if you're scrolling tumblr right now because you're struggling to complete a project or assignment, take a moment to do the following:
get up and grab a resealable plastic (ziploc) bag
fill it with warm water from the sink
it will probably be somewhat difficult to fill it with warm water from the sink. youre taking a break. don't worry about it. trying to fill up the plastic bag full of warm water even though it's silly and slippery and soaks your hands. it's part of the fun
when it's full, go show someone. tell them you filled a bag with water. when they touch it, they won't expect it to be warm, and they'll tell you "ooh, it's warm!" you know this though. it's a little surprise for them
enjoy the warm water bag with them. it's fun. it probably won't spill if you sealed it well. hold it with your hands. press it against your face-- it's relaxing. jiggle it around a little bit. feel the nice, plasticky-warm texture. it's the warm water bag. it's the bag filled with water and it's fun
when you're done, take a pin or other sharp object (a pen works, but pins are best!) and bring the bag back to the sink. poke a hole in the bag with the pin. the water probably won't come out very fast. poke more if you'd like. maybe try dragging the pin across the bag and see if you can make a cut. poke many holes in it. it's fun!
throw the bag away when you're done. youve just relaxed with the bag of warm water
congratulations! try to go do your project again and you might find it easier. and if not, you've made a few water-bag based memories, or at least had a laugh or two :)
Shrödinger’s juice, if you will
Me: “The food webs we try to teach children and the public are too simple to get the point across. Why do they never bother to show the more intricate relationships between specific species? It can’t be that hard to represent with basic teaching tools... I’ll make the thing!”
The thing:
Me: “....I get it now.”
I'm beginning to realize why I like the book reading emote so much: It's what I'd call a good "waiting room" emote. Prior to the Season of Moomin starting, the boogie, levitation, or headbang emote were among my most used emotes because I'd use them while waiting for something (Geyser, Grandma, etc.) The book reading emote fills this niche perfectly. It's as close as we can get to having your skykid scrolling on a phone.
I like this emote and this particular use case so much that I'm considering bringing a stool where ever I go so my skykid doesn't have to sit on the floor.
youtube should give viewers the option to grade video essays like it's a high school english class assignment and if the median grade is below passing then they stick a huge png over your video advising that this is a vlog with slide show components. if the youtuber ever goes "umm. I'm not going to attempt to pronounce this" at any point then they're genetically altered to be able to survive underground and let loose in an endless series of catacombs built beneath their home to live the rest of their life as the fabled town troll.
i literally love when people realize positive reinforcement works like yes its so silly isnt it. but it literally works humans love juice reward too
I was a dreams moth! Back then the seasons were much more obvious due to how small the maps were, which made it very easy for me to find. I was able to find and complete some of the quests even before I’d made it through to the end of valley/wasteland with the help of a friend. Of course I locked myself out of the area and failed the challenges numerous times, but that’s beside the point.
Hey I'm curious. Did anyone not get any cosmetics during their starter season because they didn't understand the game?
Bonus: Reblog and tell me the season that you got sky during, helps with the sample size.
My story/ramble under the cut
I'm a passage moth, but...... I had absolutely no idea there were cosmetics or even seasons when I started last year. I played up through forest and stopped at Valley, as I just didn't get what I was doing. So... result is i have nothing from my starting season.
