a/n: this is honestly just self indulgent.

Bakugo doesn't typically get nervous.

He felt confident in his academic ability. While Yaoyorozu took the spot as the top ranking student from the recent math test, he was still near the top with a near perfect score.

As for his quirk, he's come a long way being a third year and all. He continues to surpass his limits every day. He feels satisfied while looking at the gradual progression of his physical ability.

Regardless, there's no preparation when he sees you walk into homeroom.

He can feel his heart beating a bit faster than usual. Hearing his heart beating in his ears.

So he tries to slow down his breathing.

But that makes his head go dizzy.

So he throws that plan out the window.

He tries to breathe like normal. But then what's the normal pace for breathing? Or what was normal for him?

He can feel his palm get sweaty as he was gripping his pencil. He quickly wipes his hands on his uniform pants.

Small, almost silent, pricks can be heard from the combination of Bakugo's quirk and his pants.

All while he is trying to remember how to breathe normally.

He almost didn’t realize that you sat next time to him if it wasn't your perfume.

It was sweet.

You were sweet. Always considerate and kind towards your friends.

Friends.

Pretty sure you guys are somewhat friends, Bakugo likes to think.

You guys don’t talk much though, Bakugo tries to keep the conversation to a minimum, not because he doesn't like you.

Quite the opposite, actually. It's because he will turn into a stuttering, blushing mess if you look at him with those pretty eyes of yours.

Don't believe me? Let's take a look at last week incident, shall we?

It was a day at gym gamma for class 1-a, typical quirk-strengthening session for them. Everyone was occupied with their own physical abilities.

Kirishima, in particular, was tearing up a rock wall with his hardening quirk. The wall began to have multiple cracks, in fact, a large one was scaling to the top.

A piece of debris was about to fall.

Kirishima looked up a bit too late and saw that the slab of rock was leaning above Bakugo.

Bakugo, on the other hand, was absorbed in his training as he was perfecting his aim for his AP shot move. His arms felt heavy and his arms were getting tired of the weight of his gauntlets.

"Bakugo, watch out!" Kirishima calls out.

Bakugo quickly looks to his side, listening to Kirishima's warning, but he realizes what used to be a sunny spot, was overshadowed by something.

Bakugo looks up and sees the upcoming rubble.

He didn't have time to blink before the falling debris was pulverized.

Bakugo looked in awe yet confusion at how sudden all this was, and wondering how did he not get smushed?

"You're a real damsel in distress aren't you?"

Bakugo's eyes widened at the familiar feminine voice and the source as to why he wasn't just crushed right now.

He looks to his left side and sees you smirking.

Actually, he wished the boulder crushed him.

"Y-you're the real damsel in distress here!"

"Yeah? Will you be my knight and shining armor, then?" Y/n said while nearing Bakugo.

Katsuki's face felt like it was on fire. He developed enough sweat to blow up a small village.

"No, of course not! Save yourself!"

"Aaah so you don't want to be number one then, huh?"

"Huh!? I-I never said that! Don't put words in my mouth, extra!"

Y/n only chuckled a bit and as the moment passed, she looked at Bakugo with a look that he couldn't really describe, but she looked like she was on the cusp of asking something.

But she blew out some air and walked away, returning to her spot in the gym to resume her training.

And you being effortlessly stunning doesn’t really help.

“Pst, Bakugo. Did you study for today’s quiz?”

Bakugo nearly jumped out of his seat. Hearing you say his name was music to his ears. His heart beat feels like a rising crescendo on a drum set.

"Tch, of course."

"Damn, I kinda forgot" Y/n laughed a bit and sent an easy-going smile his way.

Bakugo feels like he's melting at that smile of yours. It's like you want him to embarrass himself.

Before Bakugo can reprimand you, Aizawa enters the classroom and begins class.

The bell rang, signaling it's time for lunch.

Class 1-a made their way to the cafeteria, splitting to different groups as such.

Bakugo was observant. Well, specifically towards Y/n. He felt like whenever he got the chance his eyes always gravitated towards her.

Y/n typically sat at Midoryia's table, so she was walking beside Uraraka towards the line to get food.

"Ooo! Y/n, c',mon, hurry! They are going to run out of curry buns!" Uraraka urges her friend to join her in running to make the line.

"Alright, alright. I'm coming!" She starts to pick up the pace.

However, there was a small puddle in Y/n's way, of course, she didn't notice this.

One wrong placement of her foot, and she was slipping backwards.

