Summary: You and Katsuki have have been dating for almost a year. You kept it a secret. It wasn't easy dating him but you made it work. But one day he says things that give you no choice.
Note: this doesn't have much of an end
Katsuki just wants to wrap his arms around you. Today was hard and you are always the balm smoothing him out again.
You have been a couple for almost a year now and besides Kiri and Iida nobody knows. The two of you almost slipped up today. You got into some trouble during a villain attack and Katsuki rushed in to help and hugged you not knowing the others were all there but Bakugou was quick to act.
He told you he'd come over and he didn't think much of you leaving him on read but now he is in front of a locked door and suddenly it all tastes bitter. Are you ignoring him?
"Hey, open up," he says and knocks again.
"I don't want to see you," you call from the other side of the door. "Get the hint."
"Open the door before I knock it down!" Katsuki feels his pulse rising. What is your problem? Why are you like this all of a sudden?
You open the door and he bursts in to see you standing there with crossed arms and sore cheeks.Â
What made you cry? His face softens and he means to reach for you but you flinch away.
"Leave!" You just whisper sharply, coldly. It feels like knives on his heart.
"What the fuck happened?" He utters, completely in the dark and you just scoff. "For fucks sake what's your damn problem? Just talk to me."
"That you don't even know isâ" you shake your head. "I don't want to be with you anymore, Bakugou. We're done."
"Bakugou? Fuck that! Tell me why you act so fuckingâ shitty!?" He feels his throat tighten with unease. Did you just break up with him? No. No.
"Well, maybe when even Eijirou says you are going too far then⌠just fucking stop," you blink back tears.
"But I didn't meanâ"
"Didn't you?" You meet his eyes now. "Then why use all my insecurities and traumas? You went too far and I am done! I'm just done with this! Fuck off!"
Katsuki's mouth falls open. He is in absolute shock. His heart is pounding so loudly he is sure you can hear it shatter. "I had to keep up our cover!" He just doesn't understand. His voice shakes. "I didn'tâ"
"I don't care," you sigh, defeated. "I don't care anymore. I can't do this⌠keeping this a secret⌠your hot and cold⌠I am not happy," you shrug then move to your bed, laying down with your back to him. You are crying, trying to hold your sobs in. You feel so dumb⌠so hurt. He didn't have to shoot so low. He didn't have to say those awful things.
Katsuki is trembling. It isn't anger this time like it is 99% of the time when he shook; it is fear. Is it over? No. He can't accept that. He can't just let that happen. You make his life so much better.
"(Y/N)... what can I do? I am sorry. I am sorry! You hear me!"
"You can leave," you breathe.
And Katsuki knows he has to but it is so hard. The tightness in his chest is suffocating. He feels so helpless. He feels so weak.
A moment later Kirishima opens his door to see his friend with tears welling at his lash line. And he isn't surprised at all.
Katsuki went too far.

You didn't go to class the next day. You got a doctor's note after explaining to Recovery Girl that you just needed a day to pick up the pieces. You returned to the dorms and fell face first into your bed. Where to even start? You should eat but the lump in your throat is so restricting that your appetite is lost. You should gather his stuff and put it in his room then you save yourself the interaction. You need to get rid of these feelings somehow or they will choke you for weeks. Write them out? Burn them? Scream them? You want to scream, want to undo all of it. You can't look at him the same anymore.
You really thought you could make it. You really thought despite it all you and Katsuki belong together. Everything was right until it wasn't. You understood why he wanted it to be a secret and of course you know how he is. But it was just too much. Especially with what he said.
Katsuki is staring at your empty seat and it fills him with anger. You can't avoid him. Is that your plan? It is stupid. It is ridiculous. He wants to jump up and get you. He wants to do something! But Eijirou told him you need space which is probably right. Katsuki can't think straight right now. His head is spinning. His heart is throbbing. He isn't one to sit still. He isn't one to just wait. He does things. He needs to fix things with you. This couldn't be it. He loves you. He really fucking does and he thought you knew that. You had to know! You are the only one who can make him feel soft⌠who can make him laugh and be gentle.
Katsuki gets up without a word to Mr. Aizawa or anyone and walks to the dorms.Â
He does not bother knocking and just storms in but the second he stands in front of you he regrets it. You are folding up his clothes, putting away the small gifts he has given you over the months. No.
"What the fuck?!" You simply shout.Â
"Can we talk," he presses out. "Please."
"When you storm in like this you don't even give me a choice!"
"Can we please just talk, (Y/N)!" He is pleading. "Fuck! I can't lose you! Please, (Y/N)," his voice is soft, raspy.
"You have to respect that I don't want to talk right now, Bakugouâ"
"Stop calling me that!"
"Stop being disrespectful to the boundaries I am setting!"
That is what Eijirou said. He only makes it worse, doesn't he? "I am sorry! Fuck!" He yells out and hides his face so you can't see the tears. "I am sorry," he whispers and leaves.

Weeks pass and it is ridiculous how the both of you deteriorate. You both lost weight, tried to hide the puffy eyes and deep shadows, you both became colder and quiet.
Everyone notices. There is no denying it. You are both so utterly heartbroken. Katsuki even talked to his mom, explaining the whole thing to her sobbing like a baby.
He wrote you a letter and when you didn't react to it, he didn't try again after that. It was all he could do. You aren't mean to him during school and act basically just like before since you kept it a secret anyway but Katsuki knows it isn't the same. He cannot hold you anymore, he can't touch you anymore and see you unfiltered and that hurts.
He doesn't give up hope though. Sometimes he catches you looking at him, smiling a little even. He won't give up hope. Not yet. He loves you and you love him⌠that wouldn't just go away?
But then he hears you giggle and laugh at something Shinsou says in the hallway one afternoon and his heart shatters.
ăăăă
He tries to ignore it, weeks and months pass. But it is like he sees you and him constantly. Sees you and that purple haired fool! He almost forgot himself when Shinsou reached out to get a bug out of your hair one day at lunch. No. He isn't allowed to be that close to you. Why aren't you trying to hide it? Shinsou walks into a room and your eyes can only see himâ no! Bakugou is just imagining it⌠is just reading into it. You'd never go for a guy like that. You still love him.
It all tips over when one day he walks to the dorm and sees you and Shinsou sitting on a blanket in the greenery, him leaning against a tree and you resting your head on his thigh.
Katsuki's hand is oozing and any wrong move would have blown up the whole place. He feels physically sick, can't even breathe as his chest collapses and his whole head melts. No. No. Just because he let his tongue get the better of him. It isn't fair. He did not mean a single letter of those awful words that day.Â
He waits for you and slips into the elevator before the door closes. Your face goes pale and yes! You should feel awful. You should apologize to him for making him so miserable.
"Hey," you simply say and lean against the mirror, thinking nothing much of it but then he presses the emergency stop.
"Why would youâ that guy?!" He can't keep his thoughts in line. He is seething. He wants you to stop torturing him.
"What?" You straighten up.
"Shinsou?! You know he can never be me! He could never love you better than me!"
Oh. You and Shinsou are just friends. You'd consider him your best friend actually⌠surprisingly. Aizawa asked you to train him in close combat because you've been a martial artist your entire life. But Katsuki is behaving like a little boy throwing a tantrum again and if the shoe fits and all. "I am glad he's not you. That's the whole point," you say, annoyed.
Your words shoot to kill and he spins around, caging you to the mirror. His eyes are even more crimson but underneath all his anger there is simply frustration⌠desperation.
"You fucking serious," he growls. "I never meant anything to you, did I?! You just needed an excuse!"
"You're acting like a fucking kid!"
"You're the one that couldn't even talk to me! I wrote you a letter! A fucking letter!"
You laugh in his face and he can't hold back, grabbing your cheeks harshly. He squeezes, your lips forming a pout as your eyes stay locked hard on his.
"You're so stupid!"
"Shut your mouth."
The words that loll off your tongue are a challenge, an invitation, "make me, Kats."
His lips are on yours not a heartbeat later. He'd convince you. He'd show you all the love he had to give you.
He moans into your mouth, not able to hold it in. He missed your lips so much, missed tasting you, almost forgot the sensation. The kiss has your lips swollen and tender, your mouths opening wide to take the other in, tongues gliding against one another until the kiss is just a mess of saliva. Your hands are in his hair, tugging harshly as he roames your body with his. The elevator moves again and you have no idea how you make it into your room. Your clothes are on the floor in the matter of seconds.
You push him onto the bed, pinning his wrist to the mattress as you leave hickey after hickey, bite mark after bite mark on his neck and shoulder until he is whining and trying to fight you. Katsuki buckes his hips up but you are hovering, depriving him of touching you as well as feeling your weight on him.
"I'm still mad," you husk into his ear.
Katsuki is malfunctioning by now. He wants you so badly. He needs you more than he needs air right now.
"Your letter was hardly an apology, you know."
He now flips your position, studying your face as he cages you underneath him. There is hurt in your eyes. "I am not good with words," he rasps against your lips, kissing you again but softly this time then traveling his lips down your body as his hands grab handfuls of your soft flesh. He missed you. Every last bit of you. He thought he was going insane.
"I am sorry," he says, kissing that spot on your tummy that makes your brain malfunction. "I am sorry," he says again and kisses your inner thigh, running his rough hands on your legs. "I'll make love to you until you believe me," he whispers. "Fuck all my love into your body."
You hold your breath for a second at his words then you nod, head falling back against the mattress as his tongue presses flat against your vulva, licking from your entrance to your clit. You are not sure if you moan louder or if he does. Your hands dig into his hair immediately.
"Katsuki," you breathe softly when he takes your clit in his mouth, then works on it just how he knows you like it. You moan, back lifting from the mattress. Your head is spinning like crazy, heart racing quicker. You wanted to tease him a little longer, but now all of that vaporizes. You need him. You miss him so much.
"Katsuki!" You whimper, tugging on his hair and bucking your hips to meet his tongue. "I'm sorry too!" You say in between lewd gasps.
He looks up at you and your eyes locked. Tears are forming on your lash line. Your cheeks are beaming in a deep red. Katsuki doesn't say anything, instead he works his tongue on your cunt harder. Your eyes roll back and he feels how your sweet juice gushes. He is getting drugged by your essence, entirely, he missed your taste so much.
Katsuki pulls back and his finger now slips into your throbbing cunt. "He could never eat you out like I do," he sighs, twirling his tongue across his lips to taste you more. He feels you shudder when he hits your special spot, calloused finger tip massaging the area vigorously. "Admit it."
You can't even breathe, mewling and trying to reach his shoulder. He understands and moves up from where he knelt, meeting your lips in a kiss then your soft eyes.
"We're notâŚ" you whisper, cradling his face. "I am still hung up on my ex, you know. Even if he is an asshole."
His face droops to your shoulder, a relieved sigh making his chest press into yours. You still love him. "I am not done apologizing, baby."
You shake your head. "Need you closer," you wrap your legs around his waist. "Kats, need you inside."
"Okay. Whatever you want," he smiles against your skin, pressing soft kisses down your shoulder. "I missed you too much to deny you anything."
He sinks into you with ease and you wrap your arms around his shoulders, breath hitching. "I missed you too," you whine. You need a moment to adjust to his cock after going so long without it.
"I am so sorry," he whispers against your cheek, moaning softly. He starts to move his hips, rutting forward slowly but deep. His cock drags inside your soft walls with passion while he heaves against your skin.Â
"S'sorry," he kisses your cheeks, kisses your lips next, humming softly when you tug on his hair. "I'm sorry."
He fucks you so painfully slow but it is just what you need to mend the wound. Every slow pull and push closes the distance between you.
You cup his cheeks and lift his head so you could look at him. A single tear drops from his eye onto your cheek, mixing with your own salty stream. "I believe you," you whisper. Your hands start to hold him shakily as the knot in your tummy grows.
"I love you," he rasps and picks up his pace a little. Your eyes stay focused on each other. "You hear me, I fucking love you," he groans, digging his fingers into the sheets.
"I love you too," you whimper softly. "Katsuki. Love youâ"
You pull him closer, your foreheads touch. You are both close but Katsuki slows down. He doesn't want to let go, wants to keep you as close as possible for longer. You nudge at his chest and he rolls over. Why would he deny you? You ride him with the same slow intensity, gasping in his mouth while cradling his face. Katsuki leaves not an inch of your skin untouched.Â
You end up on your desk hours later, eyes still locked as he holds your thighs and plows into you sloppily, leaving hickeys on your shoulder. Your skin has melted together by now, your breaths just whimpers and moans, eyes fighting to stay open.
"Can'tâ" you claw at his back, leaving even more red lines there. "Kats."
"I know," his hands move up to your face. "Let's cum together."
You nod eagerly, desperately. "I love you," you say, eyes crossing and unfocusing for a moment only to settle back on his with determination.
"I love you too," he whines, holding your face gently. "More than anything. I'll be better. I'll think before I talk. I make you happy."
"Me too," you nod.
You hold him and he holds you. Your body begins to tremble, violently, but you never look away from each other. Both your eyes filled to the brim with adoration and pure love.

Wake up.
Please wake up.
All Himiko Toga had ever wanted was a world in which she was accepted and loved, a world where she wasnât hated and feared.
For as long as she could remember her parents would say that she was born cursed, in-human, but really Himiko was born so full of love that it hurt. It ached deep within her bones, coursed through her veins, pulsed in her teeth.
When she saw something that she loved, she wanted to hold it, to feel it, to be it so badly. She wanted to sink her teeth into it, drink its beautiful blood and be one with it. Because thatâs what love meant to Himiko Toga.
But thatâs not what love meant to society. Thatâs not what was ânormalâ for them. So she was cast aside. Painted as a disgusting monster, a freak, a sub-human vampiric psychopath.
When she joined the League of Villains, she finally felt like she was somewhere she belonged, with people that accepted her. But one by one the people that she held most dear to her heart disappeared: murdered, slaughtered, taken from her.
So many losses change a person, a young girl at that. Big sis Magne was gone. Twice- Jin. Gone. Kurogiri, Compress, Spinner. She had no idea where they were, if they were alive or not.
Tomura wasnât the same, he wasnât the person who told her to live how she wanted to. Touya was burning up, his seemingly so strong life force that helped her keep going, fading into ashes as she watched from afar.
Her fight with Ochako had been so painful, physically and emotionally. But⌠In all of her life she had never felt so.. Loved. Ochako didnât say it directly, but as she screamed Himikos name into the cold air, telling her that she was envious of beautiful smile, as she held Himiko in her arms and whispered, words only meant for her to hear. As she promised to give her as much blood as she needed, as she called her the cutest girl in the whole world.
She felt it. Love, reciprocated.
Himiko wanted a society that accepted her. She fought so hard for that world, a world where her love wasnât returned with hatred. But somewhere along the way she began to hate back. Her intentions, once filled with love, became a desire to destroy.
But Ochako broke through that. Ochako touched that sadness, that pain and hatred inside of her heart, and when she did it was like it all floated away. She felt light. She felt loved.
But now, because of her, because she fought so hard to talk to Himiko, Ochako was dying. Himiko knew that if Ochako lived, she would have to put Himiko in jail for her crimes. Because thatâs who she was. But Himiko couldnât let that happen. Even so, right now, all she really wanted was for Ochako to live.
A world without Ochako was an unbearable thought.
But she could do something about it. The decision was so quick, she didnât mull it over for even a second before she began to drag her syringes over to Ochakos heaving body.
But. When she got there, Ochako was still. Himiko dropped to her knees, hands running over Ochakos soft, blood-covered face, down to the deep gash in her side.
No. Not like this.
A world without Ochako? No. That canât happen.
I wont let it.
With tears rolling down her cheeks, Himiko placed her hand over Ochakos bloodied chest, over her still heart. And she pressed down. Up, down.
Wake up.
Wake up, Ochako-chan.
Please.
I canât let you die.
I wonât.
Himiko didnât know all that much about CPR, never thinking sheâd need to revive anybody. But even with limited knowledge and shaky hands she pumped Ochakoâs heart for her, as if her body just knew what to do.
Maybe if iâd felt the love Ochako showed me sooner, I wouldâve longed to give my own blood to other instead of just taking theirs.
Maybe in another life, me and Ochako-chan met as kids.
Maybe in another life I couldâve worked to save lives instead of take and ruin them.
Maybe in another life I couldâve been a Hero and not a Villain.
A screamed ripped itself from her throat and she began to pound of Ochakos so still, too still chest. Her thoughts became spoken words, screams into the cold battlefield.
Wake up.
Please wake up.
A beat. And then another. A flutter of eyelashes, a whisper of breath. Himiko moved before she could think, drinking Ochakos blood from her hands, placing the syringe from her arm to the arm of her beloved.
As the pain of overusing her quirk shot through her, Himiko let her blood, a copy of Ochakoâs own flow into the weak girl, warming her cold insides. She was barely conscious, but she was alive. Himiko sobbed in relief, even as she began to feel her own heartbeat weaken, her body becoming achy and cold.
Curling up next the girl she loved, her face buried in her neck, their shared blood connecting them, their bodies intertwined, Himiko smiled.
Here, right here with Ochako, Himiko felt completly normal. She was helping the one she loved. The one who had accepted her, held her and called her smile beautiful.
Himiko died happy and loved. Ochako lived because of her sacrifice.
All Himiko Toga wanted was a world in which she felt accepted and loved. In her short lifetime, she fought so hard for that, in the only way she knew how. When Ochako woke up without Himiko by her side, all consuming grief covered her, like a dark, smothering blanket. But that wasnât what Himiko sacrificed her life for.
Ochako would always carry that grief, that sorrow and pain with her. But with that hurt, combined with the pure and true love she had for that beautiful girl, she moved forwards, with the sole goal of making the world a better, easier place to live in for other people like her Himiko.

