Hm...this sounds weird, but how about a world where when people get into relationships, you gain part of a soul, but when you break up with someone, you lose a part of your soul and when you lose your entire soul, you feel nothing. The only way to get a part of your soul back is to get into another relationship with someone. Wouldn’t this include:

•People with a phobia of losing their soul

•People who are polygamous to gain immortality and cheat the system