Uraraka looked back and realized, but it was too late as she reached out her hand, hoping to help.

Y/n squeezed her eyes shut at the impact, but it never came.

Someone did catch Y/n.

And it was a certain spiky haired kid with sandy blonde hair who had the biggest crush on her.

Y/n opened her eyes and looked into Bakugo's.

It took a couple seconds to realize how close they were.

They were so close, so close that if they were any closer, they would probably touch-

Oh, boy, did they turn into ripe tomatoes.

Bakugo immediately raised Y/n so quickly as if her skin was scalding hot water. Y/n letting out a small yelp in response.

Now, they stood facing each other, letting silence take over.

"Um-"

"Thanks for catching me!" Y/n spoke quickly and began to speed walk in the opposite direction, trying to catch up with Uraraka.

While Bakugo was still trying to process at how close in proximity they were just a few seconds ago.

It was quick, but Y/n turned back to see Bakugo still standing there.

She looked sorta conflicted, but she ended up quickly making her way back to Bakugo. Until she was right infront of him once again, but was a lot closer.

She quickly got on her tip toes and kissed his cheek and said, "I guess you really are my knight in shining armor." And once again, turned and left as fast as she arrived, leaving Bakugo speechless.

He felt like his world stopped for a good minute.

He touched his cheek where you kissed, trying to savor the feeling.

“You okay, y/n?” Ochako asked as her friend finally caught up to her.

“Yeah, just a bit flustered is all.” Y/n reassured with a small smile.

It was the end of the school day, class 1-a was retiring to their dorm rooms.

Y/n was walking with Mina while Bakugo and Kirishima were behind them.

"How well do you think you did on that quiz today? I guessed on some of them, but I feel like I got most of the concepts down." Mina questions.

"Let's just say I'd be surprised if I got anything right on that quiz." Y/n said with a scratching the back of her head in embarrassment.

Mina throws her head back and laughs, as Y/n looks down with a small smile playing her lips.

"Hey Y/n, you should get Bakugo to tutor you. He may not look it, but he really gets the material." Kirishima refers to his explosive bestie.

Kirishima knew the little crush Bakugo had, it was obvious to see. Nonetheless, Y/n felt that maybe her feelings weren't reciprocated.

Y/n looks behind at Kirishima, head nods, then turns her attention to Bakugo.

Bakugo took a self note to blast Kirishima into the sky later for putting him on the spot, especially in front Y/n.

"It's not that hard." Bakugo mumbled.

Y/n noticed Bakugo's face to be redder than usual, but she chalked it up to the cold weather at the moment.

Kirishima and Mina shared a knowing looked, which led to Mina exasperatedly say, "Okay, well we'll let you guys sort out of the details. Let's go Kirishima! Let's see what we are having for dinner." Mina and Kirishima walked off to the dorm building.

Y/n made a mental note to scold Mina about leaving her alone, especially with Bakugo.

There was some silence.

Bakugo felt like his mind was going a million miles per hour at the moment. Trying to find the right words to go about this.

"So, I hear you're a tutor" "We can tutor in my room"

They spoke at the same time.

Then the silence erupted again.

The mere thought of being alone in a room with Bakugo, even just studying, made Y/n turn into a tomato.

While Bakugo thought he jumped the gun at offering his room to study. She didn't even ask yet!

"That sounds great!" "N-no I mean."

Again, simultaneously.

Y/n let out a breathy laugh at how awkward this is going. If only the pair weren’t so awkward with each other.

"Oh, so you can't tutor me?" Y/n asked slowly to make sure she's clear.

"No! I mean, yes!"

Y/n titled her head to one side in confusion at his dual answers.

Bakugo thought it was the cutest thing, though.

"I mean, I can tutor you” Bakugo lets out a breath he didn't know he was holding, “if you want”.

Y/n let out a sigh of relief as well, trying to calm her racing heart.

"I'd like that." Y/n smiles at Bakugo and he feels his legs turn to jelly. He merely nods, trying to act cool.

Y/n turns to walk into the dorms. As soon as she is inside, Bakugo finally lets up on his stone-cold feature and jumps up in excitement at being successful in talking to Y/n.

He even raised his fist in the air for the achievement, doing his happy dance.

The moment of success was short lived as he turned back to the entrance of the dorms and spots Y/n through the window, staring at him with wide eyes.

Bakugo is beyond embarrassed.

However, y/n just offers a lighthearted smile and a wave.

