The hypnagogic state : how to reach it.
The hypnagogic state is a state where we naturally go into before sleeping, a sweet spot moment before sleeping and still being awake, a state where it is so powerful to be able to shift, get in the void, or basically do anything.
Now it requires NOTHING, it only requires one small thing that might sound tricky.
Staying awake long enough for it to come by on it's own, and actually on average it takes 10-5 mins from each person to enter it aware.
Lay flat on your back (not needed, but many results come from laying on the back)
Do. Not. Care, just go with what you usually do to fall asleep, but one thing? You're not falling asleep, you're watching your body fall asleep, that sweet spot where your body is about to fall asleep? That's hypnagogia
Actually don't move, it may give your mind signs you're still not sleeping, now just lay there and try not to sleep while focusing on the blackness behind your eyelids.
You will start seeing flashing images or swirly things or even just flashing lights and imagery, this is the hypnagogia and you managed to reach it in just 10 mins of pretending to be asleep (acc it takes me 4)
Bam, that's the sweet spot, now affirm slowly for the void, or just sense your surroundings for shifting or maybe you can try your shifting method here! This state cannot argue back, you'll be immediately shifting in no time, and slipping in the void is so easy from it.
So really the whole steps is just "lay down, don't move, watch your eyelids, color seen? Hypnagogia reached, method or void procedure done, bam."
I managed to find a post on Reddit on how to keep your body awake, you can try 2 or 3 of them to keep yourself entertained, FULL CREDITS TO THE ONE WHO POSTED IT ON REDDIT (calaie_iscoolio):
"1. Looking in the darkness behind your eyelids
Basically what it says, when you close your eyes, just focus on the darkness until hypnagogic imagery begins to happen i.e. colors, shapes, literally anything that will show. When images begin to show up, do not interact or acknowledge what you are seeing, you can look at it, but don't try to control it and just let the images flow until you feel that the state is induced enough to where it won't disappear because you are "too" awake/aware.
2. "Forearm Up" Method
Another technique that basically helps with people who tend to fall asleep to quickly, basically lay down on your back like usual, lift your hand up in the air where your elbow is resting on your mattress, keep it there and as it slowly falls down that's where you'll begin to fall asleep, it'll drop and basically awake you back up.
I had also seen a shifter mention that they prefer to lay on their stomach and lifting their foot up in the air and basically do the same thing. This technique basically just wakes you back up.
3. Thomas Edison Method
Very similar to the "Forearm Up" Method, basically what Edison had done was he had held a steel ball in his hand, and when he began to fall asleep, the ball will drop and alert Edison awake, another technique to help with people to struggle to stay awake.
4. Imagine Constant Motion
Basically imagining something whether that be an animal or an object constantly moving like a horse galloping, a dogs tail wagging side to side, etc. (Pretty simple, for people who find it much easier to visualize).
5. Tire your body through out the day
During the day, you could do any tasks that would just tire your body out that leads up to your attempt to induce the state, it'll make it much easier for you to get into the state and induce it since your body is already tired enough to relax.
6. Repeating "hypnagogia"
This will mean you have you just repeat the words "hypnagogia" to yourself till you get tired enough and then hypnagogic imagery will eventually appear.
7. Counting
Basically just like regular shifting methods, you could focus on counting up to how much you want to until you begin to get the hypnagogic hallucinations, to keep yourself from falling asleep you could give yourself simple math questions just so it's enough to focus to answer it.
8. Imagining Randomness
Imagine literally anything that isn't related at all, i.e. horse, roof, apple, pen, desk, etc. Visualize and filter through random objects or animals that have no correlation and that will induce the hypnagogic imagery, randomness is key.
9. Focus on breathing
Similar to any shifting method, basically focusing on your breaths is another technique to induce the state. Literally just anything to keep your awareness occupied rather than letting your mind just shut down to go to sleep.
10. Sounds
Listening to anything in your environment, whether that be things happening outside, if it's raining listen to the rain, or if you've got headphones on listen to the music and focus that, keep your focus on the music so you don't fall asleep.
11. "Playing" a song in your head
Not necessarily listening to the song, but imagining the song playing in your head, whether that be your favorite song, if you know how it sounds like, imagine it playing and once you've entered the state, it will naturally play and you'll end up actually hearing the song.
12. Heartbeat
Basically just focus on your heartbeat. Listen to the amount of beats.
These are all the various of techniques you could use, you don't have to stick to one and can basicaally try them out, see which one you feel like works for you and go from there. A tip is also you could pick like 4 or 5 out of these 12 and just filter through the techniques if you can't just stick to one since you get uninterested quickly. (I get bored easily, do I normally do 8, 9, 7 and 4 just so I don't lose interest.)"

Shifting is essentially a conscious transition between mental states—akin to deep meditation, lucid dreaming, or self-induced dissociation. Your brain is already capable of generating fully immersive, hyper realistic experiences without external input. Just think of vivid dreams or hallucinations. All of that? Your brain. Not a simulation. Not magic. Just neuroplasticity and brainwave manipulation.
Here’s what happens when you “shift”
• You enter a deep theta or delta state (linked to sleep and subconscious access).
•You detach from the sensory input of your current reality.
•Your imagination becomes your dominant reality and your brain treats imagined scenarios as real, neurologically speaking.
•Repetition and belief rewire neural pathways, making this process easier over time.

whenever I come across a post talking about how people below certain ages shouldn't be shifting, I almost agree with it.
but then I remember I was 12-13 when I found about shifting, and how I was in the worst of places mentally.
and that the only thing that kept me going was my belief that shifting was real, even when I doubted my ability in doing so successfully.
and how i'm so much better and it's only cause I continued and didn't give up, and how shifting played such a big role in all of that.
that's why I strongly believe that shifting finds you exactly when you need it most. whether you're 2 or 20, it comes to you when it's meant to.
everything conspires and works to bring it to you, in that exact moment that you find out about it.

