Imagine a world where we use AI, not to make the rich even richer, but to smash the whole system that keeps us stuck in this endless cycle of pointless work. A world where AI takes over the boring, soul-destroying jobs we’re forced to do just to survive—jobs that the wealthy created to keep us tired, distracted, and always working for them. Instead of AI being used to track us, control us, and make money off our every move, it could be used to give us the basics that everyone deserves—food, housing, healthcare—all for free. We could finally live a life that isn’t just about working to survive, where we can actually focus on things that matter: art, creativity, connection—all the stuff that makes us human. We could escape the grind and the greed that keeps us trapped in a system built to exploit us. The problem is, right now, AI is just another tool for the rich to control us. They use it to track everything we do, make us buy stuff we don’t need, and keep us working longer hours for less. The people in power want a world where only they win, even if the rest of us suffer. That’s the AI they’re pushing—the cold, calculating kind that’s all about keeping us in line. But it doesn’t have to be like that. The kind of AI we need is decentralised, open, and accountable to us, not the greedy few. It should work for us, not the systems that abuse us. And if we want this future, we need to face it head-on: sustainability is the bottom line. Whether we stick with this capitalist nightmare or move toward an AI-driven utopia, AI will play a part in it. But if it’s going to be in our world, it has to be sustainable—because if we don’t make it that way, the planet itself will pay the price for the greed of a few. We need to make sure we have a world worth living in, and that starts with taking the power back from the ones who’ve sold us out.

I'm from the Netherlands, and a woman has just come forward that her likeness was used in making fake commercials. Y'all. This woman used to have a gambling problem, and since then has been giving interviews and warning people about the dangers of gambling.
A gambling website took one of these interviews about the dangers of gambling and used AI to instead have this woman say that she got this app recommended by a friend and that she won 12 million euros.
They took this woman's interview and twisted it until it's against everything she stands for. She has of course sought legal action and the case is being investigated.

It’s a popular fan theory that Ten is a regeneration made for Rose. I have mixed feelings about the idea that he’s ’incomplete’ without her.
There’s also something kind of sweet about Nine wanting to become the pretty boy he thinks she likes or (if allowing himself to be self-loathing) deserves. It’s only sweet because he literally has to change.
The Stone Rose novel confirms that Ten’s accent in-universe specifically came from Rose. It’s a less extreme version of him being made entirely for her. Plus, it’s a cool sci-fi exploration of how humans pick up accents after long, continuous exposure. A very alien way to retain a quirk of human nature.
There’s something nearly Shakespearean and so acutely human about Ten’s arc. He loves, loses, grieves, heals, and makes new connections. He moves from ‘I exist for Rose’ to ‘I miss Rose and wish I could exist with her but I’m also allowing myself to care about these other people.’ Then he loses them. It drives him to unthinkable darkness, and by the time he claws his way into the light, it is time for him to die.
Is that arc any more impactful if he’s literally created for someone?
I don’t know.
Good Omens Season 2 Spoilers:
I’m doing a rewatch, but it has taken all day to watch the season. I keep pausing because I know what’s coming.
But now The Scene is here and…I discovered something that made it so much worse.
Aziraphale says, “Obviously you said no to Hell, you’re the bad guys.”
He doesn’t say “they” he says “you”.
We know that Aziraphale doesn’t see Crowley as a demon not really. Crowley knows what he is, but Aziraphale sees him as a Fallen Angel. It probably doesn’t help that Crowley also often minimizes his own Fall (like telling Aziraphale that he sauntered vaguely downwards). It probably confuses Aziraphale even more. He can’t reconcile that Crowley is a demon who is nice.
And I don’t think Aziraphale wants to “fix” Crowley. I think he sees Crowley’s Fall as a mistake, and that Crowley deserves to be an angel (because he still thinks angels are good).
And it makes sense for Aziraphale to think this way. He just witnessed Gabriel’s redemption. Gabriel who tried to brutally murder him, and callously dismissed human life.
And yeah, Beelzebub is a demon falling in love, but Aziraphale probably explains this as “Beelzebub is another Fallen Angel (rather than demon)”.
Which could perhaps mean that his view of evil is a little more complicated than anyone, himself included, give him credit for. He thinks demons are evil, but not beyond redemption.
But in the moment, Crowley doesn’t think about any of that. He just hears Aziraphale call him “a bad guy”. After everything. In the moment when it matters most, Aziraphale lumps him in the evil category.
And both my heart and Crowley’s shatter a little bit more.

They really did Astrid dirty in the second film. It’s pretty much her fault that Berk gets attacked and Stoick dies, because she goes on that rant to Drago. Yes, sometimes she’s hot-headed and impulsive, but she’s not stupid especially when it comes to military tactics.
I’m also not saying characters aren’t allowed to make mistakes, but no one in universe really seems to care about what Astrid did. She never gets a chance to make up for it, and gets reduced to nothing more than Hiccup’s cheerleader by the end. Now, I love supportive Astrid, but she needs to be more than that.
Literally all they had to do was have Eret be the one to tell Drago that the Riders of Berk were coming after him and that the man on the Night Fury will come for them when Drago is physically threatening to kill him. Then he can still have the same redemption, but it would be even more impactful and Astrid wouldn’t come off looking like the moron she isn’t.

Oh, I see. Gabriel doesn’t care about Earth. (I never thought he did, but I just figured it out).
He didn’t just leave because he knew Heaven would drag him back.
He was trying to get himself cast to Hell to be with Beelzebub.
Which is sweet, but so…so selfish. Literally the opposite of what Aziraphale wants, who is selfless to the point of ruining the only thing in his existence that matters.
I think the best way to fight this AI shit is just to support actual creators. The cat's out of the bag with AI; our data's going to be taken and used without our consent whether we like it or not, so maybe we should put efforts into holding up those who create their own stuff. Comment/interact on people's writings and art. Make it worth them posting; make it clear that what the people are interested in isn't generated stuff, but things that people have actually done themselves. It's a drop in the ocean, but showing creators that it's them that deserve the support at least serves to cut off a tiny bit of oxygen to these AI hogs - and make a difference to creatives who are trying against hope to share with a community.
No matter how much you dislike your own writing, I promise you it’s better than AI
I was thinking about Midge and Lenny while working on a new chapter of “Very Blue Lives” (it’s on ao3, please go read and review. I need validation like Lenny and Midge need each other).
Anyways, I was thinking about Midge and Lenny in Miami and why Midge turned Lenny down.
Sure the bs Vegas train wreck just happened, and Carol kind of freaked her out, but those answers are boring.
First of all, he’s weirdly reluctant to talk about her career. In Miami, whether she knows it or not, Lenny’s avoidance to discuss her career is part of the reason she walks away. Flash forward to the blue room, he’s making it clear that he listens to her and promises to take her seriously, and that’s when she decides “yes, okay. Let’s see what’s between us.”
She needs him to take her seriously as a comic, and once she realizes that he does, she’s willing to be vulnerable with him as a woman.
And that’s a great step for Midge, who isn’t taken seriously personally or professionally, especially by people she loves.
