Did You Ever Wonder Why We’re Not Supposed To Drink Sea Water? A Kidney Can’t Make Urine From A Concentration

Did you ever wonder why we’re not supposed to drink sea water? A kidney can’t make urine from a concentration of salts of more than 2%. Seawater is made of 3% salt, so if we drink it, the kidneys have to use existing water from our body to dilute and absorb the extra salt, which in turn makes us even thirstier. This keeps happening until we die of dehydration.

When Katherine Johnson Was Little, She Loved To Count Things. By The Age Of 10, She Was In High School.

When Katherine Johnson was little, she loved to count things. By the age of 10, she was in high school. In 1961, she calculated the trajectory of NASA’s first trip into space. She was so consistently accurate that when NASA began to use computers, they had her to check the calculations to make sure they were correct.

@Regrann From @1_christ_loved - Not Much Of A Beer Man Myself...but Cheers To You That Are 🍻🍻🍻

@Regrann from @1_christ_loved - Not much of a beer man myself...but cheers to you that are 🍻🍻🍻 @Regrann from @history - It’s #InternationalBeerDay ! A day for beer lovers everywhere to raise a toast and celebrate this historic beverage! Beer has been around for possibly millennia. The world’s first fermented beverages most likely emerged alongside the development of cereal agriculture some 12,000 years ago.  In fact, some anthropologists have argued that these early peoples’ insatiable thirst for hooch may have contributed to the Neolithic Revolution by inspiring new agricultural technologies. The earliest known alcoholic beverage is a 9,000-year-old Chinese concoction made from rice, honey and fruit, but the first barley beer was most likely born in the Middle East. While people were no doubt imbibing it much earlier, hard evidence of beer production dates back about 5,000 years to the Sumerians of ancient Mesopotamia.  Beer consumption also flourished under the Babylonian Empire, but few ancient cultures loved knocking back a few as much as the Egyptians. Workers along the Nile were often paid with an allotment of brew, and everyone from pharaohs to peasants and even children drank beer as part of their daily diet. Many of these ancient beers were flavored with unusual additives such as mandrake, dates and olive oil. More modern-tasting libations would not arrive until the Middle Ages, when Christian monks and other artisans began brewing beers seasoned with hops. Drink up! #beer

@Regrann From @history - On #ThisDayinHistory 1949, After Three-year Battle To Win Both Players And Fans,

@Regrann from @history - On #ThisDayinHistory 1949, after three-year battle to win both players and fans, National Basketball Association (NBA) was formed by the merger of two previous leagues. Representatives from the two leagues met in New York’s Empire State Building to finalize the merger. Maurice Podoloff was elected head of the new league, made up of 17 teams that represented both small towns and large cities across the country. Through the 1950s, the number of teams dwindled, along with fan support, and by the 1954-55 season, only eight teams remained. That year, the league transformed the game with the creation of the 24-second clock, making play faster-paced and more fun to watch. Fans returned, and the league, now financially solvent, expanded throughout the 1960s and 70s. Today, the NBA has 30 franchises and attracts players—and millions of fans—from countries around the world. Pictured here is the last smarter appearance of Wilt Chamberlain. #NBA #basketball

Life Before The Internet

Many people born after 1990 don’t remember a world before Internet. Here are a few things you may not realize about life in those days:

Phone numbers had to be looked up in a giant book.

Clowns weren’t considered scary. This is just the result of an early meme.

There were no llamas. The llama is a result of special global internet-coordinated breeding programs.

If you wanted to move something from one computer to another, you had to put it on a disk, which only held 0.2 MB maximum.

There were no unique television stations, all TV came through as a single broadcast, and there was no choice of what to watch at any time.

Most movies did not have sound. The few that did had to sync up the audio from a record player, and it often went out of sync very quickly, leading to sometimes hilarious results.

There were no phone poles, these are exclusive to the internet. The invention of the internet and the subsequent installation of these poles and wires gave birds a new place to rest, allowing them to migrate farther than ever before. Prior to 1990, birds could only migrate a few blocks.

