Things from the GOTG2 Commentary that Hurt Me:

1. GOTG2 takes place only 2 months after GOTG1 (later in 2014), which gives you a lot of perspective about just how much more the Guardians must have bonded by Infinity War, since Gunn also confirms teen Groot is 4-5 years later and this so is Infinity War. 2. Rocket’s harassment of Taserface is an intentional effort to distract him from killing Yondu. Could Taserface kill him instead? Yeah. Does he really care that much. No, because he still hasn’t realized that anybody genuinely cares about him.

3. To quote Gunn “I don’t even know it Rocket cares much about dying. He’s a sad and lonely character. I think we get to see more in this movie that he’s deeply a injured, damaged soul who has never known tenderness. He’s never known love. He’s never known affection. So when he starts to become friends with the Guardians he’s not able to deal with the intimacy of friendship.” Ouch.

4. Gunn considers Rocket’s character arc to have equal footing to Quill’s arc in terms of importance in the film.

5. Nebula hates Thanos more than Gamora does.

6. The score has a motif that plays for Quill and Ego as a sort of “fatherhood” theme, but it doesn’t play at its fullest until Yondu sacrifices himself since Yondu is the REAL dad of the story.

7. Mantis was originally going to comment on how much love Drax feels for the other Guardians, but it was cut out because Gunn felt it was better to show it than tell it.

8. Nebula is the more sensitive of the two sisters and has become so hard because it’s the only way she can deal with how horrible her life is.

9. Gunn thinks it’s a shame that Nebula and Yondu didn’t get to interact more. He feels they would have become good friends.

10. When Gamora hears Quill say “Maybe what you’ve been looking for was right by your side all along” she thinks of Nebula. 11. Nebula is “probably even more damaged that Rocket if that’s possible.”

12. Quill considers Groot a son and sharing the earbud with him during the funeral sequence is meant to be symbolic of passing his music along to the next generation like his mother did for him.

13. They decided to end on the shot of Rocket because it was the first time Rocket was seeing a hint of a purpose to his life - up until this he hasn’t believed he had a reason for existing other than being an experiment.

How to read X-Men?

For the dear X-Men fans that came in through 97 (or the movies) and are confused as to where to start the comics! Don't let the internet fool you, there is only one way and it is by starting with Giant size X-Men #1 (1975). No I am not kidding, it truly is the only right way to get the full story😭 (unless you want to go ALL THE WAY to 1963, I don't necessarily think it's that vital)

This is me trying to keep ppl from making the same mistake I did, starting with wheadon's astonishing X-Men ☠️

This is to get ALL the context and major story arcs still referenced today. So I believe it to be vital for the other eras. (I don't know how you can fully understand jean and Scott's relationship today without having read inferno or dark phoenix for example)

Now, If you just wanna read for one specific character, that's a different story! Character specific reading guides that concentrate on the important issues across time exist! Look for those they're very useful <3

Okay alright go with me on this

V, but as a “came back wrong”

Like, what if the vampire fixation and the references to him existing beyond the veil of time were actually pointing to the fact that he didn’t survive the attempts of the church to purify him? What if he was supposed to be retrieved at some point, Sister had it in her plans, but before that could happen he was killed for the natural inclinations towards darkness that he started showing??

What if his death presented one of the most perfect vessels that had ever existed for the entity that lays claim to the Papas?

What if he actually IS a vampire? Brought back from the dead for unholy divine purposes?? But undeniably not altogether human anymore?

Now imagine the pack dreading getting a new Papa, not sure how they’re going to handle another strange human creating bonds and having to get used to them and know them. But what they get instead is more creature than man, and for the first time they have a Papa who is naturally inclined towards their instincts and pack dynamics.

Imagine them figuring out within the first few weeks that he’s needed blood this whole time and hasn’t told anyone. Dew cuts himself open on his guitar in rehearsal and V just freezes, eyes blown wide and fangs elongating until they’re visible poking past his lips. The pack all having the realization at the same exact time, and Dew walking over with a frantically beating heart to offer V his hand.

Y’all I’m swiftly careening into full blown AU territory with this one 😂😂
