"Sansa's wedding"
( well i kinda liked this idea in my head how she would look with Lannister colors so i made her dress red)
I think the Team Green fixation on Jaehaera is honestly pathetic and embarassing. She’s not the first or last child to suffer or die in ASOIAF, nor end her bloodline. Why did the Velaryon boys all have to die brutal deaths ? What about all the peasant children who burn up in Aemond’s rampages, or suffer mass rape and murder at Bitterbridge and Tumbleton ? Why do Shireen, Myrcella, Tommen have to suffer a horrible fate ? I never see the same insistence that any of them make it.
I think her death serves two important narrative stories. First, it secures the pyrrhic victory, by ending the Green’s bloodline and making their supposed efforts for self-preservation completely null. It evens the slate between the Greens and Blacks (Greens get the history books, Blacks get the actual bloodline).
But I think the more important narrative is how it demonstrates the effect of the Dance on women in the universe. The irony that the Greens last claimant to the throne is invalid because of their efforts. Jaehaera is deemed unimportant and replaceable by her own faction because of gender, and is therefore relegated to a vulnerable and unprotected position. Their ideology kills the last of their bloodline. She is usurped and killed by an ambitious lord with the same motivations as her grandfather had for usurping Rhaenyra. It shows the cyclical nature of violence against girls and women who have little value in their society, except as bloodline vessels and maybe curators of political favors and supportive wives.

In some universe Dany, Brienne, Sansa, Arianne, Elia, Rhaenys and Arya are sharing confidences and spitting about gross men, I'm sure.
"In King’s Landing, however, Queen Alicent grew most wroth when she learned the babe had been named Aegon, taking that for a slight against her own son Aegon"
Rhaenyra gave birth to the perfect Aegon, who by the age of ten had lost half his family, his dragon, witnessed the horrific execution of his own mother, and got traumatized for life, but was still a better man, brother, husband, and king than the cheap parody of a Targaryen that the usurper was.
alicents green dress moment was nothing short of pick me vibes. She ruined another women's wedding by coming late and trying to outshine her. She'd be mocked in reality if this was a real event.
Realistically this scene should indicate to everyone that alicent wasn't fit to be Queen. She comes in late, wears war colours and the dress itself is revealing so goes against her faith (the faith of the seven). She made herself look like a bad Queen consort in front of everyone important. Yet the narrative is painting her as badass and stuff. It was cringe and definitely not badass. She was not fit to be Queen and team green are definitely just blind if they think she is
Because the whole point of this scene was for Alicent to be the most important and such a "badass". After all, TG are so excited that everyone stood up in amazement at the sight of her, but not when Daemon entered! As if standing up for the queen's entrance was not required…
For me, Alicent's entire behavior at the wedding was completely cringe and I will never change my mind, because she showed a complete lack of any respect not only for the crown, but also for the Velaryon family, because they were the guests of honor. Alicent was a completely adult woman (both by Westeros standards and by modern ones), and she behaved like an offended child, because her former friend did not tell her the truth about her sexual life… as if Alicent's father had not sent spies after Rhaenyra, did not want to ruin her and there was no risk that Alicent would immediately run to him with the news. And you know "she didn't confide in me about the sex" = "this is war!!!!", because it's obvious that this will mean that Rhaenyra will want to murder her and her children in the future, and nothing will help protect your own life better than making a potential executioner your worst enemy. Alicent has a brain.
Ik this isn’t Norton related but it’s been on my mind so ….
Hot take . I don’t think Hotd should be having a season 3. After the abomination that was season 2 I don’t think it should’ve been renewed. I also feel that they have gone so off the point of the book ( yes I know it’s an adaptation and things can get changed but not at the detriment of the story ) also making it woke . Seriously like wtf why …. It wasn’t needed . Hot hot take they should’ve gotten D & D to write it . At least it would’ve been engaging and entertaining. None of this miscommunication or accident bs . The characters would be multifaceted . But no we got two incompetents who are writing their own bs lesbian fanfic 🤦🏻♀️now they gonna have daeron for what purpose honestly ? You ignored him season one ,was mentioned in season 2 , I mean one of his arcs can’t even be used because no third child and honestly why bother their only gonna ruin as they have all the others . It’s a waste …
Rant over
He [Ned] had never paid much attention to the names the children had picked, but looking at her now, he knew that Sansa had chosen well. She was the smallest of the litter, the prettiest, the most gentle and trusting. She looked at him with bright golden eyes, and he ruffled her thick grey fur.
-A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin.
Inspired by the painting Meekness by Eustache Le Sueur, 1650.