You were stirring tofu curry in your kitchen. Itâs delicious scent curling up your nostrils, tendrils seeking your body and your home. The television was playing in the back. Sliced spring onions freshly chopped on the wooden chopping board next to the stove. You were humming softly to yourself your favourite song.
Today was the day that your pookie bear, Izuku, was coming back from his month long mission. It had been a gruelling four weeks of rushed phone calls.
Quick âHowâs your day been? and even quicker âI love youâsâ. You missed his nerdy talk about all the latest heroes new moves and how much he still admires All Might, his cuddles and warm hands on your tummy when it was that time of the month.
You missed how he would always try to pick you up from work, clad in a face mask and Dynamightâs new merch. You missed making dinner together. You missed waking up together whenever you two slept together (cause separate beds in relationships is superior convince me otherwise).
He had been on an undercover mission to bring an underground quirk breeding organisation to justice. The fact that those still existed sent shivers down your spine. One time, you had asked him over call what it was like, being so close to all of that.
To which he dodged with, âItâs what heroes are expected to deal with, so donât worry about it honey.â You probably shouldnât have asked as all mission information is classified until the news gets their grimy hands on it. But, it still had taken you back that he didnât want to talk about it.
But, you know that when he gets home, heâll be tired but heâll want to talk. And youâll sit there, looking up to him, reminded of how strong he is and of how hard he works to protect you, to protect all of Japan. Speaking of which, he should be home by now.
Plucking you from your daze is the reporterâs voice shouting into her mic, âBreaking News!â You turn around, seeing her standing in front of Central Hospital on the small television screen.
âJapanâs Number One Pro Hero âDekuâ severely injured during quirk breeding rescue mission.â Your mind goes blank. You rush over to the TV, grabbing the remote, turning the volume up, and plonking down on the tan sofa.
You watch as footage comes on screen, showing Deku, outside of what looks to be an on-fire night club, surrounded by several villains in coordinated suits. Dynamightâs explosions can be heard in the back muffling the screams of girls chained and barely clothed who are being taken out of the building, covered in soot and coughing, by Shoto and Ingenium.
You watch intently as the villains lung at your hero. He dodges, expertly, using the intricacies of One For All to knock them unconscious. As gentlemanly as ever, even when he fights.
But itâs not enough. You continue watching, enraptured by the fight, as the reporter continues, âPro Hero âDekuâ, along with other heroes like Japanâs Number Two âDynamightâ, Number Three âShotoâ, and âIngenuimâ have been on an undercover mission investigating quirk breeding auctions in downtown Tokyoâs underground night clubs for the past month. Tonight, things went awry as Dynamight engages, fed up with the secrecy of the mission, dragging the pro heroes into an intense fight with the villains orchestrating this conspiracy.â
âOf course itâs fucking Dynamight,â you mumble under your breath.
Dekuâs now taking five villains at once when the left side of the building collapses due to the flames. It had been the entrance, where Shoto and Ingenium had been hauling out what you assume to be the victims of this scheme.
Shoto hands the young girl in his arms to one the firefighters at scene before turning around and yelling to Deku, âThereâs still one more left in the building.â
Your hands have begun to shake. The suspense is wracking your nervous system.
âDeku attempts to dash back into the building when the villains he was just fighting jump onto himââ
They drag him to the ground, delivering some serious blows to his torso. The left side of the building further crumbles in on itself.
âApproaching Deku is another villain known to authorities as âBon AppĂŠtitâ. Quirk is knife.â Bon AppĂŠtitâs arms are comprised of different knives and swords, jutting out, sharp and glinting evilly. You cringe and yelp as the villain thrusts the blades into Dekuâs left arm.
âReeling from this blow, Deku uses One For All at what sources suspect to be full capacity, to fend off the villains and rescue the victim inside. Emergingââ The video pauses on a shot of him, girl on his back, left arm bloodied and dangling limply. From what you can see from the awful lighting, shaky cameraman, and torn shreds of Dekuâs suit, his flesh is torn and skin (beneath the blood) has gone purple. No! âDekuâs left arm appears to be severely injured.â
The broadcast cuts back to the reporter outside of Central Hospital. There are a flurry of reporters and police surrounding the entrance to the hospital. She stands with her back to them and continues, âPro Hero Deku was taken to Central Hospital to be treated shortly after 7pm. Our cameras caughtââ
A video of an ambulance pulling up to the entrance plays on screen. Once itâs stopped, Deku is ushered out, flanked by paramedics. Dynamight steps out after him, shouting a string of censored curses and insults after broccoli boy in frontâ
âfootage of Pro Hero âDekuâ being escorted by ambulance here with Dynamight and Shoto following suit. Love and support is being poured out by fans to Deku and his family tonight for his swift recovery. Hirota Miu, TBS Television.â
You sit there, hunched over, elbows on knees, shell-shocked. You donât know how much time passes after the broadcast before you hear your phone ringing. You grab it from the low coffee table in front of you, clicking the green phone icon and bringing it to your ear reflexively.
âMiss [l/n], this is Dr Kita from Central Hospital. Deku gave us your details as his emergency contact.â You blink⌠and blink again. What? âDekuâs been seriously injured in his recent fight. Heâs being prepared for emergency surgery on his left arm right now. Youâre welcome to come in and visit once heâs out. The procedure should take 60 to 90 minutes. Just come to the front desk and give your information to the receptionists, and theyâll direct you.â
You stare out the window, looking at all the lights sparkling from above and below your apartment. How could everything seem so peaceful right now when your partner, your hero, was going in for emergency surgery?
âYes Iâll, um, Iâll be right there. UmâŚâ
âIs there anything else, Miss [l/n]?â You stayed quiet for a few seconds, trying to think of what to say.
âNo, sorry. Iâll be right there.â
âSee you soon then, Miss [l/n].â
You move routinely, going to your bedroom to put on a bra before lacing up some sneakers, throwing on one of Izukuâs hoodies over your t-shirt and mini shorts, and grabbing your bag. You leave your apartment hastily and practically run to the station, taking it to the one closest to Central Hospital.
There are no words to describe how you feel. Your heart is pounding hard in your chest, and not from the exercise. Your skin is crawling with anxiety. Your shirt clings to the sweat dripping down your back, and every so often you wipe your sweat-laced palms on your shorts.
Your thoughts consist of âIs he okay?â, âWhy is he going into emergency surgery?â, âThat idiot, I told him never to use One For All at 100% because it could lead to some serious damage! He knows that. Why would he risk it?! The blow from that villain was bad enough, why did he have toâŚ?â, and the like. One thought triggers the next, an endless cycle until Central Hospital is towering above your small figure.
You keep it calm and steady as you walk into the lobby. The receptionist greets you and tell her your name and why youâre here. She nods knowingly, not bothering to confirm details and telling you to take the elevator to level 3.
You follow her directions, down the hall and to the left. Youâre met with dull blue double doors. The sign above reading âRecovery Roomâ. You push it open, involuntarily inviting numerous stares from doctors, nurses, and recovering patients who are conscious.
A tall, lanky man comes over to you, dressed in slacks and white lab coat. He has a clip board in hand. âIâm Dr Kita. You must be Miss [l/n]. We spoke on the phone.â You nod, trying to gulp down your nerves.
âMr Midoriyaâs surgery will be finished in about,â Dr Kita looks down at his silver watch, âan hour. Youâre free to walk around, get some snacks or something. Visiting hours end at 8pm, but Iâll make an exception for you.â He smiles gently at you. You nod and thank him before looking away from him, thinking about how you were going to kill time.
You felt sick to your stomach, knowing that your boyfriend was undergoing surgery at the moment. What else could you possibly think about but that?
âActually, Dr Kita, Iâd like to just wait here.â You look back up at him. He has jet black hair tied neatly into a low bun. His rectangle glasses slip ever-so-slightly down his nose, behind which sleek brown eyes stare at you with a look of understanding.
âYou canât wait in the recovery room but you can wait outside. Weâll call you in once Mr Midoriyaâs is out of surgery.â
Your response is a whisper, âOh⌠okay.â You look down to your feet, shoulders slumping. Quickly, you pick yourself back up, raising your head back up and asking, âSo, Iâll just wait in the corridor?â
Dr Kita nods and says, âThatâs fine.â
You turn to leave before realising that you hadnât even been told what surgery Izuku was undergoing. You turn back around, noticing that Dr Kita hadnât moved an inch. âWhatâs his surgery for?â
Long, slender fingers push the glasses back up his hooked nose. He sighs, âUnfortunately, Mr Midoriyaâs left arm has suffered trauma beyond repair. The decision was made to amputate part of his arm.â Your mouth falls open. Amputate. His. Left. Arm?
âAnd who made that decision?â Dr Kita shifts under your piercing gaze. You make a mental note to apologise later for staring daggers into him.
âThe trauma surgeon did. Heâs in there right now performing the procedure on Mr Midoriya. I understand that this may come as a shock, but he explained to me that it was necessary and urgent to amputate Mr Midoriyaâs left arm as the tissues in his forearm and hand were damaged severely. Mr Midoriya was losing too much blood and some bones in the forearm had been shattered. There is too much damage and danger to simply reset the bones and stitch him up. The surgeonâs doing what he can to salvage whatâs left of Mr Midoriyaâs arm.â
Are you actually hearing this right now? Is this real? Are you actually in the hospital right now, hearing a doctor tell you that Izu-chanâs arm is to be amputated? Did you turn off the curry before leaving? Fuck.
âDo you mean that the whole arm wonât be amputated?â You ask.
âItâs possible that the whole left arm wonât be amputated. The main damage was done at the forearm and elbow.â Dr Kitaâs tone was fairly dead-pan. But youâre not thinking about how many patients he must of seen in similar or worse situations, or the worst situations. All youâre thinking about is your boyfriend who might be losing most of his arm right now.
You gulp and say, âI see⌠Thank you for clarifying. Iâll, um, Iâll go wait outside now.â Dr Kita nods in acknowledgement before you spin on your heel and take your leave.
For the next hour, you pace back and forth, up and down the hallways of level 3. You check your phone every five minutes, making sure that you have enough time for another lap of the level. After one painstaking, anxiety-inducing, palm-sweaty hour, youâre standing outside of the recovery room, waiting to be called in.
Youâve been thinking it over⌠just how will it be, Izuku without his left arm. Heâll be devastated. He confided in you soon after you two first started dating that one of his biggest fears was pushing his body beyond itsâ limits. He wanted to protect people, to be an incredible hero, and he would do anything to achieve that. He was afraid that one day, he would go too far and he wouldnât be able to come back from that. And then, he wouldnât be able to protect people anymore. How would he react, knowing that part of that fear had become reality? What would this mean for his hero career? For your relationship?
Even as this new reality dawned on you, not once did you even consider leaving him. How could you? He was the man that you were so deeply in love with. You two were discussing marriage just before he left for that mission. Oh, why did he have to go on that mission?!
He means so much to you. Heâs been there for you at some of your hardest times, like when you first moved to Japan to pursue a career at the front of biomedical engineering. Or when the public had found out about you two and had bullied you relentlessly for your quirk due to itâs similarities to All For Oneâs. It was all the tabloids could talk about for the entire week, before Izuku had released a statement under his agency, clarifying the differences between your quirks and re-affirming his love and trust in you.
He had been the reason that your life in Japan had become so much more inclusive, joyful, and prosperous. Hell, he had even taught you Japanese at the beginning of your relationship, and continues to help you whenever thereâs an expression or word that you donât understand.
That All Might otaku has been there for you through everything. If that had been you. If you had lost your arm. He wouldnât even consider the possibility of breaking up with you. How could you?
âMiss [l/n].â Youâre brought out of your thoughts, seeing one of the nurses peaking out from behind the recovery room doors. Itâs the moment youâve been waiting for. âHeâs out.â
You rush over to her, entering when she pushes the door open for you and thanking her. And then, you spot ruffled deep green curls crowding a peaceful looking face. Heâs still asleep. You let out a breath.
You follow the nurse over to the side of his bed, where you notice some other doctors in slacks. Dr Kita comes over almost immediately after you do. Youâre by Izukuâs side, watching him. Speechless. About half of his left upper arm remains, wrapped beneath bandages with a stocking and drainage tubes attached. You can feel the tears starting come on. You tilt your head back, blinking rapidly. Not now! Not yet.
You look back down. The medical staff are talking in medical gibberish, so you focus on your pookie. Itâs not that you canât understand medical jargon. Being a biomedical engineer, you often work with such terminology. Youâd just rather not right now. Not when Izu looks like an angel thatâs fallen from the heavens as he sleeps. Heâs got little cuts on his face that have been cleaned and had betadine dabbed onto them. His other arm has a cannula in it. It too is scarred and has other minor cuts that have also been cleaned up.
You sit on the side of his bed, waiting patiently for him to wake up. After a few minutes, his eyelids begin to flutter and soon, he opens his beautiful green eyes. You draw in a breath, taking in the dazed look on his face as he looks around and starts to move his head from side to side.
âMr Midoriya,â Dr Kita says. His voice is calm and steady. It stops you from leaning over to cup Izuâs cheeks. For now anyways.
âMr Midoriya, can you hear me?â Izuku groans in response, he begins lifting his right hand to touch his face when the nurse beside him gently grabs it mid-air and brings it back down the bed.
âTry to not to move too much, Mr Midoriya," Dr Kita says.
âUgh,â he groans, his voice hoarse. âWhat happened?â Dr Kita holds up two of his fingers in front of Izukuâs face.
âMr Midoriya, how many fingers am I holding up?â
Izu grumbles, âTwo.â
âGood. How are you feeling? Are you experiencing any dizziness or nausea?â Izuku shuts his eyes, his brows creased. He hums in response, "Both."
You canât stop yourself from calling his name this time. âIzu-chan.â His eyes open immediately and he looks down at you from the slightly raised bedhead. He squints, murmuring with uncertainty at first, â[Y/n]?â
You bite the side of your lip, shifting closer to him, âYea.â
âYouâre here, babe.â His voice is still raspy.
You hum in agreement, âOf course, Iâm here. You okay?â
He chuckles softly, âMhmm Iââ
Fuck. He goes to move his left hand, presumably up to his face again. He usually rubs the back of neck when gets nervous. But no hand moves. Because thereâs no hand to move. You watch, lump in your throat, as he winces, letting out a groan of pain. Your eyes move with his, to the empty space that was the rest of his left arm. He looks back up at you, before turning his gaze to the doctors and nurses watching him cautiously.
âI-I donât⌠I donât understand. Am I?â He tries to move his left hand again but lets out another groan. âI-No, this canât. Iââ
âMr Midoriya,â Dr Kita cuts him off. âYes, we had to amputate most of your left arm. You had experienced trauma beyond repair to your left forearm and elbow from a combination of severe wounds and the use of One For All at what we suspect to be full capacity. The surgeon decided that this was for the best.â
Itâs like you can hear his heart shattering into a million pieces. It shatters alongside your own. The look of pain, of sheer, tortuous, anguish across his face hearing those words, you canât hold back your tears any longer.
You sniffle quietly as they roll down your cheeks. âSorry,â you murmur, voice heavy with sadness. You mentally berate yourself for crying, drawing the attention to yourself when itâs not your moment. But, you canât help it. All you want to do is give your boyfriend cuddles and tell him everything is going to be okay. That youâre going to make it through this together. But all you can do is sit there and start quietly sobbing.
âHoney.â You look up through your tears and fingers trying to wipe them away. He looks like heâs about to start crying too.
Izuku shifts his gaze from you to the doctors. âCan you give us a moment?â
âMr Midoriya, we need to some cheââ
âIâm happy to do whatever checks you want. Please, just give us some space first?â
The doctors look amongst each other, communicating in an unspoken code before taking their leave. You let out a shaky breath, looking at your boyfriend lying beside you.
âHey," he says, his voice cracking. You both laugh. You lean forward, cupping his cheeks in your hands. His right hand grasps your lower back softly.
âIâm sorry,â you sniffle.
âFor what? Itâs not your fault.â He looks at you with a gentle gaze, just as gentle as his touch.
âI know but Iââ you choke on your sobs.
âHey, itâs alright.â His hand pressures you to move forward so you can lay on his chest. But you donât. You look up into those glassy green eyes.
âI canât," you say, your voice tight. One of your hand goes to his chest. âYouâre in pain," you continue, shaking your head.
His brows knit together at this, âI-It doesnât hurt there.â You pause before you nod knowingly.
You too canât help but want to be close to him like this. You lay your head on his chest with care, hands close to yourself. His right hand strokes the top of your head, scarred fingers threading through your silky [h/c] locks.
You tilt your head back, looking up at him. âYou donât have to pretend itâs okay. I-I know itâs not okay.â You plant a shaky small kiss on his jaw. His hand cups your shoulder.
âYea,â his voice trembles. âIâŚâ You can feel his chest vibrate with the emotions rising to the surface. You hear him sniffle, and soon, you two just lay there, crying together. One of the nurses brings over a tissue box which you two drain, wiping tears away and blowing noses. No words can articulate the kind of moment you two share.
Itâs only when you two have calmed down that you lift yourself up from his chest. You cup his cheek in your right palm and murmur, âYou hungry? Dâyou want some water?â He shakes his head, sniffling up those last tears. You dab his under eyes with the ruined tissue in your other hand.
âI was m-makingââ You stop to inhale and exhale a deep breath before continuing, âtofu curry when they called me.â âYour favouriteâ you leave unspoken.
âCan you b-bring me some?â He pouts. You nod your head âyesâ, chuckling softly as you look down, âI will but, I donât think theyâll let me back in if I leave now. Visiting hours are over.â Izuku nods, gulping down those straggler tears.
âI think I might have left it on, so Iâll bring some tomorrow, okay?â He nods again, bringing his right hand to your cheek, thumb gently caressing the delicate skin below your eyes.
âMr Midoriya, Miss [l/n]. Do you mind if we continue with the general check-up?â You both look at each other before looking back at Dr Kita.
âOf course,â you reply as you move away from Izuku and stand up next to his bed. âDo I have to go now or?â
Dr Kita looks up from his clipboard, âWeâve given you special clearance for tonight. In future, youâll have to abide by visiting hours.â Heâs moved from the foot of the bed to the left side, a distance away from you.
âVisiting hours are from 10am to 8pm. I would advise leaving soon if youâre catching the train back to your apartment. Iâm sure you know that itâs not very safe walking around alone at night.â You hum in response.
You look back at Izuku who shakes his head in agreement. He sniffles, âI-Iâll see you tomorrow, then?â You nod, moving closer and leaning over him, placing a small kiss on his lips. Your first in a month. Itâs brief but sweet. Just enough to keep you going until tomorrow.
âStay strong for me, okay?â You say. Izuku smiles back at you.
You pull back and turn towards Dr Kita, âThank you for all of your help, doctor. Iâll be back here tomorrow. Should I just ask at reception?â
He hums in response and says, "See you tomorrow, Miss [l/n].â You walk past Dr Kita, turning around once your approaching the doors, locking eyes with your Izu before leaving the recovery room.
The trip home is filled with replays of all that had just happened. When you got back, you found that luckily, you had in fact turned the curry off. You turn it back on, following the recipe in your mind to finish it off. Dinner, packing leftovers, dishes, all go by mindlessly. Youâre still stuck in a daze by the time you sit in your plush chair in the corner of your room, pulling at your journal. Itâs time to talk about it.

