‼️-PSA-‼️

if you write fanfic, then listen up!

your reader should never ever blush to the eye, because black people (and obviously other races) exist and many can’t blush to the eye

alternatives: get flustered, heat rushes to their face, or they may appear bashful

that is all, please respect all POC because they don’t deserve to be ignored. please don’t be ignorant, thank youuu

mmm also! please think of gn!reader fics. i’m non-binary and it’s so hard to find shit. so please, sincerely, let me read content that pertains to me. and when someone puts “S/O” in a request. don’t make it a fem!reader >:(

(edit: PARDON? where tf did y’all come from? thanks tho <3)

(edit 2: i see y’all encanto hoes liking and reblogging /lh /pos)

(edit 3: me to everyone on this post 🥰)

If Y/N is related to a character then that's an OC. Please label your fics correctly 😩 I'm tired of reading fics and then finding out I'm related to a character....

I'm not white yall...a lot of us aren't....

I'm very happy that most writers of Euphoria do lable their fics correctly!

This is just a vent/rant post so if you wanna skip you can.

To All writers and readers

Can people who write stories PLEASE PLEASE stop saying it's _____ x reader then in the middle of me reading it I see a description that could never be me. I understand you don't know what all your readers look like but at that point it isn't an x reader it's x oc and I'm sure the writing is still great but I don't have straight hair, I'm not 4'11 or 5'7, I don't have freckles, I don't have beautiful green eyes, and not everyone is curvy. Nothing is wrong with these traits they are all beautiful traits but they aren't all readers it would be easier if you put oc at the top or something. It makes me feel a little sad cause it makes me think that the comfort characters or the character/person I'm reading won't want me cause everytime I see reader I see the description of someone that doesn't even look anywhere close to me. It's like hey it's a y/n story but she/he/they look how I want them to look.

And I know it's their story but a warning at the top would be nice and I'm sure it's really hard to write some of this stuff believe me I've literally tried. Kudos to those who actually still write and to those who write these types of stories. I'm sorry if this seems like a really harsh bash just please put a warning or something at the top that says "It's a y/n/ reader story but it includes my own description of the reader" yk what I mean

Idk if it's only me and if it is sorry for the long rant.(I also don't know how to put the keep reading thingy)

6 Tips on Writing An Actually Inclusive Reader Insert:

1. Do a ctrl + f search of the colors red and pink. If these colors are being used to describe the reader in any way, delete it.

2. Instead of "blushing", use "goosebumps", "shivers", "avoiding eye contact", etc. It still conveys the same thing, and you can get more creative than just using "blushing" 10,000 times.

3. Don't mention being pale or becoming pale (like, seriously, this is just a given). If you want to talk about the reader looking sick or dying, use "ghastly" or "sunken eyes", etc. Again, this is a great opportunity to be more creative in your language as well as inclusive

4. For body-inclusivity, don't talk about the reader sharing clothes with someone. I personally would not fit into anything that Nancy Wheeler owns, so yeah, let's just not do this

5. Don't mention hair. A lot of us can't just wash our hair and move on with our day. Don't get me started on "running their fingers across their hair". Just refrain from descriptions of styling, washing, and touching the reader's hair.

6. Don't put pictures of pretty, white girls for "aesthetics". It honestly just deters readers, and it's just not inclusive in the slightest

That's it, that's basically all you need to do to be inclusive. I'll admit, as a lighter skin POC writer, some of these did slip my mind when I used to write, but what's important is actually listening to readers and encouraging inclusivity in your writing.

If anyone has any other suggestions, feel free to put your own.

If you're gonna horny write for moon knight or literally any writting of moon knight, consider that most systems...are gonna feel unsafe around you if you write:

Where a y/n or ship has it to where the front switches in the middle of sex, without exclusively before hand laying out that the whole system is dating them and is consenting; if not that's assault and shows how you don't believe in alter individuality or rights! You're fucking vile!

Respect that moon knight is a system and not ignore it or only use it for a joke or pun in your fic! Surprise! It affects everyone in the system and is serious!

IF YOU DONT LISTEN TO HOW SYSTEMS FEEL ABOUT WHAT YOU MADE. YOUR SEXUAL GRATIFICATION OF OBSESSING OVER MOON KNIGHT WILL NEVER BE MORE IMPORTANT THAN RESPECT FOR SYSTEMS!!!!

If you see this out in the wild or in fics, call out the author. Have them rewrite or delete it. Do not turn a blind eye even if you're not a system either.

I full heartily agree with this

Things not to do when you write fics:

1.) Don't tag it 'x reader' when you make it an oc... big no no.

2.) Don't post masterlists if there is nothing is on there (thats a personal thing for me idk abt y'all)

3.) When you don't put the summary and warnings down... it's annoying and it also doesn't help you because no one knows what they finna read🤷🏽‍♀

4.) WHEN WE DONT KNOW WHAT THE PAIRING OR SHIP IS (put it at the top plz).

5.) Using wrong tags... just don't do it ...please

6.) BACK TO # 1 DO NOT TAG IT X READER IF YOU MAKE IT AN OC ITS NOT COOL!! I DONT HAVE PALE SKIN AND LONG CURLY HAIR SIS

7.) This one is just for appreciation for the ppl who write fics open for everyone who use the following; H/C, E/C, S/C, and the most important... ✨Y/N✨.
