I'll draw these at some point lmao (probably) but for now just take your best guess

just for clarification:

disliking parts of the way rapunzel’s character was handled in the show =/= disliking her.

movie!rapunzel means a lot to me personally, and i absolutely adore some aspects of her character in the show. i think she’s loving, creative, funny, intelligent, and she tries her best to help the people around her.

if i have a critique with her in the show, it’s because i believe that isn’t how she’d behave as someone who went through the events of the movie. or maybe i look at how she acts for one episode of the show, compare it to the foundation they’ve established in an earlier episode, and find that they contrast one another. my criticisms are for the inconsistent or out-of-character writing, not for rapunzel herself. i understand she has flaws; i just wish they were addressed properly and that she didn’t always have to be in the right.

-she has used her braid to strangle a man before. this was in front of hugo, but he was ten years old, so he was practically an adult. it’s fine.

-she used to be very protective about her lab journals, but ulla started doodling around her notes and donella gradually warmed up to it. (then they started to drift apart, and ulla began her own journal that she never let donella see, and donella was left to trace the loops of ulla’s handwriting even before ulla was gone.)

-she usually made it a policy not to hire child soldiers, but hugo was the best thief she’d ever seen. she tested him & his instincts for a while before deciding to raise him herself.

-on that note, she does love hugo in a way, but donella’s mind is very priority-organized, and hugo ranks low on that list.

-she prefers mechanical weapons to chemical ones. her dagger is her go-to in a 1v1 fight, though.

-slightly civil to quirin. slightly. a long time ago.

-very defensive, even with those she half-trusts. they have to be out to get her, otherwise, why would they be saying this?

-constant, well-hidden paranoia. she’s climbed so far but her position is so precarious.

-she was raised in a very unstable home that she left as soon as she could. either she was an orphan or she was brought up by someone who parented her like she parents hugo.

-she only got truly, unconditionally attached to someone once, and that woman disappeared for almost two decades. ulla was always going to disappear, and donella was always going to be left.

So if the eternal library is supposed to be this place with all the knowledge and inventions from every country, every planet, every universe- then what if team radical is exploring it and comes across some super modern car or something and are just like "is it alive?" And then poke it with a stick

Yet ANOTHER silly (which for me, means angsty) headcannon

What if, after years of explosions and poud sounds from the fireworks, Yong actually goes deaf?

And yes, I know Varian was around a ton of explosions with his science and everything but the entire point of fireworks is that they explode one way or another and since he'd be a stupid little kid when he started making them he probably wouldn't take proper safety measures, so he would slowly lose his hearing.

And let's say he didn't really notice it, for him barely being able to hear (I wanna say he's completely deaf in one ear and mostly deaf in the other) is just normal for him and while he finds it weird how Yong asks him to repeat everything or speak louder, Varian would just assume its him trying to understand it better but Hugo, that would be a different story.

Hugo gets just a tiny bit sick of having to yell for the kid to hear him, but his annoyance turns to concern when one day Yong almost gets run over when the Caravan's breaks malfunctioned and Hugo had to shove him out of the way since Yong didn't move when he screamed (Varian and Nuru were out buying food or something in this senerio) so he finally starts to actually ask proper questions and Yong just says "Yeah, I can't hear most of the time" or something like it's completely normal?!

So, after hearing all this. Hugo not only teaches Yong (and later the rest of the gang) Ingvarian sign language (since he used it with Olivia sometimes) but made Yong either hearing aids or later on cochlear implants and Yong is just completely flabbergasted at how things normally sound like for people and might get overwhelmed with the sounds so they have to help him get used to it and this could actually help him make fireworks better since he could recalibrate the explosions or something? (Idk how fireworks work) and it would just be reaaaaaaaly cute<3.

I have no thoughts other than library depression now. I don't even know how a library can be depressed, but it is.

Bit confused as tow hy you're drawing him, but @blondebitch7k actually does have a reason. He cuts his own hair. Sometimes without a mirror and then he sees it in the mirror and thinks it's cool and edgy. It's not. After meeting me, Nuru and Yong, he's decided to trust me and nuru with his hair so it's not TOO bad now. His hair when we met him... that's a whole other kind of monstrosity. I shudder thinking about jt

Almost forgot to post this but a while ago we made clay animals and I chose a raccoon and just turned it into Varian.

Varigo Headcanon!

One of the original posts about Hugo said that his glasses had runes that could let him see enchanted objects. I thought I'd take this, but instead of his glasses, it was his goggles, which gave him an excuse to wear them more often.

How is this Varigo? Well, what if when Varian and Hugo are working together on something, Hugo sees a little glow of blue around Varian, mainly his hair and eyes. He asks about it and Varian explains his slight connection to the moonstone (another thing I headcanon). Much later, after Hugo starts coming to terms with his feelings for Varian, he starts to call him "Moonlight" as a nickname

I don't know how to explain things but like we all need wholesome Varigo in our lives I think
