These are just the last three fics I wrote. I appreciate the likes, believe me I do, but you have to understand. Likes do nothing for content creators. It’s the reblogs. Because that’s how you find shit on your dashboard. Through reblogs. Not likes. This isn’t twitter or tiktok or instagram. This is a website that’s run by the reblog system.

Reblogging helps content creators put their stuff out there. Why do you think so many people stopped writing fanfic and creating beautiful fanart and edits? It’s because they put in hours of work and don’t get nearly enough notes for their masterpieces. Yes we do this because we enjoy it but like...some validation won’t hurt. A boost of confidence here and there might be all someone needs to finish whatever thing they started and left.

You take a deep breath as you squeeze your way into the train carriage. It is so packed, you don’t even have to hold on to anything once the train starts moving; you and your fellow commuters keep each other standing upright. You always go to work earlier to avoid the morning rush hour, however it is your own fault for pressing snooze one time too many this time.

You gasp as the train jerks and instinctively your hand reaches out to grab onto something, only to be jostled around by the other passengers. You are losing your balance and falling backwards, only for your back to hit something hard.

"Can we just, please, take a look?"

"No."

"Please? We don't have to buy anything, we can just browse a little."

Jungkook emits a sigh and you know you've got him.

And that's why the both of you enter a cute baby boutique two minutes later. You held hands - you had complained about being cold and Jungkook had wordlessly taken your hand while you walked through the mall, one hand on the stroller where Nabi was napping, and the other warming you - but now you let go of his hand, exploring the store on your own while Jungkook follows you.

You stop when you see something cute. "We need to get this." You point at a pink head band with a bow tie in the middle.

"No, this is what we need to buy." Jungkook lifts up a tiny baby bodysuit that says "I have the best daddy in the entire world" in the strangest fonts ever.

"I think this one's closer to reality," you claim, picking up a bodysuit right next to his.

"Me plus mummy equals one broke daddy," Jungkook reads out loud. "Did you, like, secretly design this?" You giggle when he grabs one and says, "I'm gonna buy it." The irony of it.

You hear Nabi whimpering in the stroller. You lift her up in your arms, calming the little girl that had just woken up from her nap. Resting her cheek against your chest she stares at Jungkook as he brushes his thumb over her soft cheek.

"Had a good sleep, Nabi?" Jungkook asks in that cute voice he uses whenever he talks to Nabi.

"Hi, is there anything I can help you guys with?' A voice behind you suddenly says.

You turn around and see an employee, her eyes instantly dropping down to the baby in your arms. She immediately coos, just like everyone who sees Nabi for the first time.

"We're just browsing a little," Jungkook answers.

"How old is she?" The employee's eyes are still fixed on Nabi.

"Four months," you say, looking down at Nabi and smiling at her.

"I have to say, your body looks absolutely stunning, even after having a baby."

"Oh, I-" you stammer, a little dumbfounded at her assumption that you're Nabi's mum. "Actually, I'm-" Searching for help, you look at Jungkook. But he's got other plans in mind. He's pulling you to him by your waist, giving it a little squeeze, which makes you stop talking.

"Yeah, she looks so gorgeous, doesn't she?"

Your cheeks feel hot and you press your lips together. He's so gonna get a smack at the back of his head for this.

The employee's smile widens. "I'll be around if you need any help."

"What the hell, Jungkook?" you snap once the employee is out of earshot.

"What? You're gonna be mad cause I gave you a compliment?"

"I'm mad at you for lying!"

He rolls his eyes. "I bet she'd be more confusing if we told her that you aren't Nabi's mum."

"Whatever," you mutter.

A good half an hour later you're at the cash register - with too many clothes for it to just be like, how you'd initially claimed it, browsing, but you can't resist tiny baby clothes and Jungkook can't resist you - the employee gives Nabi a soft look before she looks up at you and Jungkook.

"I'll give you 15 percent discount for this purchase," she says.

"Oh, that's totally not necessary-" you start, but you get cut off by her.

"It's fine! You're such a cute couple with an adorable baby girl. There's no way I'm letting you pay the full price."

Jungkook interwines your fingers with his. "We appreciate it."

You have to stop yourself from rolling your eyes at the stupid smile he gives the employee.

"You did this on purpose," you accuse Jungkook as you both walk out of the baby boutique. "You knew she'd give us some discount if she thought we were a cute couple with an even cuter baby."

