Waxer and Boil were so criminally underutilized.
what do you mean you’re going to introduce me to the two funniest guys in the GAR (thinking about “…i guess we’re the best!”) who also have a healthy dose of fear but also completely love their Commander and General but just fucking hate their jobs as a silly + grumpy duo and then barely ever show them again. what the fuck Dave Filoni.

prayers for a bad batch season 2 trailer today
something i realized thats been driving me insane about this scene is the lighting.
look at him. he’s casted in orange light. his armor color from the war. the Mandalorian armor color for freedom.
as he sits there and disobeys the Empire, as he sits there and negotiates (after Rampart says word for word “we do not negotiate.”) and he’s painted in orange light.
as he sits there and proves that he’s still the person he was during the war- one of the best people, good to the bone- he is shining in his color. the Empire tried to take who he was from him with the chip, and they took his orange from him and painted it over with grey, but here he is proving he’s just as good and kind as he’s always been and here he is still covered in orange.
light and color symbolism you will be the DEATH of me
I have said that i’ve accepted cody’s probable death in season two of The Bad Batch, but please know that I am, in fact, a fucking liar.
I need people to understand that Commander Cody is not a top, he is a bottom. I always see fics portraying him as a top. nope. he’s also a bratty bottom GOOD DAY!
I want to get this off my chest regarding the Star Wars fandom, especially the Clone Wars and Bad Batch fans, because it's something that's been bothering me for a bit. This may come across as controversial to some and fall upon deaf ears, but I want to address this in the nicest, most encouraging, smartest way possible. This also isn't a callout to anyone, it's just something I've observed!
Everyone in the fandom (specifically TCW and TBB people) is all for clone individuality and advocacy until they aren't. When it comes to a particular clone they don't like, it's no longer convenient for them to love all clones, and then all bets are off.
Take the fandom's treatment of Cody and Bly, for example.
Cody and Bly's worths and personalities have been reduced to solely their Jedi Generals to a disgusting degree. Whenever I look for Cody content specifically (and I've checked the "commander bly" tag too for confirmation), it's just oversaturated with Codywan content. Even in the non-Codywan-specific posts, you can't find a sentence with Commander Cody that doesn't also mention Obi-Wan Kenobi. Not to mention male characters (especially) portrayed platonically in media can't *just* be friends anymore, but that's a whole other issue for another day 😅 Bly is the same way; whenever there's a sentence with Commander Bly in it, Aayla Secura just happens to *magically* appear. That's so unfair to Cody and Bly.
Then take Fox, for example. Fox has less screen time than Cody, but he is still given an entire multifaceted personality, and even a fan-created face to a name. It makes no sense that Cody and Bly aren't given the same kind of care and attention. Obviously you can make fanon personalities (because that's part of the fun of participating in fandoms!), but they shouldn't be reductive, insult the character, and not do the character justice. Thanks to TBB S2, more light is shed on Cody's personality (and hopefully, fingers crossed, we see more Cody and Bly in another season of TBB, so Bly's definitive personality is addressed and developed more. It's what he deserves 😌). Cody is so much more than just Obi-Wan's sidekick: he's stern and by-the-book (however, his orthodoxy has its limits, and he uses his own judgment in various situations), but he's very caring, loyal, kind, intelligent, and courageous!
Clones fought tirelessly in both the Republic and Empire eras (albeit the beginning of the Empire era when the clones were still serving in the military) to distinguish themselves from their fellow brothers in order to make themselves more human. Personal selections and preferences for their hairstyles, armor paint, tattoos, names, and even scars obtained in battle tried to convey to the general public that they were more than mere copies of Jango Fett. They were always human, but because they all share the same face, the GAR was then made faceless. To natborns, a faceless army wasn't as tragic to see refused basic human rights, be victims of bigotry, and then physically suffer and die in combat, because with facelessness comes a lack of identity, and with a lack of identity comes neglect.
Support all the clones, not just your favorites! They are some of the most tragic characters, if not the most tragic characters, in all of Star Wars. If the writers won't give them the love they deserve from the natborn characters (because seeing a named clone we just met die within the same episode is so upsetting 😩...ahem, I'm talking to you Dave and Jen lol!), the least we can do is give them that much-needed love from a fan's standpoint! 🥰

basically obi wan left and went back to melidaan after the clone wars ended to essentially retire and cody and some of the 212th need to lay low for a while so they go and track down their former general. And they find him hands deep in dirt farming of all things, and theres this whole thing between cody and obi wan about how they fell out of the closeness they had when they were in war(theres a moon lit conversation that is in my head and not on paper I HAD IDEAS) and they miss each other, they really do, but they don't know how to function together without the war on their backs.
Now obi wan isn't only a farmer no no hes a busy boi, he also helps out at the local clinic/hospital because him having the force means it's easier to understand how people feel which means it's easier to diagnose the patients. So one day he's working and idk his neigbor or something knocks on his door, and the troopers that where living with obi wan are all like whos that, so cody goes and opens the door and it's just someone obi wan knows coming to ask him for some help, and that person is like who are you? so cody says he's a good friend of obi wan's and is visiting him, and that obi wan is at the clinic right now. The neighbor guy is like ok and goes to find obi wan.
And when the guy finds obi wan they go "obi wan i didn't know your boyfriend and his family is visiting" obi wan internally is going " boyfriend????" and obi wan goes along with it because it's a good cover for the clones. and when he gets back to his house he announces himself with "my dear im home" and he and cody bond via pretending to be a couple because it reminds them of having a mission. And with the whole fake couple thing they learn to be domestic with each other, and function together outside of a war setting.
Until the group of clones don't have to lay low anymore and they can go back to corusant. and both cody and obi wan are like, i should tell him i love him for real and they do and they live happily ever after :)
