Mina asks as she shoves a pretend microphone in your face. 

You blink, place your thumb in the book you're reading and shut it to smile up at her. “Mina what is this?” 

“Come on! We’re supposed to be practicing for interviews and stuff and I’m sure they’re gonna ask us about our fellow classmates sooooo… play along would ya?” She says putting a hand on her hip. Ochako and Hagakure are standing behind her, practically bouncing on their tiptoes. 

You give them all a look, and twist your lips to the side with a suspicious frown. “Alright fine,” you say sighing. “Ask me your question.” 

“We’ve noticed you and pro hero Dynamight have been spending a bit of time together on patrols and teaming up for missions. The two of you seem close,” Mina starts in her best interviewer voice. 

You roll your eyes. It’s true, you and Bakugo have been working together more, but it’s only because your quirks seem to be extremely compatible. Kirishima’s hardening is good for endurance practice, but your shields are better at condensing his explosions, quieting them and helping with stealth. 

“We work well together to get the job done,” you reply simply. 

“Right yes, we’ve seen the two of you jump in popularity on the hero charts. Very impressive,” Mina continues and you think you see her hide a snicker behind her arm before she continues. 

“Given how much time the two of you have spent together, I’d figure you know him better than most of us,” she says and it feels like she’s baiting you into something. You squint your eyes. 

“I mean I know him just as much as anyone he works with. Mina, what is this about?” you ask and she shushes you quickly. 

“Come on, don't break character!” she scolds as you roll your eyes. “What’s one word you’d use to describe your colleague Katsuki Bakugo? We’re all dying to get inside his head a bit,” she asks again. 

You huff, open your book and slip a piece of paper into it. Clearly you’re not getting back to it anytime soon. You think for only ten seconds before you look seriously up at her, staring directly into her eyes as you answer. 

“Quiet,” you say simply. 

All three girls sputter and react with wide eyes. “Quiet?!?!  Bakugou?!?!?” Mina squeals. 

“Are you sure we’re talking about the same Bakugou? Spiky blonde hair, explosions, always has a scowl on his face?” Hagakure replies. 

You roll your eyes again, “Yup. The very same one. Now are we done with the interview? My book was just getting good,” you say, tapping the hard cover impatiently. 

“No no no you can’t just name a word that’s the complete opposite of him and then not expect to explain. Forget the mock interview. Spill!” Mina demands. 

You blink up at them in confusion. “But… it’s not the complete opposite of him. When he’s not battling a villain or training, he barely speaks, don’t you notice? He’s usually alone or walking around with headphones. If anything he’s lost in thought. He’s a complete control freak about his progress so he’s always thinking about how he can be better but he doesn’t vocalize it. During patrols I have to pull conversation from him and even then, it’s quite short. With how much he stays to himself, I can't even imagine how loud his thoughts must be,” you explain. 

Mina stops and stares at you in disbelief, but you stare past her head, remembering all of the patrols you had with him. 

He’s always been nothing but quiet around you. It’s almost like he goes out of his way to be quieter and calmer around you. Even after blasting a villain to kingdom come and screaming “GO TO HELL”, he always comes back to you with a soft gravelly, “Nice defense today,” or an even quieter, “Thanks for having my back.” 

You’d kill to hear him scream and yell all of his thoughts like you assume everyone else thinks he does. He’s always been a mystery to you, never able to crack his hard exterior. 

“I think sometimes, he’s even a little sweet,” you whisper and you think it’s to yourself until Mina’s nose is practically hitting yours. 

“Oh my god, you’re… you’re blushing…OH MY GOD! YOU LIK–”

You slap a hand over her mouth quickly while the other two girls squeal. “Shut it! It’s not like that!” you say quickly as the others giggle. 

To your horror, Bakugou is walking up behind them, weaving through the chairs in the large common room. 

“Oi, I just got off patrol. Wanna spar?” he asks, ignoring the others and looking directly at you. 

You give Mina a threatening look that says “I’ll skin you alive if you say a word” before you drop your hand from her mouth and say to him “Uhh yeah, gimme like five minutes to change.”  

“Fine, meet me back here in five then. We can get dinner after,” he says, turning to walk away. 

