Yong narrowed his eyes slightly, "I am fourteen! Almost, anyway."

Yeah, Varian didn't believe that. He crossed his arms and gave him a judgemental look, "You're little for a fourteen year old."

"And you're little for," he looked him up and down, "well, whatever age you're in, really."

This took so long and for what ಥ‿ಥ

Y'ALL ANOTHER STUPID HEADCANONS JSJDJFJ

So like, in a modern au, Varian lives in like a farming village with his dad that is like two hours away from the city. Rapunzel and Eugene (since they would be a part of the government technically) would live in some kind of a mansion along with Rapunzel's Parents (Rapunzel's dad could be like a mayor of something) but later, Rapunzel and Eugene buy a little cottage near the borders of the city. Not too far away from the city, but enough to get away from all the chaotic noice, just somewhere calm. And Varian lives with them! Somewhere at a time (like what would the equivalent of season 3 be) he moves in with them into the cottage. And every weekend, he goes to his dad's. Also, since they live on a farm, Varian always brings back some fresh, quality fruits and vegetables for his friends. When he goes to his high school in Corona (where I imagine he met Hugo, Yong and Nuru), he always brings them some of the food, especially for Hugo, who never really got the luxury of having fresh, nice food like this. He usually east most of it anyway JDJDKKF

ME THINKING IM FUNNY PART 3 OR SOMETHING HSHHFJFJG

YALLLL here are some random vat7k headcanons that nobody asked for but i wanted to get it out in the world :D

- Hugo constantly teases Varian about his height even though Varian is the second tallest person in the group

- Yong sometimes joins Hugo in the teasing even thought he's like over a head shorter than both of them

- Varian doesn't usually laugh unless it's like a nervous laugh or something but Hugo manages to make him burst out laughing often

- Yong is the best cook in the group and often is the one cooking their meal (Varian is the second best and sometimes helps him, Hugo and Nuru can't cook for shit JSHDJD

- They all often sleep in one bed/tent together. At first they had to do it so they wouldn't spend too much money on inn rooms and would just get two big beds or even just one

- But after a while they got so used to it they do it on purpose so now they can't sleep without the gang cuddles 😤❤️

- Hugo is a very touchy person and sometimes. just like. sits on Varian's lap. Only ever to tease him and/or fluster him and only ever for like a few seconds, and at first it annoyed Varian but when he started crushing on Hugo, it got him FAINTING.

- At the beginning of their journey, Hugo had a lot of trouble being a team player and looking out for other people and just like. always did his own thing. he didn't understand why it was such a big deal at first. He can pick up his own slack, no one needs to worry about him and he needs to worry about no one. (He's a Toph kinnie) He thought that's just how the world worked.

- But the group started calling him out for it, saying that if he's gonna be with them until the end of their journey, he needs to learn how to work with people. Hugo gets defensive and they all start arguing. They tell him that they care about him and that he can't just "do his own thing" while they're running away from something or fighting someone, that they want to keep him safe, they want to keep each other safe,

- But Hugo just has a hard time believing that someone would care about him enough that that they'd risk their own lives to save him (and this could lead to some potential angst, or fluff, or both lmao)

- Hugo never tasted many kinds of food, especially for example candy (since they probably wouldn't have that much in the iron kingdom and it would be expensive too, and i doubt that Donella bought him any sweets)

- So when the gang discovers this, they secretly buy candy and exotic food for Hugo saying that they just bought it for the whole group so he wouldn't think it's for him but they kinda give him mist of it

- Hugo's favourite Candy is caramel and marshmallow

- Hugo also very much enjoys Varian's hot cocoa

Aaaaand I think this is all i can remember right now but I probably have more somewhere deep in my brain hsjjfkfkfk, let me know if you'd like to hear more headcanons or if this was useless! :D

Good news! During an interview with Kay Hayes, they announced that they're working with a new indie animation production studio; Zarianimation to make Varian and the Seven Kingdoms a reality on Youtube! She and Anna are working on episode one now, and is set to release, along with three other episodes, in August!

