Back on my kageyama parents love, Reigen is an honorary member of the kageyama family and noone can convince me other wise š¤
So the spirit copies someone you trust. For Tome that was Reigen. For Reigen that was Mobā¦
And for the spirit possessing Reigen (Rusty) that was becoming Reigen, because you can see his head forming from the Mimic spirit. Which is sad but expected, as it means the few nice words and promises Reigen gave Rusty to trick it were the best it ever heard, side no other face appears on Mimic.
am i just supposed to accept someoneās hatred?
Reigen just fucking died
DRIVE LINK HERE to the official mob psycho 100 fanbook!
as far as i can find, there's not been any comprehensive scans of the fanbook put up online, at least on the english-speaking internet. soooo since there's all sorts of fun stuff in it (character birthdays! character & creator q&a's! who would be most likely to survive on a desert island! guest art by other manga authors (the one in the upper left there is by the creator of FMA)!) i wanted to make sure everybody who wants to could see it!
more info under the cut. enjoy!
5x7", scanned at 300dpi in jpg format. exact pixel dimensions differ slightly due to how my scanner's auto-crop works.
the images uploaded are exactly as they were scanned, no image editing save for cropping. they could use some editing to be more presentable (levels adjustment to bring the darks down, more saturation on the color pages, & a teensy bit of rotation/adjustment) but i wanted to upload the untouched files. i might create a new drive with cleaned-up versions at some point.
i claim no ownership over these images, please feel free to do whatever you like with them, share em, edit em, and so on, no attribution necessary.
i bought my copy from hiro_shop_japan on ebay, if anybody wants to get their own.
these are obviously untranslated- some awesome folks have scanned & translated parts of the book (particularly the qnas). you can find those here! there's also a twitter thread of translated bits from 4chan, but i can't seem to find that one at the moment.

Things I love about this exchange:
1. Itās really funny.
2. Reigen refers to being the bodyguard and right hand man of a megalomaniacal esper terrorist asĀ āSerizawaās last jobā which is a perfect example of his attitude towards everything.Ā āYes I know you kidnapped the prime minister but have you, personally, got any customer service experience?ā
3. Itās clear from this scene that Serizawaās job interview was saving Reigen from a giant ball of psychic power and at no point did either of them discuss what heād be doing there.
4.Ā āSmack them with my umbrella.ā Obviously this is a translated work and I donāt know if this nuance was in the original line at all, but I love the phrasing here. I donāt believe for a secondĀ Toichiro told him toĀ āsmackā people with his umbrella so much asĀ "eliminate them without hesitation or mercy" and the fact that Serizawa would frame it in such an innocuous way speaks to the level of denial he was in.
5. Reigen, who recently had to knock out a client that pulled a knife on him: Yeah, things arenāt that different here.
If you really think about it, what Ritsu was going to do for Mob during Confession Arc (allow himself to be hurt again to snap Mob out of the state he was in) is pretty much exactly what Mob did for him during the Cleanup/Claw Arc of season 1. Mobās wasnāt intentional or planned out like Ritsuās was going to be, but he found Ritsu in a violent and abnormal mental state and accepted him fully despite his actions, allowing himself to be bullied to protect Ritsu from enduring the pain of the consequences of his actions. And it was this self-sacrificial beating Mob endured from Koyama that snapped Ritsu fully out of his rebellion and bloodthirst by begging some āsuper powerful beingā not to hurt him (like Mob did to himself in his head).
Also, āHalf of that is true, isnāt it?ā/āDont bother trying to get rid of me. Because Iām your brother.ā VS āThis isnāt some separate, scary version of you. Itās a part of you.ā/āBecause Iām your younger brother.ā
[ID: A series of Mob Pyscho 100 screencaps, here described in pairs.
Ritsu with shadowed eyes and Mob with solid glowing white eyes.
Mob looking serious or neutral and Ritsu with a fearful, shocked expression.
Mob kneeling with a genuine smile and Ritsu smiling with self-assurance.
Ritsu crying and looking battered and Mob sweating and looking harrowed. End ID]
But Ritsu decided to change the ending this time, and end the cycle of self-sacrificial trauma.
Of course, parallels in Confession Arc is a given bc itās half of the entire point, but itās fun to explore them.
