libfems be like: FUCK religion. it is OPPRESSIVE. it HARMS WOMEN. it's NONSENSICAL. how could you believe in your SKY DADDY. ANYONE who believes in religion is stupid and not worth the conversation!

... but not that one. that one's fine! listen to the people who practice it!! (in a conveniently western and privileged area) it's okay when they say women is property because it's cultural.

i just got a call from my sis. She said morality police riding on motorcycles attacked her on the street and forced her into a van and kept her at a police station for hours and let her go just now. Her voice was quivering and she was shaken. Told me to be careful today on the streets. Said to wear something on my head so they won’t attack me as well. I am furious at how easily this fuckedup religion and this fuckedup regime reduce us into a quivering mess. Mere objects that they can so easily control and subdue. How we go from someone with a job and a life and family to a criminal they can attack and abuse and imprison. This is the true face of Islam. Not the pretty, cutesy one they show you in the west and you all fall for it. But this brutal, barbaric treatment of women who refuse to comply. It’s in the very text of quran. Please stop covering up the ugliness of organized religions and our daily suffering just to be ‘cool’ and liberal and polite. It’s always better to be informed and ‘smart’.

Even if transgender people were all just delusional and mentally ill people who refused to accept scientific reality, they'd still deserve to be 100% accepted.

God isn't a scientific reality, but people who believe in God are accepted. They're even allowed to force their beliefs on children. Many even use their God as an excuse to hate. They frequently teach children that anyone who doesn't worship them goes to hell. Religious people are also regularly caught sexually abusing children.

Meanwhile, transgender people just want to exist and not be bullied for it. If you can accept religious people whose beliefs are much more farfetched, then you can easily accept transgender people. You're choosing not to.

My least favorite kind of reply to posts with valid criticism of organized religion is "Don't say "religion" when you mean Christianity!!" like...