Lightning wasn’t deadly, nor did it produce thunder. Only with the air electrified from so much internet did lightning gain deadly strength and become audible from afar. Back in the 80s, playwright Samuel Beckett spoke of lightning as causing a gentle tingling sensation. Many people would stand out in the rain just to feel it.

Cars didn’t have wheels. The wheel is a fairly recent invention, which could only come into being with science advanced by the worldwide web. Cars before wheels were odd contraptions which did not move, yet people still spent hours and hours sitting in them, expecting to get somewhere in the hope that one day, the wheel would be invented. Many people still practice sitting motionless in their car for hours and hours, mostly in Los Angeles.

We didn’t have snot. Nobody knows if the internet caused us to secrete mucus, but there are no records of it prior to the invention of internet.

For All My Conscientious Objectors...here A Little More Education For You...so Whether American Declared

For all my conscientious objectors...here a little more education for you...so whether American declared it's self free or not our fore father's were still in chains..be it British or American..and just so you further made a little less ignorant ...many slaves where set set during that time...be it whether they fought for the Red coats or the Rebels...so I ask isn't freedom for some better than freedom for none? And is that not a reason to celebrate? But don't listen to me...think for yourself... Happy Independence Day from me though! 🎆🎇🎆🎇🎆🎇🎆🎇

@Regrann From @theblaquelioness - "Some Historians Have Stated It Would Have Been Impossible For A Person

@Regrann from @theblaquelioness - "Some historians have stated it would have been impossible for a person who neither reads nor writes to have related the stories of the Civil War in such detail as Magee without having served in the conflict. One historian stated that Magee talked with 'rare intelligence and seldom rambled' in telling of his participation in the Civil War. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ ➖➖➖ He lived to be, according to history and the data that we’ve collected throughout the Internet, he was 130 years of age when he passed away in 1971. Sylvester Magee had no birth certificate, but chancery court records in Covington County list him and his father as being passed on to the next of kin when their owner died in 1859. Mr. Magee always insisted his birthday was May 29th, 1841. Now as if being 130 years old when he died weren’t enough, there are a couple of OTHER significant details about his life and death that sets him apart. Not only was that old, but he was the last American slave (slavery victim in America) to die. And, because he did service with the Union Army in the siege of Vicksburg, he was the last Union Veteran to die. And since he started the war as an arms bearer to his master on the side of the South, he is perhaps also the last CONFEDERATE veteran to die. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ He’s listed in the book 'Black Confederates.' His accounts of the Union Army crossing the Big Black River after the Battle of Champion Hill on their way into Vicksburg convinced historian A. P. Andrews he had to have been there, since Mr. Magee couldn’t read or write. How else could he have known all the minute details and names of the officers? 😊 And don’t forget, he also lived to be 130 years of age." ♥️ Source Sylvester Magee’s unmarked grave MSNewsNow.com -- blackthen.com ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ #SylvesterMagee #BlackHistory #theblaquelioness - #regrann

Fellas...give Ear To Wisdom... Stop/don't Let Money Whore (and I Do Mean Whore) You In A Relationship

Fellas...give ear to wisdom... stop/don't let money whore (and I do mean whore) you in a relationship or a marriage...don't sacrifice your self-respect self-esteem position and importance in the family for financial comfort. This isn't my story...but it's very similar... @Regrann from @darkskinwomen - Abuse does not just happen from male to female, it can be female to male, female to female etc.. #Repost @penciledcelebrities ・・・ I am NOT here to be abused by you emotionally, physically and psychologically because "FINANCIALLY" you make more than me! Just remember who I am supposed to be to. I am a man, I am a father, I am a provider, I am a protector, but most importantly, I am a human being first and everything else second. I am strong but my love for you makes it seem as if I'm weak. I may appear okay to you because you never hit me and left any physical marks but your rage, your insults and your shaming over who the breadwinner is increases the deficit of my manhood more than you can ever imagine.
