Remember this mackerel Jr dazai swore he hated? Turns out when dazai crashes at chuuyas (which happens often) they are pretty good nap buddies, but not like he’d ever admit it

The various designs of the mythological monsters and titans.

The diverse faces and body types of all the minor characters.

It’s a very visually engaging movie.

Dazai says to Mori that he was afraid Dazai would kill him and take his place just like he did to his predecessor.

Because evil expects evil.

And I wonder if that same line of thinking is why Dazai’s able to fool and outsmart Fyodor.

Because Fyodor expects Dazai to act in the same manner as him. He expects Dazai to play his game as Fyodor would.

And Dazai plays into that but it’s only on the surface.

Mori didn’t expect Dazai to leave because of Odasuku. Fyodor didn’t expect Dazai and Chuuya to be working together.

A bond they believed to be shallow turned out to be the driving force for all Dazai’s actions.

Everything Dazai does is in service to help his friends, to help the Agency. He knows how to play the role his enemies expect of him.

And every time he proves that they’re not the same.

Interesting to note too is that both Mori and Fyodor have been referred too as a Demons while Dazai’s always been the Demon Prodigy.
