Charles Tyrrell at Taylor Galleries
Last night, I attended the opening of Charles Tyrrell's exhibition at the Taylor Galleries, 16 Kildare Street, Dublin 2 D02 XF75. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The venue was packed creating a lively atmosphere. I loved all the paintings and drawings on view. My favorite artwork was the large red painting on the first floor called CG1.23, 2023. Charles's exhibition called 'New Paintings' will run until 9th June 2023.
Paul Abell as Rathmines Library
Last night, I attended the opening of Paul Abell’s art exhibition at Rathmines Library. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. Paul had already begun to sell his many paintings featuring buildings, boating scenes and landscapes. I particularly loved Paul’s paintings of one or two boats moored on a hazy shoreline which are the biggest sellers. Paul’s exhibition will continue for just today and tomorrow. He hopes to raise €8,000 the Capuchin Day Centre for the Homeless and Mellon Educate, a charity that builds schools in South Africa.

Roisin O’Farrell at the Doorway Gallery
I went to the opening of Roisin O’Farrell’s exhibition ‘Silver \ Paper \ Gold’ at the Doorway Gallery, last night. It was packed. Roisin’s paintings looked fresh and full of life as if she had plenty of inspiration in painting them. I particularly loved her paintings of pieces of cutlery lying side by side on polished surfaces surrounded by wallpaper. It’s a simple idea which I had not seen before. The Doorway Gallery is at 24 South Fredrick Street, Dublin 2. Classy.

Mick O’Dea at Kevin Kavanagh
Last night, I attended the opening of Mick O’Dea’s exhibition at the Kevin Kavanagh Gallery, Chancery Lane, Dublin 8. The gallery was packed. Mick’s portraits were full of life. It was worth the effort going. This exhibition called ‘Kilkenny Festival Portraits 2015 - 17′ will run until 30th June. Classy.
