Every time someone brings up the topic of Varian can't wearing skirts but Hugo can it's so fucking tiring to me

Both characters can be complex in gender

Both characters can wear whatever at any giving time

The clothes don't have gender or sex, they are a form of expression.

You can wear a fucking skirt and not giving a fuck

You can wear pink as a guy and not giving a fuck

If it applies for one character it can apply for the other too

Fiction is fiction but fiction is still expression.

I think Varian should call Hugo “Blondie” but kind of unintentionally. It just comes out. He’s so used to hearing Eugene affectionately refer to his beloved partner as Blondie, that when Varian and Hugo become close, he too begins to affectionately refer to Hugo as Blondie.

He’s not intentionally trying to copy Eugene, he doesn’t even realize what he’s doing, until he does it in front of him- and dies of embarrassment. Rapunzel thinks it’s adorable though.

And even if Eugene vehemently hates Hugo at the time, he can’t help but be a little fond of how he rubbed off on Varian.

What if Rapunzel thought he was getting help? Her dad lied about the rocks, I wouldn't put it past him to lie about what happened to Varian, either.

Look I get why Rapunzel couldn't go help Varian immediately but like. Could she not go get him after. Like yes there was an emergency, she couldn't leave but after the emergency was sorted she just went to her room and talked about how bad she felt ab not helping. There was still time to help???

Hell yeah sequel oneshot!

look. i’m not saying “fear is the heart of love” is gonna get a follow-up oneshot, because that would be ridiculous. i’m also not saying that you should be on the lookout for “the incision always follows”, because now we’re entering downright ludicrous territory. i’m also not saying that some more comments on the og oneshot would speed up my writing process and motivate me tremendously, as well as warming my little heart. i’m glad we understand each other.

Like me personally I think we should allow Nuru to be fragile every once in a while because she’s literally just a girl. Not in the barely-disguised-misogyny way but in the was that she’s LITERALLY just a girl, she’s like sixteen, she’s a child, and she already spent her entire life cosplaying Atlas and having to be strong for her people, allowing her her emotions is not a terrible awful crime and it does not make her any less capable. If Varian and Hugo can be allowed their emotional complexities and hundreds of thousands of breakdowns and still be capable and ass-kicking then guess what, so does Nuru

Cassandra's moonstone form, with my own version included as well. Since my version of the story takes a different approach, an outfit change seemed appropriate. Plus, a moonstone form that looks like it's on the verge of crumbling is honestly a cool visual.

Can we talk about Eugene's growth. He started as a selfish thief who feels alienated from everyone and once he decided to do the right thing by saving Rapunzel he still thinks he is an outsider not worthy of compassion.

It was until Arianna, a person he barely personally knew offered him a hand and pulled him to a hug, accepting him despite not knowing a thing about him.

And now Eugene, after unlearning his selfishness and tendency to run from problems, matured knowing he is loved and is willing to take responsibility for the people he loves. And now it is him who gets offer love and compassion to Cass, who feels fearful of being undeserving of it after what she has done.

Eugene used to live thinking he didn't deserve love and compassion, and now he's the one offering love and compassion.

Hello I am currently in class and bored out of my mind so here's how I think every tts/vat7k character would draw. Also I included my OCs cause they infect my brain

Rapunzel: Really good with both watercolour and acrylics (is it acrylics that she used? Idk historical accuracy is dead in this series and I don't know paint despite being an artist). She also occasionally uses coloured pencil. She sometimes does lineart, sometimes doesn't, and can draw pretty much anything! Also likes to draw designs for clothes or jewellery she can make.

Eugene: Cannot draw for shit, as seen in season 2, ep 4 (in what world was that a gopher, that was a dinosaur bud). Rapunzel does teach him often, and he is slowly but surely getting better! Whenever he draws himself, he makes himself look exaggeratedly handsome (which he is, but that's besides the point).

Cassandra: Also can't draw. Never really saw a reason to learn, but Rapunzel also insisted on teaching her.