rut suppressants pt.2
alpha!todoroki shoto x omega!fem!readerâ・°⊠â angst, fluff, talk of kids, in the shower, 2.1k
pt.1
The next week is a haze. Youâre constantly out of breath, panting and mewing and moaning and squealing and screaming and all the rest of it. Your body belongs to your mate and heâs playing with it, moving it, folding it however he likes. And you couldnât ask for anything more.
You two become one in a mix of sweat and fluids gushing and dripping onto any surface (un)fortunate enough to be touched by your passion. Bed, dresser, floor, island bench, couch, shower walls, balcony doors. Heâs got you covered in his fingertips, stained black and blue. Hickeys paint the expanse of your neck, chest, and thighs. Not even your arms or hips are safe from his assault. And you love it.
Of course, you had to call in sick from work for next week. The reason you rasped out quickly over the phone to your boss while Shoto was drawing you back beneath the covers, was that youâre mate was âawfully unwellâ and you had to âtake care of him.â And taking care of him, you sure were. If the presentation went well? Who knows, who cares. It hasnât crossed your mind since he had taken your phone from your hand and threw it across the room, onto the floor.
It was now day eight. The late morning sunlight was filtering into your mess of a bedroom. You were clammy with sweat and other fluids. Your body was pressed against Shotoâs side, arms wrapped around his torso. His warm arm is draped lazily around your shoulders, while his cold hand is resting atop yours just below his pecs.
You had woken up first, using the first few minutes to take in the sight that was your alpha. His mouth hung slightly open, soft snores coming from his rising and falling chest. His white and red locks were tangled and matted to his pale forehead. You waited patiently, watching to see if those long lashes would flutter, and if his eyes would open⌠but, they didnât.
Chuckling quietly to yourself, you slowly remove yourself from his grasp, which is no easy feat, seeing as you were quite small compared to him. It took about ten minutes for you to finally drag his arm off you; it had tightened when you started to move, leading you to freeze up and wait it out, until his arm relaxed. You wobbled on your feet.
This is the first time youâve stood on your own and tried to walk in days. You limp over to the bathroom, the ache in your inner thighs, your hips, your back, arms, everywhere, making it hard to walk properly. Once in the bathroom, your hands grasp the sink-top. Looking into the mirror, you see your own reflection staring back at you. Dark under-eyes; knotty [h/c] locks, some clinging to your ears and cheeks, others to your temples; the artwork his mouth had left behind all over your chest and shoulders. This man⌠You sighed.
Taking it slow, you make your way into the shower and turn on the hot water, than the cold. You wait for it to reach that perfect temperature before getting under and moaning with delight. The warmth washes away the stickiness on your skin and eases your sore muscles. It soaks into every part of your body, and all you can do is just stand there, palms against the little blue square tiles, eyes closed, and enjoy the sensation.
Soon enough, youâve shampooed your hair and now let the condition sit in it, long hair in a makeshift bun. Youâre rinsing off the suds from your skin when a pair of arms wrap around your waist. One hot, the other icy.
âShoto!â You exclaim. You were surprised that he had woken up so soon, and even a bit saddened that you wouldnât have more time to yourself before getting railed again.
âHey,â your mate mumbles sleepily into your shoulder.
You lean back into him and turn around, placing your hands on his muscular shoulders. He hasnât shifted. Heâs just resting his forehead against your neck. He always does this whenever youâre cuddling. Heâs thinking of what to say next, so you stay quiet and give him as much time as he needs to think. Seeing his usual quietness return, you let out a breath you didnât realise you had been holding in and smile. Your fingers run themselves through his locks mindlessly, dampening them.
Youâre curling your fingers in the hair at his nape when he speaks, âIâm sorry.â Your brows furrow and lips pout. You pull back from him slightly, lifting his face up so that you can see that look in his eyes. Guilt. But why?
âWhy are you apologising? You didnât do anything wrong,â you say more quietly than you had intended to, the words coming out barely above a whisper. The running water almost blocks them out.
âFor all of this,â he says. He removes his cold arm from your lower back, long fingers pointing to all of the hickeys and bite-marks covering your dĂŠcolletage.
You giggle, âDonât be.â You run your fingers behind his ears. âI donât mind.â
He shakes his head, dismissing what youâve said. âNo, you should mind. I canât do this to you again, [y/n].â He averts his gaze, turning his head to the side. You guide his focus back towards you, much preferring those angelic, heterochromatic eyes on you than on the shower wall.
âShoto, babe, I donât understand what youâre saying," you say, forehead creased.
âYou should be angry with me for how Iâve treated you this past week. Iâve been so rough with you. I havenât been taking good enough care of you. Iââ
You pressed your finger to his lips, shutting him up. âBut Iâm not angry with you. Well, a little over lying to me about your ruts.â You cock your head to the side, taking in that extra guilty look heâs got now.
Giggling, you continue, âBut honestly, this past week has been one of my favourite weeks ever! Even more than the week we were staying at that beach villa. Do you remember that?â You grin wide, slowly removing your finger from his lips.
He nods in response, âButââ
âThere is no âbutâ. I liked it and I hope you did to.â He brought you back into him, his forehead going back to itâs resting place on the side of your neck. His lips brush your mating mark.
He sighs, âI didnât want you to see me like that.â
âWhy not?â You canât help but sound hurt. Heâs your mate, your alpha, your husband⌠your best friend. Why wouldnât he want you to know all of him the way he knows all of you so intimately?
ââCause,â he mutters, âitâs shameful.â
âGetting batshit crazy to protect and screw your mate? I donât think so. It happens to all alphas.â You laugh a little before continuing, âI hate to break it to you, but your not that special, pretty boy.â Looks like your massive ego has returned.
He chuckles all raspy into your neck, his warm breath fanning your skin, incomparable to the steam gathering around your bodies. ââNot that specialâ?â He pulls back and steps away from you, taking his cold and his heat. His eyes stare at you in disbelief, face painfully far from yours.
âNope,â you smirk. You look up into his eyes, right brow slightly raised, daring him to take it further.
But, he doesnât fall for it. Or at least, not yet. âYouâre saying that Iâm ânot that specialâ?â You nod in agreement. âHmm, youâre right. Iâm not that special. But that doesnât mean I want to hurt you every time I rut.â
Fuck, he still feels guilty. You look away, already wishing that you could skip the rest of the conversation and get to the part where youâre making out again. âBabe, look, I told you, I like it when youâre rough with me, okay? I like it when your slow. I like it when your romantic. I like it whenever you touch me, so please donât feel so guilty about it.â
He still doesnât look convinced.
âHonestly. I meanâŚâ You trail off, thinking of a way to get it through to him that being aggressive and horny asf is a normal alpha thing and not a self-discipline problem. âOkay okay, do you think that Iâm some horny, pathetic slut when Iâm in my heat?â
âOf course I donât,â he frowns disapprovingly.
âItâs the same thing!â You say, your hands flying up to his chest as you take a step closer. âI get super clingy, you get super protective, and we both wanna bang each other. Thereâs no shame in that.â
Youâre on your tip-toes, leaning up towards him. He looks so hot when heâs mad, you canât help but want to kiss him. He sighs and obliges, leaning down to capture your lips in a sweet kiss, hands back on your body, exploring conquered territory. You two stay like that for a little. Shoto moving to place small kisses on your nose, cheeks, eye lids, and forehead, before coming back to your lips. Much to your disappointment, he finally pulls back, cupping your cheeks and gazing deeply into your eyes.
âYou never told me where you put my suppressants.â You groan, rolling your eyes involuntarily. Not this shit again. Donât tell me he wants to start taking that crâ
âIâm not going to take them, thereâs no use now. But please, tell me where you put them.â He wraps his fingers around your chin, bringing your focus back to him.
You shake your head ânoâ. He sighs in response, resting his forehead against yours and closing his eyes. You follow suit.
âPlease.â Youâre such a sucker for when he pleads.
Huffing, you give up the secret location, âTheyâre in the dresser, top drawer, beneath my underwear.â
No response. Itâs quiet between you two for three seconds too long. Shoto questions, âBut why?â
âWhyâre they beneath my underwear?â
âNo. Why did you take them?â
You bite the side of your lip, pondering if you should tell him why you really took them or not. You donât have to think for long though, the flesh slipping out from your teeth. âI took them because Iâve never seen you rut before. And, um well, yea I just got a bit concerned, you know?â Your alpha removes his forehead from yours.
Tilting his head to the side, he asks âConcerned about what?â
âWell, um, you knowââ It falls quiet between you two for another minute or two. The water hitting the shower tiles is the only sound permeating the tension.
âNo, I donât know.â
âShoto,â you huff. âYouâre gonna make me say it, arenât you?â You pout. He continues looking at you adorably, confused.
You sigh, âFine. I was worried that maybe you were on rut suppressants because you didnât wanna have kids with me.â You got real quiet at the end there, averting your gaze to look down at your feet. Did Shoto always have such big feet? They look pretty massive compared to your own right nâ
âYou thought that I didnât want to have kids with you?â He slid his hands to your waist, the similar sensation calming you. You looked back up at him, seeing that he had leaned back down now, your noses almost brushing.
You nodded, âYea. You know, I-I thought that straight after we got married we would start trying but⌠we just, um, we just didnât.â
You were biting your lip again. A nervous habit. A nervous habit Shoto loves. He brings his thumb to your lower lip, pulling it out from the clutches of your teeth. He watches as the flesh perfectly rounds. Sighing, he presses his lips to yours. The kiss is tender, but deep. Tongues are swirling, hands seeking more and more of each otherâs bodies, little moans escaping here and there. He pulls away slowly, saliva connecting your lips before snapping with the distance.
âIâm sorry, babe. I didnât mean to make you doubt our future together. I just didnât want you to see me like that.â
âI know,â you nod as you caress his cheeks with the pads of your thumbs, gently brushing over the edges of his scar. Itâs quiet for a little as you two just take in this moment.
âWhy donât we start trying then? When our cycles sync up we canââ You squeal excitedly.
Grabbing onto his shoulders, you exclaim, âWhy donât we start trying now?!â Youâre grinning from ear-to-ear.
âO-oh okaââ You cut him off, smashing your lips back together...
Letâs just say that your attempt at creating new life today seemed very promising.
(The middle pic is the body type I imagine Izuku has, but like..teen boy..yk??)
So I just was thinking about something.
We all know that Izuku eats a lot more when he starts training with All Might, right??
Well, I was trying to sleep the other night and I came up with a scenario;
Masterlist
(Tw; body dysmorphia, insecurity, comments abt weight.)
đ¸đĽ
Izuku and yourself had made quick friends after you moved schools. Entering Aldrea wasnât the most pleasant experience, the people werenât the nicest and the classes werenât very..exciting. The whole building felt stale with its stagnant color scheme and taunting, long halls.
However, Izuku was a comfort of yours. He was your best friend, and the two of you lacked a lot of boundaries to begin with. So it wasnât a surprise to anyone when the two of you ended up getting together, holding hands in the hallways and giggling like love sick children.
However, soon, Izuku started training to get into UA, and you supported him with everything, while maintaining your own physical condition and strength.
Thankfully, the two of you still definitely had time together, I mean, you were attached at the hip, how could he not squeeze time into that busy schedule of his to see his best friend and partner??
As Izukuâs workout regimens grew harder and more intense, so did his bodyâs need for calories and nutrients. It was natural, he was, A. A growing boy going through early stages of puberty, and B. He was busting his ass with the training the number one pro was putting his body through.
He began to eat more, thanks to his sweet mother providing him with bigger portions, and you.
You carried around snacks like protein bars, granola, trail mix and other tasty treats for your sweet and shy boyfriend.
Izukuâs thin form began to fill out, and he wasnât as bone-y as he used to be, his hips filling out a little more, and his stomach building a little bit of pudge on the front.
His uniform was growing a bit snug against his form, wrapped around him noticeably tighter.
And how were you reacting to Izukuâs softer, yet stronger form?
God it got to you.
The way you stupidly smiled when the two of you would hang out in his room, cuddling after a long day at school, your hand gently rubbing his stomach.
Izuku had always liked your gentle touches to his stomach, the gentle kneading of his abdomen always instantly relaxing him and putting him in a trance-like state. Youâd always loved his body, it was the vessel that carried the sweetest boy youâd ever met, and now he was softer, warmer and easier to cuddle.
His sides slightly pushed out more, threatening the waistband of the pants or shorts he wore. Donât get me wrong, Izuku wasnât fat- no no no, he was still healthy and lean, he was just a little more filled out;
His cheeks were more round and boyish, his dimples now more obvious when his sweet smile spread on his lips, his back didnât show his spine anymore, and he had a bit of padding right under his shoulder blades, and his thighs were a little more soft and full than they had been.
While you loved the new softness and cuddliness of his body, Izuku was less than pleased.
He noticed the changes of his appearance after Bakugou had made a comment about not only becoming your boyfriend, but getting in a relationship with the fridge.
God that hurt.
From that point on, Izuku was hyper aware of how his clothes folded around his softer body, he knew he was strong and healthy, but he just didnât like how fat he felt.
The worst part?
He was terrified about your reaction.
You hadnât mentioned the weight gain, or even batted an eye at it, and Izuku just hoped that was because you didnât notice.
He went out of his way to make sure you didnât see his body. Izuku wasnât comfortable changing in front of you anymore, he would always (reluctantly) move your hand away, preventing you from giving him the heavenly stomach rubs you loved to give him.
You didnât really pick up on these changes, until he started wearing baggier clothes, no longer dressing in the clothes heâd worn for the entire duration of your knowing him.
You only picked up on this detail because, for his birthday, you bought him a fitted All Might tee, and he looked..nervous.
It wasnât like Izuku thought youâd openly comment and criticize his body, but after Katsuki and the other boys at school would tease him for his sudden (subtle) increase in size, he just didnât want to face the thought of you acknowledging something he was growing more and more insecure about.
Today, you were laying in Izukuâs bed, while he rummaged around in his room. Thatâs kinda how things went sometimes, Izuku would just do things and you would linger in his space, itâs how you bonded.
You looked up at him from your phone, raising a brow as you watched him look at himself in his whole body mirror that heâd recently purchased.
âIzuku, what are you doing?â You asked, angling your head to the side as you watched him prod and inspect every aspect of his form.
The tension rose in his shoulders, and Izuku felt his heart snap in his chest. Oh god. He wanted so badly to ask you, to find out what you thought- the not knowing your opinion on his insecurity was killing him.
âUhm..Iâm just..lookingâ he mumbled, his voice hesitant and obviously thoughtful.
You raised a brow at his words. That wasnât very helpful with answering your question.
âWell I can see that, you dork-â
âY/n..am I..fat?â
Oh.
Oh no.
Your eyes widened and you looked at him with surprise âIzuku- what are you saying? Of course youâre not fatâ you sat up, walking over to your boyfriend and gently cupping his cheeks.
Izuku guiltily looked away, his waterline swelling with tears. He let out a shaky breath and sighed, biting his lip âI-Iâm sorry- I just..Kacchan and some of the other guys at school have made comments, and I canât help but notice how much bigger I am..I have live handles now..â
Your heart shattered into a million pieces as everything slotted into place.
His weird behavior suddenly made sense.
He was feeling insecure.
âLook- I know Iâm not as popular or attractive as the other guys at school, and Iâm not eve super skinny like I was..Iâm just terrified of how youâll react..â he sniffled and wiped his eye with his wrist, trying to keep himself composed âI donât want to embarrass you because of my appearanceâ
Your lips pulled down into a frown and you gently caressed his round cheeks
âIzuku..youâre not disappointing me or embarrassing me or anything like that. Youâre my boyfriend. I love you. Youâre so damn cute no matter what size you are; thin, thick, it doesnât matter, youâre still my Izuku and nothing will change that- certainly not the judgment from someone like Bakugouâ
You smiled softly as Izukuâs swollen tears began to drip down his freckled cheeks, his bottom lip quivering âyouâre..not ashamed of me?â He asked, his voice shaky and unsteady âeven with..how I look? And how your friends tease you for dating me? An-â
Izuku was cut off, feeling a soft press of lips against his chapped ones.
He blushed brightly as you pulled back from him, smiling softly âlook Izuku; youâre my boyfriend, my partner, my world. I love you. I could never be ashamed of youâ you gently ran your thumb over his freckled skin, a gentle touch that made him blush a little harder âI love you and your body, okay? Anyone who gives you shit about it can suck my dickâ
Izuku smiled softly, his eyes stinging with tears before he tightly embraced you, feeling a little lighter thanks to your assured words and firm tone. âI love you, Y/nâŚwhat did I ever do to deserve you?â
You gently pressed your face to his neck, sighing softly and smiling a little âyou didnât have to do anything. Youâre amazing as is, Izuku.â
Despite the lingering uncertainty about his body, Izuku felt so warm and content, a renewed sense of safety building in his chest and making him finally feel at ease for the first time in a while.
He knew, despite everything and anything, you would be by his side. Always.
EEEK I hope you guys enjoy this. Iâm such a sucker for MS!Izu. I love him sm he makes me wanna punch a wall. I love him.