The girls continue to snicker under their breath as he walks away, but you don’t hear them. All you can focus on is the tips of Bakugou’s ears as he walks away, inflamed a brilliant shade of red and you could swear that he turned ever so slightly to peer at you over his shoulder from the corner of his eye. And on the corner of his mouth, a hint of a little smirk.

He’s leaning against a corner of brick, smoke billowing from his nose when he laughs at a joke you made, the scarred skin underneath his eyes pulling tight as his eyes crinkle with laughter, hands clutching his side.

It wasn’t even particularly funny, but between the booze and the weed, his guard was lower than usual.

You enjoyed your rooftop adventures with the man for that very reason. It gave you glimpses of what he was like before he built all those walls, before his only dream was destroying his father.

You would’ve liked the old Touya, you think.

You take the moment to just look at him fondly while his attention is elsewhere, your own softer laughter bubbling up at the sight of his happiness.

He draws his legs up as he leans back, wiping his eyes with his thumb as if he’d been on the verge of tears, eyes settling on you warmly. He settles his elbow on one of his knees as he tilts his head to rest on his fist, studying you intensely as you take another long sip from the bottle of whiskey between the two of you, and he stifles a chuckle when you grimace at the taste.

His mouth quirks up in a gentle smile as he holds out the smoldering joint in offering after a moment, still held too close to his body for you to reach from where you sit.

You heave yourself forward onto your knees, body stretching to reach for the joint. The moment your fingers brush against his, he’s pulling back with a grin, holding it just out of your reach.

You frown at him as he presses the weed to his lips and inhales deeply, exhaling smoke away from you as you settle between his legs, arms crossed.

He takes in your pout and chuckles, leaning forward so that his face is inches from yours, his hand reaching to brush a strand of hair away from your face. His thumb is soft when it traces over the skin on your cheek, following a path to your bottom lip and you can’t help the way your pulse jumps.

He watches intently as he tugs it down slightly, wishing he could sink his teeth into it when it snaps back into place.

“Open,” he murmurs, pressing his thumb past your lips to press down on your tongue, your mouth widening immediately.

His eyes are hooded, from the weed or from the way you’re so obedient, so pliant for him, you’re not sure. He uses his other hand to inhale for a long moment before he leans forward and blows the smoke directly into your mouth, watching your eyelashes flutter and tongue pulse under his finger before he’s releasing you.

He slides a hand behind your neck as he chases the smoke with his lips, unable to help himself and slotting his mouth over yours easily as you lean into him. He half heartedly stamps out the joint to free his other hand, both coming to cup your face as he pulls you in closer.

You’re the first to pull away, when he guides your hands under his white shirt and the familiar feeling of his skin and staples beneath your palms snaps you out of your stupor. You’ve done this all before and you know that just like before, it’s going to end badly for you.

“Dabi,” you warn softly, his breath fanning out over your bottom lip as his forehead presses against yours.

“Touya,” he corrects, voice low. “For you, it’s Touya.”

You know you shouldn’t let him draw you back so easily, but when he leans in again, you don’t stop him.

katsuki bakugou has a staring problem.

he does, and he knows he does, but scarlet colored hues narrow each time without fail when they settle upon your features, and to someone who didn't know him, they would think the boy was out to get you. maybe in the middle of the night with no witnesses, to keep his hands clean.

katsuki also thinks you're stupid.

not academically, of course. he's seen your drive and you're not too bad in any of your classes, actually. he just thinks it's stupid the way your laugh seems to hang in the air a couple seconds after you've even stopped giggling, a hand covered to muffled the sound once aizawa turned to send an unimpressed glare over his shoulder.

it's stupid the way your cheer on the rest of the class during training, waving excitedly as everyone eventually completes the day's challenge, and immediately set to complimenting everyone's individual approach like you actually cared or something.

(flattery doesn't work on him, though, so you can cut the shit.)

