I Guess I Need To Stop Talking To Everyone At My School Then!

I guess I need to stop talking to everyone at my school then!

I need to remind myself that knowingly exposing oneself to stupid peoples' opinions probably constitutes as self-harm.

If you must ridicule us for your presumption about our definition of fascism, would you deign to share how you WOULD define fascism, rather than just lamenting on what it is not? I implore you to explain what you think fascism is and why you think the current administration is not fascist, I genuinely would.

And I in response will explain my definition of fascism and why I believe the current administration fits the definition.

And actually, fascism is partially “a person in favor of a smaller government” though only in conjunction with other factors that the current administration contains

I am scared .

I am a young queer girl.

I don’t have much of a community, only two people who are also LGBT+ and three or four more who are even slightly liberal. Only the former know I actually am panromantic.

I long to be in the sun, to know in the future I could have a girlfriend, or even just be open, but that longing makes me cautious.

I feel I must temper my argumentative side, make myself likable, and yet still try to hold all those around me accountable and challenge their preconceived notions. I want, when they think back on me, them not to feel revilement or fear I may have been deceiving them. I try to compliment all the other girls in my grade but I fear if I truly say how aesthetically beautiful I feel they all are, they will look back and see me as perverse or fear I had a crush on them and not understand I see them as beautiful in the same way I see the mountains and the trees. Rather than understanding I had hoped for them to see themselves as an innately beautiful part of the beautiful universe or even just to slightly improve their abysmal self esteem, they might look back and see “corruption” in my words.

I don’t know why I even fear it.

I fear how I see those around me not understand the necessity of queer rights and one of my own best friends wrinkling her nose in disgust every time a queer character even appears.

I feel helpless to explain how the eradication of trans rights in not only a sign of the tragic repeating of history to come but isolated from that simply a slap in the face, more harmful to my community and to feminism than I can properly articulate.

I feel like I’m drowning when I check the comments on a video of an explaination of the difference between WGM and GM in chess. Dread haunts like the reaper as I see the large number of replies, each with people claiming the very existence of the WGM title is either unnecessary or proves how women are inherently inferior at chess, lacking any nuance on history.

I dispare as the community online I am forced to view from afar, sipping and skimming, attempts to repeat the same patterns that threaten to or try to rip our spaces in half.

I am wrecked with terror at the prospect of not being able to escape for college to another country. Gnashing at my heels as I run from the disintegration of my country is the fear that every place I look to is headed in the same direction, that no progress will ever truly be made as some proudly stuff cotton into their ears and put megaphones to their uninformed words.

I am young but I do not feel young. I fear I will never feel old and I fear what will become of me and my friends if I do reach past 55.

I am afraid

But even as the storms now wash away the footprints I follow, laborious, repeated efforts will carve a path into the dirt.

Also if you would like an example of how the current administration is fascist according to your definition, here. As mentioned (somewhat briefly) in my original reblog, Trump and ICE under him has been revoking the rights to a fair trial to illegal immigrants and immigrants in general, despite judges’ orders and that right being for every person per the constitution.

Additionally, the White House and other government organizations (eg NASA) have been taking down webpages across their webpages. For example, on the official White House page the Constitution itself was not available for a long period and pages about women’s and POC’s historic contributions to NASA, an important part of history set aside in a webpage to make it easier to access and learn about as these contributions were and are often ignored, have been taken off of the website. Libraries are being threatened to be shut down for being a “waste of money and space” despite proving an essential service as a free space for all to have access to education, reading, amenities such as printing or watching movies, or even just as a space for teens to hang out without paying or being in danger.

I feel the merging of corporations and state is obvious in present America with lobbyist groups pouring money into politicians and the richest man in the world (who quite literally has done the nazi salute and reposted and retweeted neonazi rhetoric) funding and standing as the right hand to our president and his lackies. I will be honest though, while I agree with this part of the definition, I feel a bit confused on where you got it from. I would genuinely love to learn more about this part and any merging of corporations and state that may have happened within Germany or Italy during That Time.

“You know who else was resurrected from the dead? Aang and Elend Venture! Can we talk about them too now???”

making every conversation into being about The Character with the same reliability and conviction of a youth pastor going “you know who else partied? our lord and savior”

Firstly, I ask you to meet the second part of my request in explaining how Elon and trump are not (however incompetently) acting totalitarian and how they are not suppressing rights to benefit the state, or in this case the wealthy and the in group.

Explain how arresting Mahmoud Khalil, “a student activist and lead negotiator for the encampment in the 2024 Columbia University pro-Palestinian campus occupations” (which regardless of if you agree with the political movement is allowed within the United States under the first amendment. You do not have to agree with the protest or the cause to recognize all nonviolent protest should be protected if you want to protect some of it), being arrested by ICE is not an attempt to limit free speech and protest, as when upon being informed he was a lawful, permanent, legal resident, ICE, acting on orders from the State Department, said his status as this would be revoked instead (they initially assumed he had a student visa). His legal status within our nation is in danger of being revoked due to his political beliefs, which to my knowledge he never expressed violently.

Explain how disobeying orders from judges to not deport the thousands you have arrested immediately and to allow the people you have detained time and a fair trial as required for every person by the constitution is not authoritarian. Especially when refusing to turn a plane full of people you refuse to even name or identify heading towards a Venezuelan prison, despite the judge’s orders. Judges and a judges orders are not a suggestion, a thing you can ignore when it is inconvenient.

Tensions mount as judge demands more answers about deportation flights
NPR
Trump administration lawyers defended the weekend flights that deported hundreds of alleged Venezuelan gang members despite a federal judge'

While you may claim that palensteinian support is inherently antisemitic, I must disagree (though I concede SOME people use it as a vessel for their antisemitism) as criticizing a state and its government specifically is not the same as condemning or criticizing an entire people group, even if the state is made entirely or almost entirely of those people. When I criticize the Catholic Church, I am not condemning Catholics, when I criticize the government of Iran and its own human rights violations I am absolutely not condemning the Iranian people. Please understand this distinction, especially in the case of students attempting to end what they see as pointless, genocidal slaughter by specifically the government.

Additionally, I ask you this not to muddy the waters but to have a clear understanding of your own belief and definitions to see if I can help you understand why we call the administration fascist.

My definition is not “some new leftist definition” it is the definition given by Britannica and Wikipedia.

According to Wikipedia, fascism is “a far-right, authoritarian, and ultranationalist political ideology and movement, characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy, subordination of individual interests for the perceived good of the nation or race, and strong regimentation of society and the economy.”

According to Britannica, fascism is (as stated in the second paragraph) “extreme militaristic nationalism, contempt for electoral democracy and political and cultural liberalism, a belief in natural social hierarchy and the rule of elites, and the desire to create a Volksgemeinschaft (German: “people’s community”), in which individual interests would be subordinated to the good of the nation.”

Genuinely, may I have a source or backing for you definition if you have one? If you do not that is alright, but I would like to know your source if you do have one.

If you would like I can go through each point of either definition and explain how I believe it aligns with the current administration, but for now this is long enough. If you have read all of this I earnestly thank you and apologize for my long winded nature, I read too many books for my own good.

“They’re dating your honor!”

Do they know they are dating?

Wait. Now I'm picturing todobakudeku, but only Bakugou thinks they're dating. Because him asking them out would fly over both their heads.

I think if anything, shoto would introduce them as his life partners and not bother clear up any misunderstandings. bakugo would be mad and deku would feel so honored that sb would refer to him as a partner

but yeah bakugo being the only one thinking they’re dating is rlly funny