Maybe- "Y/n~" a voice shocks you before you could even use the knife. 'Toga' you thought, putting the knife away 'maybe not today' you quickly made your way to the door. "Yeah? Need something?" You raised an eyebrow at her. Brows furrowed at the way she had her hair down. She grins sheepishly and nodded her head. "You know how Kurogiri went out a couple days ago right?. He wants to meet ya" an awkward silence falls upon both of you. You nodded your head and followed Toga to meet Kurogiri.
"Hello dear. I guess you already know that I ask Toga to bring you here" he questioned which you nodded as an agreement. "Well regarding you um- hands" he stops abruptly and chuckles nervously as he can feel Dabi throwing daggers at him. "Would appreciate it if you stop looking at me like that" he mumbled before continuing "I bought a lil present for you" he brought out a box and put it in front of you. Silently asking you to open it. So you did with a little struggle of course, you only have one perfect hand anyway. Inside you see robotic hands if that even makes sense "I thought it would be great for you. Plus it is also built to handle a quirk so you can still use it with your immobilised hands". He went on nervously but stopped when he saw tears in yours eyes "Why my dear do you not like it? I'm sorry I thought you would like since you know-" he shut his mouth when you made your way towards him and hugged him as tightly as you can "Thank you Kuku you're the best" while wailing in happiness that someone actually thought about you other than Dabi and Toga of course.
Out of the corner of your eyes, you see Dabi's soft smiles but it seems like you're not the only one "Someone smiling" Toga yells teasingly "Shut up you psychopath" Dabi rolled his eyes while Toga giggled as a reply. "Awwwww someone getting soft" "I said shut the fuck up"
You can feel the warmth in your chest blooming. This is the feeling that you've been wanting to feel. The feeling of being cared for, appreciated and happy. The suicidal thought is now being pushed at the back of your mind. At the moment, you want to savour the feelings and memories forever. A laugh interrupted from you by watching those two bickering tears of happiness forming in your eyes.
Everyone went quiet for a hot second before they followed you. "There's the laugh I've been waiting for" Dabi mumbled. He's happy for you to finally find a light in your life even if it is the slightest bit of lighting. His eyes snap at the door near the meeting room, he can see the door opened the slightest bit and a bit of blue hair can be seen. He bit his words and let it died in his mouth, not wanting to ruin this mood. After all his favourite girl is finally out of her shell.
As you are retreating to your room, a voice calls out for you "You don't want to try it on?". You turned your back to see Dabi raising his eyebrows while drinking some wine "Didn't know you're a wine man" "There are a lot you don't know about me, princess" he chuckles. "Yeah Y/n try it! I bet it will look so cool! Or ugly. Sorry, my bad!" Twice yell. All of them look so eager to see you try it out. You take a deep breath "Does it need to be charged tho?" You ask Kurogiri. Silent takes over the room before once again the laugh interrupted. "Just imagine it ran out of battery while on the battlefield" spinner snickers. "Stop I can't" you laugh out loud. Even Kurogiri smiles widely at the accusations "Don't worry my dear. It uses batteries, pretty sure it could last almost a year" "That's good to know. I don't know what will happen if what spinner says happened" you giggled. "I'll be there to rescue you princess" Dabi says teasingly makes you roll your eyes "Sure Sure"
Slowly you connect the robotic hand with your left hand. Turn it on and double check to make sure it is on the right way. After a couple minutes, you try to light a fire and it "It works!" Toga exclaims excitedly. "Try to change the colour dear" Mr. Compress asked. You immediately change it to a blur colour almost like Dabi's fire. "I am impressed Kurogiri. I wonder where you got this from" You asked. He smiles in response while giving a sign that it is a secret. "Now we could go on a mission together! Not that I want to. Sorry!" Twice smiles. You nod while smiling brightly.
"Now who wants some food?"
______________________________________________
It is almost midnight when you sit on the rail on the rooftop. Breathing and taking in the beautiful scenery of Japan. You can't help but think about Dabi. The way he is always taking care of you. The way it treats you like you're the most fragile thing in the world. So soft and passionate. You smile while looking at the sky. Your body shivers by the cold breeze that hits your bare skin. The more you think about him. The more you feel like he's something to you. What are these feelings? Adoration? Love? Friends? Respect? You shook your head to clear up your mind.
You close your eyes, breathing in the fresh air. You barely notice the sounds of the door opening and the sound of heavy footsteps running towards you before all of the sudden you are being pulled back into a warm embrace. Snapping you out of your trance "What the fuck, Princess? Trying to get yourself killed?!" He yelled and you immediately recognised his voice,Dabi. "Woah there. A little warning next time perhaps-?" "Warning?! You are the one that needs to warn me!" "What? I did nothing!" "Yeah? Almost giving me a heart attack by sitting on the rail?" "You do it all the time, Dabi" you rolled your eyes, getting annoyed at this one fine hypocrite of a man. "That's a different story" "Same" "Different" "SAME" "Alright princess you win this time. Next time it's mine". You laughed happily at your win. He smiled obviously glad to see you all smiling again.
"You okay?" Dabi asked. You sighed "Just thinking about it" you replied, snuggling more into his warmth and he let you. "You shouldn't. Just forget about it. Continue with your life" "I couldn't help but think if I could have done it differently you know like" you stop abruptly noticing the side eyes he is giving you. "What?" "I'd rather have you all to myself princess " you blush at his response. Butterfly dancing in your stomach. "Dabi-" "Touya" you looked at him confused, a frown clearly on your face.
Straining your neck in the process. "It's, it's my name princess" he looked away face red. You frown gradually turning into a grin. "Touya?" You tested the name on your tongue. A shiver went through him at the sounds of his name. It's been such a long time since someone said it. "What's the occasion?" "Just making you as a special someone" You turned around so quick to look at him. "Dabi- Touya? What?" "So what's the answer princess?" Your heart beats for him and only for him. "Are you joking around?" There were tears in your eyes threatening to fall down. "No I'm not".
You smile at him, putting your face closer. When your lips meet and he's kissing you softly like he scares you're going to break. Both of you pull away for air "Does that answer it?" You giggle. "Hmmm I don't know. Maybe you need to try again" he smiled softly. His nose is touching yours as he watches you laugh. "That's not good. I need to show you more"

You lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling, deep in your mind. The usual thinking about your life decisions. This has become a routine for you every night. `Was it worth it anymore?' `Am I really useless?'. Lifting yourself up, you make your way to the bathroom. Your hands push the door weakly. You stand in front of the sink, sighing after catching a glimpse of your miserable face, you turn your head down to look at your feet 'I hate myself'. Quickly your right hand opens the cabinet under the sink, hand clumsily searching for something. Finally found it, you take a look at the knife. A knife that Toga gave to you as a present for your birthday. The perfect knife for killing people, most importantly killing yourself. You lost in your mind again, thinking if you really should do this, if you should just end it all. Often you see yourself as a burden, as someone who holds the LOV back. Maybe if you weren't there, they would be happy. After all, who would want someone as worthless and useless as you are. "Who would want someone like me?" You repeated. Yeah maybe he is right. Slowly you lift up your left arm, you stare at it sadly while also feeling the anger rising up. Tears threaten to fall. From the wrist up, your hand is completely gone. 'Yeah he's right" you smile sadly while holding back tears.
The members noticed the change of your behaviour. The girl that used to smile a lot, making jokes to cheer them up, playful but at the same time serious is now gone. All that is left is a girl that is desperately trying to survive. But again they decided to not say anything. They already have a hunch of what happened that may be causing it.
_____________
You just got back from your patrol. You know just the usual making sure there aren't any heroes out there that might already catch a smell of the base or else you all need to hide elsewhere. Feeling extremely tired you're hoping you would get some rest instead of comforting your boyfriend, Shigaraki, for the hundreds of times. Now don't get you wrong, you love him for all your life and would sacrifice yourself for him but recently things haven't been the best. You pushed the door to your shared bedroom, sighing to yourself miserably when you caught a pile of dust laying on the floor. Looks like the world will turn against you today too. `There goes another one'. It seems like another mission has gone wrong. You make your way to the corner of the room, having noticed your boyfriend scratching himself at the corner. You cringed at the blood on his body. "Babe? What happened?" You kneeled down in front of him. "Nothing, go away"
You sighed already knowing that this might take a while before you get the rest you needed. "Come on, Shiggy. I know something went wrong. Di-Did a mission failed again?", you tested your luck but when red eyes instantly snap towards your direction, you know you fucked up. "What do you mean by again?" he spats the words while glaring at you. "Do you really think I'm that worthless like you? I'm better than you, you stupid bitch!", You flinch. Trying not to make it worse, you try to explain yourself "No! I mean-" "LISTEN HERE YOU PIECE OF SHIT. YOU'RE ONLY HERE BECAUSE I WANT YOU TOO. I COULD JUST KILL YOU INSTANTLY WITH HOW USELESS YOU'RE TO ME NOW. HOW USELESS YOU'RE BACK THEN"
"Someone who couldn't even save their own family when they are right there" He knows he is being irrational when you only want to help him but he couldn't help but push on one of your nerves.
Now the word keeps on ringing in your head. You smile to yourself remembering the accident 10 years ago when you can't even save your own family from the fire that happened because your brother couldn't contain himself when he discovered his quirk. The only reason you can't save them is because you have the same quirk. You can't fight fire with fire. It's only going to make it worsen, so you just watch as everything goes downhill. Watching with your own eyes, your own family burned alive or so that's what you told them. But little do they know, you didn't even want to save them, not at all.
"Fine. Do whatever suits you. I'm tired", You ended the fight right there and then. "Where the fuck do you think you're going?" He spat out, standing up. Immediately you back away, giving him space. "It's not like I can help you since you won't tell me anything at all" you turn around. "You? Help me? Some weaklings can't possibly think they can help someone as good as a god like me." He smirk. You smile despite the ache in your heart.
"You don't even have a good quirk"
Now that's got your attention. "Excuse me?" You turned your body toward him, feeling deeply offended and hurt. Your quirk isn't "weak" or special. But it's pretty strong. It's a fire quirk that is almost the same as Dabi but the difference is you can change the colour to any colours you want, so it's easier for you to blame the fire to anyone else since you don't have a permanent colour while Dabi's fire is a beautiful and fascinating blue. It always gets you off guard every time he uses it. Even you can't copy the colour perfectly.
"What the fuck did you just say?" You glared at him, extremely pissed off. "I said your quirk isn't that great" he smugly said. "I mean take a look at your own quirk Shigaraki. It's not that special either. Not to forget what it did to your own family" You slam a hand on your mouth. You went too far and you didn't mean to. Shigaraki eyes went wide open and he's fuming with anger. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to go that far!" "FUCK YOU" You hear footsteps outside the room. The others must have heard you guys fighting for a while now. "Fuck babe. I'm sorry I didn't mean to!" "DON'T FUCKING CALL ME THAT"
When both of his hands started to reach out for you, you immediately backed off. "SHIGARAKI PLEASE!" You pulled your hands away from him and tried to turn around when you heard the door open. When you feel pain shooting down your left arm and you're screaming bloody murder. The pains are shooting all over your body causing you to scream in agony. You feel someone pulled you away and brought you to the bar outside. They quickly cut your left hand's wrist to avoid it spreading. "Take a deep breath. It'll be okay" You hear Toga said after calming down. You cringe at the pain you feel in your left arm. "Here take this" Dabi placed pain killers in front of you. Without hesitating you just gulp down the pain killers, just wanting the pain to go away. "You okay?" Dabi asked. "Okay? OKAY?! WHAT THE FUCK DABI?! I JUST LOST MY FUCKING LEFT HAND! I'M NOT FUCKING OKAY" You cried but when you feel Dabi hugged you. You feel guilty for screaming at him when all his done is just helping you. "'m sorry. Scared" he nodded. "It's okay. It'll be okay. I'm here for you. We're here for you" he calmed you down. After a while, your crying slows down to hiccup.
"Y/N........." Dabi feels you tense up when you hear Shigaraki's voice. "Baby? Please I'm sorry" you don't reply to him. You heard his footsteps coming closer, making you hug Dabi even tighter. You feel Dabi lifting you up "Oi Oi Oi Back off" Dabi back away with you in his arm, clenching his teeth. He can't help but feel the hatred growing in his chest after seeing Shigaraki use his quirk on you causing you to lose your arm. "Dabi. 'm scared" you whimpered. "Shhh Shhh. It's okay. I won't let him come near you" he promised, bouncing you up and down still trying to calm you down. Even he himself feels irritated with Shigaraki.
Toga's hiding you and Dabi from Shigaraki sight. The others are ready to prevent you from hurting more than you already are. They all have a soft spot for you but won't admit it. "P-please" he begged them, eyes burning with tears that were leaking. But to his disappointment, none of them moved from their spot and he knew he couldn't even begin to convince them to let him see you. For him to possibly apologize even if you won't accept it, the least he could do is try. A couple minutes pass that feels like hours, you finally whimper from holding the pain due to the room getting so quiet that you could hear a pin drop. Eyes snaps to you, Dabi clears his throat sending a glare in Shigaraki's way "I'll end you if I have to" and immediately retreats to his room. For a second you thought that he's bringing you back to your own room so you clutch your hands on his jacket and quietly whispers "'m don't wanna go back Dabs". "I know I know. I'll never bring you back in there even if you want to" he shushed you. He opens his door and closes in on his back making his way towards his bed. "Sorry my room might not be as nice as yours. There's only one bed so I hope you won't mind my body as a company" he chuckled making you smile a lil. A proud feeling is booming in his chest seeing that he makes you smile. "There's the sweet smile I have been missing"
____________
And ever since you've been sleeping in Dabi's room. Shigaraki tried talking to you a ~couple~ hundreds of times but you never glance his way to even notice him. Slowly but surely he has given up his hopes and instead tries to send you notes at least once a day to let you know that he's sorry. But it got burned by Dabi before it can reach you. And that makes you feel a lot more better at the thought of someone protecting you from danger.
Your eyes burned with tears at the memory, shaking your heads hoping that it'll go away. You sighed miserably while still looking at the knife. Should you?
_______
Maybe a part 2 if you guys want? This is my first post so please ignore the mistakes (tell me). I'm not really a writer and English is not my first language. Hope you enjoy it. There are two possible endings maybe shorts one but we'll see.
"Sing to me"
A/n: This is just for fun so don't come at me; don't any of y'all take any of my post either!â¤ď¸
CW: This is in the context of my Mha Oc "Crimson/Iris Hayashi"; short angst story
Enjoy(ËśË áľ ËËś)
The night was heavy, thick with the scent of rain and blood. The sirens in the distance werenât close enoughâwerenât fast enough.
Crimson sat on the cold pavement, knees scraped, uniform torn, but none of that mattered. Not when HawksâKeigoâwas in her arms, bleeding too much, breathing too shallowly.
His wings were wrecked, feathers matted with red, and his golden eyes, usually sharp and full of mischief, were unfocused. There was no cocky grin, no teasing remark. Just pain.
Iris swallowed hard, pressing a hand against the wound in his side. âKeigo, stay with me.â
He exhaled, slow and shaky, his fingers weakly grasping at her wrist. âIâm here,â he murmured, but his voice was barely above a whisper.
She could feel him slipping, his warmth fading.
No. No, no, no.
Her vision blurred.
He blinked up at her, searching for somethingâreassurance, comfort, her.
Then, in the quietest voice, almost embarrassed, he asked, ââŚSing to me?â
Irisâs breath caught in her throat.
She had only ever sung for him in moments of peaceâsoft hums while lying in bed, quiet melodies when he couldnât sleep. But thisâthisâwas different.
Her voice shook as she whispered, âYouâre gonna be okay, baby.â
Keigo huffed something like a laugh. âYeah⌠I know but...?â His grasp on her wrist wearingly tightened. "I need to hear that gorgeous voice of yours, dove."
A lump formed in her throat, but she nodded. She cradled him closer, her fingers brushing through his messy, blood-damp hair, and with a deep, trembling breath, she started to sing.
Her voice was raw but beautiful, carrying a warmth even the cold rain couldnât steal away.
The song was something soft, something slowâone he had heard from her before, late at night when everything was still.
Keigo sighed against her, his body relaxing slightly, his grip on her wrist looseningâbut not letting go.
âPrettyâŚâ he mumbled, eyes slipping closed. âKnew Iâd be in love with you the first time I heard you singâŚâ
Tears burned her eyes.
âYouâre just saying that,â she whispered through a shaky breath, pressing her forehead against his. A tear slipping from her swollen eyes and on to his cheek.
He smiled weakly. âHell no, you got the prettiest voice.â His eyes squinted slightly open, "matches your face..."
She let out a snort, voice cracking as she kept singing, even as the sirens grew closer, even as the rain kept falling.
She would keep singing.
Because as long as she didâhe was still here.