He returns the favor and walks in.

As much as he thought that he was an absolute dork in front of her, he couldn’t help the smile that reached his face.

This is actually inspired by a song from Girl and the Dreamcatcher “glowing in the dark” you guys should listen to it first to get the full experience/emotion while reading this.

You stood in front of his grave, visiting for the 4th time this month.

Your beloved fiance, Bakugou who served so many people during his rise as the number 2 hero. He risked his life to save others’ and you knew the risks, you knew the consequences.

You knew that something like this would happen

“I miss you, so much” You whisper, tears fighting the urge to spill out from your dreary eyes. The rose you held slowly being crushed by the pressure you put on it, dropping it onto his grave, you wish he was here.

And he was, he was behind you-

“I love you, Katsuki” Tears finally slipping from your eyes as you hug yourself in the gloomy weather.

You have no idea how much it hurt him to see you like this.

You walk towards the car that was waiting to pick you up from the cemetery, hopping in you looked out your window only to find out that your leave was right on time as it started to rain hard.

You sat back, closing your eyes until you felt a pair of hands caressing your face.

You were shocked and you opened your eyes to see nothing, but it felt so familiar. You felt it again, this time it was a comforting weight on your thigh-

You didn’t know if you were going crazy but you swear you felt two light touches on your body and you could’ve sworn that the touches felt like your fiance’s rough and calloused hands.

You finally arrive at your shared home with Katsuki, sitting down in front of the fireplace trying to rationalize what you just felt earlier in the car.

She can feel me

Katsuki thought to himself, but alas, he was nothing but an entity now. You couldn’t see him nor hear him, but you could feel him. And somehow that felt comforting.

Your phone rings, a notification of a message from Mina

Hey! I know you still feel… well- you’re still grieving about his death, and well uhm, me and the girls wanted to ask if you wanted to join us at the club to take your mind off of things?

Let us know right away, kay?

You left them on read and thought about the offer. She did have a point, you’ve been sulking for nearly 5 months already, not going out of the house, the only time you ever go out is to visit his grave.

And so, without a second thought you stood up from in-front of the fireplace and got dressed up.

A short plain black dress that fully accentuated your curves, The dress you wore on the night he asked you to be there by his side as his wife to be.

He was right there, in the corridor looking at how you checked yourself one last time in the mirror mindlessly going through his shadow-y figure.

Still as gorgeous as the last time he saw you.

Walking into the club you spotted Mina with Uraraka, Momo and Asui.

You had a few shots with them and they dragged you into the dance floor, letting loose and finally getting your mind off of Katsuki.

As you were dancing to the beat of the music, you couldn’t help but open your eyes only to see Him.

What was he doing here-

A person walked past and he disappeared.

What the fuck. You swear you saw him- and he knew you saw him too by the way you reacted.

All throughout the night you felt uneasy, trying to go back to your table, you sat down and saw his face in the crowd clearly.

As if he were still alive.

His skin wasn’t pale, it looked like he was still breathing, he didn’t look dead

You walked up to him, seeing if what you were witnessing is true and then you touched him.

“Katsuki-“ you say as you bump your forehead with his

“Baby, I fucking missed you” he said, lifting your face to see you in all your glowing glory.

“I missed you too suki, please come back” you slowly sway with him to the beat of the music.

“I’m right here baby, i’m right here” he embraced your waist as the both of you started to move with the crowd.

“I love you Katsuki, I wish you didn’t leave so soon” you sob, placing your face in the crook of his neck, you feel hot tears burning from your eyes. You’re just glad that you were able to feel him again.

“I know baby, I love you too, fuck- I missed you” he said, pulling you in closer.

“Y/n?” You were called by Mina.

“Y/n, what are you doing- why are you hugging air?”

You look at her with confusion, and then you looked back to see that Katsuki wasn’t there anymore.

“I- I thought he was-“ you say, feeling overwhelmed and weak.

“Y/n, Hun, come here” Mina opened up her arms, calling you in with a warm embrace.

“We all miss him, even the boys miss him. We all loved him and we know how much you’re hurting”

“I just- I saw him, Mina. He was here with me”

He was with you, he’s in the crowd watching you hug your best friend from afar.

All he could visualize is a spotlight that was glowing down on you, giving you that heavenly aura he craved.

and Kirishima is just distracted by his own tail just ...chasing it 🥺😭💖

Thinking about Katsu having a huge crush on you and overhearing you laugh and joke with Hanta and Denki while saying in passing “I love a man that can make me laugh.”

