Quetzalcoatl as depicted in Codex Borbonicus
Fuck but because I feel bad eating him and there’s too much for me to reasonably eat
The Feathered Serpent is a prominent supernatural entity or deity found in many Mesoamerican religions. It is called Quetzalcoatl among the Aztecs; Kukulkan among the Yucatec Maya; and Q'uq'umatz and Tohil among the K'iche' Maya. The double symbolism used by the Feathered Serpent is considered allegoric to the dual nature of the deity: Being feathered represents its divine nature or ability to fly to reach the skies; being a serpent represents its human nature or ability to creep on the ground among other animals of the Earth, a dualism very common in Mesoamerican deities.

YOU HAVE NOTHING TO PROVE
🚪🏃💨
And there's a pain you can't imagine
A special kind of torture you can feel
A cut that bleeds from somewhere deep inside you
A past regret you can't heal
And no one guesses all the while you’re praying
That screaming little stranger in your arms
Might just grow up and save you after all
Might just grow up and save you after all
I really do feel like he misses him because one that’s his brother and they’ve worked together before and two that’s his equal and opposite
Tez every time he remembers that his brother hasn't returned after 500 years:
Maybe intoxicate him with pulque wasn't the best idea.
This brings me pain. You’ve pained me.

Sorry y’all I died again
Referring to sarafangirlart’s previous tags
I always saw it as obsession. Whether you hate or love or whatever didn’t really matter. Whatever you felt either drove you to madness with the want to destroy or with the craving to have their amino acids and lipids buried within your body, a part of you.
Not saying your interpretation is wrong at all! Metaphors are flexible. I just like yapping :3

Sudden useless headcanon on Itztlacoliuhqui: he is dead inside.
What I do in my life if I have a headcanons on Aztec gods lol...
Oh yeah there’s also this bit
“Sahagún's passage describing the Toxcatl impersonator reads like the rapt portrayal of a man whose beauty approximated that of the ideal unmarried Aztec woman”
You can technically make Tezcatlipoca wear a maid dress and it would (kinda) work
"Although Sahagún never witnessed the Toxcatl rite, he described it at length in his encyclopedic Florentine Codex, in which he included his Aztec informants’ vivid description of the ideal victim’s physical appearance...I will argue not only that the young Aztec impersonator was chosen for his androgynous appearance but also that, during the events leading up to the moment of his death, his gender—but not his sex—was symbolically feminized to the point where he transcended the male-female binary altogether. The impersonator’s increasingly ambiguous gender, in other words, served as a visual sign of his association with, and ultimate transformation into, the god himself
D-does this mean Tezcatlipoca nonbinary??????