you know he's not yours, but you'd still pick him in every lifetime. the worst part? he'd let you. (2785 words)
you never meant to fall into it.
and maybe that's the problem.
because things that fall tend to break, and you? you've never been particularly good at knowing when to catch yourself.
it starts with nothing. not even a spark, not a clear moment. no dramatic beginning. no pivotal shift in atmosphere. he just... shows up one night. stands in the doorway of your apartment with wind in his hair and fatigue under his eyes and a grin that looks like it's trying to apologize for both.
you don't remember who invited him. maybe he just appeared. you wouldn't put it past him.
you only remember letting him in.
he takes up space easily. like he's always belonged there. like the couch remembers his weight. like your walls never had a choice in loving the sound of his voice.
he doesn't say much. he never really has to.
he leans against the kitchen counter while you make tea, not even asking what kind, just accepting the mug with his usual crooked smile and a quiet, "you're a saint."
he doesn't drink it.
he just holds it between his hands, steam rising between his fingers like an offering he doesn't quite believe he deserves.
you sit in silence for a while. the kind of silence that feels earned. he doesn't fill it with nonsense. he lets it exist between you, thick and soft and settled like dust on a bookshelf no one has the heart to clean.
"you don't sleep much, huh?" he says eventually, with the kind of voice that makes the night lean in to listen.
you shrug. "not when the world's this loud."
he nods like he understands. like he feels it too. maybe he does.
he spends the nightânot in your bed, never in your bedâbut on the couch. boots off, one arm lazily thrown over his eyes like the darkness is too much. there's tension in his shoulders even when he sleeps.
you watch him from the doorway longer than you should. tell yourself it's because he's in your home. that you're being cautious.
it's not that.
it's never that.
âËâš á°
he returns three nights later.
you don't ask why.
he starts showing up regularly. not every night, but often enough that you start leaving the door unlocked out of habit. he never uses a key. he always knocks, even when it's past midnight, even when you're both pretending he hasn't been there three times this week.
he doesn't talk about work. never talks about heroes or headlines or what happens after he walks out of your door and lets the world chew him up again.
you don't ask.
you offer him a space. warmth. the silence he pretends not to need.
he offers... something else. something half-shaped. a hand on your back when you pass each other in the kitchen. a smirk when you call him out on it. snacks left on the counter. a blanket draped over your shoulders when you fall asleep on the couch, though he'll swear it wasn't him.
and one night, when you're both sitting cross-legged on the kitchen floor with half a bottle of something nameless between you, he leans in and kisses you.
it's not hungry. not sharp. not even all that deep.
it's lazy. gentle. like he forgot himself and remembered you in the same breath.
when he pulls back, he just grins. "nice lips," he murmurs. "don't let anyone tell you different."
and then he's gone.
you press your fingers to your mouth and pretend it didn't mean anything. pretend it was just a drunk impulse. a thing he does. a fluke.
you tell yourself it won't happen again.
it does.
not the kissâbut the weight of it. the imprint.
the moments start to blur together. late night dinners. half-slept mornings. you learn the exact sound his jacket makes when it hits your couch. the rhythm of his breath when he falls asleep sitting up. the way his voice drops when he's tired, softening like he's forgotten he's not supposed to be real around you.
you learn how to love him without touching him.
he makes it easy.
âËâš á°
you don't talk about what this is.
not once.
not when he brings you takeout and eats with you in silence. not when he falls asleep with his head on your shoulder. not when he disappears for four days and comes back without a word and looks at you like he never left.
you tell yourself it doesn't matter.
because he's not cruel.
he never leads you onânot really. never calls you his. never asks you to stay. never says he loves you.
he just makes it feel like he does.
and maybe that's worse.
maybe if he'd been colder, you would've walked away by now. maybe if he'd kissed you like he didn't mean it, you wouldn't still taste him in your coffee. maybe if he didn't smile like you were the only person in the roomâmaybe then you'd be able to sleep at night without checking your phone for his name.
but he does. and you can't.
you try to pretend it's fine.
you're adults. capable of detachment. you know how this goes. some people just need somewhere to land. someone who doesn't ask questions. someone who lets them rest.
you can be that.
and for a while, you convince yourself you're okay with it.
because sometimes he looks at you and you thinkâmaybe.
maybe this could be something.
maybe he just needs time.
maybe you're the only one who sees him like thisâtired and soft and human.
maybe that matters.
âËâš á°
one night, he cooks for you.
it's a disaster. the pasta overboils, the sauce burns, and he sets off your smoke alarm because he forgets how sensitive it is.
you sit on the floor with him, coughing and laughing, fanning smoke with a magazine while he yells at your ceiling.
when it finally clears, he sits beside you. knees touching. arms brushing. smelling like burnt garlic and relief.
he doesn't kiss you that night.
but he falls asleep in your lap, and you thread your fingers through his hair and pretend he's yours.
he's not.
but he lets you pretend.
âËâš á°
"you're good at this," he says once, curled up in your blanket, the ends of his hair brushing your collarbone.
"what?"
"letting me stay."
you don't answer.
he doesn't expect you to.
Ëâš á°
you kiss again, weeks later.
it's different.
it's not light or easy or careless. it's slow. warm. aching.
he holds your face like it's glass. kisses you like he's afraid to stop. touches you like he's saying something he doesn't have the words for.
and afterward, he rests his forehead against yours and murmurs, "you always feel like home."
and you wonder if maybe this is something.
maybe this is real.
but then he gets up. leaves without looking back. and you stay awake all night, staring at the ceiling, wondering what you did wrong.
Ëâš á°
your friends start to notice.
"you've been distracted," one of them says.
"i'm fine," you lie.
they don't press. but they look at you like they know.
you delete the messages you want to send him. never hit call. never ask where he is when he disappears for days, weeks, reappears with new bruises and an easy smile and nothing in his eyes.
you pretend not to care.
but your hands shake when you wash his mug.
Ëâš á°
he shows up again.
you open the door. he looks tired.
you don't ask why.
he leans against the frame like he belongs there. like he knows you'll let him in.
and you do.
he doesn't kiss you this time. doesn't speak.
he just lays beside you on the couch. not touching. not sleeping. just breathing.
you turn your head.
he doesn't look at you.
you wonder if he's already left.
Ëâš á°
you don't remember the last time he said your name.
you don't remember the last time you said no.
Ëâš á°
there's no end. not yet.
there's just the quiet stretch of something wearing thin. the slow suffocation of wanting too much from someone who never offered you anything in the first place.
you tell yourself it's fine.
you knew what this was.
he never said it would be more.
but you wishâgod, you wishâhe hadn't made it feel so much like love.
because now, you don't know how to unfeel it.
you don't know how to stop opening the door when he knocks. how to stop hearing your name in the silence between his sentences. how to stop hoping.
and worst of all?
you don't want to.
not yet.
maybe not ever.
Ëâš á°
you don't talk about it.
the situation. the dynamic. the... thing between you.
there's no language for it. not really.
it's not a relationship. not a friendship. not even a fling.
but it's something. it has weight. it has presence. it takes up room in your life and your chest and your plans and your future in the way real things are supposed to. only it doesn't behave like something real. it behaves like a ghost with too much nerve. a shadow that leaves fingerprints on your heart but disappears when the light comes on.
you try to explain it to a friend once. someone who notices the way you pause when your phone buzzes. the way your smile flickers when it doesn't.
"is it serious?" they ask.
you open your mouth, but nothing comes out.
because how do you explain it? how do you articulate the emotional toll of being almost loved?
so you shrug. "it's nothing."
you lie.
but you shouldn't have to.
Ëâš á°
hawksâno, keigo, because he insists you call him that when you're alone, like that somehow makes him more honestâisn't cruel.
that's what you keep coming back to.
he never promises you anything. never strings you along with declarations or dates or matching mugs in the cupboard. he doesn't label this. doesn't even try.
but he lets you sit close. lets you hold his wrist when he's pacing and won't tell you what's wrong. lets you run your fingers through his hair when he comes back with blood under his nails.
he lets you treat him like someone you love.
and in return?
he lets you pretend he loves you back.
Ëâš á°
you try to find clarity in the small things.
like in the way he leans toward you in crowds. the way his eyes soften when he hands you a drink. the way he listens when you talk about things that don't matter.
but the truth is, affection doesn't equal intention.
and you're tired of translating his silence into possibility.
Ëâš á°
he disappears for two weeks.
no warning. no explanation. just gone.
the first few days you check your phone constantly. reread old messages. try to remember if you said something wrong. if you asked for too much. if he finally got bored of the emotional middle ground you let him live in.
the silence grows louder.
by the time the seventh day passes, it becomes a roar in your head.
you don't call. you don't text.
you tell yourself it's a boundary.
it's not. it's fear.
because if you reach out first, you won't like the answer.
Ëâš á°
he shows up on a tuesday.
doesn't knock. just opens your door like nothing's happened. like it hasn't been days since he last looked at you. like he didn't vanish into the wind and leave you to rot in your own expectations.
he drops his bag by the couch. throws himself down and stretches like a cat, muscles flexing under his shirt, wings shifting slightly.
"miss me?" he says with a grin.
your heart cracks. so quietly, so precisely, you barely feel it.
you sit beside him. don't say anything.
he throws an arm around your shoulder like this is normal. like you're normal.
"sorry," he says casually. "work stuff."
you nod.
he doesn't elaborate.
you don't ask.
and the silence between you stops being safe. it becomes suffocating.
Ëâš á°
you start pulling away in increments.
you don't make him tea anymore when he shows up. you don't wait for him to call. you stop folding his jacket when he leaves it draped over your chair. you stop making room in your drawer for the little things he forgets behind.
and he notices. of course he does.
he notices the tension in your jaw when he touches you. the fact that you turn your face away when he leans in like he might kiss you. the way you no longer meet his eyes when you say goodnight.
he doesn't say anything.
but one night, when you're both watching some movie neither of you are paying attention to, he speaks into the dark.
"you okay?"
you hesitate.
then: "i'm tired."
he hums. "long day?"
you don't answer, and he doesn't ask again.
Ëâš á°
your friends start asking questions. real ones.
"is this working for you?" "what do you want out of this?" "are you happy?"
you laugh them off.
but the ache in your chest lingers.
because no. you're not happy. not really.
you're in love with someone who only shows up when it's convenient. who never shares the parts of himself that matter. who touches you with familiar hands but guards his heart like it's state property.
and you? you've built a home out of his shadows. you've memorized a version of him that doesn't even belong to you.
you don't want to do this anymore.
Ëâš á°
but you still do.
because it's better than nothing.
because the alternative is letting him go.
and that feels like losing something you never got to keep in the first place.
Ëâš á°
then one night, it changes.
not loudly. not dramatically.
just... changes.
you're sitting on the floor again, legs stretched in front of you, a blanket around your shoulders and the tv on low. keigo's beside you, but not touching. for once, there's real distance.
you glance at him.
he's staring at the screen, eyes unfocused.
you don't recognize his expression.
you whisper, "why do you keep coming here?"
he blinks. looks at you. "what do you mean?"
you shrug. "i mean... you never talk. you disappear. you show up without warning. and i let you. every time. i don't ask for anything, and you know that."
he stays quiet.
"so why do you keep coming back?"
the silence stretches. you think maybe he won't answer.
then he says, soft: "because you're the only place i don't have to lie."
your stomach twists.
because that should mean something. it almost does.
but then you realizeâ
he's not saying he wants you. he's saying he likes what you give him.
peace. comfort. quiet.
you're not a person to him. you're a haven.
and he never had any intention of staying.
you breathe in, slowly, and nod.
"okay."
he looks at you, confused. "okay?"
you stand. your knees ache. your chest does too.
"you can go now."
he rises slowly, uncertainty flickering across his face for the first time. "what?"
you repeat it. "you can go."
he studies you. then smiles, like it's a joke. "don't be dramatic."
you stare at him. "i'm not."
something in his expression falters. "look," he says. "i didn't mean toâ"
"i know," you say. "that's the problem."
he goes quiet again.
you continue, softer now. "you didn't mean to kiss me. or stay. or sleep here. or come back. or look at me like that. or make me feel like you wanted something real. and you think that's enough. that because you never said you cared, you didn't have to."
his mouth opens, then closes.
you're tired. so, so tired.
"you never had to lie to hurt me, keigo," you whisper. "you just had to let me believe you wanted me here."
he doesn't argue. he doesn't reach for you. he just stands there.
quiet.
just like always.
you don't ask him again to leave.
he just does. eventually.
without slamming the door. without saying goodbye.
and maybe that's what breaks you.
because there's nothing dramatic to hold on to. no final fight. no angry words. no declarations.
just absence.
and that hurts more than anything else.
Ëâš á°
you sit in the quiet after he's gone. your blanket falls off your shoulders and you don't pick it up. you sit there until the sun starts to rise.
and when your phone buzzes hours later, you don't check it.
because you already knowâ
it's not him.
it never really was.
Hihi!! U said ud like to start doing more writings rather than smaus, so I thought Iâd leave u a writing request this time! Okay so picture this, itâs post-war with bakugou x mia!reader who was presumed dead but apparently was just stranded in the middle of nowhere (this part is kind of a plothole but if u could figure out something that would be sososo amazing!!) and after like 6 months finally reunite post-war?? Ofc take ur time and stay healthy author !! Love ur work !!<3333
bakugo thought you were gone. for six months, he lived with that weight. but fate had other plansâand now, you're standing right in front of him.
bakugo had never been good at dealing with grief.
anger? sure. fear? he could mask it. pain? he lived with that shit daily. but grief? real, soul-crushing loss that settled deep in his bones and refused to leave? that was different.
and it was eating him alive.
you had been gone for six months.
the war ended, but not without casualties. the city was rebuilding, heroes stretched thin trying to repair the damage. civilians were starting to feel safe again. life was moving on.
but bakugo couldn't.
because you weren't there.
no body. no trace. no closure.
just... gone.
they'd looked for you. he'd looked for youârefused to stop even after the others tried to tell him it was no use. rescue teams had combed through the rubble, searching collapsed buildings and debris for any sign of you. but all they ever found were reminders of how brutal the battle had been.
a boot. blood on the pavement.
but never you.
bakugo had stood there, watching as they cleared the wreckage, hands clenched into fists so tight his nails left crescent moons in his palms. he didn't speak. didn't move.
he didn't cry.
because if he didâif he let that crack form even for a secondâhe wouldn't survive it.
he stopped saying your name after the first month.
it hurt too much.
everyone could see it. he wasn't the same.
bakugo still trained with the same intensity, still went through the motions of being a hero-in-training, but the fire was gone. his explosions felt duller. his anger, less controlled.
the dorms were quieter without you. your laugh used to echo through the hallways, bright and infectious. you'd tease him relentlessly, calling him out on his bullshit with that signature grin he pretended to hate.
now? silence.
even his friends had stopped trying to get him to talk about it. they didn't ask how he was doing anymoreâprobably because they knew the answer.
shitty.
he was doing shitty.
bakugo didn't sleep much anymore.
every time he closed his eyes, he saw you.
not the way he wanted to remember youâsmiling, happy, calling him an idiot when he tried to act cool.
no.
he saw you in that moment.
the war. the smoke. the chaos.
"get out of here!" you'd screamed, shoving him back, your eyes wide with desperation. "go, bakugo!"
he didn't listen. he never would.
but thenâthe explosion.
a flash of light. a deafening roar.
and you were gone.
bakugo woke up most nights with his heart pounding, breath ragged as he reached for somethingâsomeoneâwho wasn't there.
his bed was cold. the dorm was quiet.
and you were still gone.
he should've been there. should've done something. should've protected you.
bakugo had played that moment over in his head a thousand times, wondering where it went wrong. how he let you slip away. how heâof all peopleâhad failed to save the one person he couldn't live without.
six months. that's how long it had been.
life didn't wait for grief to pass. UA moved forward. class 1-a graduated and stayed on as provisional heroes to assist with the rebuilding efforts. the dorms weren't as chaotic anymore. they were quiet. colder. bakugo still trained like his life depended on it. he threw himself into work with relentless determination, trying to drown out the ache that never went away. his body was exhausted, but it was nothing compared to the emptiness that gnawed at him from the inside.
kirishima watched him with worried eyes. mina tried to get him to open up, but he brushed her off. kaminariâeven kaminariâstopped cracking jokes about "grumpy bakugo" because this... this wasn't just grumpiness. this was grief. and no one knew how to fix it.
bakugo didn't say it out loud, but he had given up. he stopped checking the reports. stopped listening when the search teams gave their updates. stopped hoping. because hoping hurt too much.
it was a random afternoon when everything changed. the sun was setting, casting long shadows over the UA campus. bakugo was heading back to the dorms after another grueling training session, his body sore and his mind numb. he was used to this feeling by nowâthe hollow ache in his chest that never fully went away.
but thenâ
"bakugo." the voice was soft. almost too soft. his brain didn't register it at first. it couldn't.
"katsuki."
that voice. his heart stopped.
slowly, like he was afraid moving too fast would break the fragile illusion, he turned around. and there you were. standing a few feet away, looking tired, worn, and a little worse for wear. but alive.
alive.
bakugo didn't move. didn't breathe.
"hey," you said, voice barely above a whisper, like you weren't sure he'd even want to see you.
bakugo's knees nearly gave out.
"holy shit," he breathed, his voice cracking as his feet finally moved. he stumbled forward like a man possessed, eyes locked on you as if he was afraid you'd disappear again if he blinked.
you didn't move. didn't speak. and thenâyou were in his arms.
bakugo crushed you against his chest, arms wrapped around you so tightly it was like he was trying to make sure this was realâthat you were real.
"you're..." his voice broke, and he buried his face in the crook of your neck, inhaling your scent like it would anchor him to reality. "you're real."
"i'm real," you murmured, your voice trembling as you clung to him just as desperately. "i'm here, katsuki."
bakugo's body shook. "where the fuck were you?" his voice was hoarse, barely above a whisper. "do you know how long iâ"
"i know," you whispered, pulling back just enough to cup his face in your hands. "i know. i'm so sorry, katsuki."
his eyes were glassy, filled with too many emotions to name. anger. relief. pain. love.
"i thought..." his voice trailed off, and his grip on you tightened. "i thought i lost you."
"you didn't," you smiled, pressing your forehead against his. "i'm here now. i'm not going anywhere."
"swear it." his voice was barely audible, but the desperation in it was palpable.
"i swear."
bakugo's lips crashed against yours. it wasn't gentle. it was raw, desperateâa collision of lips and teeth and everything he'd been holding back for six long months. he kissed you like he was trying to make up for every second you'd been gone, like he was terrified this was still a dream. but you kissed him back just as fiercely.
and for the first time in six months, bakugo katsuki could breathe again.
you didn't talk about it right away. the first night, you stayed curled up in his bed, wrapped in his arms like he was afraid to let go. bakugo didn't sleepâjust held you, his fingers tracing idle patterns on your skin, grounding himself in the steady rise and fall of your breathing. he didn't ask where you'd been. didn't ask how you survived. because right now? none of that mattered.
you were here. that was all that mattered.
days passed before you could bring yourself to tell him. about how the explosion had thrown you so far, so fast, that no one thought to look beyond the city. how you'd been buried under debris, barely clinging to life, until a group of villagers in a remote area found you and nursed you back to health.
how you'd spent every waking moment after that trying to get back to him.
"i tried, katsuki," you whispered, your voice barely audible as you sat on his bed, hands trembling in his. "i tried to come back."
"i know."
bakugo's thumb brushed over your knuckles, his touch gentle despite the storm in his eyes.
"i didn't mean to leave you."
"i know."
his jaw clenched, and he lifted your hand to his lips, pressing a soft kiss to your skin. "you're not leaving again."
"i'm not."
"swear it."
"i swear."
bakugo kissed you again, slower this time, softerâlike he was memorizing every inch of you all over again. and for the first time in six months, he wasn't holding onto a ghost.
you stayed by his side after that. bakugo didn't sleep alone anymore. every night, he fell asleep with his arms around you, grounding himself in the steady rhythm of your heartbeat. and every morning, when he woke up and saw you thereâhe let himself believe that maybe, just maybe, everything would be okay again.
it wasn't easy. some days were harder than others. but you were there.
and bakugo?
he wasn't letting go this time.
not now. not ever.
Fellow Tumblonians, should I cook up a BKDK fanfic, more specifically a ghost!Izuku x Katsuki
I don't know...im feeling a bit angsty
MHA SEASON 7 SPOILERS
You couldnât find her.
You had just gotten back from grocery shopping, and walked into a house that felt much colder than usual. It was cold enough it gave you chills as you set the grocery bags down, not seeing your girlfriend in her usual spot on the couch had your nerves on end. After the war, the two of you had agreed that neither went anywhere without letting the other know, mainly to ease your nerves seeing as you very nearly lost your beloved rabbit girlfriend. Not that she could easily go anywhere with the new prosthetic limbs still causing her pain after a while.Â
âRumi?â You called through the silent apartment getting no response that only sent your nerves into overdrive as you now began frantically checking each room of the apartment.
Until you got to the locked bedroom. Knowing she was in there, your nerves still ran rampant as the closer you got to the door the clearer the distress she was in became.Â
âRumi? Baby, open the doorâ you knocked gently as Socks started at you from the other end of the hallway. The crying only got louder the longer you stood out there and it broke your heart that she wouldnât let you in. You knew she could handle herself but you wanted to be there, to hold her while she cried. Sliding down the other side of the door you sat in the hallway, never once leaving the door as she cried her heart out, a constant stream of comforting words pouring from you knowing she could easily hear you. You knew these new limbs were an adjustment, you knew that despite the front she often put up that this transition was taking a lot out of her in every way it possibly could and even now, months later, the phantom pains still drove her insane. The flashbacks kept her up at night, and the nightmares often caused her to wake you up in tears. You hated that she was in pain, you hated that this is what she had become but you never hated her. So when the tears finally subsided and she finally opened the door, eyes puffy and lips bitten raw, you held her. You held her like she was the most precious thing to grace the planet, regardless of her new state. Youâd love her in any state so long as she was alive, and even if she wasnât youâd love her anyways.
Katsuki never liked the rain.
In fact, it was his least favorite type of weather. That was, until you. Kissing you in the rain like one of those cheesy romance movies heâd always grumble about (but secretly got invested in), sharing umbrellas with you tucked under his arm, he even confessed to you on a rainy day. All these memories had changed how he felt about the rain to the point he even looked forward to rainy days just so he could cuddle up to you with a good book by the window. Rainy days with you slowly became something he loved. Something he cherished.
When he died, so did your love for rainy days.
Everyday felt like a rainy day without him. And knowing how he had grown up hating rain yet fate had decided he should die in it, it was safe to say youâd never love another rainy day the same way again. All it did was remind you of that awful day. The day you sat glued to the television as the war raged on in both your city and your heart watching as he, his friends, and the proâs fought long and hard only for him to be taken from you in the end. It felt like drowning in the very same rain he had kissed you in.Â
You never liked the rain.Â
He had been gone for almost three months. Doing who knows what, leaving you with nothing but a slowly dying promise that heâd return and it was slowly becoming clear that heâs likely never coming back. Heâd left you. It wasnât an uncommon occurrence in your life, that youâd find something that made you happy and eventually it would end or that person would leave.
Usually it was easy picking up the pieces, but this was entirely different; he hadnât left any pieces shattered on the ground for you to pick up like you were so used to. No, instead he simply vanished and took every piece of you with him. It left you feeling numb, spending every night crying in the bed the two of you once shared, his presence leaving a lasting imprint in your home and inevitably in your soul and a bottle of whiskey clutched to your side. It didnât make sense to you, things seemed so well and it left you wondering if something had happened to scare him away.
Your scarred partner was many things and it wasnât that hard to imagine him up and leaving without a thought but he had promised and amongst the many things he was, a liar wasn't one of them. So why wasnât he back? It was a question youâd often ask yourself late at night.Â
He never did come back but staring down at his body at least you finally knew why.
How would bakugou deku todoroki and denki react if their s/o was the ua mole and revealed they never loved them and was using the boys
Bakugou
He thought youâd be the one but here he was on his knees as you stood above him and his friends bruised and battered as the LOV raided the school killing anybody they could. âWas it all a lie Y/N?â he grunted as you pressed your foot harder into an injury from earlier in the battle. You laughed, staring him straight in his eyes as you did, easily mocking his feelings for you âOf course it was fake, didnât the way I let in my friends show that enough?â you asked in the same voice he used to adore. Youâd expect him to be pissed but really heâs devastated and flooded with regret to say the least.
Todoroki
He didnât understand at first, he thought maybe you were doing this against your will but you quickly knocked that notion out of him as you held him in place making him stand there as his closest friends where beaten down âYouâre a good guy Shoto, too bad you just didnât see it soonerâ you whispered from behind him cousin him to grit his teeth, he was pissed and internally kicking himself for letting this happen.
Deku
Probably the most guilty of them all. He was supposed to be All Might's successor yet he couldnât tell there had been a villain in their midst all along. Heâd been dating a villain. Heâd told you all about All Might and himself including things about his quirk that heâd never told anybody else. Secrets he was supposed to take to the grave with him had been revealed during the darkest of nights. Youâd study his notebooks and send every inch of information to Shigaraki and the others. He and his fellow classmates never stood a chance.
Denki
He knew he didnât understand a lot, and that heâd missed usually concerning signs during your relationship. He knew youâd keep secrets but he didnât think youâd do something like this. He never thought you would betray him and his friends like this. Like Shoto, he thought maybe, just maybe, you were doing this against your will and that you did still love him but like Todoroki he also got that idea beat out of him.He hates that he managed to act as your cover for so long but sometimes, when heâs all alone in the dark of night he still misses you.
Nobodyâs POV
It was dark, their body numb as they stared into nothingness. It was scary this strange, detached feeling, like they were dead and alive all at once.Â
âY/N?â A voice spoke before the semi-translucent body of Eraserhead walked towards them, as memories flew back to Y/N like stab to the heart.Â
âShouta? What is this? Where am I?â Y/n asked their voice trembling as Aizawa silently approached them amidst the darkness.
âY-you died, I was there I saw it happenâ Y/n muttered reaching towards him as their hand went right through.Â
âIt wasnât supposed to be like this, you were supposed to make it out aliveâ he admitted âWhatâs the point if I donât have you? You were all I had but you left meâ Y/n questioned, their voice cracking and hoarseÂ
âI waited and waited, but you were never going to come back. I knew that and I waited anywayâ They continued on the verge of breaking down as Aizawa sat down next to them, the dark on the verge of enveloping them both.Â
â I didnât want to leave you Y/n, believe me I never wanted this. But I didn't want to live in a world that didnât have youâ he ghosted a once warm hand along their ice cold back
âYou say this Sho but you submitted me to the same agony you didnât want to suffer, you were ready to die for me but never to live for meâ they laughed brokenly
âY/n, love, you have to understand, ever breath I took, every day I lived, was for you. I didnât want any of this to happen-â
âBut all I wanted was for you to stay, the world couldâve burned and it wouldnât have mattered to me, all I needed was for you to stayâ Y/n broke down, their body turning just as translucent as AizawaâsÂ
âI-IâŚ.I w-wasnât ready to say g-goodbyeâ they hiccuped out as Aizawa pulled Y/n into his lap,Â
âI knowâ he whispered kissing their forehead as both their bodies disappeared into the darkness together.
-In the hospital-
Doctors and nurses rushed into the room as the telltale sound of the heart monitor flatlining sounds among the yelling of people rushing around, attempting to resuscitate Y/nâs cold body.
A body that will never again house a soul as it turns into a cold, dead shell of the person that once occupied it.