Thinking about how he goes to the library to check out joke books, watches stand up comedy shows, sits and suffers through all of the Spongebob episodes because he’s heard you and the morons quoting it from sun up to sun down.

And like he goes to Kiri because he can’t go to Denki or Hanta because they will absolutely tell you as soon as he speaks to them about it. So he goes to Kiri and is like “Teach me how to be funny.” and Kiri is just like “What are ya talking about man. You’re already funny!” And Katsu just huffs in annoyance because he hears you laughing again, this time at some stupid impression of Endeavor Denki is attemtping.

And suddenly Katsu loses it because why the fuck is Sparky able to make you laugh that hard? What’s Sparky got that he doesn’t? So he stomps over to you, hanta and Denki as yall are just catching your breaths from the laughing fit. Katsuki glares at the three of you and you smile up at him.

“Oh, hey Bakugo.You good?” And he doesn’t even hear you speaking because he’s staring at your dimples and your flushed cheeks, and the way your eyes are slightly crinkled and he thinks “Why does she hafta be so fucking cute?” Then he turns to Denki and is like “That’s a shit impression. The old man sounds more like this.” and he musters up all his strength to absolutely NAIL an Endeavor impression and it’s so spot on that everyone in the immediate vicinity starts cracking up laughing, including you.

You’re laughing so hard you’re wheezing and the cackles of the rest of his friends means absolutely nothing to him. Because he did it, he got you to laugh, which means maybe, when he finally gets the courage to ask you out, you’ll say yes.

a/n: Just a lil something based on my adventures last night haha

The first crackle of thunder sounds throughout the house and Katsuki takes the headphones off his ears and pauses his game. He stares at the door to the game room with a tiny smirk.

“Yo Blasty, you good over there? Why are we paused?” Denki says over the headset.

“Just gimme a damn second Sparky. I’m waiting on somethin’,” he says, eyes still locked on the closed door.

Lightning lights up the sky a few minutes later and right after, a large crack of thunder shakes the house so much Katsuki winces slightly. His smile widens as he hears the commotion in the house.

A door being wrenched open, a pair of soft stomps getting closer to the game room door and then finally, the door bursting open to show a very terrified you standing in the doorway looking at Katsuki with wide eyes and your hands cupped over your ears.

“Ahh there she is,” Katsuki says, chuckling to himself. He holds a hand out to you and very quickly you tiptoe over to him, grab his hand and slip onto his lap to bury your face in his neck.

“What’s going on man, you good?” It’s Kirishima’s voice this time, a hint of worry in his voice.

“Tsk, yeah I’m good. Will just have a guest with me for the rest of the time we’re playin’,” he says, wrapping an arm around your back to maneuver you so he can comfortably reach the mouse. Another rumble of thunder and you whimper and tighten your grip around his neck.

“Where are your headphones Sweets?” he asks softly in your ear.

“Dead and charging,” you reply in a muffled voice from his neck.

He chuckles again. “S’alright. I gotcha,” he whispers.

You’re so goddamn cute when you’re like this. You’re usually not this clingy. Sure, you like to hold his hand when the two of you are out, or you drape a leg over him when the two of you are sitting on the couch watching tv, but usually you’re to yourself, quiet and vibing.

“Tell the guys I say hi,” you say, as your breath tickles his neck.

“They can hear ya,” he replies ”Don’t be rude fuckers, say hi to my girl,” he bites back.

A chorus of hellos ring out from the headsets and you smile at the screen before another thunderclap hits and your back to hiding in Katsuki’s neck.

Katsuki won’t admit it aloud but thunderstorms are his favorite. It never fails. Whenever the storms start you find him wherever he is in the house and cling to him for dear life. He knows you’re strong, knows you don’t usually show this vulnerability around anyone else but he loves that you show it with him. He loves the idea that when you’re completely terrified you run to him, you seek him out, you trust him enough to protect you.

So he holds you and rubs your back as you koala onto him during the storm. He places soft kisses on your forehead between cool downs and breaks while he’s gaming with the rest of his friends and when your headphones are finally charged, he plays with one hand so you can sit at his feet and squeeze his hand when the thunder is too loud for the music to drown out.

“Alright fuckers, don’t think just cuz I’m gaming with one hand you’ll be able to beat me. I’ll dominate you all,” he says as he gives you one last peck on the forehead and unpauses the game.