(that was a lie.)

and yet.. katsuki can't help but take a liking to you. strange, he knows. it's not like he expected it, either. but he finds himself offhandedly hoping you're paired together for the next project you'll be assigned, or that you'll run up to him first when he completes the day's training, or that you'll—

notice him staring.

it throws him off too, eyes widening for a split second before immediately turning away, cheek smushed into his hand. and against his will - ugh - he feels his face grow hot, brows furrowed at the sheer audacity.

because now, katsuki can finally admit to himself that these ‘shitty’ feelings are more than just stupid.

THE BNHA BOYS AS THINGS I WANT TO EXPERIENCE

A/N — starting to think i’m unlovable lol

HAND HOLDING. izuku absolutely adores holding your hand. he thinks it’s such a classic way to be intimate without being overbearing. he loves how soft and small it feels in his; walking down the street or in the halls with your hand intertwined with his own makes him feel so content at at peace. he also likes the way it let’s everyone know that you’re with him, and he can’t help the pride that swells in his chest every time he thinks about how you’re his girlfriend.

HOMEWORK HELP. bakugou would gladly help you with your homework, even if he yaps about how annoying you are for always asking. he wants you to be your best self, and he has no problem with helping you get there. he’s a lot gentler than he is with kirishima because duh, you’re his girl! so yeah, he tries to throw the occasional praise in there, but otherwise, he’s just as brash. at first he questioned if he was still being too aggressive in his tutoring approach, but when you proudly show him your improved grade on a quiz, he fails to hide the small smile that forms on his face at your pure elation. you looked so relieved, and when you three your arms around his neck in a tight embrace, he didn’t hesitate to wrap his own around your waist and mumble “i knew you could do it, dumbass.”

WORKING OUT TOGETHER. kirishima is so kind and patient, it hurts. he never makes fun of you for how much you lift or how quickly you run out of breath. he’s always there to remind you that you’re doing a great job and he’s proud of you. there’s never a moment where you’re embarrassed of your strength or the faces you make because kirishima would never allow it. he’s always sharing his knowledge with you and he never makes you feel stupid for not knowing exactly what to do all of the time. he loves that you even come along, the fact that you wanna exercise with him makes his heart soar. every time you finish a set, he gives you a big toothy smile and a kiss on the forehead.

GOING OUT FOR LUNCH. todoroki loves food and he loves you. combining the two was honestly the most logical thing to do. your week is usually really hectic, so whenever your busy schedules let up, he makes sure he has you all to himself for the entire afternoon. each time is some place new, and he never gives you any clues as to where he’s taking you. it’s fun because the both of you get to explore new prefectures and expand your tastes, but mostly because you’re with each other. during lunch, he’ll look at you sweetly as you talk about your day or he’ll tuck you hair behind your ear if he sees it’s getting in the way while you eat. todoroki’s presence makes going out to lunch feel so utterly sweet and domestic, it’s genuinely such a warm experience.

GOING TO THE AMUSEMENT PARK. kaminari knows how worked up you can get, and he’s always eager to help you let loose a little every once in a while. kaminari let’s you ease into it with the cute mini games and prizes but don’t get too comfortable because pretty soon, he’s dragging you onto some sort of death contraption. he knows you need to release that tension and stress and what better way to do so than to scream your lungs out on a rollercoaster! he reassuringly holds your hand to let you know you’re okay, but pretty soon the adrenaline is pumping through your veins, and you can’t contain your laughter because holy shit that ride was horrendous. he can’t help but laugh with you, partly because yeah he definitely just shat his pants, but also because after seeing you stressed all week, hearing your laugh is music to his ears.

NAPPING TOGETHER. weeks can be utterly exhausting with classes, training, studying, etc. that sometimes you just want to do nothing, and shinsou is completely in agreement with that. on one particular afternoon, you were in his room, sitting on his bed as you struggled to keep your eyes open while finishing up an assignment. shinsou had noticed almost instantly that you weren’t in any state to keep doing work, so he gently tapped you with his foot. when you looked back at him, he gestured for you to come over and you did. you crawled up to the space beside him and lied down, arm draped over his chest as you closed your eyes. you had woken up about an hour later, content and refreshed as you looked up at your sleeping boyfriend. from then on, taking naps together after school became a regular. relishing in each others warmth and resting peacefully for that hour or two made all the difference.
