for all the artist following me

Have two sketchbooks: One for finished and high-quality art (stuff made with Prismacolor or Copic if you use that or art for your portfolio) and the other sketchbook for more messy doodles. This way you have a place to try new things and mess up as much as you need. When I only had one sketchbook I was scared to draw in it because I didn't want to mess it up

Do studies. I cant tell you how much I've improved just by doing studies of shoes, hands, noses, and all that. This works for when you have art block too since you’re not really making stuff up and just learning how real things work.

Learn from others. I’ve never taken a real art class because 1. I can’t afford it and 2. there’s no good art classes/programs at my school. I’ve been following several artists and learning from them over the years and they’ve helped me tremendously. Just please do not steal art because that is never okay.

Break down concepts. If you notice there’s something wrong with your piece then figure out why. You can’t get better if you leave mistakes and don't try to understand whats going on. If the color is weird figure out if the values look right or maybe its the saturation of the color.

Watch youtube tutorials. Here are some youtubers I think are pretty good art teaching all things art: Draw with Jazza |  DrawingWiffWaffles |  Proko |  Baylee Jae

Have an inspiration folder/blog. Sometimes you just need a collection of starry nights or a misty forest or even a French bakery. All of those things can help you get inspired to draw. It could even be completely unrelated to what you plan to draw.

There are no dumb ideas in the creative process. If you want to draw a lizard in a dress go for it! If you want to draw various pastries with faces do it! Don’t let the thought of it being too dumb stop you because if I’ve learned anything in my several years of drawing it’s that an idea can lead to another and another and another and you may get a really good idea just from doodling dumb things.

Here’s a few things that can get you started on drawing better:

Most importantly, don’t give up! You may not immediately get notes or followers but it’s more important you get better than to have popularity. How do you think those popular artists got to where they are now? To be good you’ve got to work at it.

So first day in figure drawing class, I’d say I’m doing rather well.

Teacher: ok you have 20 minutes to draw what you see. Can’t wait to see what you guys come up with 

My brain: ok simple enough human just two models doing an anime pose-

Me: *does one paint stroke*

Brain: OH! SHINY! LOOK AT THOSE REFLECTIONS!!!!! Very very pretty lady.

Me: * Does a paint stroke too far* oh cr-

Brain: ANGEL!

me: What?

Brain: Angel feather, very pretty lady, do more! Oh, oh, oh! Biblically accurate angle!!!! Yessss! Eyes! Add da eyes! 

Me: Q^Q w-wha pls i just want to add a bit of detail! Pls! 🥲

Brain: But it could be like this.

Me:.....

Brain:.....

Me: your not wrong.

*two minutes later*

Teacher: ok we’re done let’s see what this talented bunch has come up with 

Me: *looks at what I’ve done* DAMMIT I DID IT AGAIN! Brain: heheheh~ Me: YOU!!!!

Sooooo.....I finally finished it! Jeez this took longer than expected, sorry for the *checks how long ago was the last fanart* oof ok ya that ones on me 😅. but hey finally felt the right emotion to fit perfectly for Henry to put to paper. The poem is daydream written by Amy vanderwater and it just felt fitting to me for Henry‘s personality. I also changed the style a bit to fit his personality to compare and contrast with the one I made for victor. for another pice of fanart that’s in the back burner for now. some totally legal anime sites for you.. if the site you use ever kicks the bucket try one of these

9anime - minimal weird ads if you have no adblocker and they have everything im pretty sure (including the weird spinoff movies to things that you have a hard time finding)

4anime - 9anime little sister! more weird ads than 9anime but same selection so if one goes down somehow try the other

twist.moe - sometimes this site has buffering problems (they usually have super high quality) and some weird ads overall good

gogoanime - the classic we all hate .. so many ads without adblocker and also the site is laggy very often but we all have to experience gogoanime at some point (gogoanime is 100 percent legal so if this link is ever mysteriously broken just google gogoanime there will be like 4 other links at the top results)

123anime - i havent used this one myself but it looks pretty much identical to 9anime. a couple ads but easy to avoid with adblocker

kissanime - gogoanime double , has everything including the weird spinoffs

bonus: manga sites

mangadex - the best one imo if you want a specific manga they probably have it translated

mangago - infested with yaoi (seriously. dont go to this site without preparing yourself first it is everywhere) but they have everything and you can browse

kissmanga - kissanime but manga. yeah

but op i dont have an adblocker...what do i do about the ads?

adguard adblocker - free and also the one i use they have an app (for android too)

Finally finished the first peace of fanart for the amazing @brightgoat’s Frankenstein au after who knows how long. Now time to start on the next one. Z E R O G R A V I T Y pretty self explanatory except she isn’t effected by it and can walk normaly while everyone else is floating in the air. I’m not really sure what To call this little guy. There about the size of a hamster but can be as big as a teacup dog or small dog. They tend to just fly about in the nighttime there luminous wings and eyes helping them to see in the dark. They only eat fruits, nuts and berries, rarely insects though because it doesn’t replenish there energy nearly enough as fruits, nuts and berries. mostly because it’s hard for there bodies to get the energy and nutrients that’s in the insects, and it’s hard to digest them. But for when they do hunt for them they use there ears to listen for any bugs nearby, there ears are very sensitive but they have learned to somehow change how sensitive there ears are to sound. I might possibly make this an official spicies. It just depends on how many people like my idea. So we’ll see.
