Long story short, I have a talented friend whose superpower is to create awesome action/adventure storylines that can easily be translated into a game plot or miniseries, and they never cease to amaze and inspire me. Much to my chagrin, they rarely post, so I can't give you a link to the story, but I can show a bunch of concepts I did based on my friend's fanfiction. "After wreaking havoc on Eggman's ship, the hedgehogs teleport away from the explosion. Chaos Control goes awry, and two hapless heroes find themselves in the depths of the mountains. To get back to the surface, they will have to work together, whether they like it or not."

Thinking back on this post and learning more and more about the production of Halo 4 and 5 I can't help but feel frustration at the direction the series went. 343 as a development studio never seemed to fully come together behind the scenes. The studio that made Halo 4, 5, and Infinite really feels like 3 separate entities.
Its hard to pin a specific blame. Microsoft's history of poor choices in managing studios, poor leadership at 343, no consistant vision, or hell maybe just a few plain old bad ideas.
Idk, I am not a developer nor was I there when these things happened. But what I can say is that the state of Halo makes me sad.
For the past decade its really felt like its been 343 trying their hardest to succeed against all odds. So it hurts seeing them come so close to greatness only to fall short or in some cases drop the ball super hard.
Halo 4 is probably the piece of media that I have the biggest love/hate relationship with.
It feels so close to being something great but doesn't quite hit the mark.
Not to mention how its a game that was the start of a storyline/trilogy that didn't really go anywhere, leaving the feeling that it was the start of something special that never got a proper follow up

I know it’s not hard to point out reactionaries hypocrisy when it comes to like safe spaces or hug boxes or whatever but genuinely how much of an echo chamber do you have to exist in for you to think this is a reasonable thing to say

Somewhere out there, there is a mock-Jar Jar Binks puppet sitting in a Lucasfilm warehouse.
It must be set free.
You ever just listen to a piece of music from something you've never actually watched and now its stuck in your head playing on repeat?
Thats me right now with the Babylon 5 theme from the 5th season
There is a lot I could say right now. I want to be angry and yell at the high heavens. But I doubt that will do much good.
This race is all but decided it seems. And it doesn't look good. I could go into detail about the dangers we now face, but you've all heard it.
I am angry, scared, and tired. And I doubt tomorrow will be much better. It is more important now than ever that we make our voices heard. That we stand tall against the bigotry, hatred, and injustice we may face.
In the immortal words of one Ambassador G'Kar-
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against that power governments, and tyrants, and armies can not stand.
Remember that, remember to stand up against those who would see such liberties taken away, and remember that only you have the choice to stand for what is right.
We are all so fucked
You can literally make anything and anyone problematic if you try hard enough seriously give me people and things and I’ll make them all “problematic” right now.
I think the main issue that I am trying to get at is how the original Halo series had one of the strongest development teams working at the time, whereas 343 never even had the chance for its team to fully grow, evolve, and iterate upon itself.
Halo 4 is probably the piece of media that I have the biggest love/hate relationship with.
