the future should be plural
children should not be abused to the point of their brains physically altering itself and shattering itself to protect itself. Children should not have trauma. Children should not have to go through this. When we say the future is plural it means having a society that supports plural folks and works to make sure people have spaces to heal from trauma. No one is obsessed with traumatizing children to make new systems. Anyone who thinks that doesn't think very highly of children. Just no.
REBLOG IF YOU LOVE YOUR HEADMATES!!!!
Headmates: solid 8/10, clearly a system term though
The Others: 7/10 kinda mysterious, not much pizazz
Family: 9/10 yeah replace those sorry ass relatives of yours!
Brothers/ Sisters: 8/10 personally I like calling them my brothers and sister, but tbh kinda sounds like catholic priests/ nuns. -2 points
Roommates: 9/10 Basic like headmates, but phrased in a way singlets understand
Friends: 10/10 Wholesome, although I am definitely not friends with everyone in here
The Voices: 3/10 People gonna absolutely think you're crazy
Greek Chorus: 5/10 It's funny when someone actually knows what you're referring to
Peanut Gallery: 7/10 Similar concept to the above, only more understood by the average person
Backseat Drivers: 9/10 The most correct one on the list, especially said with just a touch of contempt. Might make someone upset
The Collective: 8/10 very ominous, better when talking about the system as a whole singular unit
Comrades: 10/10 Like friends, but commier! Perfect!
Coworkers: 10/10 very accurate representation of how it actually works in here
The Council: 9/10 The Council has decided that it's really entertaining to refer to ourselves like that
Chat: -10/-10 How is it so perfect, yet so awful, yet so awfully perfect?
We are the Dunedain, the rangers, the guardians
General about the system (though we use the term crew these days):
We’re queer. The most common pronoun set in our system is he/him. The only person I know who gets bothered by he/him pronouns is a little who isn’t allowed on this account without supervision. This is an endo safe account.
The earliest memory we have of a headmate was when the body was nine (the body is now in its early twenties). We have trauma but we’re not sure if we’re traumagetic or not. There’s like, fourteen of us with simply plural accounts? I know there Are more but I don’t know much about them.
Bodily we’re in our early twenties but there’s a big range between individual crew members.
Captain (alternate title for host) and Council Leader: Jay (he/him)
I was dragged kicking and screaming into being plural, but I’ve realized that every time I flip out and suppress it doing so harms me and everyone else, so I’m trying not to do that. It’s harder sometimes than others but my mental health is so much better when I’m calm about things. I tend to be front stuck and it’s hard to tell if I have amnesia or if the blanks in my day are just adhd.
I don’t like dealing with syscourse, I stay away from it and will block people who harass us because it’s really unhelpful to us.
First Mate and Other Council Leader: Shekel (he/him)
(Still Jay typing) I’ll have him fill out a bio at some point, but for now I’ll just say that he’s one of our most common fronters, identifies as alterhuman, is a protector, and is the most helpful and wonderful joint-council leader I could have asked for. <3
Ex-persecutor: Travis (he/him)
I wasn't going to mention him by name, but he wrote himself a bio, so I figured I'd link that here. In fact, he might be writing this right here. No one will ever know for certain >:)))
Others:
We have formally instated a Council of Nine (yes it started as a silly joke, but actually it’s gonna be helpful).
It includes:
Jay, Shekel, Travis, an age-slider, a caretaker, a little, our longest present headmate, our most extroverted member, and the closest thing we have to a gatekeeper (we think. Their role is still a bit uncertain).
Important decisions need to be made by at least a few council members, and communications on here are unlikely to involve headmates that aren’t on the council.
Plural tip for systems that track fronts; be lenient on tracking who may be active. Like, this is your brain, not the tax office. You don't have to perform a bunch of extremely specific checks just to make sure a headmate is truly active; you can just acknowledge their presence in whatever form that may take. Trust that they'll talk to you if they want something, and just let yourselves be. Even if they don't do anything, it still gives them history. Your headmates will appreciate having a place in your system's history, even if they don't remember exactly what they did or said in every single instance.
And even your front history isn't entirely accurate? They'll likely still appreciate that you think about them.
Luckily, I only know of one headmate who identifies as female (I the host am transmasc, physically transitioning the body), and unfortunately I don’t have good enough communication with her to really know how she feels about things, but the nonbinary ones I know of are chill with the body regardless of gender, though they like to present their own ways. Some of the other guys in here and I get really dysphoric, so I think transitioning was definitely the right choice, but to a point none of us will feel 100% comfortable, so it’s just something we have to live with (I feel so bad for the nonhumans, they get super dysphoric about being the wrong species, and it’s rough on our littlest one to be in a grown-up body). I don’t really have answers, but imo it’s a process and you’ll be able to figure out what works for you and your system in time <3
DID is fucking with my gender rlly bad and my friend said I should reach out so. Trans systems with complicated genders reblog so I know ur out there???
I would love to hear ur experiences bc I’m getting my ass kicked by gender
I wanted to maladaptive daydream, but instead our littlest is co-con so I guess I’m just gonna hang out as it cracks up listening to Raffi songs. It’s alright. Apples and Bananas does go pretty hard.
Some types of switching for us
Not super active because plural communities intimidate me (the host, Jay) but trying to be more open so I don’t suppress things Again. No clue how my system formed, but I’m definitely endo supportive.