"So? I just saved a lot of money," he shrugs.

"You're insufferable."

"We're going to the bookstore now," Jungkook says.

"Oh? Are we?"

He nods. "You can pick out a book and then we can go eat some dinner."

"Let's make it two books."

"Fine."

You smile, hugging his arm. "You know, let me rephrase what I said earlier. You're not insufferable. You're the sweetest and I love being with you and you're the kindest person ever."

"You're gonna keep saying things like if I buy you three books?"

Without missing a beat, you immediately start to shower him with more compliments. "You're the nicest and loveliest person to ever exist and I love you so so so much-"

The six-year-old tugs on his coat, struggling to connect the zipper. You rush over to your son to help him.

“Are you excited?” You ask.

Daesung nods emphatically. He has been patiently waiting for the day he got to see his best friend dance in her first recital. There was non-stop talk about it for the past few months as Jiyun told your son about her dance.

“Yeah. She told me her dress is really sparkly, so she will look like a star!”

“Ooo, that sounds cool.”

You pat his head lightly once you are finished zipping up his coat. He gives you a wide smile, thanking you for the help. Quickly, you grab your purse and his hand, and head out the door. Daesung has a bounce in his step as you make your way to the warming car. You chuckle lightly at his excitement, feeling it yourself at the thought of seeing your own best friend. You open the car door for him and he climbs into his carseat without issue. Closing the door, you make your way to the driver’s seat and settle yourself into the vehicle.

Okay, so maybe you’re lonely, and maybe there is something missing in your life, a void that you maybe want to fill with a companion that may or may not be of human origin… You’re perfectly content not doing anything about it though, until your best friend calls you in desperate need for your help and you suddenly end up coming home with not one, but two hybrids that may or may not have been on the way to the chopping block had you not taken them in. They’re more than a little rough around the edges, and the situation is less than ideal but… maybe the best things don’t always come in perfect, shiny packages. Maybe they just need a little time to bloom.

It seems that for all your many efforts over the weeks in reassuring the two hybrids that they’re wanted by you and that they can settle down and make this their home, it doesn’t really sink in until after the night you let them scent you.

Which, of course, makes sense considering that was what was making them unsettled in the first place. You knew that letting them do that would return their behaviour to normal, but you weren’t expecting that in the process it would also do a complete one-eighty.

It’s like a switch has been flipped.

The first thing you notice, is that when you all head to bed and you enter your room, closing the door behind you, they seem to hover outside of it for a moment before continuing to their own room. Now, the old you would be thinking why? But! This is the new you, the new-and-improved y/n who knows how to use google when she should! And since you’ve been referring to google and the more trustworthy sites you’ve found, you know that they’re probably battling the urge to be closer to you.

What you mean by that, is that you read that more often than not hybrids prefer to be as close to their owners as possible at all times—and this can also mean that they want to sleep in the same room. It soothes an instinctual part of them, apparently. You can understand it, plus, if you’re being honest…. You’re not as opposed as you should be.

The idea of getting to cuddle with them while you sleep makes you feel warm and gooey inside, but the thing is that after the way things were hinted to be going the other night… you kind of have to chase off more than inappropriate thoughts every time you think about it. You can’t help it! They’re both handsome, sweet boys, and—

You’re gonna stop yourself there.

“I’m home!”

You call out as soon as you enter through the door, an unnecessary act considering they could probably hear you all the way down the street if they really tried. Still, it’s habit. You used to yell it even when no one was here, because it made you feel less lonely. Kind of sad, now you think about it. You hum, reaching the bench and placing your things down on top of the counter.

You’re startled into yelping when thick arms slip around your waist, heat pressing against your back and a face mushing into your neck. The lack of whining tells you it’s Taehyung that has reached you first today, eager to cuddle close until every trace of any other hybrid’s scent is gone. They’ve taken to doing this every time you get home—at first you wanted to protest, since they barely let you get five steps through the door before accosting you, but after seeing how pleased and content they look after, you couldn’t be mad at them for it even if you wanted to.

“Tae,” you hum, reaching up to run your fingers through his hair; your nails run against the back of his ear by accident and something akin to a purr thrums through his chest. He presses his lips to the junction of your neck before nipping it lightly in greeting, arms tightening around your waist fractionally. “I missed you too.”