He was a bookish boy and much preferred the library, where he could often be found. Books were his only passion. Vaegon was quiet and wary as a boy. Even as a child, Vaegon was not well-liked, something which did not change over time. When he had to speak he was often blunt, though never intentionally cruel: he always dutifully performed perfunctory courtesies, but no more.
vaegon... you will always be special to me!!
hate when critics and fans keep comparing rhaenyra & daenerys, especially their show-versions.
because even with the worst butchering of her character, dany remains the superior character! they are simply NOT comparable, sorry.
d&d may have killed dany, but at least she didn’t end up like a loser.
meanwhile ryan condal & his bad writing squad have written rhaenyra as an incompetent, naive loser who can’t decide anything and doesn’t give a fuck about her dead kids. they made her beg her nasty usurper stepmom for peace? in the name of (white) feminism? this is just trying to humble women into never showing emotion.
she is simply not intelligent, caring nor capable in this show (esp since episode 1x10).
genuinely, how crazy is that? humiliation ritual through and through.
i’m sorry that they did this to you, rhaenyra targaryen, you deserved better!
but s3 will genuinely be worse btw, just be prepared!
don’t waste your life watching this show, go outside <3
Every other day someone on twitter compares Dany to Aegon II. And every time it happens, I think how awful is to compare a rapist (Aegon II) to a rape victim (Dany).
🐺❄️
Jfc the way TG actors service the fans is so gross. Aegon/Helaena/Aemond are not a throuple. Helae*ond is not canon. Hela*gon's marriage is abusive. Peak cringey ass fan service
Emma really describing Alicent as the angel on Rhaenyra's shoulder and Daemon being the devil ?! What the actual fuck ! Objectively, it would be the opposite. But I guess the team of this show only knows demonize Daemon instead of accepting him as the anti hero he is and husband of Rhaenyra who love her and whom she is supposed to love in return. Without forgetting not capable of accept the canonical reality of Alicent which is that she is purely and simply a villain / antagonist, Rhaenyra's adversary and especially only for the pre-war period to then pass the baton to Aegon II as Rhaenyra's adversary. So Alicent isn't supposed to be that important when war is declared. I really hate how this show destroyed the characters and their stories and relationships to feed their pretentious and misogynistic fanfiction (which they ironically think is super progressive).
everyone talks about how alicent "deserves" to put aegon on the throne because of everything that happened to her after marrying viserys, but what about aemma? the one who had to marry him when she was twelve and had to go through five miscarriages before giving birth to rhaenyra at fifteen and later died on birth?
Mushroom: aegon was a usurper and a rapist
Team green: He'S aN UnReliaBLe naRraRatOR
Mushroom: daemon taught rhaenyra how to kiss
Team green: This is 100% factual evidence that Daemon Targaryen is a groomer and a disgusting individual where is the lie there is So MuCh evidence!!!!!!111
Dany and her babies (again)
CAT I LOVE YOU PLEASE LOVE ME BACK CAT PICK UP THE PHONE
naerys & daeron ii
hotd was a mistake.
People need to understand that they don't have to like everything their fav does.
What i thought we'd get with alicent being Rhaenyra's age and "friend"":
An ambitious young woman who befriended the princess to be in the upper echelons of society and close to the crown/crown princess in order to manipulate her/be closer to viserys in order to manipulate his feelings before/after aemma in order to become queen and work hard and use the secrets/insecurities she discovered as the princess' best friend/lady in waiting against rhaenyra in order to have her son crowned king one day
What we got: a bland, boring 2D character with no agency or goals or ambitions who hides the fact her son his a rapist, who insists she's the victim of the story and chalks everything up to an unfortunate accident cause she's never done anything wrong ever and only ever been used by everyone in her life 🙄 (this is sarcasm i loathe show alicent more than any other asoiaf character)
"At the center of the merriment, cherished and adored by all, was their only surviving child, Princess Rhaenyra, the little girl the court singers dubbed “the Realm’s Delight.” Though only six when her father came to the Iron Throne, Rhaenyra Targaryen was a precocious child, bright and bold and beautiful as only one of dragon’s blood can be beautiful."
“If the gods were kinder… would you wed me instead?”
Laena and Rhaenyra discussing Laena’s betrothal to the Braavosi sealord’s son and Nyra’s to Laenor :( I VOWED to make 2025 my year and I AM TRYINGGGGGG (literally crashed out multiple times doing multiple drawings) please save me…
Queen Aemma Arryn with her daughter Princess Rhaenyra
Oh you hate bran? You think he’s boring? You think he’s whiny? Should we throw a party? Should we tell the old gods? Wanna go tell bloodraven?
"Rhaenyra always dressed richly, favoring purple and maroon velvets and golden Myrish lace in intricate patterns. Her bodice often glittered with pearls and diamonds, and there were always rings on her fingers"