âfuyumi invited me to dinner this weekend. she says everybody will be there. your mom, natsuo, and shoto. i think he might also be there, she didnât say but i could tell by the look on her face. i told her iâd think about it,â you sit on the uncomfortable plastic chair in the bland white room.
the only sounds are the beeping and the raspy shutters of the life support machine that is keeping touya alive.
âdo you think i should go?â you're silent as you wait for him to answer. fuyumi had told you that you would be the only one to visit him today, meaning heâd be able to answer you if he wanted.
âthatâs up to you.â his voice is raspier than youâve ever heard it before, you know itâs because heâs burned his vocal cords beyond repair.
âi donât think he likes me very much. he always glares at me,â you explain and watch the roll of his eyes as he lets out a scoff.
âiâm serious, he never liked me as a kid because iâm quirkless. iâm pretty sure itâs still the same. i know he only puts up with me because your mom forces him to since iâm friends with all of you four.â you assume the garbled sound that leaves him is a laugh and it makes you chuckle in turn.
âi miss those days,â he sighs and you smile nostalgically, as a kid youâd go to his house after school some days and nearly every weekend to play with him, fuyumi and natsuo.Â
you were their neighbor and the same age as fuyumi who you quickly became friends with, and grew incredibly close to touya. so close that you developed a crush on him at five years old, though youâd never admit to it.
âyeah,â you sigh while looking over to the machine encasing him, âme too.â
itâs been almost two weeks since you last went to visit touya, work has been keeping you busy lately and youâre finding it hard to make time for him.
you have tomorrow off and have made the plans to go see him, fuyumi already knows and is making sure nobody else will go see him so that you can have the whole day with him.
itâll be nice, you think, to see him and spend an entire day without having to worry about leaving if his family shows up.
you love them you do, but sometimes itâs nice to just be with touya.Â
âyou should tell him how you feel,â fuyumiâs voice sounds from your phone as you make your way into the facility where touya is.
âdoes everybody know?â you groan out, stepping to the check in desk and writing your name down.
âeverybody except him,â fuyumi laughs, âyouâve been in love with him since we were five itâs not hard to miss.â
you scoff, of course it isnât. itâs not like you hid it, but admitting it isnât as easy as it seems. you have no idea whether he feels the same, and the fear that he might not make it out of the facility is what keeps you from telling him.
âiâm just scared yumi, what if he doesnât feel the same?â you pause to take a breath as you enter the elevator.
âwhat if he does?â she responds,
âok well what if he doesnât get better? i donât want to get my heartbroken,â you explain through a heavy sigh.
âand what if this is the push he needs to get better?â sheâs always been the logical one.
âiâll think about it, but iâm here. iâll talk with you later,â you say your goodbyes as you approach his room.
you smile as his eyes flicker towards you when you enter the room.
âi know you canât have any but i brought soba to eat. figured it might cheer you up a bit since it is the day before your birthday.â he rolls his eyes and scoffs as you sit in the uncomfortable plastic chair.
âiâm sorry i havenât come to see you, works been keeping me busy.â you sigh and take a bite of the soba you brought.
he only grunts in return and you sit in silence for a while.
âwill you be here tomorrow?â his voice startles you out of your thoughts.
âi might come after your family, i donât want to be around your father.â you explain and he makes a humming sound.
the silence stretches another few minutes before he coughs violently, youâre by his side immediately to check if heâs alright.
âare you okay? i mean obviously you arenât but i fuck iâm bad at this.â you ramble on and he chuckles deeply, or at least he tries to.
âiâm as good as i can be.â his eyes meet yours and you feel your knees weaken. his eyes were always your favorite.
âdo you want me to go?â you ask, he gives a slight shake of his head.
âjust sit with me for a while.â he whispers and you do.Â
you spend the rest of your visit rambling to him about the last two weeks and he listens in silence, giving an answer here and there.
heâs asleep by the time your visit is over and you smile softly at his sleeping form.
you stand to leave, leaning over the machine to get a look at his face.
âgoodnight touya, i love you.â you whisper and gather your stuff to leave.
you miss the twitch of his eyelids as you walk out.
you see him the next day for his birthday, surrounded by his family. and although his father is there too, youâre able to manage being around him for touya.
itâll be another week before you can see him again, so you enjoy the time you have today.
the night of his birthday, you dream of another life.
in the dark of the night, when the people sleep and the city is quiet, on a rooftop under the clear sky, two figures sit and watch the stars.
âif you had the chance to go back and redo things, would you change anything or keep it all the same?â a whispered voice carries in the wind, a chill running through his veins.
thereâs a soft humming sound that filters in the air, an acknowledgment of the question and his head tilts as he processes your words. the stars blink at him in anticipation, silently awaiting his answer.
âi donât know.â
his voice is meager, afraid to speak any louder and scare you away again. but itâs clearer than youâve ever heard it before.
âdo you?â
such a simple question yet the answer is anything but.
he draws in a breath at your silence.
âi think i would change one thing.â
a pause, he turns to look at you.
âiâd fighter harder not to lose you.â
he smiles softly and gently tucks a strand of hair behind your ear. you continue to stare at the sky, afraid itâll all disappear if you move.
ây/n⌠you lose me no matter what you do.â
you sigh and his touch is gone just as quickly as you felt it.
glancing to where he sits, you choke back a sob, heâs already fading as the light from the sun starts to rise.
âi know.â you feel like you canât breathe as the words force their way past your lips.
he smiles. itâs broken.
âiâm sorry.â your heart breaks as he speaks, youâre starting to forget what he sounds like, itâs been so long.
âi love you.â you reach for him, hoping, no praying, that you can touch him, feel him one last time before he slips from your grasp again.
âi know.â he never says it back and you know itâs because your brain canât imagine what the words sound like on his lips, never having heard them before, even if you confessed while he was alive.
not even your dreams can bring you solace as you watch him fade completely, your body jolting upright in the sweat soaked sheets you lay.
the tears are steadily streaming down your face, you do nothing to stop them as the sun crests over the horizon and the light sneaks into your room.
âwhyâd you have to go?â
thereâs no answer. thereâs never been one, but youâve always known his motivations.
âi had another dream of you last night,â you sit cross legged on the grass, the wind blowing softly in response to your words. as if filling the silence in place of an answer.
âthis time we sat on the roof watching the stars, like we did when we were kids,â you sigh, the tombstone across from you reading touyaâs name.
âdabiâ is written in smaller letters beneath, your idea as you knew he wouldâve liked that over touya but his father insisted on using his given name.
it had taken fuyumi, natsuo, and shoto just to get him to agree, but you knew touya would be happy wherever he was.
âi told you i loved you in this one, before it ended the same as the others. with you fading away as the sun rose, and me jolting awake with tears streaming down my face.â itâs just you visiting him today, and somehow it feels better than visiting him in the facility.
he passed away after his birthday, a couple days before you had the chance to see him again. you got the call from shoto, fuyumi too distraught to be able to tell you.
hearing the words from shotoâs monotone voice made it hurt worse than you imagine hearing it from fuyumiâs voice wouldâve.
âi still canât believe youâre gone. itâs been a year now, it feels like just yesterday you were turning twenty-four,â your voice shakes as your arms wrap around yourself.
âi never thought thereâd be a time where i was older than you,â the tears donât come as quickly anymore but they still come.
âi miss you so much touya. whyâd you have to do it?â you plead as if the stone would provide an answer.
you sigh heavily and stand, dusting yourself off to leave.
âi love you,â the wind that blows is warm, a gentle caress around your body and you imagine it as his arms wrapping you in a hug. a silent i love you too, his final comfort to you.
your eyes blur as you leave, you donât visit him again after that.
was thinking about aot, mha, and jjk and all the angst in the shows and the characters whoâve died and came up with this angst drabble. i apologize in advance. (could also apply to characters from other shows.) (was thinking a bit about jason todd here and some mcu characters.)
cw; angst but not too bad, allusions to character death (thinking about writing a whole fic on this, might turn it into a story donât know what character iâd pick though.)
as usual please donât use, copy, or steal my works. thank you and enjoy đ

thereâs a soft humming sound that filters in the air, an acknowledgment of the question and a que to continue.
âif you had the chance to go back and do it again, would you? would you change anything?â
his head tilts as he processes your words. the stars blink at him in anticipation, silently awaiting his answer.

Bakugou Katsuki:Â
Wants to ignore youÂ
Definitely the type to fold his arms and turn away when you enter a room or scoff when you talk to another guy
But when you walk away the guy is being given a glare that could put him six feet under
Acts cold to you--not exactly like how he did before he was interested in you, like how he calls everyone âextras,â but more so like he just sneers at you for no reason and rolls his eyes everytime you speak
Lil pomeranian boi just misses you really badly
But he hates the idea that you have that much power over him that you could draw him back to your side in a matter of seconds. It frustrates him how much he wants you back
At one point heâs tired of having nightmares of you leaving night after night--especially now that he doesnât have you to comfort him after waking up in a cold sweat.Â
So heâll climb out of bed and stomp over to your door
And proceed to stare at it for about twenty minutes with his mind and heart running marathons
What does he say?
What does he do?
Would you be mad? Sad? Disappointed?
Or⌠would you even care that he was still in love with you?
It all becomes too much, and soon enough he just has to know
So he raises a fist to pound on your door loud enough to wake the entire floor
And the door opens before he even makes contact.Â
âKatsuki?â
âYN.â Surprisingly, Bakugou feels all too calm at this moment, like he knows exactly what to say.Â
âWhat are you doing here?â
A muscle in Bakugouâs chin twitches as he struggles to find the exact words. He wanted to make his point but he also didnât want you to slam the door in his face. âI⌠Look. You told me that we should both move on and that I should get over you.â
âKatsuki-â
âBut hereâs the thing, YN,â when he takes a step forward, you take a step back and he physically flinches at the movement, âI donât want to.â He shakes his head. âI donât want to get over us and move on to other people. I donât want to see you with other guys when I know I could make you happier. That I have made you happier.â
âKatsuki,â your face softens, âyou donât have to-â
âDonât tell me what I donât have to do, YN. Iâm not letting you go, understood? Try to move on all you want, Iâm not going to let you. Iâll scare off any man you even talk to if I have to-â
Two hands piled over his mouth shut him up instantly and you lean past Bakugou to glance both ways down the hall before yanking him inside your room.Â
As soon as the doorâs shut, you turn to him and shake your head with the smallest little smile.Â
âKatsuki, you dumbass. I was just going to leave my room to give you the same lecture.â
âHuh?â
âYou took the words right out of my mouth,â you cup his cheek, reveling in the foreign look of shock on the blondâs face, âso no need for anymore threats on guys I may or may not go out with⌠unless youâre really willing to go after yourself that badly.â
Relief floods through Bakugouâs body, warming him up with the thoughts that he didnât need to worry about truly losing you at all--as it turns out, you agreed you were his just as much as he did.Â
âSo⌠weâre back together?â
âYep, unlessâŚâ
Oh shit
âUnless what?â Bakugou froze under your touch and reached a hand up to secure your palm against his cheek. âWhat is it?â
It almost pissed him off that you were able to laugh so freely while he was in an obvious state of panic.Â
âWell, I was gonna suggest break-up sex but judging by just how badly you want to get back together, it seems like thatâs off the table.â
Oh. Oh you damned little thing.Â
Such a fucking tease.Â
âNah,â Bakugou shook his head and before you knew it, you were being forced down onto your bed, wrists locked tightly above you. âYouâve got the right idea. Break-up sex tonight, and tomorrow we can make up all day long.â
Kirishima Eijirou:Â
On the surface, Kirishima is the same old manly man everyone knows him to be
But his eyes no longer have that same glint
And that smile just always seems seconds away from faltering
His red hair seems less spiky than usual, and those bags under his eyes are just the biggest tell
Kirishima is broken.Â
Heâs not grinning and holding your hand as he walks into class anymore, escorting you to your seat with a perhaps almost overdone kiss. Instead, he almost slumps to his own seat, avoiding eye contact with as many people as possible.Â
But the instant you step into the classroom, you feel it.
You sit in the front row, giving him plenty of freedom to watch you for the entire day.
Kirishima thinks itâs natural, itâs harmless. Heâs just trying to get over an ex--everyone knows how hard that is.
But heâs just making things worse. He tortures himself by constantly standing to attention anytime you speak. Or anytime your name is mentioned. Or anytime someone who remotely looks like you walks by him.Â
No, heâs not doing great at this âmoving onâ thing, and he knows that.Â
But part of itâs because he just canât believe that youâre not struggling to do it either.Â
Kirishima knows none of those kisses and âI love yousâ were lies. He knows you meant every single hug and smile you ever gave him. Every time you said you cared about him, he could see in your eyes that you meant it wholeheartedly.
So maybe you could see how he wondered why loving you was suddenly so painful.Â
Because now you were broken up and all this love he had to give you had nowhere to go and nowhere to be. It was like the love he had for you was useless.Â
Kirishima hated those words, that thought. That being in love with you for all those months was useless, and that it just needed to be flushed away.Â
All those plans he had of being with you, becoming superheroes at one anotherâs side and raising a family together. Planning ahead so far to even name the bridesmaids and groomsmen of your wedding and the names of your children.Â
The future house and the rooms of that house, how many there would be and what kinds they were. You needed a library, one he was all too ready to build for you and he wanted a mancave you would surely supply with snacks.
All of that was useless.Â
But Kirishima didnât want to think so. So he came up with a plan.Â
And when you walked into class the next day, Kirishima sat in your assigned seat, and you knew you smelled mischief.Â
âEijirou⌠whatcha doinâ?â
When Kirishima raised his eyes to yours, the corner of his mouth turned up just an inch.Â
âSitting.â
You purse your lips. âI see that. But you know you could do the same exact thing in your own seat, right?â
The conversation wasnât exactly a spectacle--the only other people in the room were in the back of the class talking amongst themselves distractedly. No one would bother to interfere.Â
âWell, YN,â Kirishima leaned back, âI kinda want to trade places for a day. I wanna sit in your seat and act all nonchalant, pretending like I actually wanted us to break up-â
You could hear his voice growing choked up and moved to stop him. âEijirou-â
â-and you can sit in my seat and do as I do. Remember how happy we were and how much you said you loved me. And how I broke up with you anyway.â
It was cold, like the room had suddenly dropped a few degrees. The boy everyone thought didnât have a single mean bone in his body seemed to flip a switch in himself, turning emotionless in the blink of an eye.Â
For him to act like you never loved him almost hurt as much as when you broke up with him. In all honesty, you thought it was for the best at the time. You felt it would help both of you focus on your studies so that you could become better heroes than anything.Â
You thought thatâs what Kirishima wanted, and that you were doing what was best for him. But you were wrong.
It seemed all he really wanted was you--being a hero had moved to second.Â
âEijirouâŚâ
So the question was did you want him just as badly?
âYNâŚâ
Becoming a hero was the entire reason you came to this school, and was also the reason you broke off one of the best relationships youâd ever had. Youâd thought you were making things better.Â
But had it really helped anything?
âEijirou, IâŚâ
Your grades had actually dropped. Terribly. You couldnât remember the last time you actually got quality sleep.Â
And judging by Kirishimaâs dark circles, he was suffering the same side effects.Â
These werenât the symptoms of withdrawal--they were just the signs of a mistake.Â
So as you looked into Kirishimaâs eyes, hard enough to see past all the barriers he had put up, you could see the same questions you kept asking yourself.Â
Why did I ever think this was worth it? Why did I ever think this would help me be happy?
The answer was it didnât.Â
And trial and error was a pain in the ass.Â
âEijirou, Iâm sorry.â Your brows drew together in regret as you lowered your gaze, reaching over to grab the hand Kirishima had tensed on the desktop. âMaybe⌠no. Breaking up was definitely a mistake, and I wasnât even thinking of the shit I was going to put both of us through by doing that. Iâm sorry.â
But just as his mouth opened to respond, the bell rang and twenty other students flooded in in a mad dash to get to their seats.Â
Before you moved to claim Kirishimaâs seat as your own, you made a split second decision that you hoped could display even a little of what you were thinking.Â
Kirishima froze at the kiss, his eyes going wide as you tilted his chin up to give yourself access. His lips were soft, just as youâd dreamt about for the last five nights, and tasted like that damned chapstick he always wore.Â
And when you pulled away, he tried to reach out to stop you but you stepped away from his desperate hands, instead navigating your way back to his desk.Â
Kirishima was frantic, spinning in your seat to get a look at your blushing face while his own mouth stayed open enough to catch a couple flies. The second your lips quirked up into a smirk, he almost jerked back with whiplash.Â
Fucking hell, she did not just-
âOkay class,â Aizawa slumped into the classroom with his usual cheerfulness. âI want you to take a look at-wait.â The teacher paused for just a second to take note of Kirishimaâs back facing him and you just five seats away whistling and observing the ceiling with interest.Â
âYLN, Kirishima, get back to your original seats for Godâs sake. Thereâs no time for this.â
All too ready, Kirishima rose from your chair and made his way towards you with eyes unsteady and hungry.Â
Tonight you would explain just what exactly you were thinking when you decided to break up with Kirishima out of the blue. I mean, you seriously almost gave him a heart attack.Â
Directly after school thoughâŚ
Kirishima caught your arm as you moved to walk past him and threw you a look that would stick in your mind for the rest of class. Just as fast, he released you completely and dropped into his seat, eyes locked on your every move as you slid into your own.
Oh yeah. Directly after school, he was going to make you pay for the pain you put his mind through with your body.
May I request an angsty scenario in which Shigaraki has to leave his fatally injured s/o behind during a mission?
*GIF not mine*
Summary: Shigaraki promised to come back for you in that warehouse. Promised to save you, pinned under exploded debris that crushed your legs to nothingness. The ambush wasnât supposed to happen, but neither was the explosion that occurred after. âFine, you can come. But if your ass gets blown up, donât come cryinâ to me.â
A/N: Ouchie, this oneâs gonna hurt yâall, just sayinâ. As an author, Iâm kinda required to want you to cry over this, so feel free to tell me if you do. As always, hope you enjoy!

