Headcanon time!! I like to think that in season 1 or before, Varian sewed little patches onto his apron. Maybe something from a Flynn rider book, something representing the farm he lived on, the Sundrop flower for Rapunzel, a V for his name, etc.

I think at the end of Vat7k, all of his friends and family got together to surprise him with a giant jumper or blanket, where each person made a cute little patch. Even if that person didn't know how to sew or knit or something, it just made it more special. Even if it was super itchy, Var would still keep it

Working on a cute little Rapunzel sickfic that takes place within the six month timeskip in between Tangled and Before Ever After, in which Rapunzel gets sick for the very first time (cause the sundrop powers would give her like a superhuman immune system, but now that her hair is cut and her powers are very much weakened, she's able to get sick). I think early on in vat7k, Hugo, Var and Yong would have to go through the forest of no return in order to get to Nuru's kingdom. At the end of the series, they'd all kinda go on a mini road trip to say goodbye to everyone properly, and they'd drop off Yong first, meaning that Hugo, Var and Nuru would have to go back through the forest of no return. Nuru would've never been so I can imagine her just getting so frustrated she'd kick a tree and it'd unlock a secret path or something
