I suddenly realized that Shigaraki's itch was a reaction to a quirk. All-for-One gave him back someone else's quirk, not the original one. And his body was rejecting her with an allergic reaction. Just like Aoyama's stomach hurts after using it, or Midoriya's fractures. The body is not quite adapted and lets you know about it.

The same itch had when he hwas a kid. Then it turned into an unpleasant stressfulhabit.

not to spread my babygirl Dabi propaganda but with lesbian Shigadabi, realistically Dabi would be much shorter than Tomura. Nana was super tall, and Kotaro was pretty tall as well. Rei on the other hand is tiny and Fuyumi is almost two heads shorter than both of her brothers. with those genes fem Dabi would be very visibly shorter than her leader and very visibly indignant about the fact.