The mission wasnât supposed to be easy. There were an enormous number of risks that came with it.Â
        âYN!â
You had fought so hard to go with him, arguing every point and saying that you wanted to stay by his side. Impatience had won in the end, and in a fate-sealing way, your wish had been granted.Â
âFine, you can come. But if youâre ass gets blown up, donât come cryinâ to me.â
It was only supposed to be a joke. A little jab at you to show just how much he really wished you hadnât joined the mission.Â
They were blowing up a warehouse heroes used to hold supplies. First aid kits, medicine, anything else they would have needed in case the League of Villains had struck in a dangerous way. Decidedly, the group wasnât too fond of the heroes possibly having an upper hand in the event of one of their attacks, so they struck.
        âAHH!âÂ
It was an ambush. Not even from heroes bound to a code to preserve all life, but from the countryâs army. Soldiers trained to kill had flooded the enormous warehouse, firing at every moving target in their range until they had all fled.
You were one of the few they hit.Â
âYN!â Shigaraki cried out your name once more, pushing past fallen shelves and barely managing not to trip on the pill bottles they previously held. He followed your moans of pain, sprinting in the general direction of where they originated, along with where he had seen the flash of orange.Â
Fired bullets echoed through the hollow building, bouncing off the metal walls and filling his ears as he searched for you.Â
There. Trapped under a tipped forklift, you whined, banging against the machine with a hopeless desperation Shigaraki had never seen before. It drove a sliver of fear through his heart as he crashed to his knees beside you, barely holding back his own tears at the sight of your crushed legs.Â
The angle at which they were bent was so wrong. Your knees had caved in on themselves, curving in a direct opposite way of how they should. Blood pooled on the floor beneath your thighs, directly where shattered glass from the machineryâs windshield had impaled your flesh.Â
Your hands were shaking, covered in your own vital fluid as you let out strangled cries, pawing so desperately at the too-heavy weight.Â
âYN! YN, look at me!â Shigarakiâs hands were trembling just as much, each finger begging to scratch at his neck in a nervous twitch. It was like he didnât know what to do with them; first, he hovered them over your legs, then the weight above them, then finally on your face as he directed it to his.Â
âIt hurts,â you wailed, banging your head against the concrete floor below. Hot tears trailed down your face, and in the distance, the other villains tried to fend off the army soldiers.Â
        There were just too many.Â
Shigaraki was at an age now where he knew when a battle had been lost. Everyone would have to flee and recover before the next attack on the heroes. But shit-- he had to get you out of here first.Â
âShh,â he hushed, scrambling for more words. He didnât want to feed you-- or himself-- lies. âItâs- youâre-â he choked on a sudden weight in his throat. Something like a snake coiled around his stomach, tightening and tightening until he couldnât speak anymore.Â
In situations where Shigaraki lost his composure, you were always the one to take over for him. You were the one in your relationship that kept a level head, spoke with slow words, and always calmed him down.Â
So even though it hurt, fuck it hurt so much, you knew what you had to do.Â
âTomura.â So much blood had drained from your body that when you lifted a hand, you almost flinched at how contrastingly pale it was compared to the liquid covering it. Nonetheless, you cupped his cheek, wiping away the small tear that had leaked out from under the hand. âYou have to go-â
        âNO!â
        âListen to me-â
âNO YN,â he shouted, voice just barely audible above the grenade explosions and gunshots. âI know what youâre thinking, and itâs not happening.â
âTomura⌠you can find me later. You just need to get out of here now.â
He opened his mouth to protest once more, only to duck his head at the flying debris of a nearby blast.Â
âJust come back for me later! Get the others out now, and Iâll wait for you here.â
âYNâŚâ A bitter taste of pure bile crawled up his throat at the sight of your mangled legs, but he knew better than to try. As much as he hated to admit it, he wasnât strong enough to lift the machine off you. Your solution was right; leave now, and come back later with someone stronger.
He hadnât realized it then, but you already knew there wasnât a later.
âOkay. But you better not do anything fucking stupid until I come back.â Anger flared in his stomach at his utter incapability of handling the situation. It disguised the hopelessness he felt, the despair in knowing he couldnât be your knight in shining armor.Â
Heroes be damned. Shigaraki wanted to be your savior right now.Â
âOkay.â You mustered up the best smile you could, but it faltered with every unbearable twinge of your paralyzed legs. Even if you did make it out of this, somehow, you would never be able to walk again.Â
After pulling away the hand on his face, he pressed a kiss to your lips. It was needy and frantic, a half-ditch effort to display your love for each other for what could be the last time.Â
When Shigaraki pulled away, he saw blind faith in your eyes, but read it entirely wrong.Â
He thought you trusted him to save you.Â
You believed he was strong enough to move on from losing you.Â
        âDonât. Go. Anywhere.âÂ
        âIâll try not to.â
And with that, he rose one last time, gathering up his fallen hand and pressing it back to his face. Red pupils trailed up and down your body and its surroundings, memorizing the exact situation so he could find you later.Â
        âLeague, retreat! Villains, fall back!â
At the call, his allies stopped their attacks. Flames stopped caressing fireproof soldiers. Knives, swords, and anything else flying at the heavily-guarded soldiers ceased in their movements, and suddenly the building flooded with stomping feet.Â
He was almost surprised that was all it took, until he realized that everyone else was just as desperate to escape this hellhole as he was.
The League would take this loss. But Shigaraki would never forget what it had cost him.Â
Navigating the large warehouse was easy; though it was almost the size of a miniature airport hangar, it was mostly clear aside from the occasional wooden box and metal shelf stocked with health supplies. Through the fingers splayed across his face, Shigaraki trailed after his fellow villains, following them as they fled through the nearest garage door and into the surrounding forest, darkened with the dead of night.Â
I can go back for her later.
        I canât save her now.
        Later.
        Later.
        Later.
âShit, shit, shit,â he muttered, scratching at his neck when he finally caught up with the others, all stopped at a tree so far from the warehouse that it was just barely visible through the thick brush.Â
Heavy panting combined with the natural hoots and calls of nature as everyone tried to catch their breath. Dabi slumped back against a tree, sliding to the ground and dropping his head back to let out a long groan. Toga followed suit, along with Twice and Spinner and before long, everybody was sitting in some way, dead tired from fighting on their feet for what felt like hours.Â
As the last left standing, Shigaraki knew he was catching curious glances from the others, but he was too anxious to sit. His eyes, puffy from having to leave you behind, shifted over every villain at his disposal. Which one would be strong enough to-
âTomura.â Kurogiri, looking ever so restless in the shape of a constantly-fluttering, black cloud, eyed Shigaraki confusedly with his yellow gaze. âWhere is YN?âÂ
âI had to leave her behind. Now I need someone to go back with me to-â
He felt it before he heard it.Â
The force of the boom. The wave of pure heat against his back, propelling him forward a good step or two. Then the white noise.Â
Nothing could be heard. All he saw was the trees around him blowing wildly from the blast. If he could, he would have heard your scream. The explosion.Â
Pure horror encompassed his face as his eardrums pounded.Â
        No.
        NO GODDAMNIT!
Without a second thought, Shigaraki turned back toward the building, shouldering his way through bushes and weeds until he found it. Or what was left of it.Â
Of course, the warehouse was unusable now. It had been ravaged by the League of Villains, looted of all its purpose.Â
Of course they would dispose of it.
A ploom of ash and smoke floated up into the sky, almost drowning out the moon and stars.Â
The smell burned his nose. Charred metal and scorched earth, tainted with a hint of death.
âNo,â he whispered, so meekly he barely noticed heâd even said it aloud.Â
The hand on his face falls to the grass with a dull thump.Â
He couldnât stand it. His knees wiggled underneath him until they finally gave out, allowing him to pathetically crumple to the floor. His lips quivered, his fingers twitched, his chest ached all at the sight.Â
Nothing. There was nothing there. Ash rained from the sky, floating into Shigarakiâs hair as he slumped forward, slamming his palms against the blackened dirt. All that remained of its existence, of your existence, was a perfect circle of burnt ground.Â
        âNo.â
God, if he had looked closer into your eyes, he would have seen it. The despair. The utter hopelessness that came with knowing your fate. That came with knowing you were going to die, and nothing could stop it.Â
You had hid it with a smile, and sealed it with a kiss.Â
        âNo, YN.â
He slammed his hands against the ground, screaming and shouting with every pound.Â
âNO! FUCK! NO! I WAS COMING BACK FOR YOU! I WAS GOING TO SAVE YOU!âÂ
Thatâs not what you wanted. What you really wanted was for Shigaraki to not share your fate. You had been trapped by it, unable to move and only to embrace. The last thing you ever desired was to drag the love of your life down with you.Â
His body convulses with each sob as he curls in on himself, pressing his face into the dirt and letting out his strangled howls of grief.Â
âGod- fuck, I was going to save you, YN,â he nuzzles his face against the ground, wishing it was the skin of your shoulder he loved to kiss so much. âI promise. I was going to come back for you.â
        Shigaraki hadnât just lost you.Â
No; it was never that simple.
Everything he ever had, the future that was in his grasp-- all gone up in a cloud of smoke.Â
        The promise ring you wore.
        The smile on your face.
The child growing in your stomach.Â
        He had truly lost everything.
A/N: Thank you anon for the request, I hope it turned out the way you wanted! enjoy <3

========================================
He could feel it, the way his heart flutters, watching you heaving as you had your foot on Denkiâs back with a tight hold on his arm. Youâd completely immobilized him, rendering you the winner. It was your first combat training together, everyone was excited and energetic. You, however, were more nervous than anything. So when you had won in such a short amount of time, it surprised everyone. You felt your cheeks almost sizzle as heat rises in them, with everyoneâs eyes on you, you thought youâd shrink to the size of an ant. You scurry off of Denki who looks at you with a wide smile, a little bit of dirt on his cheek.
âWow Y/N! You took me by surprise there, you were amazing!â He sits up, the rest of the class coming to shower you with praise as well.
âOh- wellâŚI-â You wave your hands in dismissal at the constant glory given to you, you felt like youâd pass out if you heard any more. As youâre backing away from your persisten classmates, not paying attention to whatâs behind you, you felt yourself collide with something. Slowly turning to see, youâre met with Bakugouâs chest. Your whole body tenses and your head lifts to meet with his prideful gaze.
âFight me.â He says with a self-assured smirk and dark, looming eyes. You jump and squeak, running behind Mr. Aizawa for protection. You felt like your heart was stuck in your throat as you hold onto your teacher for dear life. You knew how strong Bakugou was but the reason for your running wasnât his menacing stare, but the way your brain kept repeating the same phase as you stood against his sturdy chest.
âSo cute!!â
The feeling of being so close to him, it was simply overwhelming! Your body had to get away before you melted before him.
âBakugou! Youâre scaring her!â Mina shouts angrily at the blonde boy, swinging her fist up and down in frustration at his aggressiveness.
âSHUT UP EXTRA!â He retaliates, stepping closer to his teacher which youâre hiding behind.
âYour training buddies have already been decided, Bakugou. Now letâs move on with the training!â
âYes, sir!â The class shouts in unison at Aizawaâs demand. Dispersing to their places with their sparing buddies, Katsuki turns around with a âtchâ. He couldnât stop thinking about that stupid feeling in his chest, the one he felt watching you fight with your all. It was almost like when he watched All Might fight when he was younger, heâd feel such a pump of adrenaline from how awesome All Might was, but this was somehow different. He didnât like it.
After your first interaction, the two of you generally kept a distance but youâd often find your eyes meeting, like both of you were always watching each other. Youâd completely deny any time Mina or Jirou pointed out your constant stare, saying you just admired his power. Theyâd always give you a teasing look and giggle at your tinted face.
You had always been shy, ever since you were a kid. People have tried to help you overcome it but every time you were in front of unblinking eyes, words seemed to escape you. You would always strive to be better, but any progress was scarce and only noticed by yourself. Because of your shy personality, people felt the need to protect you, do things for you and make sure youâre okay. They always treated you like you inferior or weak, you even started to be believe that you were.
When you told people of your dream of being a hero theyâd often discourage you, saying that heroes need to be brave and fearless, even your own parents tried convincing you to find another career path. It became another reason for you to fight for your dream even more, you want to prove to people, to yourself, that you donât need protection. That you too, can save others.
So you trained, and trained and polished your quirks abilities, compensating your weaknesses. You did everything to be strong, but you still felt your brain go blank whenever someone spoke to you. All your training, meant nothing to those around you, they still thought you were weak. But when you got into UA, you felt hope fill your heart once more, they had recognized your strength, and youâd continue to show them that you were worth more than anyone bargained for.
When you first saw Bakugou, it was at the entrance exam. He had this fire in his eyes, his body never staggered, his voice never shook and his gaze never wavered. Your eyes met for a split second as he jumped over your head and exploded the robot villain you were going for. You felt your heart beat echoing through you, simply watching his unshakable movements made bravery surge through your body and for that split second his eyes met yours, you felt fearless.
To say you were relieved to see him in the classroom on the first day of school, is an understatement. While everyone coward in fear of him, you looked up to his careless attitude, he didnât care about what others thought and you wish you were the same. The only reason for keeping your distance was to keep your heart from beating a hole in your chest and jumping out. You quickly understood you had feelings from him, but who are you to love him? Youâre nowhere near as strong or brave, not to mention the other gorgeous people in class, they were all incredible but youâŚyou were just you. To please yourself while not disturbing him, you watched him from afar and admired him from the sidelines, that was enough. You convinced yourself of that.
All the wonderful people in your class were so kind and understanding, so you made friends pretty quickly. You hung out with everyone, expect for Todoroki and Bakugou, though you would often speak with Midoriya. Heâs also a bit shy, so the two of you had that in common and understood one another in that aspect. Bakugou noticed that. He noticed how the two of you grew close but he couldnât care less.
It was at the sports festival, where you gave your all and showed the world that you were capable of being a hero, it was then he truly noticed you. After your first training session, he knew you were pretty powerful but the strength and diligence you presented during your 1-on-1 battle, it blew him away. His eyes widened as he watched you, grabbing his shirt and clutching the fabric tightly he tsked at the familiar feeling arising in his chest, it was there again. The dumb flutter of his heart, how annoying.
âBakugou, is there anyone you like?â Denki asked teasingly. The boys of class 1a had gotten together for the sake of studying but it ended up becoming more of a chatter fest than anything.
âTch, donât be so stupid, dunce face.â He turned his head to look out the window of the common room of the dorms, your face creeping into the back of his mind.
âIâve noticed you tend to watch Y/N quite a lot.â Kirishima adds, making some of the boys let out a long âoooohâ.
âSheâs super pretty~!â Denki says in a dreamy way, thinking back on when youâd overpowered him during training.
âYeah and she-â before Mineta could utter another word, his face was engulfed by Bakugouâs hand, a small explosion going off and knocking the manlet to the ground.
âYOU DO LIKE HER!â Sero and Denki shout in unison making Bakugouâs face heat up with an unfamiliar stir in his stomach.
âIâLL KILL YOU!â He jumps at the two boys who only laugh harder. The only thing that spared their lives was Iida pulling Bakugou off of them.
After theyâd all gone to bed, Katsuki couldnât help but think about it. Had he gone and fallen for you? He covers his eyes with his forearm, sighing heavily at the fluttering in his chest. Whenever heâd lock eyes with you, youâd jump and turn away. Whenever he was close to you, you would practically run the opposite direction. Was he that scary? Did you hate him? His mind kept him up for hours, mercilessly berating him.
The next day he had dark circles under his eyes, not having gotten enough sleep because of you. He felt so sluggish and could barely focus, but when he heard heâd been paired up with you to spar, he suddenly felt a pulse of energy wash over him. Though he couldnât tell if it was out of confidence or nervousness. Turning to get a glimpse of you, he found you already staring at him and like always, you quickly look away with a panicked look. Why?
You could look at Deku just fine, you always spoke to him, always laughing with that nerd so why not him? He felt his heart squeeze in a way that was rare for him, a painful ache that spread throughout his body.
You gulp, standing a few feet away from Katsuki whose palm already flare up with tiny explosions. Your brain focusing on how cool you think he is, but your eyes only manage to stare at his feet, not having the nerve to look him in his breathtaking eyes.
âStart!â Aizawa shouts. Bakugou wastes no time and runs right at you, jumping in the air as he winds his arm back and launching it forward with a powerful explosion erupting from his hand. You quickly dodge and counterattack with an elbow to his back, his eyes widen as he watches your movements. You had yet to look at him. Before you could activate your own quirk, heâs already charging at you again and your barely able to react but you manage to dodge him by jumping in the air and launching yourself off his back to get some distance.
âDamn it!â He shouts, hunched forwards as he stares at his hands, you watch him in shock as he trembles.
âWhy wonât you look at me?!â Your shock having distracted you heâs able to land a blow, sending you flying back. Aizawa declares his victory but your mind only replays what heâd said. You struggle a bit as you stumble to your feet, Midoriya running to your side to make sure youâre okay. You give him a weak smile as he helps you get to recovery girl. The sight makes Katuki clench his fists and furrow his already tense eyebrows.
âWhateverâŚâ He mumbles as he sits on the ground, thoughtlessly watching the rest of the class battle.
âTheyâre both oblivious!â Mina shouts in frustration, sitting on Kirishimaâs bed as heâd gathered her, Denki, Jirou and Sero to talk about you and Bakugou. Sero gives a long sigh and closes his eyes while leaning on a wall.
âItâs true, theyâre impossible to convince.â He agreed with Mina.
âThen weâll just have to make them talk it out!â Everyone turns to look at Denki who seemed to have a plan in mind. Bakugou sighs as he makes his way to the front of Heights Alliance, looking at the text Eijiro had sent him.
âHey, meet me outside, I need to tell you something.â
He lets out an annoyed âtskâ as he puts his phone back in his pocket, mumbling to himself about how âthis better be importantâ
But when he makes it outside, he doesnât see Kirishima anywhere. Instead he sees the silhouette of your back under the dimly lit night sky. Youâre looking up at the stars, like an idiot. Looking to the stars like theyâre the most wondrous things to ever exists. You were always like that, seeing such rich beauty in small every day things, you always had something to smile about. But you never smiled at him. Bakugouâs pulled from his thoughts as he hears the entrance door lock, he shouts out an angry âOI!â As he runs to the door, banging on it, yelling at them to open it. The commotion startled you, making you turn around to see Katsuki recklessly banging and pulling on the door. Youâd been tricked, hadnât you? You knew it was odd for Mina to text you instead of barging into your room like she usually would. A panicked expression twits your features as a blush creeps onto your face, youâre alone with him now.
âB-BakugouâŚâ You say in a small voice, almost a whisper as you walk closer to him.
âWHAT?!â He screams at you, but your blush only grows as he looks at you.
âIf you..shout like that, Mr. A-Aizawa will wake upâŚâ Your gaze once more glued to the ground as you shyly stutter your statement.
âI-I think theyâll open up if we talkâŚâ
âAbout what?!â You shrug your shoulders slightly. You knew what, but your words were stuck in your throat and you couldnât cough them up. Not with the way he intently watches you, his eyes practically burning holes into you. The words heâd yelled during training returned to you, heâd completely misunderstood your attitude and you knew you had to do something about it.
âIâm sorry!â You say suddenly, nails digging into your palms as your hands formed tights fists. Your eyes stay lowered and your lips quivered, the beating of your heart ringing in your ears. Katsukiâs expression softens slightly, looking at you as you struggle to speak your mind, he lets go of the doors handle.
âIâŚI think youâre really coolâŚâ You gulp, looking to the side as you lift your head a bit.
âAnd my heartâŚit gets excited when youâre close.â Your hand creeps to your chest, feeling your heart beating the way it does when youâre around him. Though it aches in the moment, knowing what is to come.
âI runâŚbecause I know, Iâm not worthy of your attention-â A lump in your throat begins to form, making it harder to breathe. âB-butâŚI like you!â You quiver as you fight the tears threatening to fall, your head hanging low again, not having the courage to look at him. Knowing how your heart will beg for his. As you sniffle, you feel a hand grabbing the sides of your face, making you look up. Within a second, your lips are met with his, in a rough and inexperienced kiss. You feel the tears forcing through and falling freely down your burning cheeks.
âYou should look at me if youâre gonna confess like that, idiot.â He lets go of your face and shoves his hands in his pockets, looking away as the blush on your cheeks had spread to his. He looks at you from the corner of his eyes and his heart does that stupid thing again, because you were finally smiling at him.

