So, um.
I may be starting to get a weeeee bit annoyed with people on the r/Hermitcraft subreddit.
Like, when I made the meme that is still getting an insane amount of notes (holy crap thank you so much I am super flattered), it was understandable that people didn't know what it was in reference to. I went, "ah, probably should have linked Cleo's vid!" and lived and learned, you know?
But Cleo's video has been out for a week. It's only twenty minutes long, and the moment when they and Grian meet up is five minutes into the video.
And like. Grian seems to really want people to see his friends' videos? Like when Gem's snail arrived, he deliberately left that plot thread dangling to be answered in Gem's video. The guy has made an eight hour video showing off the other Hermits' bases. I also highly suspect that one reason Grian is one of the last people to upload collab videos he's in is because his higher subscriber count means his video will automatically racket up to the top of the recommended page, and he wants his friends' videos to get a head start on him.
So the fact that there's this significant amount of Grian fans who won't even watch five minutes of someone else's video to get an answer that Grian left hanging is ... it's just super disappointing, ngl.
And just. Don't even get me started on that "continuity error" comment. I actually had a pretty long response to that on reddit. TL;DR: it's not a continuity error because there's perfect continuity as long as you watch Cleo's video.
Grian does not have to fill in the gaps, that's not his responsibility, nor should it be. The point of a series like Hermitcraft is that you get multiple perspectives. If you're upset that one perspective doesn't show everything, then you shouldn't be watching SMPs.
TECHNOBLADE IN THE GALLERY!!
The reception for my BFA thesis is TONIGHT! I’ve definitely fallen off of posting regularly here, but I will share process updates as soon as I have some more free time.
but HE’S FINALLY DONE!!!
Haven't watched bbh in a bit, but I've been seeing clips and honestly good for him.
Hope he continues to bring paranoia and fear into that server.
Let him be the antagonist and bring anguish.
[Also, the cathedral is looking good asf. I hope he continues.]
dennis is my favourite
the ending to martyn’s recent episode was wild, didn’t know the sheep were violent like that
tried to imitate the game quest ui design featuring molly’s sheep’s… unusual quest.

i've not been super into hermitcraft recently, but i just started watching misadventures and i really like it!
Shout out to the USA for pissing Canadians off so bad it flipped an entire election that was supposed to be a landslide for the center-right, forever in your debt o7
I'm still thinking about how a few days ago when Bad was having that out of character talk with Tubbo and others about The Realm and the issues he and others were having where Bad just admitted that he was only matching the energy he thought was being put out there and he would be willing to pull back if people asked.
I think a lot of people forget that Badboyhalo (the creator) leans into playing chaotic villain character that causes problems but he is genuinely a very sweet dude who wants things to be fair. He plays the antagonist because he knows someone has to for things to be interesting. That is how he helps contribute to the story on servers. He gives people someone to go against.
On every server he plays on he falls into the role of a cartoonishly evil character with messed up morals because that's fun and interesting! Bad cares about things being interesting and he will always choose the more interesting choice! His character is as smart or stupid as the most interesting choice requires! If he thinks it's interesting he will walk straight into a trap knowingly! He understands rp is a story told between people and he always does his best to create a scenario that gives other people a chance to do interesting things.
I think a lot of people don't see past the character Bad plays but especially the last few weeks you have been able to see it in the way how Bad freaks out and starts panicking every time he accidentally kills someone. The character he plays is evil but Bad the creator is not and he did not mean to do that! Eventually when he recollects himself he'll play it off in character as being intentional but Bad even admitted on that stream that he played into it because it was interesting for the story! He did not actually mean to kill people but it already happened so it may as well be made interesting and impactful to the plot!
I just have so much respect for him because playing the antagonist is a hard and often thankless job but he throws himself into the role constantly. We have him to thank for pretty much any lore on The Realm right now because he's so passionate about keeping a story fun and exciting. Out of character he's always willing to communicate so I hope that conversation opens up more communication so people coordinate things better.
with the recent news of iskall (and stress) leaving hermitcraft, a quick reminder: do not watch any drama videos speculating on what has happened, or trying to sensationalise the issue. dont trust anything anyone says about his departure unless it comes from a hermit or close friend of iskall's. when bad things goes down in ""clean"" communities, drama channels jump on that shit like sharks to blood. dont give them the time of day. dont feed into the speculation
you can absolutely be upset, or disappointed, or conflicted. but dont let yourself succumb to watching every drama video trying to get answers - most dont care about those affected, or the hermitcraft members, or even iskall. they want the cheap buck of making a video about something going wrong in a generally drama-free community. best thing we can do is support the remaining hermits and be on the look out for information verified by hermits themselves
*sigh*
