this should not have gagged me as hard as it did
Fakeclaiming (in the context of plurality) often stems from insecure systems projecting their internalised anti-weirdness and pluralmisia onto others in an effort to prove they’re “one of the good ones” to neurotypical society.
“Weird” people making fun of the “weirder” to be more accepted by the “normals” is nothing new in marginalised communities, nor has it ever been productive. If you are someone who does this, do know that the bigoted neurotypicals won’t like you any more because you threw people who were slightly more different under the bus. You’re still a “weird multiple” who deviates from (and thus threatens) the status quo in their eyes, and the second you present even a bit outside the narrow standard of what they’ve deemed acceptable for those like you, or the second you stop trying to assimilate, they will start hating and invalidating you too. Fakeclaiming is unhelpful and accomplishes nothing, it only creates toxicity and works to marginalise us further.
One thing that helped me in life is like realizing that everybody else gets away with being ugly. Everybody else gets away with confronting people. Everybody else gets away with accidentally bothering people. Don’t worry about anything ever lol
Sometimes little pleasures in life are loadbearing. Whenever someone is like "If you'd just give up tea and coffee and sugar and--" im like I'll stop you right there. Because if you finish that sentence i am going to kill everyone in this building and then myself. If i have to face the horrors of the world without my little jar of caramel flavoured instant coffee i am going to go full American Psycho. Believe it or not, my main priority in life is not to have perfect teeth or be an Olympic athlete or look like a supermodel, but to actually enjoy living, because I spent far too long not doing that and it royally sucked. And boy, some people don't like hearing that. Particularly dentists
People seriously underestimate the long term effects of constant loneliness
"why are you so weird?" Idk, maybe because being completely isolated while growing up has destroyed my brain and now I'm nothing more than a human-mimicking creature that bases all of my actions on what I think is normal human behavior rather than just doing things naturally
look I understand why people would be compelled by the amulet, but that’s just not the kind of thing I would do. if I had the amulet it wouldn’t even effect me even slightly. actually, if you hand over the amulet right now right this second I can prove to you how uneffected I will be. just for a second
Can you believe I'm having to make this meme even after successfully finishing up taxes and applying to job
