already has a reputation that she accidentally built while insisting she’s Good and pursuing Tedros)
Possibly yeah! without Agatha, Sophie's not convincing anyone she's in the wrong school, and since Readers come in twos it seems logical she'd be the Other One,,, then again idk if the Evers at this point would be convinced to be more generous towards her regardless, I don't see them looking at a strange, filthy girl purporting to be friends with the other strange girl as anything other than a 'ooh yes please take her away from us, thank you kindly' thing lmao. Perhaps there can be a side plot where Hester and Tedros are both like OH OH ME ME ME I'LL HELP YOU GO BACK TO GAVALDON IF YOU PROMISE TO NEVER COME BACK bc they've both had unfiltered Sophie all this time hsjddj
> Sophie of Gavaldon
Quick drawing
She gets on my nerves sometimes but it's okay 🤍 Our queen fr!!
I watched the adaptation of The School for Good and Evil on Netflix and was, to be honest, kind of disappointed. I watched without reading it first which made me wonder : "Is the book as bad as its adaptation ?"
The whole ambiance, world and characters in the movie felt really promising but also sort of shallow.
Then I read the first book and realised how much more nuanced it actually is and how more developed the characters are.
So I made a series of character designs based on the book and movie characters.
First : The Evergirls Reena, Kiko and Chinen (which isn't in the books but deserved her own character design...)
This is so stupid im crying i love it
NO CANON DYNAMIC YET. QUICK, THROW OUT HYPOTHETICALS
how can I be the greatest hero without you ?
fly high king 🙏😔
Alright, *cracks knuckles* here we go,,
1. Iconic lines:
“The three of you are a team. You’re going to work together and fight together and, yes, even eat together, for the next five years. I have chosen you not just as individuals, but as a combination. No one else will be joining you, because that would alter the combination.”
- the only thing rufus did right
Aaron stood up, gripping his fork in his hand. He looked furious.
“It wasn’t your spot,” he spat out at Jasper. “It’s more than just points. It’s about who the Master wants to teach — and I can see exactly why Master Rufus didn’t want you.”
- EVERYBODY CHEERED, ATE THAT BTCH UP MAN
They all yelled in excitement. Tamara yelled because she was happy, Aaron yelled because he liked it when other people were happy, and Call yelled because he was sure they were going to die.
- theyr so silly i love them 🥺🫶💕
2. Omg lore ok
The quincunx - fire, earth, water, air, and chaos
- ngl i forgot about the order of the elements so thats epic
4th rule of magic. You can change a thing’s shape, but not its essential nature.
- ok i remembered this one, but i think the authors did forget tho, would be rlly cool to see this more idk
Dispersing rogue elementals before they can cause harm is one of the important tasks mages are responsible for, he’d said. If they feel threatened, they can disperse back into their element. It takes them a lot of energy to coalesce again.
- huh.
3. Id rate this 7/10
Id say its better than the first 5 chapters, chapter 6-10 needs some work but it was enjoyable enough.
They did an excellent job in exploring the characters and their dynamics here. Thats huge plus for me.
4. I wish they expanded more on the other lessons thats not sand stuff
Magisterium is very much a school. And the fact that the main trio only gets their general magic education once a week then goes back to sand sorting is awful to do to kids.
It's incredibly unrealistic for them to be able to pull off other magic spells without practice. Its one thing to know it in theory and another to actually do it. I understand what theyr going for with the "learning control" sand lesson thing, but its also another to apply what u learn on a completely different thing. You can't just go from earth bending to air bending in one go all cuz u "learned control". They learned how to control sand. Sand has completely different properties from fire!!!
HE DIDN'T TEACH THEM ANYTHING OMFG. HE DIDN'T EVEN TEACH THEM HOW TO MOVE THE SAND- THEY FIGURED IT OUT ON THEIR OWN- AND HES JUST GON LET THEM COMPETE?!?!?????
and don't get me started on the wyverns istg.
One thing that i get out of rereading tit is slowly but surely disliking rufus even more istg.
(really sorry for the really late post, tumblr was a bitch and didn't post my post 2 hours ago when I originally made it) ANYWAY
Here's the prompts for today! Answer them at your leisure and remember to have fun!
What is the most iconic line in the chapters you've read? (keep in mind when I say "iconic line" i also refer to really funny lines, such as a snarky comment from call)
[For me, it's this!
“I’m going to kill you,” Tamara said very calmly. “I am going to sort your guts into piles.”]
2. What is the thing that you forgot about (piece of lore, something that happened, a character line) but upon your reread you remembered it and you're genuinely shocked by it?
[For me, it's the fact that Rufus told Call the reason he took him as apprentice is to punish himself 💀]
3. Rate these chapters as well! Are they better than the first five? Worse? [I like the first five chapters more, i give these ones a 7.1]
4. (optional) Something you wish would've been added at this point in time specifically
[I would've preferred if we got some lore drops about the mage world, but that's just me!]

I swear the magisterium series went so hard with saying you can bring someone back but you can’t fix death and then they ruined it
LITERALLY! For the age group, it was so raw and poignant and quite effective, in my opinion. Absolutely loved Aaron's brought back wrong story; i've never forgotten the descriptors of when he woke up and his hair and nails were longer because they'd kept growing in death, and how that clued Aaron in. and his screams. the way in the end, Aaron wasn't alive, he was under Call's control; Call told him not to talk about things like that, and he didn't. because he couldn't. Aaron didn't have free will, he had Call's will. the dawning horror when Call realized, and Aaron begging to be put to rest...favorite part of the series for me, I think
then they decided in book five actually we can fix death and are going to bring back Aaron perfectly fine this time <3
WHY. WHY did we do all that then. i HATE it. magisterium fandom unites around a hatred of the golden tower. in my heart aarons dead for real <3
I don’t usually do crossovers, but a comic idea popped into my head, so i decided to see where it went o/ cw: blood
Gotta be honest, the popularity of blond Percy thanks to the pjo show is driving me insane because every time I see pjo fanart, I have a crisis over what little blond boy is being depicted
