I’m so mad.
Listening to Coconut Mall is actually helping me work and write.
Congrats, you unhinged heathens win 😭🫶
The reading comprehension and overall common sense on this website is piss poor.

Yep, no doubt about it, that's going right into my doomed souls collection!
Firstly, I ask you to meet the second part of my request in explaining how Elon and trump are not (however incompetently) acting totalitarian and how they are not suppressing rights to benefit the state, or in this case the wealthy and the in group.
Explain how arresting Mahmoud Khalil, “a student activist and lead negotiator for the encampment in the 2024 Columbia University pro-Palestinian campus occupations” (which regardless of if you agree with the political movement is allowed within the United States under the first amendment. You do not have to agree with the protest or the cause to recognize all nonviolent protest should be protected if you want to protect some of it), being arrested by ICE is not an attempt to limit free speech and protest, as when upon being informed he was a lawful, permanent, legal resident, ICE, acting on orders from the State Department, said his status as this would be revoked instead (they initially assumed he had a student visa). His legal status within our nation is in danger of being revoked due to his political beliefs, which to my knowledge he never expressed violently.
Explain how disobeying orders from judges to not deport the thousands you have arrested immediately and to allow the people you have detained time and a fair trial as required for every person by the constitution is not authoritarian. Especially when refusing to turn a plane full of people you refuse to even name or identify heading towards a Venezuelan prison, despite the judge’s orders. Judges and a judges orders are not a suggestion, a thing you can ignore when it is inconvenient.
While you may claim that palensteinian support is inherently antisemitic, I must disagree (though I concede SOME people use it as a vessel for their antisemitism) as criticizing a state and its government specifically is not the same as condemning or criticizing an entire people group, even if the state is made entirely or almost entirely of those people. When I criticize the Catholic Church, I am not condemning Catholics, when I criticize the government of Iran and its own human rights violations I am absolutely not condemning the Iranian people. Please understand this distinction, especially in the case of students attempting to end what they see as pointless, genocidal slaughter by specifically the government.
Additionally, I ask you this not to muddy the waters but to have a clear understanding of your own belief and definitions to see if I can help you understand why we call the administration fascist.
My definition is not “some new leftist definition” it is the definition given by Britannica and Wikipedia.
According to Wikipedia, fascism is “a far-right, authoritarian, and ultranationalist political ideology and movement, characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy, subordination of individual interests for the perceived good of the nation or race, and strong regimentation of society and the economy.”
According to Britannica, fascism is (as stated in the second paragraph) “extreme militaristic nationalism, contempt for electoral democracy and political and cultural liberalism, a belief in natural social hierarchy and the rule of elites, and the desire to create a Volksgemeinschaft (German: “people’s community”), in which individual interests would be subordinated to the good of the nation.”
Genuinely, may I have a source or backing for you definition if you have one? If you do not that is alright, but I would like to know your source if you do have one.
If you would like I can go through each point of either definition and explain how I believe it aligns with the current administration, but for now this is long enough. If you have read all of this I earnestly thank you and apologize for my long winded nature, I read too many books for my own good.
I guess I need to stop talking to everyone at my school then!
I need to remind myself that knowingly exposing oneself to stupid peoples' opinions probably constitutes as self-harm.
hi, a lot of you need a perspective reset
the average human lifespan globally is 70+ years
taking the threshold of adulthood as 18, you are likely to spend at least 52 years as a fully grown adult
at the age of 30 you have lived less than one quarter of your adult life (12/52 years)
'middle age' is typically considered to be between 45-65
it is extremely common to switch careers, start new relationships, emigrate, go to college for the first or second time, or make other life-changing decisions in middle age
it's wild that I even have to spell it out, but older adults (60+) still have social lives and hobbies and interests.
you can still date when you get old. you can still fuck. you can still learn new skills, be fashionable, be competitive. you can still gossip, you can still travel, you can still read. you can still transition. you can still come out.
young doesn't mean peaked. you're inexperienced in your 20s! you're still learning and practicing! you're developing social skills and muscle memory that will last decades!
there are a million things to do in the world, and they don't vanish overnight because an imaginary number gets too big
