sero would find you at 11:10pm the night before your exams, asleep on the cold marble counter in the kitchen of the dorms where you were studying. instead of leaving you there or waking you up, he carefully picks you up, kola style, and brings you to your bed, then goes back to pack all your things back into your school bag. he visits you one last time in your room. he says it's to make sure you didn't wake up confused within that 10 minutes, but actually it's so he can slip into bed with you. he knows it's against the schools rules to have sleepovers in the dorm on school nights especially after 8pm, but when you gravitate towards his body on that cold november night, wrapping your arms around his slim frame, it's worth the possible weeks detention.

Sometimes, Yamaguchi needs to pinch himself to make sure everything is real- even after a month of dating you. He’s always been super insecure, especially since usually all the cute girls who approach him would just ask about Tsukishima.

So when you approached him one day, he was expecting the same thing. But instead he got an cute envelope with a heart sticker adorned on it.

“Oh, Tsukki is on his way here if you want to give it to him in person y’now?” he says, awkwardly laughing.

“Give me what?” the tall beanpole arrived, and looked at you with a raised eyebrow. You hand Tsukishima the envelope, and you can see Tadashi sigh- he’s used to this but it doesn’t hurt any less.

“Tsukishima, can you give this envelope to Tadashi please?” you ask, smiling at the boys before heading to class.

Tadashi tore open the letter and read it. And again. It was a confession letter- from you.

Gossip spread like wildfire that day.

“I heard Y/n wrote a confession letter for Yamaguchi today!!”

“It’s true I was there”

“She’s so cute- Yamaguchi is so lucky”

It didn’t take long for him to find you later that day and accept your confession. And thus, you two started dating.

One day when the two of you were walking home, he kept gazing at you, which made you all flushed and nervous.

“Do I have something on my face?” you asked all of a sudden.

“Hm? No you don’t” he blinks at you, not knowing why you had asked that.

“Well then, why do you keep staring at me?!”

Now it was his turn to get nervous, “I dunno- I feel like I’m still so lucky to be dating you” he chuckled quietly.

As if he couldn’t get any cuter- he says something like this? He doesn’t even realize how adorable he is you might just implode.

When you came to surprise him during the Interhigh Prelims, it didn’t take long for some of the other volleyball teams to flock around you. But as soon as Yamaguchi caught sight of a bunch of guys flirting with you and asking you for your number- his heart sank.

Yamaguchi didn’t know what to do- he wasn’t the most confrontational person, and he always felt a little insecure because he felt like he wasn't in your league. He trusted you completely still- but that doesn’t shake off how uncomfortable it is when other guys are heavy with their flirting.

Trying to be polite, you scan your eyes around the lobby of the gym. As soon as you lock eyes with your boyfriend, a wave of relief hits you and you excuse yourself to run to him. The other volleyball players watch in shock as you practically leap into Yamaguchi’s arms.

You plaster his face in kisses, “Hi!! Good luck today Tadashi!!”

“Hey Y/n, that was sweet and all, but please not in front of the children” Sugawara jokes, trying to cover Hinata’s and Kageyama’s eyes.

You take a step back from your boyfriend to show off your outfit- specifically the fact that you’re wearing his jersey. And!! he!! was!! so!! happy!! Seeing you like this, supportive for only him gives him a little sense of security- something that he never really thought he’d have.

Yamaguchi pulls you into another hug and buries his face into your shoulder- ignoring the stares from all the other players in the lobby.

“I am.. so lucky” he mutters, hugging you tighter.

Honestly Sero is such a good character I really wish they had done more with him.

It makes me so happy when I see the fandom appreciating and loving him <3