Since Disney isn't associated with the show, they can make it as dark (or gay 💅) as they want!

look. i’m not saying “fear is the heart of love” is gonna get a follow-up oneshot, because that would be ridiculous. i’m also not saying that you should be on the lookout for “the incision always follows”, because now we’re entering downright ludicrous territory. i’m also not saying that some more comments on the og oneshot would speed up my writing process and motivate me tremendously, as well as warming my little heart. i’m glad we understand each other.

why did i subject myself to this. i’m still gonna do it, though. (these aren’t fully dedicated to any one character, so y’all can still ask about them! just thinking of the overall shows)

-varian got down on one knee to propose to hugo. hugo laughed and said “ha, you’re even shorter now.” there was a moment of absolute silence before hugo realized what was going on. varian started to stand up. hugo frantically begged him to wait and start over.

-cassandra and eugene occasionally called off their rivalry for cass to teach eugene to play chess. cass had realized he didn’t know how (orphan, poor, thief) and said that a future king obviously had to learn. cue surprisingly cute, very gruff training.

-varian is terrified of maximus. maximus can smell the criminal on him. varian has had to hide in a tree from that horse several times.

-there was a point in hugo’s life, after vat7k, where it finally dawned on him that he was safe and happy. varian held him as he cried with too many emotions he couldn’t describe.

-hugo absolutely despises frederic and arianna. he performs elaborate, heist-like pranks on them for varian’s sake. they don’t know it’s him. they’re losing their minds.

-for a long time after his redemption, varian didn’t see anything wrong in his relationship with andrew. he just thought “well, he’s standing in for my dad.” and then he did consciously realize “he’s evil”, but he didn’t actually unpack everything that went on. i don’t think andrew did anything to him, but i think he was extremely creepy, and there’s still something so horrible about a man in a confined space with a boy who was 13 only a year ago.

-upon the separatists of saporia breaking out, andrew made sure to keep varian busy in the castle so he didn’t realize that the citizens of corona were enslaved.

-varian’s truth cookies made pete and stan confess their love.

-nuru is afraid of ruddiger at first (not a lot of wildlife in a meteor-ravaged kingdom). she finally gets over that fear just in time for varian to have to turn ruddiger into beast-ruddiger for some reason. nuru is even more emotionally scarred.

-“plus est en vous” goes differently in my mind. in my ideal reality. in my headcanon. i don’t know exactly what happened, but i do know varian, lance, and eugene play MUCH bigger roles.

-hugo is an emotional drunk. varian is a stupid drunk (while inebriated, he once invented a ship, which had already been invented at the time. ((by “ship”, i mean boat.))) rapunzel is also an emotional drunk. cass is the death-wish kind of drunk that would deliberately try to get run over by a carriage. eugene can keep an objective in mind when he drinks, like getting information out of somebody, but he will also get distracted by a really pretty swirl of wood on the table. lance is a philosophical drunk.

-the whole team, from both shows, hums their big songs to themselves when they’re bored. those things may spring out of their innermost psyches and display themselves in fits of passion, but damn if they aren’t catchy.

-angry once won an arm-wrestling match against lance. no one knows how it happened. lance swears she hypnotized him.

-eugene lets rapunzel paint on him, and she comes to him for fashion advice.

would. would the tangled the series/vat7k fandom send me some asks about my headcanons/thoughts regarding the Characters. is that a thing i can request.

sometimes you gotta write a full-on ghost story reducing the 14-year-old antagonist of the first season of that dumb tangled spin-off show to a vengeful cryptid, because that’s what everyone saw him as

and make said story told by a princess whose state of nonexistence is even more severe than the other fictional Disney princesses

while sitting around a campfire with a well-intentioned 12-year-old pyromaniac, a thief who’s going to betray them, and the exact murderous cryptid she’s unknowingly weaving her tale about.

Hello I am currently in class and bored out of my mind so here's how I think every tts/vat7k character would draw. Also I included my OCs cause they infect my brain

Rapunzel: Really good with both watercolour and acrylics (is it acrylics that she used? Idk historical accuracy is dead in this series and I don't know paint despite being an artist). She also occasionally uses coloured pencil. She sometimes does lineart, sometimes doesn't, and can draw pretty much anything! Also likes to draw designs for clothes or jewellery she can make.

