I was thinking the same thing when the authors mentioned there being another category all the students fit into the only person who doesn’t make sense to me is theo. The deans mention theo having gone to the academy before lenore I have two possible explanations for this

1. Theres a different characteristic for each class that comes through only this class is murder victims

2. Maybe there was foul play in theos death thats yet to be revealed

theory time: what unites all the students at nevermore academy?

tw: death, violence, blood, all the bad & sad stuff.

considering that nevermore academy is a kind of purgatory, there has to be a reason why it holds such a small number of people. in this realm must be plenty of places where different people, united by one characteristic, end up after death. this was also confirmed by the authors.

for a long time now I've been following the theory that all the characters of "nevermore" are united by the way they died. namely, they all were murdered.

almost from the very beginning of the story we were aware that annabel lee was murdered. the same thing was stated in the latest chapters too.

ada was clearly also brutally murdered by the nobleman she loved. the poor girl's body was probably never found. I'm afraid no one really looked for it though.

recently we also learned that duke didn’t just drown. his magical performance was sabotaged by a person unknown to us.

the cause of pluto's death was not specified in detail, but I'm inclined to believe that he was strangled by his tyrant father (and my baby felt a huge relief, I'm crying).

berenice was hit by a car, but I'm pretty convinced that it counts (?), because she was running away from a bad person. especially if we take into account the story of the poe's character with the same name.

oh, and I almost forgot about montresor, although there have been a lot (too much) of him lately. well, he was thrown under a train. not much to add.

the only people who stand out from the general pattern so far are prospero and eulalie. eulalie died in a fire. the exact cause of prospero's death is unknown to us, but with a high probability it was caused by some kind of disease, presumably the plague. however, I wouldn't rush to write these two off. the fire could have been the result of arson. not necessarily for the sake of killing poor eulalie. but in any case it's a deliberately arranged action. remember, in the eyes of the public, duke's death also seemed like an accident.

and the final chord of prospero’s life could have been, for example, not the disease itself, but a medical “mistake” during the surgery or something like that.

I’ve realized that a lot of people who see my posts see them because they like nevermore and have never read I’m the grim reaper

So heres me as a fan of both trying to convince you to read it :3

1. Themes of death and already dead characters just like in nevermore (and main character has memory loss and is piecing back together who she was)

2. One of the main characters (brook) is aromantic and really good aro rep (later in the series but trust me its so worth it)

3. Apocalypse scenario idk nevermore people just give me the vibe of enjoying that

4. Religious trauma (calling out the monty enjoyers)

5. Something to read while you wait for the next season :D

6. Female main character

7. Really gorgeous art (examples at the end)

8. Really cool character designs (examples at the end)

9. Its also on haitus rn so you have time to catch up

10. Really really cool fight scenes and I don’t usually enjoy those

First of all I would love to talk about itgr with you please omg I literally made this account to find other itgr fans it was the first webtoon I ever read back forever ago and I love it more then life anyway sorry I started to rant there

Second I love your theory so much and I agree with all your points I really think thats a perfect way to include him again and is what scarlet and brook both need the only reason I think it might not happen is grave seems to have set up like brook loving this domestic life and break he’s getting and I don’t see him just going back on that at least not right away maybe if theres quite a few episodes between then sure but right now hes getting his normal life arc which like love that for him love that hes getting that buuuuuut I wanna see him fight things I wanna see him be plot relevant I want him back :(((

I love the idea of making my own reaper and the chart given but what I got from putting my actual date of birth in wasn’t that fun plus exposed my actual date of birth so time for a dice roll!

I rolled a 19 which is “cerulean”

I rolled a 22 aka v in the alphabet which is an angler fish

Thats actually really cool the blue works with a water creature i wish it had been like a bright green though that would have been cool

3. Weapon

I rolled a 4 so C which is chains

Ok wait I love this image the chain could be like a sunken anchor

4. Level of hell

I rolled a 7 which is july so 5th level

Thats pretty bad like child murder bad backstory writing without making them completely unlikeable is gonna be fun

5. I rolled between -12 and 12 and got a 9 for 9pm so pretty much no control

Overall I really like this character idea (i may draw them later stay tuned) I think in life they were someone just trying to get by who ended up knowingly working for a company with terrible practices and was indirectly responsible for forwarding climate disasters and destroying the oceans and they chose to be willfully ignorant because it payed and finding a job is hard enough as it is but then their own terrible practices came back to bite them because a fire started from the oil being transported on the ship they were on and they ended up overboard and drowned satan would enjoy dressing them up in ocean themed garb to remind them of their trauma and death (think how he has brook wear the ribbon that killed him)

So originally I didnt like annabel lee that much which was mostly because I was a huge duke fan and I enjoyed his friendship with lenore more then lenores romantic relationship with annabel (aromantic :P) and the way she would essentially brush off all of lenores friends irked me then it turned into actual hate when she was part of the reason duke almost died

Then I became more of a prospero enjoyer then a duke one and lemme tell you annabels friendship with prospero completely redeemed her in my eyes