You can call me Taro! (pronounced the same as tarot lmao) I'm one of the founding members of this little thing we call "S" here, along with "princess bubblegum" [with siri] and "brawns-for-brains" over there... and wannabe torero, I guess... (gosh that guy gives me the ick...).
I'm from from over the west side (Mexico) so I'm like... fluent in several languages! ¿Que chido, no? (moved to Japan in like, preteen years?)
I work as an engineer, technician, and those among other things (such as clothing designing and whatnot; I'd say I have a pretty good eye for that (。•̀ᴗ-)✧) Of course, besides my career, I have a strong passion for skateboarding! I've been practicing ever since I was in... what? Junior High? Uy, it's been a while.. (girl you're in your 20s y'aint that old) And because of that I met Kaoru and Kojiro. The wrecks those two were back then, I gotta tell you... well, they still are. (snicker) Recently, a (second) cousin of mine moved here, and I finally got to see my nephews again! Since I knew the younger of them (all of the sudden I sneeze or something lol) was into skateboarding, I thought it'd be cool to bring them here [to "S"]. He seemed to like it, but he was hesitant at the idea of coming often since... I mean it's illegal, hah! But trust, I got them covered. Maybe you'll even get to meet them! Anyhow, I hope to see you more often around here. Why don't you tell me about yourself, hm?

Hello to all beautiful souls on Tumblr. Some of you may have seen my recent post on TikTok.
My husband and I have come to a decision.
We are going to shift, and restart.
Not because of anything bad that happened. We are very happy with where we are at in our lives. We have had the honour of raising a bunch of amazing kids, explore beautiful places.
But in the end, both he and I are shaped by our pasts and, 'original' realities a lot.
My husband doesn't know any different than having the responsibility and pressure of taking care of a lot of people. And although he loves it, we believe he would profit from getting to find himself without a million eyes on him for once. We don't doubt he'll still choose lives like this in the future, but we want it to stem out of desire, and not because it feels 'normal.'
As for me, my wellbeing and life in this reality have affected me a lot. I don't hate this place, but it has come with a lot of trauma, and I don't like viewing it as my starting point. I think the version of myself that I embody in this reality represents my true self the least.
We have decided to shift somewhere we truly are the person we are meant to be deep down. A reality where we can meet again for the first time, but physically. Where he doesn't have to come looking for me, and I don't have to go through a whole roller-coaster to actually be with him. We will wipe our memories, and live our lives there.
After a while, we'll remember our memories of shifting and other realities. At that point, however, that reality will be our home and original starting point, and any other place, including this one, will be a dr, that we might choose to come back to at some point.
We have infinite lives, infinite places to explore, and for now this feels like the right thing to do for us.
We don't know exactly when we are going to shift there yet, but probably within the next week or two. I will come back here, likely after a lot of time has passed for us, but for the people here it won't be long at all. And I assume I will continue posting advice, and have new stories to tell.
I don't know how much I might change by the time I come back, or how much time will have passed for me. My views on some things might be different, which is primarily why I'm writing this post.
The version of me in this reality also has to focus on his health a little, so my responses to asks or dms will probably be slow for a week or so. I will be back, and it won't be long for you people. But knowing personally I'll forget about all this for probably a few decades or more, I felt like writing some type of goodbye or gratitude. Not because I'm not coming back, but because I'm leaving a version of myself behind that I have outgrown.

I swear this random ass method came up to me back in March where everything changed me for the best, I wanna call it the Click method, I don't know if there's anything similar, but god knows how it can help you.
Summary:
Sit somewhere
Let your mind wander
Look at yourself, your life, reflect your past your present, your future, every small detail on yourself, just everything
Now just sit there and wait for that realization to click and sit in being FULLY emerged deep and engraved in your mind, that after everything, "you are chosen."
Feel that? That bliss, that shock? That feeling that "what the fuck have I been doing so far? What the hell did I waste so much time for?"
This guys? This helped me snap my mindset, you don't need days to change the mindset, it's just the click of the realization, try it, seriously try it, and to actually trick your mind you've done it, I suggest tricking yourself (not necessary, but some people like to be logical and back it up with actions), simply tap a part of your body when you realize it, when that thought flows in your mind just as moments ago the thought of "I like the color xyz" had gone by.
It clicks.
Use it as any method, void, manifesting, revising, whatever the fuck you want, this just conjured up in my dream and I already feel how it can help people.

People who say that nationality, race, gender, sexual orientation, or anything else cannot or should not be changed whenever somebody shifts is not ready to talk about past lives and how you have literally been everything and anything and anyone.
I remember being male. I remember being a gay male, a straight male with a wife and kids. I have been women from all parts of the globe.
And so have you.
The thing is, we are incapable of understanding the full scope of reality. We're just barely scratching the surface. The same can be said about our understanding of time. We know now that time is not linear - that all time: past, present, and future exists simultaneously. Therefore, all of those people who you have been in a past life, you currently are still them.
The only divisions among us are those that are created by social constructs. And police by us or members of society that choose to believe in them and uphold them, that's it. Does it make them true. In fact in most cases social constructs are proven to be completely false prime example of that is the idea of genders versus sexes. One is biological dictated by chromosomes, mutations, and genetic variations of hormones and many other things we are just understanding- and the other is a social construct.
We are all the same, you, me, and everyone else. We're all the same consciousness. All of your experiences past, present, and future are currently going on at the same time- for all time. Just as everyone else's is. Reality is this:
There are no barriers. No limitations. No rules.
Follow your heart. Do what feels right, because it is.
