If anyone is really sick of modern approaches to social media (cough cough Twitter cough Instagram) you should really consider joining spacehey!!!! #not an ad I've been on it for a month now and it's basically a blogging site in the style of old internet myspace.
pros:
super customizable!! It lets you create an HTML theme for ur profile like on here & there are many (thousands) free themes made by the community to choose from.
Little to no focus on follower counts/popularity. Users have to request following a person so that you have complete control over who gets to see your blog posts/bulletins.
No ads. NONE. No verification or third-party ad accounts. If any appear they are quickly reported and removed!!!
Feels personal & private. You have options to create a fully private account or post things like private blogs. These options are great if you just want a place to keep a fun diary.
ITS SIMPLE. Sometimes all you need is a site that doesn't get flooded with screenshots of pinterest memes or influencer drama. You are free to post these ofc but why would you? The spacehey community values individuality & old internet philosophy (aka fuck corporations & influencers) and the posts reflect this.
cons:
The minor problem. Like other social media sites, anyone over the age of 13 is allowed on the site. This does not stop all the younglings to join, however. Of course this problem exists on all sites but it should still be mentioned. These accounts are pretty easy to spot though (because they are stupid enough to write their age in their bio *cries*) and therefore are swiftly removed if reported.
Small community. A small community can be really fun to interact with at times, it is easy to keep up with recent blog entries and so on. But very rarely do I see people interact with members in places such as groups or forums. Replying to individual people is also very difficult in some situations. To get the best experience you would have to spend a lot of time on the site.
To conclude, I think it's a great place if you want your own personal online space. There are so many different fandoms present and I cant help but image how much greater it would be if more people were interested in joining. :)

People get built different. We don't have to figure it out. We just need to respect it.
