i love tragedy i love circular narratives i love ppl who cannot escape their fate & characters that have been dead since the beginning
a little list of some positive projects coming out of the spnfamily right now:
- The Castiel Project: A fundraiser for The Trevor Project, an organization for suicide prevention for queer youth. The Castiel Project is a positive outlet for the outrage at the CW’s homophobia. Donate here if you have the means. Reblog this to signal boost.
- Ramble On: A WIP rewrite of s6-15 of SPN by @rambleoncas and @thiscastielhasflown along with the team they’re assembling. Find details @rambleonspn and drop an ask if you have questions or words of support.
- Superior Natural: Similar concept to Ramble On, but from the beginning. Find them @spnrewrite and on their discord linked on the blog if you’d like to support or contribute. I don’t know as much about it or the people involved but I’m happy to signal boost as it seems like a positive effort.
This is by no means a complete list! I encourage you all to rb and add anything you want to signal boost as well!
for the self-conscious beginner: No one makes great things until the world intimately knows their mediocrity. Don’t think of your writing as terrible; think of it as preparing to contribute something great.
for the self-conscious late bloomer: Look at old writing as how far you’ve come. You can’t get to where you are today without covering all that past ground. For that, be proud.
for the perfectionist: Think about how much you complain about things you love—the mistakes and retcons in all your favorite series—and how you still love them anyway. Give yourself that same space.
for the realist: There will be people who hate your story even if it’s considered a classic. But there will be people who love your story, even if it is strange and unpopular.
for the fanfic writer: Your work isn’t lesser for not following canon. When you write, you’ve created a new work on its own. It can be, but does not have to be, limited by the source material. Canon is not the end-all, be-all.
for the writer’s blocked: It doesn’t need to be perfect. Sometimes you have to move on and commit a few writing sins if it means you can create better things out of it.
for the lost: You started writing for a reason; remember that reason. It’s ok to move on. You are more than your writing. It will be here if you want to come back.
disgustingly cute domestic scenes to imagine your otp in:
getting slightly too drunk in the middle of the afternoon and slow dancing to dumb cheesy old music and kissing in a way that’s more laughter than actual kissing, mouths clumsy and hands gripping tight and sunlight slanting over them as they move lazily together
curling up on the sofa together, feet tucked under thighs and arms around shoulders, watch the kind of crap tv that only airs at 3am because they don’t want to go to untangle themselves to go to bed
hectic mornings when they each need to be somewhere and they’re rushing around each other, ducking into bathrooms and bedrooms and kitchen cupboards, pausing to straighten tops and press kisses to cheeks
going through old photos together and collapsing into laughter every three pictures, and zooming in on ones where they’re pulling awful faces or ones that were taken at just the wrong moment
getting ready for nights out together, standing shoulder to shoulder as they brush their teeth or get their faces ready or style their hair, knocking elbows and hips as they try and hog more space
standing quietly together in the kitchen after long, exhausting days, leaning into each other for support, breathing in the smell of home, fingers carding through hair and stroking down spines, until they feel like they can relax and smile properly again
Despite the fact that I am not deaf, mute, or blind myself, one of the most common questions I receive is how to portray characters with these disabilities in fiction.
As such, I’ve compiled the resources I’ve accumulated (from real life deaf, mute, or blind people) into a handy masterlist.

Edits are welcome, I just ask that you don’t claim this as your own or redistribute. Credit, reblogs/likes, are all nice, but not required!