A/N: I think this turned out really cute and I hope you think so too, thank you for reading! Requests are still open <3
đđđ¤đŽđ đ¨đŽ đ¤đđđŹđŽđ¤đ˘ hated winter.
he'd always catch a cold and he hated having a cold even more than he hated winter.
when he found himself coughing and sneezing on a what would have been fun saturday afternoon, bakugou katsuki almost threw his thermometer against the wall.
he'd gripped it so hard his knuckles grew white, "stupid thing dosen't know what it's talking about anyway" he'd muttered, walking away.
precisely three hours later, bakugou lay in bed, watching the clock tick slowly, the minute hand brushing past the 8:00 mark with a speed so slow he was afraid he'd grow mad.
bakugou shifted in his bed, annoyed and so very bored. his blanket was itchy and dug into his skin, not to mention his runny nose and sore throat.
bakugou groaned as a fresh wave of pounding took over his head.
he was about to pop another ibuprofen in his mouth when he realized the pounding was coming from his dorm room, not his head.
bakugou wanted to rip his hair out.
why can't people leave me alone for one goddamn day?
"what the hell do you want, extra?"
when he didn't hear a reply, bakugou's eyes flew open in anger as he stomped all the way to his dorm rooms door, yanking the handle open with such force it almost broke.
"what. the. HE-" he cut himself off when he realized who was standing at the door.
you. oh shit, you.
bakugou softened his glare, but he still narrowed his eyes, "what are you doing here?" he eyed the items nestled in your arms, "and what is that?"
you rolled your eyes, used to bakugou's stubbornness, "are you gonna let me in first?" you looked up at him through your lashes, your eyes narrowed.
"no" he huffed, but he moved aside nonetheless, his cheeks tinged with the slightest blush.
"that's what i thought," you said, a crooked grin hanging on your lips, as you pushed past him, throwing your scarf on his chair, your jacket on his table, and the items in your arms on his bed.
"go ahead and make yourself at home, it's not like i live here," he muttered, rolling his eyes.
you can make yourself at home for all i care.
you laughed, eyes twinkling with an emotion bakugou had yet to place, "you and your insatiable temper." shaking your head you picked up the can of soup you brought with you, dumping it's content in the nearest pan.
bakugou watched in curious silence from his bed, his eyes tracking your every move in his pint-sized kitchen.
why did you have such beautiful hair?
why did your eyes glow like the stars he often saw from his own bedroom?
why did his heart skip a beat every time he saw you?
"what are you even doing here," he scrunched his eyebrows in confusion. why were you in his kitchen, cooking him a meal, when you barely even noticed him during class? it's not like he was perfect boyfriend material. he didn't have perfect blue eyes, or a dazzling smile. hell, he didn't even have a good personality.
so why were you of all people, worrying about bakugou?
bakugou fell back on his bed as he closed his eyes, rubbing a tired hand over his equally tired face.
god, even when i close my eyes all i see is y/n.
y/n, y/n, y/n, y/n-
bakugou's eyes flew open when he felt a gentle hand rest on his forehead. he scrambled up, confusion flickering across his features for a brief moment. he didn't even hear you walk all the way over here.
"you're burning up katsuki, you need to lie down." you raised an expectant eyebrow, shoving the bowl of soup you just made into his hands, "and drink some soup."
katsuki? KATSUKI??
bakugou rolled his eyes, as he shoved your hand away. "again, i'm fine, i don't need to lie down, i just need you to take your stupid soup and leave."
stupid, stupid, stupid! how could you be so goddam stupid? don't tell her to leave you idiot!
he closed his eyes waiting for your footsteps to fade away as you left, leaving him alone just like every other person ever did, but instead he heard a sigh and the thud of a soup container being put down.
bakugou's breath hitched as you carefully pushed him back, bringing his blanket up to his shoulders and wrapping him in it. "bakugou, you need to shut your idiotic mouth for one day and get some rest." you placed the bowl of soup by his bedside. "even the best heroes need rest, and I'm not leaving until the future number one hero recovers from his cold."
y/n called me a hero.
you waited a few minutes, watching as bakugou shifted around his bed, your less-itchy blanket covering him from head to toe.
after making sure he was comfortable, you turned around grabbing your coat, your phone clutched in your hand ready to leave, when bakugou spoke up.
"will you be here when i, uh, wake up?"
you stopped in your tracks, a smile growing on your face.
you turned around, as you placed your coat back on his desk, "that depends, will you listen to me and actually get some rest?"
bakugou stared at you, something swirling in his eyes, and then nodded, "there's leftovers in the fridge." his voice sounded gruff and foreign to his own ears, but he'd be lying if he said he wasn't smiling under the mounds of blankets you dumped on him. he turned around, switching positions so you couldn't see him smile lighting up his face.
maybe, just maybe, he'd begin to like winter if it mean you'd fuss over him like this every time he caught a cold.
after all, bakugou would do anything for you.
even catch a cold.
i kinda hate this one ngl, its too un-proofread for me :(
WARNINGS - Angst (kind of?) a bit of fluff and comfort, mentions of death and alcohol. Lmk if I missed a few things!
Pairing: Pro-Hero!Katsuki Bakugou x Reader
This is actually inspired by a song from Girl and the Dreamcatcher âglowing in the darkâ you guys should listen to it first to get the full experience/emotion while reading this.
You stood in front of his grave, visiting for the 4th time this month.
Your beloved fiance, Bakugou who served so many people during his rise as the number 2 hero. He risked his life to save othersâ and you knew the risks, you knew the consequences.
You knew that something like this would happen
âI miss you, so muchâ You whisper, tears fighting the urge to spill out from your dreary eyes. The rose you held slowly being crushed by the pressure you put on it, dropping it onto his grave, you wish he was here.
And he was, he was behind you-
âI love you, Katsukiâ Tears finally slipping from your eyes as you hug yourself in the gloomy weather.
You have no idea how much it hurt him to see you like this.
You walk towards the car that was waiting to pick you up from the cemetery, hopping in you looked out your window only to find out that your leave was right on time as it started to rain hard.
You sat back, closing your eyes until you felt a pair of hands caressing your face.
You were shocked and you opened your eyes to see nothing, but it felt so familiar. You felt it again, this time it was a comforting weight on your thigh-
You didnât know if you were going crazy but you swear you felt two light touches on your body and you couldâve sworn that the touches felt like your fianceâs rough and calloused hands.
ââââ
You finally arrive at your shared home with Katsuki, sitting down in front of the fireplace trying to rationalize what you just felt earlier in the car.
She can feel me
Katsuki thought to himself, but alas, he was nothing but an entity now. You couldnât see him nor hear him, but you could feel him. And somehow that felt comforting.
Ding
Your phone rings, a notification of a message from Mina
Hey! I know you still feel⌠well- youâre still grieving about his death, and well uhm, me and the girls wanted to ask if you wanted to join us at the club to take your mind off of things?
Let us know right away, kay?
You left them on read and thought about the offer. She did have a point, youâve been sulking for nearly 5 months already, not going out of the house, the only time you ever go out is to visit his grave.
And so, without a second thought you stood up from in-front of the fireplace and got dressed up.
A short plain black dress that fully accentuated your curves, The dress you wore on the night he asked you to be there by his side as his wife to be.
He was right there, in the corridor looking at how you checked yourself one last time in the mirror mindlessly going through his shadow-y figure.
Still as gorgeous as the last time he saw you.
ââââ
Walking into the club you spotted Mina with Uraraka, Momo and Asui.
You had a few shots with them and they dragged you into the dance floor, letting loose and finally getting your mind off of Katsuki.
As you were dancing to the beat of the music, you couldnât help but open your eyes only to see Him.
What was he doing here-
A person walked past and he disappeared.
What the fuck. You swear you saw him- and he knew you saw him too by the way you reacted.
All throughout the night you felt uneasy, trying to go back to your table, you sat down and saw his face in the crowd clearly.
As if he were still alive.
His skin wasnât pale, it looked like he was still breathing, he didnât look dead
You walked up to him, seeing if what you were witnessing is true and then you touched him.
âKatsuki-â you say as you bump your forehead with his
âBaby, I fucking missed youâ he said, lifting your face to see you in all your glowing glory.
âI missed you too suki, please come backâ you slowly sway with him to the beat of the music.
âIâm right here baby, iâm right hereâ he embraced your waist as the both of you started to move with the crowd.
âI love you Katsuki, I wish you didnât leave so soonâ you sob, placing your face in the crook of his neck, you feel hot tears burning from your eyes. Youâre just glad that you were able to feel him again.
âI know baby, I love you too, fuck- I missed youâ he said, pulling you in closer.
âY/n?â You were called by Mina.
âY/n, what are you doing- why are you hugging air?â
You look at her with confusion, and then you looked back to see that Katsuki wasnât there anymore.
âI- I thought he was-â you say, feeling overwhelmed and weak.
âY/n, Hun, come hereâ Mina opened up her arms, calling you in with a warm embrace.
âWe all miss him, even the boys miss him. We all loved him and we know how much youâre hurtingâ
âI just- I saw him, Mina. He was here with meâ
ââââ
He was with you, heâs in the crowd watching you hug your best friend from afar.
All he could visualize is a spotlight that was glowing down on you, giving you that heavenly aura he craved.
âTill we meet again, Princessâ
older bf! aizawa fixing all of my daddy issues. yeeeea. yeeeeeeeeeea.
i donât even mean sexually!! like imagine opening up to him for the first time. youâve been dating for a while and he knew some of your familial relationships were⌠strained to say the least, but he didnât know the extent of it. youâre recalling some of your experiences â maybe a specific event, maybe just an overview â and heâs humming and nodding while listening to your words, his brows knitting together in a pitying expression. you think heâs pitying you anyway, youâre kind of avoiding his eyes as you speak.
your voice starts shaking after a moment and youâre internally cursing yourself for tearing up because why are you still so affected by the actions of your father? you pause for a second, swallowing against the lump in your throat and itâs so humiliating to fall apart in front of your boyfriend like this andâ
and shota places a hand over yours. his hand is rough and calloused from hero work but so warm. heâs gazing wistfully at where your skin meets, his thumb so gently grazing over your knuckles before giving your hand a small squeeze. âiâm so sorry that happened to you, baby. you didnât deserve that.â oh and his words are just barely there, but they ring louder than what anyone has ever told you in response to your past.
your eyes meet his after he speaks. you want to snap back out of some deep seated need to defend yourself (to make yourself seem less vulnerable, less pathetic, perhaps). of course you didnât deserve what happened to you, thatâs a dumb thing to point out. thatâs what youâre about to say when your lips part, but only a small, shuddering breath leaves you.
you donât even notice the tears rolling down your cheeks until shota brings up a warm hand to wipe them away, his body leaning closer to yours to press his lips against your forehead. you want to curse at him, to push him away and storm off for even daring to see you in this state⌠but you donât.
instead you wrap your arms around his middle and hide your face in his neck (shame, maybe?) and cry. youâre not sobbing, but you canât help the hiccuped breaths that leave you when his hand slips under the hem of your shirt to run his warm palm up and down your back. he doesnât say anything after that.

cwâs!!: some angst and fem! reader (reader is referred to as a woman and uses she/her pronouns) :]
wc: 916 (my longest posted yet!!!)
imagining shigaraki who announces to the league that he found a temporary place to stay a few weeks after the base gets destroyed, answering zero questions as to how exactly he found a place for a group of villains to stay after they had seemingly exhausted all of their options (âsomeone owed me a favorâ was all he had said. none of them believed him).
theyâre all confused when they arrive at a relatively residential neighborhood. theyâre even more confused when their boss walks up to the front door of a random house as if heâs done it a thousand times before (he has. heâd always crawl back to this doorstep, always looking a little small and wounded).
and â not to be repetitive â but imagine their shock when the sweetest looking woman opens the door. you. youâre all smiles and sugar, giving their boss a wide smile before greeting the rest of them and inviting them inside. theyâre practically gawking at the way you dote on them as if theyâre normal houseguests and not a group of strangely dressed villains.
the blonde girl and the two men in masks are the only ones that introduce themselves (himiko, jin, and âcompressâ. you recognized them from tomuras previous explanations. he thought they were all pains in their own right, you couldnât bring yourself to agree). the others stay close by tomura, allowing him to guide them through the new environment (as if they had much of a choice). he hadnât said a word since the nice woman opened the door, even ignoring spinners insistent, whispered questions.
tomura suddenly stops, gesturing to three doors. âweâre taking up these two rooms, the garage, and the living room.â he points to the last door in the hallway. âthatâs the bathroom. figure it out amongst yourselves.â he explained flatly, making his way back to the main area of the house with nothing else said. they were left with more questions than when they had initially gotten there.
their boss had settled into a couch by the time they wandered back into the main area, slouched against an armrest with that blank look he wore whenever he was lost in thought. you had taken to the more talkative three, smiling softly as you answered their questions while offering them mugs of something warm (you couldnât help the softened look in your eyes when you saw the brief shock in their expressions at the gesture).
it was quiet for a while after that. peaceful, even⌠until you dropped a mug while trying to tidy up your kitchen. it had been a while since the league had seen their boss suddenly so alert, no hesitation in his movements when he briskly made his way into the kitchen. they had braced themselves to hear yelling or some form of harshness. anything to express his displeasure towards the sudden interruption to his thoughts. only, thatâs not what happened. at all, actually.
you were a little more frantic, murmuring soft apologies while crouched down and picking up the larger shards of ceramic. only the three at the table could see what was going on, but the quiet way everything was handled was enough for everyone to connect some dots. tomura hadnât said anything, simply moving down to your level to help you pick up the bigger shards.
when he finally spoke, it was like witnessing a different person. âsoftâ was an adjective the league wasnât familiar with. they didnât have the privilege of really knowing what that word meant⌠they understood it better now though, with the way their boss was reassuring you in a quiet voice. his words were scolding as per usual, (even you werenât immune to his small lectures urging you to âbe more carefulâ) but he said them with a lightness none of them had heard before.
and then you touched him and suddenly they understood (those who witnessed it, of course). the contact was brief, just a small, grateful squeeze to his shoulder. something so easily overlooked by the general population⌠but they knew their boss well. they knew the weight of the small gesture. it was so painfully normal, he didnât even blink an eye at the small touch.
the three at the table â who usually had had so much to say â could only spare each other small, knowing glances. the others that had settled on the couch still looked expectant, as if waiting for the storm that was soon to come pouring down (they couldâve waited years, it was never going to happen).
the league stood at your house for two weeks after that, the interactions between you and the members short but sweet. tomura had bunked in the garage, walking into the house throughout the night with the weak excuse of having to use the bathroom.
they decided not to call him out on his lie.
you remained kind even as they were leaving, wishing them well and softly urging them to stay safe. only himiko noticed the look you and tomura shared as he walked past you. a secret something she was sure only the two of you knew the meaning of. she found herself foolishly hoping that the pretty lady who had taken care of them would be okay.
you found yourself foolishly hoping to see them again (in another life, maybe. things would be better then.)