Lance: Reeeally can't draw. Like worse than Eugene and Cass. He has fun though, and that's all that counts.

Varian: Good with sketching, but can't turn it into a finished piece to save his life. Great at capturing specific details in a persons face. He mostly draws blueprints and diagrams, but I once saw a headcanon where he draws team radical in the margins of his journal and I love that. He would def draw his friends and Ruddiger but he'd label them like diagrams because why not?

Angry: Can't draw. Tried and then ripped the paper.

Catalina: I really don't know. I feel bad for not knowing because I love her but I seriously can't figure it out.

Hugo: Self-taught, much like Rapunzel and Varian. He never grew up with many art supplies, so he learned to draw with charcoal, and grey lead pencils literally the size of his hand. He can also sorta culpt, and Rapunzel taught him watercolour, which he did like. He draws realism, but even more realistic than Varian. He only draws people close to him, such as Varian, Olivia, Donella, and Livvy (OC). Took this from a headcanon I found, but I don't remember who wrote it, sadly. Also he draws clothes to make, but he's not all that good at sewing.

Nuru: Can draw star charts, spell circles, and often tried to recreate/redesign old tapestries. She's not the best artist, but again, she has fun!

Yong: Draws straight on the paper with sharpies and highlighter. Eats the pencils.

OC time!!

Livvy: Would absolutely draw in a chibi style. Thinks Hugo's art is incredible (which it is), and Hugo would try to teach her some things! (I'm projecting here because I'm the artist of my family and my sister often gets me to teach her, and Hugo is literally me and my sister was a big inspiration for Livvy).

Melody: New dream kid #1, so she knows how to paint. Talented at drawing perspective.

Ryder: New dream kid #2, but this time he's a massive interior design freak.

Sofija: Varigo kid #1, and they both taught her how to draw. Despite how adorable and innocent she seems, she draws the most fucked up and gory stuff with a whimsical little smile on her face.

Niko: Varigo kid #2, but he prefers to write poetry rathet than create visual art.

Okay this was a lot but I'm done now :D This isn't EVERY character but no way I'm writing for every character (maybe in the future)

Yong headcanons and thoughts!!! If I may!!

YONG my PRECIOUS

-he has a lot of running jokes with himself. this comes from being overlooked a lot as a kid (you have to be your own source of entertainment when people don’t want to play with you), but it eventually just became part of his nature. these running jokes include making the most diabolically sexual comments and then blinking innocently when the rest of the group whirls around to look at him. “what? does that mean something?” they are his puppets and he is their master.

-he gets eczema sometimes. varian made some olay-worthy lotion for him.

-very musically talented! hand him any instrument and he’ll make a little ditty within a couple minutes.

-he thinks varian’s the coolest, hugo is the most suave, and nuru is the most wise. then he witnesses varian spend five minutes trying to extricate his boot from a hole it got stuck in without realizing that he can use his chemicals. and then he sees hugo go bright red when varian gets fed up and scoops him off the ground, slinging him over his shoulder. then he watches nuru realize she was holding her map upside down for the last forty minutes and discreetly adjust it. then he comes to the conclusion that he, yong, is the team leader.

-certified bug lover. he will pick up a cicada and present it to hugo, who will yelp and smack it out of his hand. this cycle will repeat with more and more frightening bugs. yong is using his innocent face, but he revels in hugo’s terror.

-one of the proudest days of his life was when he made a joke that had the other three in hysterics, even hugo.

-his main love language is quality time, then words of affirmation :D

What are some of your favorite Hugo headcanons because I love seeing what people think of him

AH IT’S HAPPENING

-i love robotic arm hugo. i think it’s an absolutely fantastic concept. however, if that were the case, he’d either have to have lost his arm or been born without it. either way, i imagine donella had to do surgery both on his shoulder and his brain to attach it, which gives him phantom pains. varian’s noticed that hugo tends to use his human arm for things, but he didn’t put it together until he grabbed hugo’s metal wrist a bit too hard and saw him wince.