Eugene: Cannot draw for shit, as seen in season 2, ep 4 (in what world was that a gopher, that was a dinosaur bud). Rapunzel does teach him often, and he is slowly but surely getting better! Whenever he draws himself, he makes himself look exaggeratedly handsome (which he is, but that's besides the point).

Cassandra: Also can't draw. Never really saw a reason to learn, but Rapunzel also insisted on teaching her.

Lance: Reeeally can't draw. Like worse than Eugene and Cass. He has fun though, and that's all that counts.

Varian: Good with sketching, but can't turn it into a finished piece to save his life. Great at capturing specific details in a persons face. He mostly draws blueprints and diagrams, but I once saw a headcanon where he draws team radical in the margins of his journal and I love that. He would def draw his friends and Ruddiger but he'd label them like diagrams because why not?

Angry: Can't draw. Tried and then ripped the paper.

Catalina: I really don't know. I feel bad for not knowing because I love her but I seriously can't figure it out.

Hugo: Self-taught, much like Rapunzel and Varian. He never grew up with many art supplies, so he learned to draw with charcoal, and grey lead pencils literally the size of his hand. He can also sorta culpt, and Rapunzel taught him watercolour, which he did like. He draws realism, but even more realistic than Varian. He only draws people close to him, such as Varian, Olivia, Donella, and Livvy (OC). Took this from a headcanon I found, but I don't remember who wrote it, sadly. Also he draws clothes to make, but he's not all that good at sewing.

Nuru: Can draw star charts, spell circles, and often tried to recreate/redesign old tapestries. She's not the best artist, but again, she has fun!

Yong: Draws straight on the paper with sharpies and highlighter. Eats the pencils.

OC time!!

Livvy: Would absolutely draw in a chibi style. Thinks Hugo's art is incredible (which it is), and Hugo would try to teach her some things! (I'm projecting here because I'm the artist of my family and my sister often gets me to teach her, and Hugo is literally me and my sister was a big inspiration for Livvy).

Melody: New dream kid #1, so she knows how to paint. Talented at drawing perspective.

Ryder: New dream kid #2, but this time he's a massive interior design freak.

Sofija: Varigo kid #1, and they both taught her how to draw. Despite how adorable and innocent she seems, she draws the most fucked up and gory stuff with a whimsical little smile on her face.

Niko: Varigo kid #2, but he prefers to write poetry rathet than create visual art.

Okay this was a lot but I'm done now :D This isn't EVERY character but no way I'm writing for every character (maybe in the future)

Team radical goes to the spire and meets Calliope and it's just a contest to see who can out "uhm actually" the other

You know you're cooked when you kin all of team radical + Rapunzel

I think early on in vat7k, Hugo, Var and Yong would have to go through the forest of no return in order to get to Nuru's kingdom. At the end of the series, they'd all kinda go on a mini road trip to say goodbye to everyone properly, and they'd drop off Yong first, meaning that Hugo, Var and Nuru would have to go back through the forest of no return. Nuru would've never been so I can imagine her just getting so frustrated she'd kick a tree and it'd unlock a secret path or something

I feel like Hugo's betrayal would be parallel to when Varian reveals his criminal past, but also not really? I like to think Varian would've revealed his past by himself, rather than waiting for the group to stumble across a wanted poster or smth. I also think Hugo would've figured it out a while ago, and while Nuru and Yong would be mad that he hid it for so long, they'd soon realise that he's changed his ways, and their friendship and trust would grow stronger.

When it comes to Hugo's betrayal, however, he hid it for much longer. Donella was also the one to tell everyone, not giving Hugo a chance to explain himself. Another thing is that nobody in team radical knew or could really relate, except for maybe Varian but he was too heartbroken at that point. While Varian was comforted by Hugo after his reveal, Hugo had nobody. He was stuck with Nuru and Yong, who hated him at that moment, and Varian just ran off.

I also think that for Varian, Nuru would be more upset but for Hugo, it'd be Yong.
