Before the fire that turned her world upside down, she could not deny she lived an idyllic life. Once upon a time she was naïve to the cruelty and unfairness that infected the human experience like the plague. She didn’t have time to acclimate. If she wanted her younger siblings to survive – she had to change. Become someone different, someone hard who would do anything to keep going. From her own experience, she couldn’t help but agree. “Sometimes I believe I am too aware. As if my skin is analogous to a live wire. As if I don't know how to turn my survival instinct off.