-he’s insecure about his singing voice and usually sings out of key to tick people off, but when he actually tries to sing— be it to calm someone down, or serenade varian— it sounds incredible.

-he has worn a dress to smuggle stolen objects in, multiple times. that made him begin to feel introspective before he Noped himself right out of that spiral. (i think he’s genderfluid/genderqueer, but he’s usually okay with being called he/him when he knows it’s someone who would adjust the term if asked.)

-he does Not like bugs. bugs of any kind. even butterflies are pushing it.

-the absolute biggest sap, but all on the inside. varian loves in feelings and gestures, and he does great with words of affirmation, but hugo’s mind is like a poetry mill that never stops. if anyone was able to tell what yearning, dramatic thoughts he was thinking, they would never let him hear the end of it.

-he had a celebrity crush on the alchemist of old corona. and eight different conspiracy theories. this is a pretty common hc but i love it.

-attracted to varian’s “villain voice”. nuru judges him so hard for that.

-a huge love language of his is physical touch, but he’s trained himself out of it. fast forward a few years after the events of vat7k, and you will see hugo glomping onto his chosen people.

-horrible at art. he can draw blueprints and schematics, but he cannot draw people. he’s only managed to draw his robot mouse by thinking of her as various mechanical parts. he tried to draw himself once at eight and once at nineteen and both drawings look the same.

-she has used her braid to strangle a man before. this was in front of hugo, but he was ten years old, so he was practically an adult. it’s fine.

-she used to be very protective about her lab journals, but ulla started doodling around her notes and donella gradually warmed up to it. (then they started to drift apart, and ulla began her own journal that she never let donella see, and donella was left to trace the loops of ulla’s handwriting even before ulla was gone.)

-she usually made it a policy not to hire child soldiers, but hugo was the best thief she’d ever seen. she tested him & his instincts for a while before deciding to raise him herself.

-on that note, she does love hugo in a way, but donella’s mind is very priority-organized, and hugo ranks low on that list.

-she prefers mechanical weapons to chemical ones. her dagger is her go-to in a 1v1 fight, though.

-slightly civil to quirin. slightly. a long time ago.

-very defensive, even with those she half-trusts. they have to be out to get her, otherwise, why would they be saying this?

-constant, well-hidden paranoia. she’s climbed so far but her position is so precarious.

-she was raised in a very unstable home that she left as soon as she could. either she was an orphan or she was brought up by someone who parented her like she parents hugo.

-she only got truly, unconditionally attached to someone once, and that woman disappeared for almost two decades. ulla was always going to disappear, and donella was always going to be left.

TELL ME EVERY TTS/VAT7K HEADCANON YOU HAVE

why did i subject myself to this. i’m still gonna do it, though. (these aren’t fully dedicated to any one character, so y’all can still ask about them! just thinking of the overall shows)

-varian got down on one knee to propose to hugo. hugo laughed and said “ha, you’re even shorter now.” there was a moment of absolute silence before hugo realized what was going on. varian started to stand up. hugo frantically begged him to wait and start over.

-cassandra and eugene occasionally called off their rivalry for cass to teach eugene to play chess. cass had realized he didn’t know how (orphan, poor, thief) and said that a future king obviously had to learn. cue surprisingly cute, very gruff training.

-varian is terrified of maximus. maximus can smell the criminal on him. varian has had to hide in a tree from that horse several times.

-there was a point in hugo’s life, after vat7k, where it finally dawned on him that he was safe and happy. varian held him as he cried with too many emotions he couldn’t describe.

-hugo absolutely despises frederic and arianna. he performs elaborate, heist-like pranks on them for varian’s sake. they don’t know it’s him. they’re losing their minds.

-for a long time after his redemption, varian didn’t see anything wrong in his relationship with andrew. he just thought “well, he’s standing in for my dad.” and then he did consciously realize “he’s evil”, but he didn’t actually unpack everything that went on. i don’t think andrew did anything to him, but i think he was extremely creepy, and there’s still something so horrible about a man in a confined space with a boy who was 13 only a year ago.

