i’m out to a close group of friends but nobody else. i can imagine coming out to everyone but my family. when i imagine transitioning i know pretty much what i want to do- top surgery, bottom surgery, and testosterone if i’m still dysphoric. but i don’t know how i would tell my family or when. they’re transphobic, but otherwise really good people- my parents raised me well and my extended family is really nice and get me presents. i love them and i don’t want to lose them over being myself.
Hey there, it's great that you already have an idea of what you want to do in terms of transition. It's also great that you have close and supportive friends who you are out to. Even only being out to a few people is much better than not being out at all.
As for your family, don't feel pressured to come out to them if you are not ready or know that they'll be unsupportive or transphobic. PLEASE DO NOT COME OUT TO THEM IF IT WILL PUT YOU IN ANY DANGER, EVEN IF YOU REALLY WANT TO.
You don't even need to tell them when you transition. It does mean that you won't be able to transition until you are an adult, but you can transition without their permission and let them work it out when they see you.
Hope this helps :)
