The first two years of writing a story is just Thinking™️
i am asked about my favorite color.
i am seven
and my reply is
pink
because i am a girl
and pink
is a princess color.
i am asked about my favorite color.
i am ten
and i like
green
because a boy told me that pink
is lame and girly.
i am asked about my favorite color.
i am thirteen
and i tell them
purple
it is unique and spunky
like i want to be.
i am asked about my favorite color.
i am seventeen
and i just say
red
i do not say
it is bright and angry at the world
as i am
i cannot form the words to express
all of my frustrations
so i paint my lips with
rage.
i am asked about my favorite color.
i am twenty
and it’s pink
i remember the joy
of being a child
i reclaim the freedom
of femininity
because i cannot remember
what my shoulders felt like
before the depression
hung from them.
i am asked about my favorite color.
i am twenty-six
and my answer is
brown
it confuses most people
they don’t see it
they may think of dirt
and dust
and dead things
but it is coffee with friends
and the chocolate chip cookies
my mom used to make.
it is my hair
and my eyes
amber and gold
in the sun
and i love myself
again

The Weekly Writing Update #6
09.10.22
This past week has been and this next week will be spent outlining the plot down to each chapter. Up till now, it’s been a bunch of ideas all vaguely spread out between beginning, middle, and end. But it’s caused a lot of chaos and I’ve changed and rewritten the plot many times, so a chapter-by-chapter layout of the plot will do me MUCH good :)
The past week, I got the chart set up and started a little bit. But this next week I plan to work on it way more and hopefully complete it!
Here is the chart layout btw if anyone wants it use it!
XOXO~
i want to spoil my whole story and tell people my plot twists and yet want to keep it a mystery too and see their reactions later

The Weekly Writing Update #3

Making progress! I deleted the other opening scene I came up with and started a new one, but I'm a lot further along in this one and feel a lot better about it.
⇨ Still worried about how a few details are going to fit into the plot but I'm still working on it. I’m trying not to make the plot too complicated, so I’ve split it into what the villain is doing and what the protagonists are doing and how it’s connected
⇨ The part I’m struggling with the most is the beginning, so I just need to get past that and I think I’m good. Everything else is planned out and I’m not worried about that as much
⇨ I didn't make as much progress as I would have liked, but I have been pretty busy this week, with starting my new job! But I'm hoping this next week has more progress
That’s all :)
XOXO~
