I decided to redesign Cosmia! Not that her first design wasn’t good; I just wanted to see if it could be improved! What do you think? 😄💖

Anyways, I really enjoy how this came out. Didn’t know what I was doing in the first half but we got there!

Anyways this is my blue alien elf, Cielan. You know em you love em. They’re pretty darn cool and they were the first one I made out of the current four lol

Image one has delicate lineart that while it shows varying degrees of pressure, the characters are overlapped in a way where they are too homogenous. My solution to this issue is to clearly define each character with a uniform outline running along the very outside edge of the character while adjusting inner outlines as needed to unify the appearance of the outlines overall.

If you are using color to complete your image, image one is fine enough for that because the colors will make the characters stand out as long as the palettes are different enough. However when we are working in screentones / monochrome, a thicker outline provides more clarity amongst the dots and lines.

It's officially Xoinu's 12th birthday!

I hope someday if my comic blows up people will love him and enjoy him, but nobody will ever love him like I love him.

It's funny, he's always just.. been there.

He's one of my characters yeah, and he isn't real.. but he's kind of like a long time friend of mine.

We grew up together in a way.

I remember when I made him, he was 16 in my imagination and I was 14 irl. Now he is perpetually 23, and I continue to get older.

I have so many feelings about him and how much he means to me. He will always have so much space in my heart.

A friend, a reflection of me and my growth, and the reason why l've become a comic artist. He is all of these things and more, and I love him dearly.

So Phil from Animal Crossing has four other siblings according to the wiki. Back sometime in 2023 or 2024 I was trying to come up with designs for his siblings' human versions and I only got around to one of them. I was going to make a whole comic about Phil and my character / town; But in order to prioritize JFA (My original comic / magnum opus) I gave up on the project. Here's the pic of his bro and the logo I was making!

I named his brother Falco. He was gonna be sporty and stuff- and he was going to be Phil's only brother.

Very Little Mac coded lol. (We love a short king boxing boy.)
