Oooh, You Got Me Thinking About The Dissonance That Archivist!Viktor Would Experience When After Becoming

Oooh, you got me thinking about the dissonance that Archivist!Viktor would experience when after becoming an avatar he starts to feel better, feeling his disabilities become more tolerable to handle but simultaneously knowing why it happens. With every relief from his imperfections he gets — the more his humanity is slipping away from him.

Like with that headcannon that Jon eventually stopped needing glasses and his dilemma in season 5 how what happens is terrible but as an avatar of the beholding he can't not enjoy it

Also how Viktor fed the arcane with his blood Jon fed the eye with statements. Again both just trying to stay alive and both becoming even more dependent on this higher power that has chosen them

I want an Acarne Magnus archive au but I don't know who will Jon's role more Jayce or Viktor

I can see Caitlyn in Melanie's role and Vi in Tim's

I do think the explosion that killed Vander would have been a ritual for the stranger or some other fear but in the end powder becomes an avatar after it and goes by jinx

(or maybe they would fit better in the Magnus protocol world, idk)

anyone have other ideas for the au

A short list of things I think everyone should try or do at least once in their life that will make you feel more alive. Not all of these are applicable to every person, but it’s a summary:

Take a dance class of any style with a semi-serious instructor for at least 4 classes worth

Write a work of fiction, of *any* length and *any* quality

Learn a least a bit of a language that isn’t your native one. You don’t need to become anywhere near fluent, but try and get a bit beyond yes, no, and where’s the bathroom. If you’re from a country where most people are bilingual already, that doesn’t count! Get bits of a language with which you are truly unfamiliar.

In the same vein, make peace with subtitles and start consuming music, TV and movies from cultures that aren’t your own. If your country imports large amounts of media from a specific other culture or cultures (American movies in foreign markets, for example) that also doesn’t count! Get some feelers out to begin to take in content from a culture that you don’t already have a lot of knowledge of.

Try at least one less common/less “exercisey” and more fun type of physical exercise such as roller blading or roller or ice skating, gymnastics, trampoline, rock climbing, aerial silks, pole dancing, surfing, etc

Learn a hobby or craft that produces a physical finished product and produce a single, complete object - regardless of quality - that you can hold in your hands and say that you made.

Look up a how it’s made video or YouTube video on how an item that’s interesting or relevant to you is made

Give one type of thing - media, hobby, sport, whatever - that you’ve never been interested in or never tried because of some preconceived perception an honest shot and see if your perception was correct. Sometimes it won’t be, sometimes it will be, but it’s valuable to know.

Rearrange the furniture in a room in your home

It’s about NOVELTY, babey! Get some enrichment into your enclosure!

When can I start taking about the genuine rise of illiteracy going on in the U.S. without being called ableist? Because I'm not talking about people whose first language isn't english or about people with actual disorders, diagnosed or not.

I'm talking about the fact that several of my professors don't know where to put commas, apostrophes, and are spelling words wrong that they DEFINITELY should be getting right in their position. I'm talking about the fact that a lot of grown adults don't know the difference between your/you're, it's/its or there/their/they're. I'm talking about this weird rise of people interchangeably using woman/women??

Mistakes are mistakes. I make mistakes CONSTANTLY. Does it crush my soul when I mix up your/you're? God, yes 😭.

So I'm not talking about mistakes. I'm talking about "they never taught us that" mfs. I'm talking about "whatever it's the same thing" mfs.

I swear I don't want this to come off rude or mean but I just notice it more and more?

[on the verge of having a complete breakdown] i need to make some kind of list or perhaps sort things into categories

a gentle fact about this world is that people will want to help you. a cruel fact about it is that you do have to put on your big boy pants and open their contact on your phone and say some human words to ask them for it

I PUT THEM INTO A COMPUTER
I PUT THEM INTO A COMPUTER

I PUT THEM INTO A COMPUTER

A few months ago I started making these shimeji because I didnt find any already existing ones on the internet. Then I forgot about them for a while. BUT after listening to TMP I decided that it would be funny to finally finish them so BEHOLD. THEY ARE IN A PUTER NOW >:D

If you wanna try them you can download here on google drive

(If you don’t know how to use them, there is a small tutorial in comments)

Workin' Girls

The thing is, I really don’t think Workin’ Girls really was just a shameless gender swap. It seems to genuinely be the better version of the story. Like, the way Hidgens changed the character names and pronouns (and added “but-for-girls” onto the end of every “football”) while preserving everything else took Workin’ Boys from a bad show with an admittedly great score to a hilarious and pointedly satirical work about the devaluation of femininity in the workplace and financial industry. The Workin’ Girls succeed in business because they behave like stereotypically masculine men. They are women making their way through life (as much as they’d rather just be on their football-but-for-girls field), and their whole big song about what it takes to do so is steeped in phrases that are historically male-aligned (of course, not all men have balls and some or all of the Workin' Girls could actually have balls! We don't know!). Hidgens accidentally created a comedic masterpiece about the plight of women in the workplace and, in a breathtakingly in-character move, simply failed to realize it.

(EDIT AND UPDATE: Yes, and as @yakitori-queen just said in the replies, not to mention all the great gender fuckery!)

eventually you realize you don’t want to die. you just don’t want to live the life you’re living. and slowly you try to create a life you want to live. just gotta start there.
