Its pretty obvious isn't it? It's what we were actually told in the film. Nothing wrong with him showing up on the bench. We don't know what device they used for time travel in that reality.

If Steve ended up in an alternate timeline with Peggy, he would have come back through the time machine, not be sitting on the park bench which heavily implies he inserted himself into his own timeline and married his Peggy, thereby wiping out her husband who he saved according to Peggy in a video in TWS. He let Bucky suffer for all those years. It is something I have been thinking about. Steve never lived his life in an alternate timeline because he never came back through the time machine.

I really don’t think the movie supports this. Bruce very specifically says changing the past does not change your future. So that says right there that this theory doesn’t hold water. Otherwise they could have killed Thanos as a baby, like Rhodey suggested, and changed everything. But even if what you say was the case, and Steve went back in the main MCU timeline and left Bucky with HYDRA and married Peggy and erased her life, then the present would be different. Nothing would have happened as it did, so what are the odds Sam and Buck and Bruce would be there just as they were? Would this moment have even happened? Steve would have been old during the fight with the Chitauri and TWS and CW and IW. He could never have done anything that he did. Everything would be wildly different. He couldn’t just change Peggy’s timeline and leave everything else to happen the exact same way to lead them to that moment. All these characters are way too pivotal to the story for that to make sense.

So I think it’s way more likely he created an alternate timeline. Maybe the Hank Pym of his timeline sent him back? Maybe Dr. Strange did it? He already deals in the multiverse. He looked through 14 million iterations of the multiverse in IW, after all. The point is there are explanations that work. Also, sometimes writers explain things after the fact. Sometimes they leave it open for a reason or because they want the audience to interpret it. And sometimes you have to work the plot as best you can around the important, emotional scene you want (old Steve returning to give Sam his shield). It doesn’t always work entirely. But, to me, this does. And Bucky absolutely knew Steve’s plan. Which means to me Steve had his blessing.

Time travel shenanigans always lead to this 😊 Just my take. I have seen some really good meta on alternate timelines and realities and the multiverse. Maybe someone wants to add?

Chechnya is holding gay men in concentration camps

Gay men are being held in “camps” in the Chechen Republic where they are subjected to torture and beatings, human rights campaigners have claimed.

More terrible, deeply triggering news from Chechnya in Russia: Reports indicate that gay men are not only being abducted, but held in concentration camps, where they are being tortured and a few have been killed.

The claims follow reports last week that 100 gay men had been rounded up and imprisoned in Chechnya, with at least three people allegedly murdered. The allegations were made by a Russian newspaper and human rights campaigners. “In Chechnya, the command was given for a ‘prophylactic sweep’ and it went as far as real murders,” independent newspaper Novaya Gazeta claimed. Speaking to the MailOnline, Svetlana Zakharova from the Russian LGBT network, said:  “Gay people have been detained and rounded up and we are working to evacuate people from the camps and some have now left the region.

“Those who have escaped said they are detained in the same room and people are kept altogether, around 30 or 40. They are tortured with electric currents and heavily beaten, sometimes to death.”

I don’t have words. Amnesty International is circulating a petition seeking justice. Hold these people in your hearts. Truly, I’m speechless.

I’m so proud of my people. When you are going to protest in Russia, you don’t know whats gonna be next for you, are you gonna be injured, are you gonna be in jail for your constitutional right to protest? It doesnt matter if you very old or very young, they are taking everyone.

There is not a single word about it on a federal channels. 

Anything can happen and there is only a small chance that justice will prevail.  

Nevertheless they persisting and i’m proud of it. 

I hope no one get seriously injured.

Some thoughts on fandom hatred in a time of hate and ugliness

The extreme negativity of the few assholes who style themselves “anti-Tony Stark” must be exhausting.

And this extends to ANY so-called “fan” who actively hates another fandom, a ship, a character – I don’t care what. You should be ashamed.

If you are simmering in your stew of hatred, thinking about hating a fictional story or ship or character every day, spending your precious time and energy blogging your jealousy or hatred…or worse, stalking the fandom tags and trying to ruin the joy of fandom for others – then you are part of the ugliness and negativity in this world that only leads to more ugliness and hate.

And don’t you think there’s more than enough hatred in this world already?

Do we really need hate and toxicity in fandom??

Fandom is supposed to be a fun escape for people who are passionate about a fictional character or characters, a story, a show or movie, a performer. If you try to turn that against itself, you’re not only unworthy of being a “fan,” you are part of this world’s problems.

Can you imagine, for instance, making a blog and a tag about some fictional thing you dislike – and then literally going onto the fandom tag of the people who love that character, or stalking passionate fans who love that particular thing, and spreading your hatred and ugliness?  

Can you imagine TRYING to ruin the joy and happiness of people who maintain a loyal fandom for that character – building whole blogs hating the thing they love, calling them names, sending them literal death threats, trying to – I don’t know what? “Change their minds” about a character they love?

That’s a fool’s errand. It won’t happen. Throwing slings and arrows at a thing only makes the people who love that thing circle the wagons in protection of what they love, and love it even more. Ruin their happiness? You can try - but it won’t happen. Really all you succeed in doing is having them think less of YOU – that you’re a bully and that you’re ridiculous.

You may think you’re having “fun” by being jealous of and hating a fandom, a character or a ship and spreading the hate around. You may wallow in this mire with a few other small-minded individuals who, like you, only want to curse and hate and defame and threaten. 

But in the end it’s not much “fun,” is it? Hating is toxic; it eats at the soul of the hater. Hate and negativity is usually the tactic of people with low self-esteem who want to build themselves up by attacking something. If you surround yourself with negativity and spend so much energy on bullying and hating and jealousy, it will come back upon YOU. You’re the one creating and living in the toxic stew. You’re the one spending your time actively trying to ruin others’ joy. You create your own reality. And – on top of all that – it’s just not getting you anywhere. Your negativity makes the lovers of the thing love the thing even more. It makes them actively dislike YOU. So you’re basically stuck in a poisonous loop of your own making.

How much better it would be, for your own mental health, to simply avoid the things you dislike, instead of showering toxicity on people who love and enjoy the things? How much better to spend your time and energy on POSITIVE things – blogging about the things you love, for instance?

tl; dr: Just about every day, we see that the world has more than enough hate and bullying and negativity. We don’t need it in fandom as well.