-upon the separatists of saporia breaking out, andrew made sure to keep varian busy in the castle so he didn’t realize that the citizens of corona were enslaved.

-varian’s truth cookies made pete and stan confess their love.

-nuru is afraid of ruddiger at first (not a lot of wildlife in a meteor-ravaged kingdom). she finally gets over that fear just in time for varian to have to turn ruddiger into beast-ruddiger for some reason. nuru is even more emotionally scarred.

-“plus est en vous” goes differently in my mind. in my ideal reality. in my headcanon. i don’t know exactly what happened, but i do know varian, lance, and eugene play MUCH bigger roles.

-hugo is an emotional drunk. varian is a stupid drunk (while inebriated, he once invented a ship, which had already been invented at the time. ((by “ship”, i mean boat.))) rapunzel is also an emotional drunk. cass is the death-wish kind of drunk that would deliberately try to get run over by a carriage. eugene can keep an objective in mind when he drinks, like getting information out of somebody, but he will also get distracted by a really pretty swirl of wood on the table. lance is a philosophical drunk.

-the whole team, from both shows, hums their big songs to themselves when they’re bored. those things may spring out of their innermost psyches and display themselves in fits of passion, but damn if they aren’t catchy.

-angry once won an arm-wrestling match against lance. no one knows how it happened. lance swears she hypnotized him.

-eugene lets rapunzel paint on him, and she comes to him for fashion advice.

He truly never fails to surprise the blond

thinking about your ingvarrian swear posts and having the thought of hugo developing a crush and when they fight he throws in some sweet pet names too bc he's so frustrated at himself for liking this guy and letting it out during their verbal matches is the only way he can get any kind of release

which eventually results in them having a fight with varian starting it off by calling him something like My Darling or Sweet or Cute and throws hugo off the entire day

ahh~ fighting each other truly is their love language first and foremost like the rivals to lovers sillies that they are <3 already actin like an old married couple before they even started dating and all

I love to imagine that since Yong reminds Varian so much of his younger self, he pours so much care and support on nurturing Yong's curious mind in a way he never had in his own (prior to meeting Rapunzel). Showering the kid with encouragement, assurance and wisdom... to keep going.

And that because of this, Yong develops to embrace failure as part of the stepping stone process on getting something right. He is not afraid to admit when he's wrong, and is eager to learn where he can improve. He becomes braver, more sure of himself and grows to have stronger belief in himself and in his capacity as an inventor in his own merit.

He's the most open to all sorts of ideas, no matter how absurd it sounds on paper. He will be down to give it a shot and try to make it work cuz thats part of the fun. And thats something that's special about him in the group, he is the member that constantly reminds the team that learning for fun is just as important as taking their line of work seriously. And sometimes, the other three really needs that.

headcanon of hugo going from calling yong "sparkles" (when he didnt take him as seriously at first) to "little man" (his sweet way to convey that he's changed how he sees him and thinks the lil guy is capable in his own way too)....

And yong loves the new cool nickname a lot <3

i imagine team radical has a group dynamic of two sheltered nobles (varian & nuru) and two travel experienced civilians (hugo & yong)

with my personal hc that yong, surprisingly enough, had his decent share of traveling cuz his family's firework business perhaps includes importing their goods to other kingdoms for celebration purposes and yong tags along in some, especially how in a lotta asian families bringing their kid along to learn the ropes of the business at a young age is quite common (also hence why his parents were probably okay with him traveling with varian)

and a part of me wants varian and nuru to have that bi/lesbian loser duo dynamic where if you let them execute smth together, they somehow manage to fumble the bag, like how long will it take two sheltered geniuses to do a simple unassuming task ? the answer may shock you... it's the overthinking of it all <3—and there are days it frustrates tf out of hugo to educate those two but there are days when he's feelin silly and tells yong to not say a word even tho the lil guy wanna inform them so they wont embarrass themselves
